Provisions in regulations of 1993 and 2007 years are compared. The compliance of articles of the Regulations to the Constitution of the Russian Federation, Federal laws from May 27th, 1998 No. 76 «Concerning the status of military personnel», from November 21st, 2011No. 323 «On fundamental healthcare principles in the Russian Federation» and from March 30th, 1999 No. 52 «Concerning the Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare of the Population» are described. The academic performance of the aspiring soldier is the set of indicators of academic subjects, physical preparation and military attitude that he presents within the military training institute, since the product that is intended to be delivered to the Army and society is a disciplined and prepared individual academically, militarily and physically, according to the standards established in the Military Education Model of the Armed Forces and the career plan in military sciences of the University of the Armed Forces - ESPE. In addition, it is necessary to complement this training by instilling the conviction of pursuing a professional and ethical military career. Thus, the proposed objective was to establish the results of the entrance tests that predict the academic performance of aspiring second-year military soldiers, 2018-2020 class, of the Ecuadorian Army Soldiers Training School “Vencedores del Cenepa”. Therefore, this research presents a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design and a correlational scope. The averages of the entrance and academic performance tests were used for academic periods and annual cut-off of each aspiring soldier, from the file and database of the Soldiers Training School "Vencedores del Cenepa", for their tabulation in a matrix of Excel predesigned and the subsequent statistical analysis in the SPSS program. Thus, a moderate significant correlation is observed between academic and physical entrance tests with academic performance, a low correlation with the military attitude of would-be soldiers, and no correlation with student desertion. In addition, the entrance tests that moderately predict academic performance and poorly predict military attitudes of would-be soldiers are the academic and physical entrance tests.

The article identifies the problems of completing the Armed Forces of Ukraine with officers. The problems have been identified in the light ofthe tasks that the armed forces are facing at this time. Recent studies and publications related to the training of reserve officers have beenanalyzed. Sources of staffing of foreign countries' military officers are briefly discussed. We used the system of the general scientific methods of theoretical and empirical research, in particular, the theoretical-methodological analysis of the problem and the relevant scholarly resources, systematization and generalization of the scientific information pertaining to the essence and content of the set objectives, monitoring of the existing system of military specialists training in the Armed Forces of the republic of Belarus, cientific generalisation, the general scientific methods of logical and comparative analysis, systems approach, peer review, analysis andinterpretation of the obtained theoretical and empirical data.According to the results of a sociological survey of a group of students of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiev studying under thereserve officers training program, some problems of organization of military training were considered. In planning the sociological survey, all questions were summarized in six main blocks: Socio-demographic characteristics of respondents; Student motivation to make the decision to study under the Reserve Officers program and the main factors that influenced this decision; The correspondence of the specialty in which the student studies, the military specialty in which he undergoes military training; Military formations and other power structures of Ukraine, in which students plan to go to military or civil service after graduation; Conditions under which students agree to go to military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine after graduation; Measures to be taken to improve the quality of student training in the Reserve Officers Training Program. The main indicators that characterize these blocks are identified. The military training of students is an important component for staffing military units and creating a mobilization reserve for the armed forces, both in foreign countries and in Ukraine. Taking into account the results of the sociological survey and the experience of foreign countries, the following proposals have been made to build a two-tier system of training of reserve officers in Ukraine: The first level is the military-wide training of the NCO during the first year of training and the three-week training course. Students who have successfully mastered the first-level program are awarded the military rank of "junior reserve sergeant" and are certified as a platoon commander. Second level - training of reserve officers during the second year of training and 30 days of military training. Continuation of military training may be applied on a competitive basis by students who have a higher rating based on the results of the first stage of preparation.

