Set type yoghurts are characterised by a semi-solid texture, which is created during the fermentation process. The tea infusion in this type of yoghurt production can influence the quality of the final product. Therefore, the aim of the experiment was to evaluate the influence of the addition of 3, 6 and 9% inulin to oolong tea-infused yoghurts on the sensory quality. It has been evaluated by trained experts using a Quantitative Descriptive Profile analysis and by consumers using hedonic scaling, as well as on instrumentally evaluated features such as texture, stability and visual parameters. The addition of oolong tea to yoghurt resulted in positive changes in the perception of sweet, peach and nectar odours and flavours, and also creaminess, as well as negative changes in the presence of a bitter taste, the whey presence and a colour intensification towards dark cream (p ≤ 0.05). The addition of inulin to the tested oolong tea yogurts caused a decrease in the whey presence and brightened the yoghurt’s colour (6% and 9%, p ≤ 0.05, respectively), as well as an improved creaminess and an increase in the sweet taste of the yoghurt. It was also observed that the addition of oolong tea deteriorated the instrumentally evaluated texture of the set yoghurts, while inulin at a higher concentration (9%, p ≤ 0.05) increased the firmness and adhesiveness. Moreover, the addition of inulin also had a positive effect on the yoghurt’s stability. The addition of inulin to oolong tea-infused set yoghurts may be valuable both as a source of prebiotic fibre in functional products and as a factor improving the quality of these products.

Marginal settlements may be defined as inhabited areas characterized by a series of negative features, typicallyethnic segregation, social discrimination, poor living conditions and conflicts, with impact on their dwellers and neighboring communities. In Romania, informal settlements were legislated in 2019; it subsequently became mandatory for the local authorities to spatially delimit them and formulate measures to improve living conditions. However, there are still numerous issues to be solved, from the lack of basic services (health, education) to the persistent poor living conditions or serious environmental problems. The Roma communities selected for our study are no exception. They are located on the outskirts of some cities or in their historical centers (Cluj-Napoca, Sibiu, Timișoara, Baia Mare). Through content analysis, based on print and electronic media from the last 10 years (n = 150 news items), different aspects of marginal housing were illustrated. The results of the study revealed some particular aspects, namely: some of the Roma communities are relocated whilst some others are subject to environmental conflicts; funding addressing the quality of life of Roma ethnics seems to deepen the phenomenon of segregation among communities, most of the measures being limited to the creation of housing facilities.

OBJECTIVE: To assess the annual cost of asthma per adult patient from the perspectives of society, the Ontario Ministry of Health and the patient.DESIGN: Prospective cost of illness evaluation.SETTING: Ambulatory out-patients residing in southern central Ontario.POPULATION STUDIED: Nine hundred and forty patients with asthma over 15 years of age studied between May 1995 and April 1996.OUTCOME MEASURES: Direct costs, such as respiratory-related visits to general/family practitioners, respiratory specialists, emergency rooms, hospital admissions, laboratory tests, prescription medications, dispensing fees, devices and out-of-pocket expenses, were calculated. Indirect costs, such as absences from work or usual activities, and travel and waiting time, were studied.MAIN RESULTS: Unadjusted annual costs were $2,550 per patient. Hospitalizations and medications each accounted for 22% of the total cost and indirect costs 50% of the total costs. More severe disease, older age, smoking, drug plan availability and retirement were significant predictors of costs. Annual costs per patient varied from $1,255 (95% CI $1,061 to $1,485) in young nonsmokers with no drug plan and mild disease to $5,032 (95% CI $4,347 to $5,825) in older smokers with drug plans and severe disease. Clinically important reductions in the quality of life occurred with increasing severity.CONCLUSIONS: Interventions aimed at reducing productivity losses, admissions to hospital and medication costs may result in savings to society, the provincial government and the patient. The quality of policy and allocation decisions may be enhanced by cost of illness estimates that are comprehensive, precise and incorporate multiple perspectives.

This study aims to analyze e-government service quality in the goods and services procurement in Riau Province, particularly in Pekanbaru City.  The data were collected through an in-depth interview analyzed using a dialogical interpretation approach. The results showed that the service quality of goods/services procurement in Riau Province coordinated by the Electronic Procurement Service (LPSE) through its website http://lpse.riau.go.id has already met the users’ expectation. Even so, the ad hoc position of the Work Unit of LPSE Riau, decreasing enthusiasm of goods/services providers for upgrading the skills of their human resources, and ineffective communication between LPSE, ULP and PDE of Riau Provincial Government effectively degrade the quality of service that has already run well. Hence, there should be a restructuring of LPSE and Work Units related to the e-government implementation in order to synchronize the implementation of e-government in general and e-procurement in particular in Riau Province.

Death and complication due to surgeries or surgical actions is a global health problem. The WHO estimates that at least half a million deaths that are caused by surgeries can be prevented. On 2008, the WHO released a campaign about safe surgery and the surgical safety checklist to improve the quality of our surgery cases and decrease the number of complication and deaths caused by surgeries. Hospital accreditation is used to improve the quality of hospital management, including in reducing numbers of death and complication due to surgeries.  This is a quantitative descriptive approach study. The study population used were all surgical safety checklist. Sample number of 75 surgical safety checklist, 15 surgical safety checklist each from June 2017, August 2017, January 2018, June 2018, and January 2019. Data analysis shown by statistic table and percentage. There was a change of number in completing compliance of the surgical safety checklist before and after hospital accreditation. It showed that nearing hospital accreditation, the compliance rate was almost 100% on all the items. This continued a month after, but some of the items had a lower rate of compliance further after the hospital accreditation. The number of completing compliance of the surgical safety checklist nearing hospital accreditation is higher than after hospital accreditation. The sign in item have the highest rate of completing compliance whereas the sign out item had the lowest number of compliance.
