ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to assess the effectiveness of three surface friction techniques for the removal of organic material. A quantitative, descriptive and exploratory study was developed to evaluate the presence or not of organic material before and after the cleaning and disinfection process of surfaces of bedside tables of patients hospitalized at an Intensive Care Unit. Three friction techniques were executed in the one-way, two-way and centrifugal sense, individually, three times on each table, during alternate weeks. For each patient unit and friction technique, a single table and three sides of cloth were used, moistened with 70% (w/v) alcohol. The organic matter was detected through the presence of adenosine triphosphate by bioluminescence, using 3M(tm) Clean-Trace(tm) ATP Systems. For each technique, 13 samples were collected before and 13 after the cleaning/disinfection process, totaling 78 samples of adenosine triphosphate by bioluminescence. No statistically significant difference was found among the removal techniques of organic matter. This study demonstrated that none of the three surface friction methods was better than the other to remove organic matter. Nevertheless, further research is needed in which other cleaning/disinfection indicators and surfaces are considered.

<p>The advent of technology has improved the way statistics is taught and learned. It is claimed that the use of computer-based instructional tools can actively explore the meaning of statistical concepts among the students, as well as enhance their learning experiences. This study aimed to compare three methods of statistical analysis namely, the traditional technique (use of the calculator), Microsoft Excel and Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software. This investigation utilized the experimental design, specifically the One-Group Pretest – Posttest Design. There were six education students who self-assessed their attitude before and after the introduction of the use of various computation techniques and performed the statistical analysis considering also the completion time required for each process. Results of the study revealed an increase in the level of attitude among the respondents form the pretest to the posttest. Also, the cognitive level regardless of the approach was very high. However, the t-test failed to establish a significant difference in the attitude among the respondents. On the other hand, there were significant differences in both the test scores and completion time of the respondents in the three methods in favor of SPSS.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Keywords: </strong>Information technology, statistics, traditional technique, Microsoft excel, SPSS, comparative analysis, experimental research design, Davao City, Philippines. </p>

Background: Failures in the processes of cleaning and disinfecting health service surfaces may result in the spread and transfer of pathogens that are often associated with healthcare-related infections and outbreaks. Aims: To assess the effectiveness of environmental surface cleaning and disinfection in a hospital clinic. Method: The study was conducted in a nursing ward with 45 beds. A total of 80 samples from five high-touch surfaces were evaluated before and after cleaning and disinfection, using the following methods: visual inspection, adenosine triphosphate bioluminescence assay, aerobic colony count, Staphylococcus aureus colony count, and evaluation of resistance to methicillin. The data analysis used nonparametric comparative and correlative tests to observe any differences in the pre- and post- cleaning and disinfection results for the surfaces assessed. Results: Effective cleaning and disinfection had a significant effect on only two surfaces when measured for the presence of adenosine triphosphate, the inner bathroom door handle (p=0.007) and the toilet bowl (p=0.01). When evaluated for Staphylococcus aureus colony count, the toilet flush handle also demonstrated a significant effect (p=0.04). Conclusion: The effectiveness of cleaning and disinfection of the surfaces tested was not satisfactory. An educational intervention is recommended for the cleaning and disinfection staff and the nursing team at the healthcare facility. Relevance to Clinical Practice: The data in the study revealed that daily hospital cleaning and disinfection in the sampled sites are not sufficient in medical and surgical wards. Hospital cleanliness must be reevaluated from the point of view of materials, such as an adequate supply of clean cloths, in addition to establishing more precise cleanliness protocols and accurate monitoring systems.

One of the tasks of the development of children aged 11-15 years is to think in a more abstract and logical way and more idealistic thinking. This ability to think will be disrupted if teenagers have difficulty concentrating during learning. Therefore we need a method that is fun and can make children relax in learning so that they can concentrate their concentration on ongoing learning. One method that can be used is the Murrotal Al-Qur'an therapy. The aim of the study was to determine whether there was any effect of murottal therapy on the concentration of students at Muara Enim 2 MTsN. This study used a quasi-experimental design with the design of the one group pretest posttest. The sample used was all students of class VIII.G at MTsN 2 Muara Enim. The results showed that the average concentration score of class VIII.G students before Murottal therapy was given was 10.84 with a standard deviation of 3.043. While the average concentration score of class VIII.G students after being given murottal therapy was 17.90 with a standard deviation of 1.233, so that the difference in mean concentration scores before and after murottal therapy was 7.06 with a standard deviation of 1.81. Wilcoxon signed ranks test obtained ρ value = 0,000, with a value of α = 0.05 (p <0.05), this shows that there is a significant difference between the concentration of students before and after being given murottal therapy. It is expected that the school can make a policy about the application of murottal therapy in increasing student concentration.

