Though lecturing (speech) method is simpler for lecturer because simple class organization and he can control entire class direction, but its weakness is he difficult to know whether students have understood his discussion or not. Student’s learning effectiveness generally limited, only a critical moment near final test. One effort to support the improvement of learning quality is applying Student Centered Learning (SCL) approach. SCL is an activity that therein student work individually and also as group to exploring problems, searching knowledge actively rather than passive knowledge receiver. Learning method based on the SCL more appropriate to be applied at learning process in university, especially at Social Research Method course (MPS). Following John W. Best, “the best way to learn research is to do it,” so research method not only concerning cognitive domain, but also affective and psychomotor. Among learning technique based on SCL are jigsaw technique, hypothetical situation technique, and role-playing and simulation technique. .

Mathematics instructional in Junior High School (SMPN) 4 Baso, Agam conducted through lecture method. The student-centered learning has not been performed at instructional. Most of students (60%) have not been mastered of mathematics. One of the efforts to improve learning outcomes is to use the Pythagorean model as a learning media. This research aims to improve the learning outcomes of students used the Pythagorean model of the Pythagorean Theorem. The research used classroom action research design. The research subjects were VIII.1 grade students of SMPN 4 Baso, Agam in the 2015/2016 academic year of 20 students. Data collection instrument were tests and observation sheet. The test was used to know the learning outcomes of students in each cycle. Observation sheet was used to determine the instructional process at each cycle. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics. The results showed that: The average score of the students learning outcome in the first cycle of 66.5, the second cycle of 75.5 so that was increasing in the average score of the first cycle to the second cycle. Percentage of mastery learning of students in the first cycle of 60%, in the second cycle of 95%. Thus there was an improved of mastery learning of students from the first cycle to the second cycle. It can be concluded that the mathematics instructional by using Pythagoras models can improve to learning outcomes of students.

The act No. 14 of 2005, article 1, paragraph 1 states that the teachers are professional educators with the primary task of educating, teaching, guiding, directing, training, assessing and evaluating the students on the early childhood education, formal education, primary education, and middle educa- tion. The teachers are required to carry out the process of learning which includes exploration, elabo- ration and confirmation to change the educational paradigm, which is from the paradigm of teaching to the paradigm learning. The obstacle for the teachers is that because they have abandoned the strat- egy of teacher-centered learning (teacher center oriented) strategies in order to work on the student- centered learning orientation.

Industrial revolution 4.0 in the development of instructional media for Japanese  language learning is one of the demands of the era that cannot be avoided anymore. Devices that cannot be released from the students' hands make it seems like it's the only source to search for information or answer in the learning process. Learning Japanese is not only through textbooks, but students are able to develop the teaching materials in the form of narratives of tourism and cultural destinations in the city of Bandung using Japanese. Those narratives about the information of destinations are packaged into a website that can be accessed anytime and anywhere, as an interactive instructional media that can increase motivation and interest about the city of Bandung in Japanese. The development of this website is not only for Japanese learners, but also useful as a source of information for Japanese people who will visit the city of Bandung. The latest information about the city of Bandung using Japanese consists of historical sites, tourist attractions, museums, and culinary. Japanese learners can access them at any time and can be used as a medium for discussion, and learners can explain it again about the city of Bandung to their friends. This innovation of learning media is a solution in the era of industrial revolution 4.0 to improve Japanese language skills both orally and in writing.

Kata kunci: Adversity quotient, mahasiswa, student centered learning AbstractAdversity Quotient (AQ) is a form of measurement that used to determine a person’s ability to respond of challenges or difficulties as part of achieving a success in life. The challenges and difficulties for nursing students occurred when Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) has applied using Student Centered Learning (SCL) method. The purpose of this study was to explore the Adversity Quotient Force of nursing students from class of 2011 who applied CBC and SCL as their study method. The research method was descriptive quantitative. Samples were 142 nursing student from class of 2011 who chosen by total sampling technique. The data were collected using a modification of the Adversity Response Profile Quick TakeTM tools. The result showed the majority of Adversity Quotient of respondent who attended CBC with SCL method was in climber categories with 87 people (61.27%). The second majority was transition to a camper climber with 50 people (35.21%), and then followed by camper, camper quitter, and quitter with 5 persons (3.52%), 0 (0.00%), 0 (0.00%), respectively.Key words:Adversity quotient, students, student centered learning
