The aim of the study was to carry out a comparative analysis of the values and structure of correlation relationships of psychophysiological function of different categories of military pilots (112 – supersonic, 109 – transport and 142 – helicopter aircraft). The analysis of the obtained results was carried out according to the indicators of personified characteristics, neurodynamic and psychomotor functions. A significant identity of the values and structure of the correlation relationships of indicators of psychophysiological functions of military pilots of supersonic and transport aviation was established. The presence of a common system-forming factor in ensuring the reliability of task performance determines the prevalence of indicators of psychomotor functions over those in helicopter pilots for whom the indicators of most neurodynamic functions are reliably better. Respectively, in the groups of military pilots of supersonic and transport aviation, psychophysiological functions are fairly well correlated with each other and are closely related to majority of personal characteristics, forming 45 and 52 % of relationships. Among helicopter pilots, such relationships are significantly less, amounting 24%. There is also a lack of significant influence of personalized characteristics on the formation of the «correlation frame» of psychophysiological functions.

The aim of the study was to determine the characteristics of the psychophysiological functions of 363 military and 110 civilian pilots by comparative analysis of the results of evaluating their values and the structure of correlation relationships. The analysis of the obtained data was carried out using the well-known methods of variation statistics and correlation analysis. It was shown that among military pilots the best were indicators of neurodynamic functions, attention and reliability of task performance, and among civilians – orientation in space and short-term memory. In the group of military pilots, psychophysiological functions are fairly well correlated with each other and are closely related to most of the personified characteristics, forming 45,5 ± 6,1% of relationships of the maximum number. Among civilian pilots, there are fewer such relationships 24,2 ± 5,3%; there is no correlation between psychophysiological functions and personified characteristics. The regulation of possible negative shifts in psychophysiological functions and the reliability of mission performance in military pilots is carried out primarily as a result of the stabilizing effect of the balance of nervous processes and, to a lesser extent, the strength of nervous processes and orientation in space. Among civilian pilots, such regulation is fairly evenly distributed between the balance of nervous processes, attention, orientation in space, and short-term memory.

Abstract Most corpus-based studies of translation use published texts as the basis for their corpus. This overlooks interventions by other agents involved in translation such as editors, who may have significant influence on the translated text. In order to study editors’ influence on the translation product, this paper presents a comparative analysis of manuscript and published translations, which allows a differentiation of actual translated language and edited translated language. Based on a tripartite parallel corpus of English business articles and their translations into German, I analyse translators’ and editors’ influence on grammatical metaphoricity of the text, specifically on the use of nominalisations. One finding is that a significant amount of nominalisation is re-verbalised by editors. The results show that translated language may often be the result of significant editorial intervention. Thus, by just considering source text and published translation, our picture of what translators actually do may be significantly distorted.

The word infidel is mentioned 525 times in the Qur'an. The use of this word infidel has various meanings as in the QS. Ali 'Imran:151, the word infidels are those who associate partners with Allah while in QS. Luqman:12, the Qur'an calls the disbelievers those who disbelieve in the favors of Allah. The difference in the term infidel is not only limited to the verses of the Qur'an, but also applies among commentators, scholars, intellectuals, to ordinary people, including in the understanding of Indonesian society. This research is entitled "The Meaning of Kafir in the Qur'an (Comparative Study of the Interpretation of Ibn Kasir and M. Qurais Shihab)". In order to significantly answer the questions that arise; what is the meaning of infidel in the Qur'an according to Ibn Kasir in the book of Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Azhim and M. Quraish Shihab in the book of Tafsir al-Misbah, similarities and differences in interpretation, and the relevance of their interpretation in the Indonesian context. This research is a library research that uses descriptive comparative analysis research method with a historical approach. The results of this study are: the socio-historical context, sources of interpretation, methods, and styles have a significant influence in producing differences in the interpretation of the Qur'an, especially regarding the meaning of kafir. Between Ibn Kasir and M. Quraish Shihab agreed to interpret the word infidel in the form of isim jama 'muzakkar salim (الكَافِرُوْنَ) in five (5) verses, namely QS. al-Mai'dah: 44, QS. al-A'raf: 45, QS. al-Taubah: 32, QS. al-Ankabut: 47, and QS. al-Rum: 8 with the meaning of denying and covering, but differing in explaining the interpretation of the five verses, although the difference is not that far away. The interpretations of the two figures in this thesis are very relevant to the context of Indonesia which is multi-religious and multi-cultural.

