Introduction. Now that family values ​​are both the most significant and the most debated ones, the issue of the socio-cultural foundations of the corresponding norms and actions is of particular importance. Based on exploratory research, the article considers the most general nature of the influence of the ethnic factor on family values, statuses, and practices of the Tatars and Russians living in Tatarstan, and identifies the place of the family in the system of their life priorities. Materials and Methods. The study adopted the value-oriented approach and certain provisions of the theory of transformation of a traditional society into a modern one. It was based on the texts of 30 in-depth interviews given by the families of urban and rural Tatars and Russians living in the region. Most of the interviews were conducted in two-generation family homes, which made it possible to create a confidential atmosphere of conversation, and to imagine how the family members really interact, as well as to cover several generations of interviewees thus increasing their number. Results. The performed analysis of the texts has revealed that, while the family tops the hierarchy of values ​​of both Tatars and Russians, there have been differences in the content of family values ​​and in their interrelation with other ones. Among the Tatars, all other value orientations are linked the family, solution of economic problems being an integrating factor, and extended kinship relations being significant. For ethnic Russians, work, self-development, and hobbies have a separate and independent meaning; the family tends to be united by the ideas of friendship and mutual understanding, while close kindred ties are mainly maintained with the nuclear family. Discussion and Conclusion. The study made it possible to draw conclusions and assumptions about the common features and differences in family values ​​and practices of the Tatars and Russians living in Tatarstan, due to the ethno-confessional specifics of cultures and the peculiarities of their social dynamics. Prospects for the study of family priorities are associated with further research into the interaction of the culturally related norms and values of the ethnic communities. This may become a basis for the development of their mutual understanding and cooperation.

Abstract In recent years, Singapore made significant reforms towards the establishment of a dedicated family justice system, setting up the Family Justice Courts and enacting new laws to better manage the divorce process and the protection of children. Related policy changes have also been implemented to provide and support families that were previously considered non-traditional and even deviant. Rhetorically, the state, led by the long-ruling People’s Action Party, continues to champion the modern nuclear family with heterosexual marriage at its core as the normal “traditional” form of the family and the bedrock of conservative “Asian values” defining society and politics in Singapore. However, what the judiciary espouse as the new family justice paradigm and the related family justice practices, together with the shifts in social policy towards different family types, are changing the texture of the dominant conservatism rallied by “Asian values” discourse. This article locates and analyses the incipient paradigm shift in the rising pluralism of family forms and the influence of international legal developments in protecting the rights of the child and interventionist family law. By attempting to bridge the Weberian chasm of doing sociology as a vocation and doing politics as a vocation (as an opposition Member of Parliament), I show that the family justice paradigm has opened up the discursive field on the family and produce the politics of ambivalence caught between family justice and Asian family values. I argue for a relational family justice paradigm as a way to move beyond the politics of ambivalence.

The article discusses the peculiarities of formation of the ideas about family relations among modern studenta, the author analysed opportunities for the realisation of this potential in various social institutions, and the most effective means of forming ideas about family values in modern youth are studied. The authors analyse the factors that entailed changes in the value orientations of modern student youth. The authors describe the results of a study on the family views and family relationships among young people, and propose the programme "A well-to-doyoung family" to form the ideas on family relationships and marriage among the modern students. The purpose of the programme approach is the formation of the personal readiness of modern students to marriage and family relations. The implementation of the programme will be carried out through the educational process, by means of students' self-government and a system of extracurricular upbringing activities.

The article deals with the problem of intra-family intergenerational values transmission and, first of all, reproductive attitudes, the need for children, the values of family and child life. It emphasizes the importance of increasing the reproductive attitudes in the population to overcome the demographic crisis in modern Russia and the world as a whole. The complexity of correctly measuring value orientations and reproductive attitudes, the significant difference between the declared values and real reproductive behavior is noted.To study and predict the development of value orientations of the population, reproductive attitudes characteristic of modern youth representatives, it is necessary to study the process of intergenerational values transmission. Moreover, taking into account that the basic values of a family-children lifestyle are formed within the primary intra-family socialization, it is necessary to study the process of intra-family values transmission from the generation of parents and grandparents to children.The paper presents analysis results of three waves of the study devoted to family-children life performed in 2014–2016, based on a total base of 4500 respondents’ responses. Using correlation and multivariate analysis of variance for paired samples, it is shown that family values of parents are not fully transmitted to children, and the distortion occurs not only at the stage of acceptance of the transmitted values, but also at the level of primary communication. For respondents of different socio-demographic status, representing families with different numbers of children, the decline in the significance of the family is equally characteristic when they transfer the values to their children. In the light of this pattern, the task of working with families and young people becomes important, aimed at raising the status of the family and strengthening intergenerational intra-family interaction.

The issue “Family and Family Values in the Slavic and Jewish Cultural Tradition” of the annual “Slavic and Jewish Culture: Dialogue, Similarities, Differences” includes the papers of the international conference “The Concept of Family in the Slavic and Jewish Cultural Tradition” held in Moscow on January 29–31, 2020. The book includes 16 articles by scholars from Russia, Germany, Latvia, who devoted their research to the peculiarities of functioning of the nuclear family in different cultural environments, in traditional society, as well as in the modern world against the background of globalization processes. Based on historical, literary, folklore and visual sources, the authors consider family values, family roles and their implementation in rituals, initiation and socialization rites, conflicts and dialogue of generations in the family culture of Slavs and Jews, family law, the impact of assimilation and acculturation on the traditional family.