TThis study aims to determine whether there is a difference in the value of the shares of PT. Kimia Farma Tbk. after the acquisition of PT. Phapros Tbk. The data used is the value of shares consisting of book value, market value, and the intrinsic value of shares of PT. Kimia Farma Tbk, which was taken ten months before the acquisition of PT. Phapros Tbk. by PT Kimia Farma Tbk. This study is a comparative study with a quantitative descriptive approach, data analysis using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The results of this study indicate that the book value of PT. Kimia Farma Tbk. which has a significant difference before and after the acquisition, while the indicators of the stock market value and the intrinsic value of PT. Kimia Farma Tbk. does not have a significant difference before and after the acquisition event.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan motivasi, hasil belajar kognitif, hasil belajar afektif peserta didik dalam pembelajaran IPA dengan menggunakan media komik. Penelitian dilakukan lewat quasi experiment dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Subjek penelitian adalah 57 peserta didik kelas VII SMPN 1 Banjarnegara. Media komik digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPA selama 6 kali tatap muka. Data motivasi dan hasil belajar afektif diperoleh lewat angket dan observasi, sedangkan hasil belajar kognitif lewat pretes dan postes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media komik di dalam pembelajaran IPA mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didik dengan nilai gain skor sebesar 0,55 (sedang); hasil belajar ranah kognitif dengan gain skor sebesar 0,42 (sedang); dan meningkatkan hasil belajar ranah afektif dengan gain skor sebesar 0,34 (sedang). Hasil uji beda antara sebelum dan setelah perlakuan menunjukkan adanya perbedaan baik yang menyangkut motivasi belajar, hasil belajar ranah kognitif, maupun hasil belajar ranah afektif. Kata Kunci: media komik, pembelajaran IPA, motivasi, hasil belajar kognititf, hasil belajar afektifTHE USE OF COMIC MEDIA IN SCIENCE INSTRUCTION TO IMPROVE MOTIVATION AND COGNITIVE AND AFFECTIVE ACHIEVEMENT Abstract: This study was aimed to describe the improvement of students’ motivation, cognitive and affective learning achievement in science instruction using comic media. The study was carried out using the quasi experiment with the one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects consisted of 57 seventh grade students of SMPN 1 Banjarnegara.Comic media were used in science instruction for six times. The data on motivation and affective learning achievement were obtained through questionnaires and observation, while the cognitive learning achievement was obtained through the pretest and posttest. The findings of the study showed that the use of the comic media in the science instruction could improve the students’ motivation with a gain score of 0.55; improve the cognitive learning achievement with a gain score of 0.42; and improve the affective learning achievement with a gain score of 0.34. There was a significant difference in the students’ motivation, cognitive learning achievement, and affective learning achievement before and after the treatment. This study aimed to investigate the effect of using news as authentic materials for essay writing skills. This experimental study employed the one-group pre-test and post-test design to 18  fourth-semester students who joined the Essay Writing Course in one of the universities in Indonesia. These students were selected through systematic random sampling and went through treatments for 12 meetings where they were taught in a hybrid learning setting. The first four meetings used the conventional face-to-face classroom interaction. The rest of the meetings were done online because of the outbreak of COVID 19. The instruments to collect data were tests and documentation. Before they were given to the students, the teaching materials, pre-test, and post-test designs were tested and validated. The authentic materials were news texts about global issues such as poverty, environmental protection, gender, race and ethnicities, and diseases. Two raters scored the students’ writing by using Jacobs ESL Composition Profile. The researchers used IBM SPSS 25 software to analyze the data. The results of a paired sample t-test analysis showed that there was no significant difference in the students’ writing scores before and after using news as authentic materials (p = .959 α = 0.05). The paper further discusses the implications of this study for theoretical and practical use.

Aim and Objectives: Demonstrating the exact quantity of Moringa oleifera (MO) that will cure any hepatocyte diseases and the one that can harm the hepatocytes of the Adult Wistar rats. Methods: Twenty (20) adult Wistar rats (both sex) were used for the study (caged based on same sex to avoid mating and pregnancy) and were randomly assigned into four groups (n=5); A-Control, B-250 mg/body weight (BW) of MO, C-500 mg/BW of MO, and D-750 mg/BW of MO orally. Result: The crude aqueous extract of MO Lam, shows insignificant increased in BW at the 1st week of administration which latter dropped little by little doing the weeks of the administration in groups (B, C, and D) rats, by comparing (p<0.05) to the control group after MO administration, the organ (Kidneys) shows a significant difference between the kidneys (left and right kidneys) in relation to the control group rats. MO increases the weight of the animals morphologically by comparing the weight of the animals before and after administration. Histological sections shows a normal Glomerulli, Peri-Glomerular Space, Convoluted Tubules, and Interstitium, after administration of the Crude Aqueous Extract of MO lame in terms with the control group rats. Conclusion: MO is a good herb that has no damage effect on the body and hepatocytes but of more beneficial.

