Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan penggunaan pendekatan pendidikan multikultural pada pelajaran Sosiologi SMA kelas XI. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang dilakukan di SMAN 4 Purworejo. Data dikumpulkan melalui metode pengamatan dan wawancara dengan guru Sosiologi SMAN 4 Purworejo. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik Pendekatan Pendidikan multikultural yang dilakukan oleh guru sosiologi SMA menekankan pada tiga bentuk: optimalisasi peran rasionalitas bagi siswa, praktek dan pembiasaan perbedaan pendapat. Pendekatan ini tepat dilakukan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran pada materi kelompok sosial dalam masyarakat multikultural. Kendala dalam pelaksanaan pendekatan multikultural di SMA adalah, alokasi waktu pertemuan, konsentrasi siswa dalam menerima materi pelajaran yang berhubungan dengan multikultural, keterbatasan media pembelajaran yang digunakan saat pembelajaran serta minat siswa dalam belajar. Hal ini membuat guru bekerja ekstra untuk membuat variasi dalam pembelajaran agar kegiatan belajar mengajar dapat berhasil dengan baik.The objective of this article is to describe the use of multicultural education approach to the study of sociology for senior high school student class XI. This study is a qualitative study conducted in SMAN 4 Purworejo. Data were collected through a method of observation and interviews with teachers of Sociology. The results show that the characteristics of a multicultural approach to education implemented by high school sociology include three forms: teacher’s emphasis on the optimization of students’ rationality, practice and dissent habituation. This approach is appropriate for the learning activities on material of social groups in multicultural societies. Constraints in the implementation of a multicultural approach in high school include time allocation, student’s concentration, the limitations of instructional media used during the learning process, and finally the student’s interest in learning. This makes teachers work hard to make the variation in learning in order that teaching and learning activities can have good results.

Learning facilities and infrastructure as the factor strongly assumed to influence students learning motivation. Based on the results regression analysis of data collected through a survey method with a closed-ended questionnaire distributed to 50 respondents in one of private vocational high school student in Bandung. It is found that learning facilities and infrastructure have an effect on students learning motivation. The findings can have implications on the teaching and learning process. The implication are also for education researchers to consider learning facilities and infrastructure as predictors or variables of better students learning motivation.ABSTRAKSarana dan prasarana pembelajaran merupakan faktor yang tidak dapat di abaikan keberadaan dan peranannya sebagai factor pendukung terhadap keberhasilan kegiatan pembelajaran di sekolah. Dukungan sarana dan prasarana pembelajaran sangatlah nyata terutama terhadap tumbuhnya motivasi belajar para siswa dan pada gilirannya kelak akan memberikan efek yang berarti  terhadap hasil belajar mereka. Dengan kata lain bahwa sarana dan prasarana pembelajaran memberikan pengaruh terhadap motivasi belajar para siswa. Hal tersebut terbukti secara empirik berdasarkan hasil penelitian pada salah satu  Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan swasta di Bandung dengan melibatkan 50 siswanya sebagai responden. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa sarana dan prasarana pembelajaran memiliki hubungan langsung dan kuat dengan motivasi belajar mereka. Hal tersebut dapat diartikan bahwa sarana dan prasarana belajar memberikan pengaruh kuat terhadap motivasi belajar mereka. Dengan demikian dapat dinyatakan bahwa sarana dan prasarana pembelajaran merupakan factor determinan  terhadap motivasi belajar siswa.

The purpose of this study was to identify and obtain information on the constraints of the online teaching and learning process at home as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. The research use the exploratory case study method and the research approach utilised the qualitative case study method which was applied to obtain information on the constraints and consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic on teaching and learning activities in junior high school. In this study, respondents were 3 teachers and 3 parents at the Kusu-kusu Sereh Christian Middle School in Ambon. Semi-structured interviews were conducted and a list of questions compiled for interviews was developed based on related literature. The results of this study are that there are several obstacles experienced by students, teachers and parents in teaching and learning activities both online and offline. Obstacles in the online learning process are mainly the lacking technology mastery, the additional cost of internet quota, and lastly the reduced communication and socialization between students, teachers and parents. Obstacles in offline learning are the distance the teacher travels to when visiting the student's residence which is quite far away and the additional work for the teacher in arranging the schedule for student home visits. The same constraints faced in online and offline learning are the existence of additional work for parents in accompanying children to study, and unlimited working hours for teachers because they have to communicate and coordinate with parents, other teachers, and school principals