In the scientific article the training of future officers for professional activity in military lyceums is considered as not only theoretical but also practical component, because without the theoretical component in combination with practice it is impossible to orient properly in the educational process of higher military educational institutions and military training units of higher educational institutions during the training of tactical level officers and the assessment of training final results. The training of future officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for professional activity in military lyceum is considered and scientifically substantiated both as a purpose and as a result of professional training. Since the main purpose of any higher military educational institution is to prepare the graduates for professional activity, the main guideline and basis for solving the problems of training of future officers for professional activity should undoubtedly be the essence of this activity, which reflects the set of its deep connections, relations and internal laws. The detailed analysis of the scientific works provided grounds to substantiate the author's determination of training of future officers of the Armed Forces for professional activity in military lyceum, which provides the formation of a holistic personal education as a result of special professional and psychological-pedagogical professional training, which ensures the transition to a qualitatively new form of activity for the cadet as a future officer of the Armed Forces and it is a set of interdependent and interconnected components: motivational-value, cognitive and reflexive. The criterias of readiness for professional activity of an officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as an important and defining feature that characterizes various qualitative aspects, essences and specifics of professional activity of a serviceman are evaluated. The professional activity of an officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a military lyceum is characterized by a high degree of social responsibility, conservatism of values and clear regulation of the conditions for its implementation. In the professional environment of the military lyceum, the role of socially conditioned characteristics and conditions of activity of both faculty that includes officers of the Armed Forces, and pupils (lyceum students) is significantly increasing. It follows that mastering the profession of an officer of the Armed Forces is not only the ability to effectively perform duties, but also the adoption of the appropriate lifestyle, way of thinking, system of norms and values by a future officer.

The expediency of interaction of the educational organization with the military units of the region in the process of military-patriotic education and pre-conscription training of young people for service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is substantiated. As an example, we consider the experience of the Derzhavin Tambov State University in the field of military-patriotic work with youth both at the university and in the region. We analyze the features and results of the work of the regional branch of the All-Russian military-patriotic movement “Young Army”, the regional center for pre-conscription training of youth and military-patriotic education, operating on the basis of the university; the federal project being implemented jointly with the mil-itary units of the Tambov garrison to create in the region military-patriotic centers “Avangard”, organize regional stages of the All-Russian military-patriotic games “Zarnitsa”, “Eaglet”, “Victo-ry”. The author’s position is that the active participation of an educational institution in military-patriotic education and pre-conscription training of students of the university and the region in co-operation with the military units of the Tambov territorial garrison will allow not only to more ef-fectively solve the problems of educating a citizen, patriot, defender of the Fatherland, but also to become non-traditional potential “growth point” of the university. The directions and mechanisms of interaction between the university and the military units of the Tambov garrison are described, the results of interaction in the field of military-patriotic education of students in the region are as-sessed.

In the context of the reform of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and a significant increase in the proportion of military personnel doing military service under contract, the issues of manning the troops with healthy, physically developed citizens with high moral and business qualities are of paramount importance. Of particular importance in the selection of candidates for military service under the contract is the conduct of laboratory and instrumental studies, professional and psychological selection, determination of the level of citizens’ physical fitness. The Federal Law «On Military Duty and Military Service» defines a two-stage system for medical examination of citizens entering military service under contract, which is necessary as a barrier in order to prevent citizenswho do not meet the necessary requirements for military personnel from entering the Russian Armed Forces. At the first stage (preliminary examination), the military and medical examination of citizens was carried out by specialist doctors working in medical organizations of the outpatient-polyclinic link of municipalities at the place of citizens’ permanent residence. Medical specialists of the regular military medical commission of the military commissariat of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation participated in the second stage (final examination) of the military medical examination. During the five-year period under study, 5,133 citizens (72.9 %) were selected out of 7,043 candidates for military service under contract, who fully met all the criteria for defenders of the Fatherland.

This study is dedicated to the regional history of the East-West conflict on the basis of the relationship between the Germany military and the Belgian armed forces stationed in Germany. The central question it addresses is which factors were largely responsible for the interdependence between actors and institutions of both armies. In addition to analysing the limited time of the peak phase of Belgian military deployment in the Federal Republic 1946–1990, the book concentrates regionally on the military training areas of Vogelsang in the Eifel and the Wahner Heide near Cologne as military contact zones. For this purpose, the author evaluates unpublished archival sources at the local level for the first time.