   The aim of the study was to uncover the effectiveness of the inverted learning model in the achievement and performance of e-learning skills in the students of the department of machinery and equipment . The semi experimental approach design was used with before and after test measurement. The study sample consisted of students of the first stage of the equipment and equipment department of the Institute of training of trainers (70) students divided into two groups: experimental group (35) students were taught the subject of electricity and electronic cars. And a control group (35) students were taught with a traditional course. The tools of the study were applied before and after the two groups. The data were analyzed using the one-way contrast test and  Gohen Standard  equation  to  effective  size . The results of the study were statistically significant difference at (α = 0.05k) between the average of the experimental and control groups in the post application of both the achievement test and the skill performance observation card for the benefit of the experimental group.

Objective To study the one-year effect of wearing orthokeratology (OK) lenses on the visual quality of juvenile myopia. Methods The right eyes of 36 juvenile myopias were retrospectively studied in this work. Q-value, e-value, corneal curvature, strehl ratio (SR), modulation transfer function (MTF) and wavefront aberration (WA) were compared before and at 1, 3 and 12 months after wearing OK lenses. The SR, MTF and WA of cornea, internal optic and ocular were analyzed separately. The spherical and cylinder diopter, vision acuity, compensating factor (CF) and compensative rate (CF%) were compared before and at 12 months after wearing OK lenses. Results (1) The vision of LogMAR increased and the corneal curvature decreased significantly after wearing OK lenses. There was no significant difference for the e-value before and after wearing OK lenses. The Q-value increased at 1 month but decreased at 3 and 12 months remarkably. (2) The ocular and internal optic SR and MTF increased significantly at 1 month and then remained stable. The MTF in different spacial frequencies increased after wearing OK lenses. There was no significant difference for the corneal SR before and after wearing OK lenses, and the corneal MTF decreased significantly after wearing OK lenses. (3) For the ocular, the total higher order aberration (HOA), spherical, coma and trefoil aberrations increased, and the total aberration, total lower order aberration (LOA) and defocus aberration decreased obviously except astigmatism. The corneal aberrations increased significantly after wearing OK lenses except astigmatism. For the internal optic, the total aberration, total LOA and defocus aberration decreased, and the total HOA, coma and trefoil aberration increased significantly except the astigmatism and spherical aberrations. (4) The CF and CF% of total aberration, total LOA, total HOA and coma aberrations increased, and those of astigmatism and spherical decreased at 12 months. Conclusions Orthokeratology is effective in correcting the refractive error and improving the vision quality of juvenile myopia over the one-year follow-up period.

Children are the next generation that every family dreams of. Besides, every family also hopes that their children can grow and develop optimally so that they can realize the expectations of their parents. This study aims to obtain an overview of the effectiveness of Laman Sahabat Keluarga on the level of knowledge of maternal care in children aged 13-24 months. This research was conducted in Cibatok Village, Bogor Regency. This research method uses the pre-experimental method with the alternative the one-group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study were mothers who have children aged 13-24 months old in Cibatok 2 Village, Bogor Regency. The total population is 114 people. Based on the results of the hypothesis, the results show that there is a significant difference in the knowledge of mothers about the care of children aged 13-24 months before and after using Laman Sahabat Keluarga. There are significant differences in maternal knowledge indicating changes and increases in maternal knowledge over a certain period. The concept of health education contained on the web page can also be a learning medium for individuals, groups, and communities so that from not knowing to know, from being unable to overcome health problems to be able. Therefore, Laman Sahabat Keluarga is very important in increasing Mother's knowledge of parenting with periodic effectiveness testing. The implication of the results of this study on the mother's knowledge is that the more and broader the mother's knowledge, the better her level of knowledge. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran tentang efektivitas Laman Sahabat Keluarga terhadap tingkat pengetahuan pengasuhan ibu pada anak usia 13-24 bulan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Cibatok, Kabupaten Bogor. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre-experimental dengan alternatif the one group pretest-posttest design. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah ibu yang memiliki anak usia 13-24 bulan di Desa Cibatok 2, Kabupaten Bogor. Adapun jumlah populasinya sebanyak 114 orang. Berdasarkan hasil hipotesis diperoleh hasil yang menunjukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pengetahuan ibu tentang pengasuhan anak usia 13-24 bulan sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan Laman Sahabat Keluarga. Terdapat perbedaan pengetahuan ibu yang signifikan menunjukkan perubahan dan peningkatan pengetahuan ibu dalam kurun waktu tertentu. Konsep pendidikan kesehatan yang terdapat dalam laman web juga dapat menjadi sebuah media belajar bagi individu, kelompok, dan masyarakat sehingga dari tidak tahu menjadi tahu, dari tidak mampu mengatasi masalah kesehatan menjadi mampu. Oleh karena itu, Laman Sahabat Keluarga sangat berperan dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan Ibu mengenai pengasuhan dengan pengujian efektivitas secara berkala. Implikasi hasil penelitian ini pada pengetahuan Ibu adalah semakin banyak dan luas pengetahuan yang ibu miliki maka semakin baik tingkat pengetahuannya.
