The world practice of distance learning has updated the educational technologies that are adequate to the challenges of today and can effectively solve the problems of training competitive specialists in the new information society. Among them, visualization is singled out, which improves the quality of perception, understanding and assimilation of educational material and serves as a powerful motivator of the students’ cognitive activity. The study is aimed at characterizing the potential of visualization as a technology for teaching Pedagogy students, which allows using the tools of the digital environment effectively to achieve educational goals. The main research method is the survey of 96 second-year bachelor-degree students of the subject area “Pedagogical Education” of the Faculty of Philology of the North-Eastern Federal University. A quantitative and qualitative analysis of the results of the research on visualization as educational technology has revealed the interest of future teachers in using visual teaching methods and understanding the role of visualization in enhancing the cognitive activity of students. The respondents have demonstrated, on the one hand, knowledge of the basic means of information visualization (88%). Yet, on the other hand, not all of the respondents (55%) can clearly and consciously differentiate the concepts of “online platform”, “social network” and “visual means of transmitting information” (“visual communication”).

At the beginning of the first paper on this subject, which I had the honour of reading before the Fellows of the Royal Society now somewhat more than eight years ago (“Proc. Roy. Soc.,” vol. 24, p. 354), I gave a short account of what appeared to me to be a rational mode of explaining the occurrence of all great explosions in dry and dusty collieries; and since then I have had opportunities of studying several remarkable instances of this class of phenomena, with the result that I am now more than ever satisfied with the correctness of the views which I then expressed. It is true, as some subsequent writers, amongst whom I may name Sir Frederick Abel, F. R. S., have observed, that coal-dust had been previously recognised as a factor in colliery explosions. I think I may safely claim, however, that no earlier author had gone the length of crediting it with the role of principal agent, and relegating fire-damp to a secondary position. It is also admitted, I believe, by everyone familiar with the subject, that my experiments with mixtures of coal-dust and air containing a small proportion of fire-damp were original. Similar experiments were subsequently made by members of the North of England Institute of Mining and Mechanical Engineers, by a committee of the Chesterfield Institute of Engineers, by Professor Abel on behalf of the Home Office and the Royal Commission on Accidents in Mines, | and by others in this country, by MM. Mallard and Le Chatelier for the Commission du Grisou in France, and by others on the Continent, all of which led to the same conclusion, namely, that air containing too small a proportion of fire-damp to render it inflammable at ordinary pressure and temperature becomes so when coal-dust is added to it. Differences of opinion were expressed as to the actual proportion of fire-damp, the comparative fineness of the coal-dust, and the quality of the coal necessary to the attainment of this result, but the general conclusion, in every case, was the one I have stated above.

This paper describes the Role of Supervisor in Building Religious Culture. Teachers are components of human resources that must be fostered and developed continuously in order to perform its functions potentially. Therefore, to improve the quality of education starts from teachers and other education personnel. One of the efforts that can be done is by doing a supervision. Religious culture is one of the objectives of learning Islamic religious education, ie that learners can lead to the aspect of being not only leads to aspects of knowing and doing it. In this case, supervisor support will be given to build a religious culture, considering that one of the goals of the supervisor is the one provided to help teachers become professional, skilled and skilled teachers and able to do more effectively in achieving educational goals.

The paper describes the past and present distribution of Colchicum autumnale in the vicinity of Cracow, highlights the role of Stanisław Dembosz (who published the first locality of C. autumnale near Igołomia in 1841). Gives information about the occurrence of C. autumnale in Krzeszowice in the 19th century (reported by Bronisław Gustawicz), presents new localities noted in 2012–2014 in meadows in the north-eastern part of the Puszcza Niepołomicka forest and adjacent area (between the Vistula and Raba rivers), and gives a locality found in Cracow in 2005 (no longer extant).