In the last few decades, the development of mobile phone is rapidly growing and brings many changes in human life. Mobile phones nowadays extend their capabilities into all aspects in human life, including teaching and learning process. Therefore, this research aims at knowing what smartphone applications are frequently used by the students and investigating the contributions of those applications in students’ learning activities. This research uses a qualitative case study in order to obtain a deep analysis. The subjects of this research are twenty students of junior high school in Kebumen who are chosen based on some criteria. Additionally, the data of this research were obtained using questionnaire and interview. Based on the finding, the smartphone applications which are most frequently used by the students to support their learning activities are social media (Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter), Google chrome, music player, offline dictionary, YouTube, and English exercise application from play store. Last but not least, all the students agree that smartphone applications give positive contributions to their learning process. The contributions of those applications in the students’ learning activities are helping the students in finding more sources of authentic English materials; finding more exercise in grammar, reading, listening, speaking, and writing skills; improving students’ vocabulary, grammar, listening, and speaking skill.

Penelitian tindakan kelas dengan judul Pembelajaran Kontekstual dengan Teams Games Tournament (TGT) untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar telah dilakukan pada bulan Agustus – Oktober 2017. Subjek penelitian siswa  kelas IXA SMPN 3 Jember.Tujuan penelitian untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran kontekstual dengan metode belajar kooperatif TGT dapat meningkatkan hasil  belajar siswa. Data hasil belajar meningkat dari dari siklus I (75%) ke siklus II (100%). Data hasil belajar berdasarkan sub ranah kognitif (C1, C2, C3, C4, C5) meningkat dari siklus I ke siklus II Guru diharapkan menerapkan pembelajaran ini karena membantu siswa membangun kebiasaan berpikir positif dan memotivasi siswa lebih giat belajar.   Kata kunci: Pembelajaran kontekstual, TGT, hasil belajar Classroom action research with the title of Contextual Learning  using Teams Games Tournament (TGT) Cooperative Learning  to Enhance Result have been conducted in Agustus – Oktober 2017. The source of data in this research were students of class IXA State Junior High School 3 Jember. The result of the research shows that the students’ result increased. Increased result observation  the first cycle (75%) to the second cycle (100%). Increased result oof learning observation base on domain of cognitive from the first cycle (C1, C2, C3, C4, C5) to the second cycle. Teachers should implement this kind of teaching and learning activities because to help students build more positive thinking and motivate them to be more actively involved in the Science subject teaching and learning process   Key word: Contextual learning, TGT, result of learning

melalui penerapan reward and punishment di SMA Swasta Manarul Islam Kabupaten Aceh Tamiang, sebagai upaya peningkatan mutu pembelajaran di sekolah. Beberapa faktor penting dalam peningkatan mutu tersebut di antaranya adalah penerapan budaya sekolah yang positif dan berkesinambungan. Budaya sekolah yang positif tentunya harus dipertahankan dan dilaksanakan oleh semua warga sekolah tanpa terkecuali dan tidak merasa terpaksa. Dalam menerapkan budaya sekolah perlu sikap kesadaran dari semua warga sekolah secara bersama-sama. Salah satu budaya sekolah yang harus dipertahankan adalah kedisiplinan, kedisiplinan guru dalam kehadiran di kelas pada proses belajar mengajar. Untuk  meningkatkan  disiplin  para  guru  dapat  diupayakan  melalui  bermacam-macam cara. Dalam Penelitian Tindakan Sekolah (PTS) ini, dicobakan tindakan berupa penerapan Reward and Punishment bagi para guru di SMA Swasta Manarul Islam, Kabupaten Aceh Tamiang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, karena dari hasil penelitian dan analisa data, ternyata pada siklus kedua, kedisiplinan guru, dalam kehadiran di kelas pada proses belajar mengajar meningkat dan memenuhi indikator yang telah ditetapkan sebesar 80%. Dari hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa untuk meningkatkan disiplin guru dalam kehadiran di kelas pada kegiatan belajar mengajar dapat dilakukan dengan penerapan Reward and Punishment kepada guru.Kata Kunci: Disiplin Guru, Reward and Punishment. Abstract: The objective of this study was to improve teacher’s discipline in teaching attendance in class through the application of reward and punishment at the Manarul Islam Private High School, Aceh Tamiang Regency, as an effort to improve the quality of learning in school. Some important factors in improving the quality was the implementation of a positive and sustainable school’s culture. A positive school’s culture must be maintained and implemented by all school members without exception and do not feel forced. In implementing school’s culture, it is necessary to have an attitude of awareness from all school members. One of the school’s cultures that must be maintained is discipline that was teachers’ discipline in class attendance in the teaching and learning process. To improve the discipline of teachers, it can be acted in various ways. In this School Action Research, tried to study by applying Reward and Punishment for teachers at Manarul Islam Private High School, Aceh Tamiang Regency. This research was conducted in two cycles, the results of research and data analysis, it turned out in the second cycle, teacher’s discipline, in class attendance in the teaching and learning process increased and met the predetermined indicators of 80%. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that to improve teacher’s discipline in class attendance in teaching and learning activities can be done by applying Reward and Punishment to teachers.Keywords: Teacher Discipline, Reward and Punishment

