In order to solve the problem of complex utilization of rice straw – waste of rice production – the task was to obtain from vegetable silicon-containing raw materials samples of aluminosilicates that are promising for use as highly efficient sorbents. A series of sodium aluminosilicate samples were synthesized from alkaline hydrolysates of rice straw of various strains of Far Eastern breeding, the effect of synthesis conditions on the properties of the final product was investigated. The chemical and phase composition of the samples were determined, the particle morphology was observed by scanning electron microscopy, the specific surface area was measured, the IR spectra were recorded, the thermal properties were studied, the limits of thermal stability were determined, and the products of thermal transformations were identified. The acid-base properties of the surface were investigated by the pH-metry method and the Hammett indicator method, and the distribution of active centers was determined. The dependence of the sorption capacity of the obtained aluminosilicates on rice varieties and the conditions of the extraction of silicon from the straw (the duration of alkaline hydrolysis) was established on model aqueous solutions of methylene blue. The results expand the possibilities of comprehensive utilization of agricultural wastes with obtaining valuable products and deepen knowledge about the processing biogenic silicon-containing raw materials and the sorption mechanisms of organic pollutants on aluminosilicate materials.

In the present work amorphous silica-aluminas were synthesized by the coprecipitation method during the hydrolysis of an alcohol solution of tetraethoxysilane (with a tetraethoxysilane: alcohol mass ratio of 1: 1) and 6% aqueous solution of aluminum nitrate at pH values of 1, 3, and 10. The Si/Al molar ratio for all synthesized samples were 4.72 (± 0.29). The amorphous character of the investigated materials was confirmed by X-ray phase analysis. According to the results of scanning electron microscopy, it was found that the resulting powders have particles with a size of 1-20 μm. It was shown that the conditions of synthesis affected the specific surface area and porosity of the materials under study. By the method of low-temperature adsorption-thermodesorption of nitrogen it was established that silica-aluminas obtained under acidic conditions were microporous materials. For the sample obtained under alkaline conditions (pH = 10), the contribution of macropores is very significant. A decrease in surface area is observed as the pH of the synthesis increases. The Hammett indicator method was used to identify and quantify surface centers of different acidity. All studied silica-aluminas are characterized by the presence of both Brønsted basic (pKax from 7 to 12.8) and acidic (pKax from 0 to 7) centers, and Lewis basic (pKax from -4.4 to 0) with a pronounced maximum at pKax = 1.02. It was found that the synthesis conditions had a significant effect on the concentration of active centers. The values of the Hammett function are practically the same for the 3 studied silica-aluminas and describe the studied samples as materials of medium acidity. The variety of Lewis and Brønsted centers on the surface indicates the amphoteric properties of the materials under study. This gives the samples the properties of polyfunctional sorbents and catalysts.

In the paper, the particle morphology is considered and the slices of phase diagrams of nanosystems agreeable to the synthesis conditions are constructed according to the data obtained earlier by authors, as well as new results of the study of nanostructured Fe-Co, Fe-Ni, Co-Ni, Fe-Co-Ni, Fe-Pt, Cu-Ni and Ni-Cd powders. It is found that all considered polymetallic systems have common nature of the particle size spatial organization, i.e., 7-20 nm nanocrystals (for different systems) form highly compact aggregates (40-100 nm) which put together into loose porous agglomerates (up to 200-250 nm) and then into unconsolidated micron size formation of cloud type. It is classified uncovered features of nanostructured polymetallic phase diagrams in comparison with phase diagrams of bulk systems. Magnetic properties of nanosystems are studied.

The paper presents data on the study of the content of carotenoids in plant fruits of different Sorbus species and varieties when introduced in the Komi Republic. As a result of a biochemical analysis, the accumulation of various amounts of carotenoids has been revealed: from 2,6 to 43 mg/%, depending on the species, sample and variety. The author compared the content of this group of substances in raw materials of plants introduced in the Komi Republic with the ones growing in other regions of Russia (Republic of Bashkortostan, Republic of Mordovia, Saratov, Penza, Moscow Region and others). It has been shown that under northern conditions in rowan fruits the value of the total carotenoids prevails in representatives of the Sorbus section with an East Asian range ( S. pohuashanensis , S. discolor , S. amurensis ), except the Far Eastern species S. sambucifolia . A different content of carotenoids in the plant fruits of S. aucuparia samples has been established: the maximum is in the sample from Yoshkar-Ola, which is 3-5 times higher than that in S. aucuparia from the Komi Republic. The content of this group of substances in the rowan fruits of the three studied varieties (Businka, Rubinovaya and Sorbinka) has been determined; their predominance in the Sorbinka variety has been shown. The study of the biochemical composition of plant raw materials of mountain ash species and varieties with the highest content of carotenoids when introduced in the North should be continued in order to further assess its qualitative composition and to develop recommendations for its use as a medicinal product, as well as a source of functional ingredients for pharmaceutical and food industries.

Currently interested in the reaction for producing oligosilsesquioxanes based on acidolysis alkoxysilanes. In this regard, the author was given the following tasks: development of optimal synthesis conditions; preparation of new methylphenylsiloxane resins with different properties. In this paper, the properties of new methylphenylsiloxane resins (MPR) with various radicals in silicon were studied. New IFSS were obtained by a new universal technology-acidolysis of a mixture of methyltriethoxysilane (MTEOS) and phenyltriethoxysilane (PTEOS) with various radicals, which are environmentally friendly raw materials. The obtained MPR were characterized by NMR spectroscopy on 1H and 29Si nuclei. Spectra were recorded at room temperature in deuteroacetone using Bruker AM-360 Fourier spectrometer. 29Si NMR spectra were measured using the pulse program "Inverse Gated Heteronuclear Decoupling". The content of residual functional groups (Si-OH, Si-OEt) in IFSS was determined by functional analysis methods. Determination of ethoxy groups and hydroxy groups was carried out by iodometric and aluminohydride method, respectively. Thermogravimetric analysis was performed on the device Derivatograph-H (firm Mom). TGA studies were carried out in the argon atmosphere and in the air at a heating rate of 10 ºC/min. Measurements of kinematic viscosity of 20 % and 50% by weight. toluene solutions of MPR were carried out at 20 °C on the viscometer HPV-2. The reaction acidolysis of methyltriethoxysilane and oligophenylenes is a convenient and versatile method for the synthesis of new heat-resistant resins methylphenylsiloxanes. In the course of the study, it was found that the resins obtained on the basis of organoalkoxysilanes are characterized by higher thermal and thermo-oxidative stability.

As rice is the staple food of most Asian countries, rice straw has become one of the largest agricultural wastes in Asia. It has not been subjected to adequate value additions yet. However, it has excellent potential to be converted to valuable materials, as it contains a significant amount of cellulose. Therefore, it would be beneficial in many ways to identify the cellulose yields of straws of different rice varieties. In general, the cellulose content of biomass is determined by wet chemical methods. Though these methods are accurate, they are not convenient to use under industrial conditions. This research work focuses on investigating the potential of thermal analysis as an alternative way to predict cellulose yields. For the study, rice straws of most frequently cultivated traditional Sri Lankan rice varieties: Suwandel and Raththal, as well as technically modified Sri Lankan rice varieties: BG300 and BG352, were selected. The results obtained by the proposed method were validated by an established three-step chemical extraction process.