The Sunamganj district is covered by major Haor systems in the north-eastern region of Bangladesh. Flash flood is the most commonly occurring water related disaster in the Haor areas. During the flash flood it is very common that people lost their primary agricultural productions which are the only source of their livelihood. The present study focuses on the effects of 2017 early flash flooding on rice and fish production of Sunamganj Haor areas. The flood caused enormous damage to agriculture such as rice especially Boro rice and fish production on which the Haor dwellers rely upon for their livelihood. The total affected land of Boro rice cultivation in Haors of Sunamganj was 149,224 hectare and the total amount of damaged rice was 393,855 metric ton (MT). The total number of affected farmers was 315,084. The early flash flood also affects the quality of Haor water which caused the death of fishes. The total amount of damaged fish was 49.75 MT and the loss was 158.70 lakh taka. The total number of affected fishermen was 44,445. This findings could be very useful for the environmental scientists to predict the probable future effects on agricultural production due to early flash flood events in Sunamganj Haors areas. The waterlogged terrace wet rice-fields of Apatani Plateau located at an altitude of 1500msl in Arunachal Pradesh of the north eastern India are stocked with fish Common carp (Cyprinus carpio L) for several decades. The fishes are not fed with supplementary feeds because of the rich organic nature of the rice-fields. The study on water and soil of these fields revealed a strong co-relation to such organic nature. The wet rice-fish integrated fields exhibited the characters of shallow wet ecosystems. The water canals traversed through the rice fields were found inundated with water up to 50m showing the nature of Deep Water Rice fields (DWR) at least for one month. Significant (p<0.001) variations of water were observed for dissolved oxygen (DO) and carbon dioxide (CO2) to diurnal and seasonal changes. Alkalinity of the fields intends to play a role towards its productivity which is otherwise played by DO in other aquatic systems. Soil nitrogen reflected a gradual increasing trend of organic nature. Role of periphyton may not be ignored to the high phosphorus level of the soil at later flood phases in these fields. Morasko University Campus in Poznań – origin, spatial and functional structure, transport solutions The purpose of the paper is to characterize the most recently created part of the Adam Mickiewicz University – the Morasko Campus. The paper consists of three parts. The first concerns the origins and development of the campus. The second part presents its spatial and functional structure on the basis of a field inventory, while the third one – campus transport solutions based on a survey conducted among students. The history of the campus located in the northern, peripheral part of the city began with laying the foundation act and the cornerstone in 1977. The agricultural role of this area, dominant until the 1980s, has been replaced with new functions, mainly academic and scientific ones. The first university buildings were commissioned in the 1990s, and the construction boom began after 2000. A total of nine faculties (out of 21 existing) are housed in eight buildings in the campus, including exact and natural sciences, as well as a part of social sciences and humanities. To this day, neither student dormitories nor accommodation for PhD students have been constructed (although they are likely to be built), which would emphasize the academic function of the campus. The campus also comprises areas with recreational, sports, residential and other service functions (e.g. catering, beauty, hairdressing, and commercial services), which are complemented by areas that serve transport functions. Location in the northern periphery of the city, and above all the railway line for freight (the northern bypass of Poznań) separating the city from the campus, makes transport to this part of the city limited. The results of the survey revealed a lack of a safe bicycle path between the western and eastern part of the campus, insufficient number of parking places for motorists, a lack of paved roads from the north and west, only three narrow access roads for car commuters, and difficult access by public transport to the eastern and north-eastern parts. In the latter case, the planned extension of the tram line towards Umultowo after the year 2022 is expected to solve the problem. Zarys treści: Celem opracowania jest charakterystyka najmłodszej przestrzeni Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza – Kampusu Morasko. Opracowanie składa się z trzech zasadniczych części. Pierwsza część artykułu dotyczy genezy powstania i rozbudowy miasteczka uniwersyteckiego. W drugiej części przedstawiono strukturę przestrzenno-funkcjonalną kampusu w oparciu o inwentaryzację terenową, w trzeciej zaś obsługę transportową na podstawie badań ankietowych przeprowadzonych wśród studentów. Historia położonego w północnej, peryferyjnej części miasta kampusu rozpoczęła się od wmurowania aktu erekcyjnego i kamienia węgielnego w 1977 r. Dominująca do lat 80. XX w. funkcja rolnicza tego obszaru została zastąpiona przez nowe funkcje, głównie akademickie i naukowe. Pierwsze budynki dydaktyczne oddano do użytku dopiero w latach 90. ubiegłego wieku, a boom budowlany rozpoczął się po roku 2000. Swoją siedzibę znalazły tutaj nauki ścisłe i przyrodnicze, a także część nauk społecznych i humanistycznych, w sumie dziewięć wydziałów (na 21 istniejących) w ośmiu budynkach. Do dzisiaj nie wybudowano akademików czy domu doktoranta (choć istnieją realne szanse na ich powstanie), co podkreśliłoby funkcję akademicką kampusu. W strukturze kampusu wyróżnia się ponadto obszary o funkcjach rekreacyjnych, rekreacyjno-sportowych, mieszkaniowych i innych o charakterze usługowym (np. usługi gastronomiczne, kosmetyczne, fryzjerskie, handel), których uzupełnieniem są obszary o funkcjach komunikacyjnych. Położenie na północnych peryferiach miasta, a przede wszystkim linia kolejowa dla przewozów towarowych (północna obwodnica Poznania) oddzielająca miasto od kampusu sprawiają, że obsługa transportowa tej części miasta jest ograniczona. Wyniki badań ankietowych wskazują na brak bezpiecznej drogi rowerowej między zachodnią i północno-wschodnią częścią kampusu, niewystarczającą liczbę miejsc parkingowych dla zmotoryzowanych, brak utwardzonych dróg od strony północnej i zachodniej, zaledwie trzy wąskie wjazdy na kampus dla dojeżdżających samochodem czy utrudniony dojazd komunikacją publiczną do części wschodniej i północno-wschodniej. W tym ostatnim przypadku rozwiązaniem ma być planowana po 2022 r. rozbudowa linii tramwajowej w kierunku Umultowa.