Teaching material is the important component in teaching and learning process, therefore, choosing the correct one will make easy the achievement of the learning objective.  The Education National Standard Foundation (Badan Standar Nasional Pendidikan) arranges the basic competence standard which will be achieved in learning process as well as the topics which must be covered in the given teaching material. Every education stage has different material, and it is also different for the learner in different study program who will have different teaching material which is in accordance with the field of study and the expected goal. To achieve the good learning objective, the teacher has right to choose the textbook which is going to be used in the learning activities. However, there are also some schools decide to cooperate with other course institutions in running the Mandarin Language teaching and learning activities. The limitation of the availabality of Mandarin textbook which uses Indonesian language gives certain difficulty to the learners not only for the learning activity but also for the process of transferring the knowledge. The writer tries to describe the teaching material used by Senior High School and to see whether that textbook has fulfilled basic competence standard criteria which is going to be achieved by using discussion method with Senior High Schools teachers. It also tries to enlighten the material inside the textbook which is used by the teacher. The writer hopes there will be Mandarin Language Textbook which meets the basic competence standard which is able to support the learners in order to achieve the objective of  the Mandarin Language learning process in Senior High School.

The universities in Rwanda, like in other countries, experienced uncertainty created by restrictions and lockdowns imposed to contain the spread of Coronavirus. None of the universities were prepared to face disruptions of this scale, however, learning had to continue irrespective of the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on the case of the University of Rwanda (UR), this chapter discusses the Rwandan university’s response to COVID-19, presents the lessons learnt, and provides recommendations that might help universities and researchers in the future. This chapter reports on a qualitative study that analysed the university’s news articles and official communications with regards to COVID-19 that were collected during a seven-month period. The findings revealed that the university was not indeed prepared to continue its teaching and learning activities remotely online, and that the decision to go online was top-down. Furthermore, it pointed out the lack of access to the required infrastructure and tools, the lack of technical support and training, and the digital divide that exists among students, as the major challenges to a successful remote online teaching and learning process.

The use of media in teaching and learning process can help the smoothness, effectiveness, and the efficiency in reaching the learning objective. The use of teaching media in eleventh grade of Social studies based on the syllabus of BSNP for Senior High School in Barabai Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency was not optimal, about 33,84% was not implemented. To reveal the cause was not optimal utilization of instructional media in class XI IPS high schools in the city Barabai Hulu Sungai Tengah. The study was designed with a descriptive design and implemented in senior high schools Barabi Cities Hulu Sungai Tengah. There are 3 schools with four teachers who teach geography class XI IPS is used as a source of research data. The research results, it was found that (1) the availability of the teaching media for Geography in the eleventh grade of Senior High School in Barabai Hulu Sungai Tengah regency was not complete (2) The teaching media for Geography in the eleventh grade of Senior High School in Barabai Hulu Sungai Tengah regency was not used optimaly based on BSNP. (3) The teachers' habit in teaching the eleventh grade student of Senior High School in Barabai Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency was to only use the textbook as the teaching media; and (4) The teachers were not skilled enough in using the teaching media in the eleventh grade of Senior High School in Barabai Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency. There are some suggestions proposed to make the use of teaching media optimally.Key words: Geography teacher, and learning media

Special service administration is to provide services specifically or a business that is not directly related to the teaching and learning process in the classroom. But specifically given by the school to the students so that they are more optimal in carrying out the learning process Special service management in schools is basically set and organized to facilitate or facilitate learning, and can meet the special needs of students at school. Special services are held in schools with the aim of facilitating the implementation of teaching in the context of achieving educational goals in schools. Education in schools also includes trying to keep students in good condition. Good here concerning physical and spiritual aspects. Special services provided by schools to students, between schools one with other schools are generally the same, but the management process and utilization are different. Some special services available at school include: Library, Labor, UKS (School of Health Business), School Kafetaria, Facilities of worship, Dormitory, Cooperatives and Transportation. Thus, special service management is a process of providing services to students to support learning activities so that educational goals can be achieved effectively and efficiently.