Objective. Analysis of the family resilience as its systemic characteristics from the standpoint of the organizational theory of A.A. Bogdanov. Background. The growing uncertainty of the existence of a person and a family makes such a quality as resilience in demand. The approach to the family as a system and practical work with it from the perspective of studying its resilience presupposes an emphasis not on the weakness and dysfunctionality of the family, but on those potential and real possibilities that are inherent in it. The family resilience as its systemic characteristic, depends on the balance of risk and protective factors, in the quality of which the family’s resources are considered. Family resourses are indicators of the family resilience. The resources of the nuclear family, contributing to the formation and maintenance of its resilience in wide temporal, social and cultural contexts, are gradually uniting individual resources. The process of forming the resource capacity of the family is not only their accumulation, but also the synthesis and grouping of the resources of the whole family as a system. Methodology. Bogdanova, being a general scientific approach to the study of any system, makes it possible to analyze the family resilience as its systemic characteristics from the standpoint of the interaction of multidirectional activities mediated by differences in the understanding of family values, communication needs and organizational patterns. The joint coordinated activity of family members, leading to an increase in family resilience, is achieved with the help of certain resources.

Value orientations, national mindset, and ethnic self-awareness have formed throughout multiple centuries by the means of traditional folklore. The texts of older generation referred to children, children compositions and practices along with upbringing techniques in the bosom of family or community ensured the development of personality traits of a child, introduction to labor, behavioral and communication norms, rituals, and all aspects of the national culture. The traditional folklore of family ritualism of Kadar people creates an ideal environment for the development of a child. This article is first to study the traditional folklore of family ritualism of the Kadar ethnic group in the children's cycle, as well as semantics of the indicated ritual processes. The existence of traditions and rituals in modern society ensures the continuity and reproduction of the cultural foundations of the Kadar ethnos, spiritual and moral wellbeing of modern society. It is revealed that rational, traditional and theological methods and techniques were closely intertwined in the rites of the children's cycle of the family ritual of Kadar people, and were aimed towards upbringing a healthy new generation. One of the main leitmotifs in the lullaby genre of Kadar folklore consists in a problem of the moral and aesthetic ideal of personality.

From time immemorial, society has been characterized by a specific set of values, the system of which acts as a high level of regulation.Value systems are formed and transformed in the historical development of society.In each society, the value system is determined by the sociocultural, historical, political, cultural, economic conditions of its development, trends in social dynamics, the specifics of a particular period of functioning of society with its difficulties and prospects.The system of values consists of three elements - universal, cultural and individual.This article is aimed at considering methodological approaches to the study of the education of modern youth on the basis of family values, which is included in the element of individual values.The family is one of the main life values for people all over the world and as a system is characterized by the presence of connections and relationships (marital, consanguineous and others) between its constituent elements (family members) and manifests its integrity with an indissoluble unity with the environment (sociocultural reality).Modern youth is going through the process of active formation and development in the family, therefore, in the process of adaptation to the rapidly changing sociocultural reality, they use the system of family values, adapting it to modern conditions.The axiological, personality-activity, gender approaches were also methodological guidelines in the upbringing of the attitude to family values among modern youth.Thus, family values and trends characterizing the state of the family are significant social indicators that educate today's youth.

The subject of this research is contradictory trends in transformation of the traditional Russian family into a family of modern type. The analysis of family transformation processes is conducted on the basis of the concept of familialism that puts family in the center of society, as well as on the basis of methodological foundations of the civilizational approach towards studying societal development. The perspective is substantiated that Russia as a separate civilization, with its own values and cultural foundations that differ fundamentally from the Western European civilization. It is demonstrated that the social institution of family is undergoing crisis in all civilized countries; but unlike an organic course of modernization in Western European, in Russia it is an inorganic modernization. The author explains the fatality of situation for the Russian family, when the external modernization processes contradict with the ethnic social archetype of the Russians. The article disputes the modernist concept of the transformation of family relations, which justifies the normality and naturalness of changes. It is underlined that modernization processes lead to the demise and extinction of family institution, which is disastrous for the society. The applied part of the article presents the results of the authorial research on determination of students’ stance on the family and family values; the respondents became the students of Siberian University of Consumer Cooperation in Novosibirsk. Student youth is the conveyors of traditional family values. On the verbal level, they translate tolerance and liberal values, and on the behavioral level are oriented towards family relations of traditional type. The recommendations are made on structuring the government policy in the sphere of family relations based on the foundation of Russian sociocultural values.

Abstract Providing adequate speech therapy services to Latinos who stutter can present challenges that are not obvious to the practicing clinician. This article addresses cultural, religious, and foreign language concerns to the therapeutic relationship between the Latino client and the clinician. Suggestions are made for building cross-cultural connections with clients and incorporating the family into a collaborative partnership with the service provider.

Laura Olson is one of a small but energetic and influential group of Christian political scientists determined to bring the debate politically legitimate called it either racist or sexist. Yet, somewhat surprisingly, African American pastors held the most consistently conservative views on family values, although they also saw the connections among crime, violence, and the deterioration of the family. Within the authorÕs intentionally limited scope, this is an excellent study, but one should be cautious about generalizing.