This study was designed to investigate the effect of speaker's voice quality on perceived phonetic quality in vowels using a perceptual scaling task. 16 subjects scaled sets of vowels produced by six different speakers (three women, three men). Analysis indicated no significant influence of speakers' quality on judgments of similarity of vowels. Results suggest that judgments of similarity were made on the basis of linguistically categorized images.

Research has shown no consistent findings about how scanning techniques differ between experienced and inexperienced helicopter pilots depending on mission demands. To explore this question, 33 military pilots performed two different landing maneuvers in a flight simulator. The data included scanning data (eye tracking) as well as performance, workload, and a self-assessment of scanning techniques (interviews). Fifty-four percent of scanning-related differences between pilots resulted from the factor combination of expertise and mission demands. A comparison of eye tracking and interview data revealed that pilots were not always clearly aware of their actual scanning techniques. Eye tracking as a feedback tool for pilots offers a new opportunity to substantiate their training as well as research interests within the German Armed Forces.

The article is devoted to the socio-psychological analysis of the image of a political leader in the space of thinking of Ukrainian student youth. The problems of the implementation of the political choice of student youth in the process of socio-political changes are revealed. As politics began to be perceived as personalized, through the prism of personal characteristics of particular political figures, it is relevant to study the role of the image of a political leader, which is characterized by the transformation of personal and professional qualities. The paper presents a comparative analysis of the results of an empirical study of the image of a political leader in the space of thinking of student youth conducted at the Nizhyn Mykola Gogol State University and Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University in 2011-2019. The article presents that formed image of the politician determines the level of political activity during elections. A comparative analysis of the results obtained concerning the priorities of student youth reveals the most important political quality of the political leader for student youth – his social orientation and concern for the people. The results of the comparative analysis indicate an increase in the political subjectivity of youth, but negative emotions (disappointment) impede the willingness for responsible participation in political life. Three groups of factors are identified that mediate the process of perception by the electorate of a political leader. Features of vertical and horizontal involvement of a citizen in political activity are revealed. The peculiarities of changing attitudes and the value-normative orientation of the political consciousness of modern students are demonstrated.

Annotation. The paper presents the results of statistical calculations of psychophysiological examinations of 80 military pilots and flight navigators with different levels of suitability for flight performance. The authors analyze the effects of the temporal factor (after the vacation leave) on the psychophysiological qualities of military pilots, other indices of individual typological and psychodynamic qualities which prove to be the indicator of the possibilities of man’s adaptation to the conditions of the task performance. With respect to investigating the above possibilities, we have determined the time period for carrying out their assessment with the aim of determining reasonably the level of the military pilot professional suitability. This makes it possible to timely prevent the negative changes in the state of health and professionally important qualities of pilots in order to support and rehabilitate their readiness for performing the tasks assigned. When carrying out the investigation we managed to take into account the external criteria of success rate in performing the professional duties of pilots: the efficiency of professional activities, the pilot’s qualification and total flight hours. The authors also reveal the difference in the correlation of psychophysiological functions in pilots suitable and unsuitable for performing their professional duties. The authors suggest the up-to-date methodical approaches to monitoring the psychophysiological qualities with the aim of the further development on this basis the criteria for the professional suitability of the pilot. Special solution rules of determining the level of suitability of military pilots for performing their professional duties are developed.
