Of great importance in today's conditions is the assessment of destructive factors influencing the mortality rate of patients with COVID-19, because this analysis may be necessary to form a roadmap for governments, which aims to prevent and reduce the spread of COVID-19. The aim of the research is to analyze the factors influencing mortality caused by COVID-19, based on data from countries around the world and at the national level. Among such factors, the influence of the environmental component is highlighted. Methodology and scientific approaches: comparative analysis - in establishing the average level of indicators for groups of countries depending on the human development index HDI, as well as for key indicators to characterize the level of environmental "load" at the level of regions of Ukraine, synthesis method - economically justified analysis results average level of indicators for groups of countries depending on the human development index HDI, the method of generalization - in forming the general conclusions of the study, statistical methods (correlations and the method of averages) - in assessing the impact of factors on mortality from COVID-19. The results of the study: the article conducted a study on the analysis of factors influencing mortality caused by COVID-19. Indicators that participate in the analysis of factors influencing mortality from COVID-19 are identified. The main indicators of the standard of living and health of the population used in the world are marked. The average levels of indicators for groups of countries depending on the human development index HDI are calculated and the dependences of these indicators and their impact on the mortality rate on COVID-19 are economically substantiated. In terms of regions of Ukraine, an analysis of the impact of indicators that affect the mortality rate from COVID-19, using some components of the environmental "load". The analysis of the main indicators for the assessment of the consequences of the spread of COVID-19 is carried out and their significance at the regional level is analyzed. The possibility of using the results in further research may relate to the formation of an economic model of factors influencing mortality caused by COVID-19, which will predict different scenarios of destructive factors on mortality from COVID-19 depending on the implementation of measures to combat the spread of the disease among governments countries. The practical significance of the study is that based on the analysis of the results of the study there is the possibility of forming effective management decisions by governments to counter the spread of COVID-19 at the international and national levels. The social consequences include the social effects that result from the results of this analysis through effective health care decision-making by national governments, that may reduce the mortality rate among the population from COVID-19.

A structured questionnaire survey is used to collect data from selected users of C2C Websites. Questionnaire are filled by 200 respondents and used for analysis. These respondents are selected with the help of convenience as well as snowball sampling. The findings indicate that the effectiveness of a C2C Website in e-commerce is affected by ease of use of the C2C Website, usefulness of the C2C Website, security, vender’s competence, and transaction facilities. On the contrary, third-party facilitators do not vary according to the demographic predictors and do not contribute to the effectiveness of a C2C Website. Casualization of labour in the world and indeed Nigeria is against the tenets of labour and this has caused continuous conflict between workers, labour unions, and employers across organizations in Nigeria and the world over. It is even more appalling to note that casual workers are barred from unionizing (trade union), denying them access to certain benefits in the organization. This is the essence to which the paper undertakes to examine the “impact of casualization on workers’ performance”. The objective of this study is to examine if casualization of work affects the productivity and output of casual workers. Descriptive survey research design was adopted in this study, the population of the study was from Coca-cola Bottling company (food and beverages), and Lolitta Manufacturing company makers of X-pression Hair product (Cosmestics industry) selected using simple proportion and random sampling techniques. The sample size was 152 respondents. Data was collected using structured questionnaire. Correlation and Regression tools were used to analyze the data. Results shows that casualization policy (absence of leave and leave allowance, absence of injury compensations and other social benefits) affects performance and effectiveness of casual workers. The study recommends stringent measures to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Casualization Prohibition Bill, 2010 leading to equal rights to all workers. This study further suggest a maximum period of six (6) month probation upon which all casual workers are converted to permanent staffs across organizations in Nigeria. The study also suggest that defaulting organizations are made to face the penalty irrespective of the status of the organization or owners. This way, organizations in Nigeria will attain acceptable human resources practices status as stated by ILO.

It is now acknowledged that demand stemming from traditional medicine stimulates a continued market for illegal wildlife trade globally. Increasing demand for pangolin fuels widespread unsustainable extraction and an illicit international trade that is threatening pangolin populations worldwide. Vietnam is an important transit country in this trafficking network and a significant consumer country, particularly due to their longstanding tradition of consuming wildlife products as traditional medicine. We conducted 51 semi-structured, questionnaire-based interviews with traditional Vietnamese medicine practitioners in Hanoi, Vietnam to explore the factors influencing their prescription of pangolin. The results show that traditional Vietnamese medicine practitioners are important drivers of pangolin use and that prescription continues despite prohibitive legislation. The main influencing factors were money, illegality (as a deterrent) and supply. Wealthier patients were more likely to use pangolin as medicine and patients generally trusted a doctor’s prescription. Awareness of regulations related to pangolin use in traditional medicine was low and pangolin use continued without fear of the law. Lactation, abscesses and circulation were the most prescribed uses for pangolin scales. All respondents believed that pangolin can be substituted, however, a belief remained that substitutes are inferior to pangolin. This study provides a unique perspective of pangolin use in one of the main pangolin consumption countries in the world. The results suggest that the law is not being implemented effectively and that increased enforcement efforts are necessary. Furthermore, these insights serve to inform future demand-reduction campaigns whereby the most common uses and substitutes for pangolin scales may be targeted.

Background: Gutkha is banned under Food Safety Act, India, effective from May, 2013 in Tamil Nadu. The current study is to find out the impact of Gutka ban on sale and consumption in Chennai city. Methods: Shop keepers (n=90) selling Gutkha and tobacco users (90) were chosen using stratified simple random sampling method from 15 zones of Chennai. Three different types of shops (platform/permanent/petty) were identified and a structured questionnaire was used. The questions included for shopkeepers were awareness about Gutkha ban, supply mode, sale and price difference and questions for users included motivation to quit, reduction in use, availability and price difference. Results: No shop had open display of Gutkha and all the shopkeepers and users were aware of the ban. Shopkeepers either bought Gutkha from the whole sale market (58.9%) or the agent (41.1%). Raid was conducted at 81% of the shops. There was a significant reduction in the sale after the ban (p<0.05). Users did not find it difficult to procure as it was easily available; however, price has increased up to 300%. Users felt guilty (18.9%) and fearful (23.3%) when using banned products. Users were motivated to quit (22.4%), made attempts to quit (58.9%) and felt the need for professional support to quit (38.9%). Significant difference was observed in the number of sachets used before and after ban (p<0.05) by the users. Conclusions: The ban did not have any impact on the availability of Gutkha, however it had a little impact on users. Stringent enforcement is crucial to achieve the purpose.