Abstract- Cilincing and Marunda are two kampongs situated in the north of Jakarta, immediately bordering on the Java Sea. The existence of the fishing villages sketches the lives of these communities. They make their living out of catching fish and other produce, so the lives of the fishing community take place between water and land. This situation has led to their settlement differing from others in the urban kampong. The synergy stimulated by the water-based context has inspired the unique architectural features of these villages, in terms of planning the lay-out of the dwelling-places or residential area.This research study is a descriptive-comparative analysis of the exploitation of exterior space based on the configuration pattern of the mass lay-out of the fishing villages observed. The data collection technique consists of gathering the relevant physical data along with those covering related activities. The physical data have been obtained by way of field mapping and observation, while the data concerning activities have been collected through observation and interviews conducted with the respondents, namely the inhabitants of the Cilincing fishing village (RT 012) and of Marunda (RT 03). The data have been divided based on the major outdoor activities of the community involved (sea-faring and residing). Finally, a comparison has been drawn between the research results of these two villages.The findings indicate that the configuration of the mass lay-out in these two fishing villages has created a quality of exterior space exploitation that is different as well. The one that displays a scattered lay-out pattern has a large volume of exterior space at its disposal that is left unexploited by its inhabitants, both for sea-bound activities and residential land-bound ones. The propinquity of the mass has created exterior space that is more intimate in nature.Keywords: Configuration of mass lay-out, exterior space

The education system is organized in the form of cycles, each feeding the one following it with learners. They will continue their studies in the destination cycle, and their future will certainly depend, at least in part, on the quality of the skills acquired in the previous cycle. Given the divergences and disparities existing between the different cycles mainly due to the fact that each responds to its own design logic and in the absence of coordination between them, there is a huge lack of quality to gain at the interface of the cycles . The referral system that plays the role of supply service needs to be updated to strengthen educational quality, but it is not the only one. It is also necessary to help the orienting staff to assess the quality of the learners at its true value, to set up partnership links between the cycles to help each other in favor of quality, and to set up reception control systems at the entry of each cycle, supported by corrective and preventive measures.

The paper is rooted in the observations from the two internet blackouts witnessed in Meghalaya in 2018 and 2019. The state is located in the North Eastern region of India and this study focuses on the Khasi population residing in the East Khasi Hills District. The study explores the complex role social media has played in information dissemination in the digital age. India currently leads the world in terms of internet blackouts and it has been imposed 538 times in the country. This phenomenon has become a reoccurring trend over the last few years with the rise in digital communications and technological affordances. The paper addresses the dualistic nature of social media and how it can be empowering on the one hand, and can also be a key contributor to mis(dis)information on the other. The study offers a non-digital centric approach by adopting digital ethnographic methods and offers insights into the social media practices and experiences of the Khasi participants as well as delving into the problematic nature of internet blackouts with respect to Meghalaya. Evidently, social media has become a space in which most individuals carry their identity, aspirations, views, history, and opinions.

&lt;p&gt;There has been a noticeable increase in the application of artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms in various areas, in the recent past. One such area is the prediction of rainfall over a region. This application has seen crucial advancement with the use of deep sequential learning algorithms. This new approach to rainfall prediction has also helped increase the utilization of satellite data for prediction. As, AI based prediction algorithms are based on data, the characteristics of it dominates the accuracy of the prediction. And one such characteristic is the information content in the data being used. This information content is classified into redundant information (information of past states in the current state) and new information. The performance of the AI based rainfall prediction depends on the amount of redundant information present in the data being used for training the AI model, more the redundant information (less the new information content) more accurate will be the prediction. Various entropy based measure have been used to quantify the new information content in the data, like permutation entropy, sample entropy, wavelet entropy, etc. This study uses a new measure called the Wavelet Entropy Energy Measure (WEEM). One of the advantages of WEEM is that it considers the dynamics of the process spread across different time scales, which other information measures have not considered explicitly. Since, the dynamics of rainfall is multi-scalar in nature, WEEM is a suitable measure for it. The main goal of this study is to find out the amount of information being generated by INSAT-3D and IMERG rainfall at each time step over the North Eastern Region of India, which will dictate the suitability of the two rainfall product to be used for AI based rainfall prediction.&lt;/p&gt;
