The definition of tourism “is the travel for recreational, leisure, family or business purposes, usually of a limited duration. Tourism is commonly associated with trans-national travel, but may also refer to travel to another location within the same country”. Tourism as an industry, in today’s modern language is a means of global communication between nations and travelers of all countries, introducing them to the various cultures and societies abroad, as well there history, ancient, historical sites, and languages. Hence, advertising overall has become a tool of necessity in this ever-growing global industry. Given that, tourism is a part of the infrastructure of any country’s economy the growth and development of tourism is of great importance. Advertising plays a vital and is a crucial tool in developing the countries tourism by attractively presenting the nations points-of-interests, historical and cultural. Advertising has a central role in expanding this industry, generating economic growth in this area, as well as creating direct and indirect employment, but most importantly a creative innovating competition in the national and international travel industry. Importantly, to achieve a successful tourist industry, the Travel Agencies and governmental offices of the Ministry’s of Tourism and Business must work hand-in-hand to attain these goals. This article shows the impact of the various media and advertising methods used in tourism, which assisted in identifying the correct tool for expanding the country’s industry of tourism. The results of this study illustrated that the appropriate tools for promotional strategies to attract domestic and foreign traveler’s, found to be the most effective were, handbook, internet advertising, TV, brochures, newspapers.

South Africa is now a democratic state and is being accepted in the community of nations. It has been shown that tourism can make a significant contribution to the development of this country by providing employment, contributing to foreign exchange earnings and by increased economic activity. The aim of this study was to establish the current perceptions of foreign tourist-industry representatives regarding South Africa as a tourist destination. The perceptions of 81 international travel-industry representatives were examined. The results show that South African tourism reflects a multidimentional problem. These factors need to be addressed in order for South Africa to have a vibrant and sustainable tourism industry.

Most experts would agree that recovery from the COVID-19 crisis will be slow (see Figure 6.2), in large part due to the impact that the crisis has had on the global travel and tourism industry (Romei, 2020). Until there is vaccine, the virus will influence nearly every sector of travel from transportation, destination and resorts, to the accommodations, attractions, events and restaurants. The first section of this chapter looks at the future for these different sectors, a future heavily influenced by technology and a heightened emphasis on health and safety. The second part of the chapter focuses on a theme that has been prevalent in this book – the need for adaptability or ‘COVID-aptability’. Consumer demands and behavior will be permanently altered by the pandemic, and all stakeholders in the travel industry will need to adapt. One part of adaptability is redesigning servicescapes – a necessity for many after the lockdown, and this is the subject of the penultimate section of the chapter. The conclusion looks at lessons learned from this crisis.

Corona virus originated from Wuhan city China has proliferated in such a way that it has made its presence in almost every country. This virus has impacted every industry such as manufacturing, service industry etc. It has put a great dent in the tourism and travel industry. It is assumed that tourism and travel can take a long time to recover. This impact of this varus has resulted in millions of job losses and took economy in negative figures. India, which was once considered to be the largest growing economy, has seen a double-digit negative growth.  The objective of this paper is to find the impact of pandemic on tourism industry. An extensive literature review resulted in three dimensions of microenvironment which have suffered in tourism industry. Results showed that the scale is reliable and valid. Pandemic has resulted in un-employment, reduced income of tourism and reduced traveller preference etc. Hypotheses were tested by calculating correlation coefficient, which showed that there is significant relationship among factors. This study will help managers and policy makers to make projections for profit margins and to build strategies to overcome the negative effect of pandemic on tourism.

This article represents current tendencies stemming from collapse in the price of oil, devaluation of the national currency, bilateral international sanctions after the accession of Crimea and events in Ukraine, the aggravation of political situation and closure of the main areas of outbound tourism, namely Turkey and Egypt. Such negative situation for the country in whole has some positive aspects of the impact on internal tourism development, especially in regions with favorable climatic conditions and developed material basis for the tourism industry. Primarily Kuban is among these regions. The region for decades has been asserting as a tourism and recreation complex with a unique specialization in sanatorium-and-spa treatment. It has great social and economic potential, developed infrastructure, natural conditions for the international specialization in tourism and for high-quality rest and treatment of Russian citizens. However, the analysis showed that advances in this direction are insufficient. Even with the favorable impact of external factors many development indicators of the region’s tourism industry in the pre-crisis time are lower than in 2005. The high cost of services that is beyond reach for many Russian citizens is one of the important obstacles for tourism development. Hotel services and usage of the sports infrastructure in Sochi and Krasnaya Polyana are more expensive than in foreign resorts, but are inferior in services, for example, to Austrian Innsbruck. The state regulation of the tourism industry, definition of the strategic objectives and development of mechanisms to achieve them are in need. Spontaneous development of the complex can cause damage and prevent to use region’s temporary factors and advantages in a difficult period for the country.

The ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) flare-up as of late caused overall neurosis because of its lethal nature. The COVID-19 pandemic has a worldwide effect, even in Indonesia itself, where one of the sectors most affected is the tourism industry. One of them is in Samigaluh, which is a sub-region in the Kulon Progo Rule. This place has nearby potential, for example, common excellence that can be offered as a vacation spot and an open door for the encompassing network. This examination is to research the viewpoint of the supervisors of vacation destinations in Samigaluh to see the effect of their work career. This research uses a qualitative method. The exploration information was gathered from the supervisors of the travel industry attractions in Samigaluh, and ten inquiries were given to the chief. Thirty travel industry coordinator in Samigaluh partook in the survey. The results of this study indicate that the perspective of tourist attractions manager in Samigaluh as a whole sees the COVID-19 pandemic having a bad impact on the tourism industry in Samigaluh because job careers are threatened. Therefore, ensuring the safety of guests and staff have become a top concern of the tourism and hospitality industry stakeholders. At the same time, in order to restore business losses and to rebuild a favourable picture in the eyes of the customers, it is necessary that good marketing is undertaken and promotional campaigns, both locally and internationally.Keywords: COVID-19, Nature Tourism, Manager, Samigaluh

The article provides an overview of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the tourism industry. The contribution of the tourism industry to GDP and employment of the population is also considered. In particular, the impact of the pandemic on insurance in tourism was considered. The tourism industry is one of those sectors of the Russian economy that was among the first to be hit by the novel coronavirus infection. We are talking about a blow not only viral, medical – after all, the first outbreak in Russia was a consequence of the return of citizens from foreign travel, but also a financial blow – due to the spread of COVID-19 around the world, current tours had to be interrupted, and those planned at a later date – cancel or reschedule. In such conditions, tour operators, travel agents, carriers and other participants in the tourist services market suffered serious losses.

In this study, we examine the viability of a Community Based Resource Management (CBRM) model to enhance the tourism industry. CBRM is a bottom-up model, which proposes active engagement in decision-making by stakeholders, especially local communities. The model currently implemented in most developing countries is top-down, wherein central governments are in charge of all decision-making without deliberate engagement of all stakeholders. The focus of this empirical study is on Egypt, Iran, Morocco, and Turkey (EIMT). All four countries have rich historical sites and prospects for advancement of their tourism industries, which could inherently bolster their economies. A survey was developed and disseminated through email. The resulting sample is considered to be ‘expert’ due to respondents reported international travel frequency. Additionally, approximately 80% of respondents have graduate degrees. Our empirical findings support core aspects of the CBRM model, which shows that active engagement of local persons and businesses helps in the protection of historic landmarks as well as fortifying each country’s tourism industry.

<p>The COVID-19 pandemic struck China in January 2020 and the rest of the world from February 2020 onwards. Public authorities enforced several kinds of lockdowns in order to limit the spread of the pandemic and reduce its impact on the health system: at the height of the first wave of the pandemic, more than one human in two was subjected to a lockdown, with associated disruption in local and international travel, industry, tourism etc. These lockdowns had a profound effect on anthropogenic emissions of aerosol, trace gases and greenhouse gases; in this work we focus on aerosols and a selection of trace gases.<br><br>The Integrated Forecasting System (IFS) of ECMWF is core of the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) to provide global analyses and forecasts of atmospheric composition, including reactive gases, as well as aerosol and greenhouse gases. In this work, we use two emission reduction scenario with an experimental version of the IFS in its CAMS configuration: a global and a European one.  Global simulations of aerosols were carried out with these two scenarii and compared to a reference simulation without any COVID-19 impact, and to worldwide observations of PM2.5, AOD and trace gases.<br><br>The simulated PM2.5 using the global emission reduction scenario were found to reproduce quite accurately the observed evolution over China, India and United States. Over Europe, the simulated PM2.5 using the European reduction scenario were closer to observations and appeared more realistic. India was the only place where a significant impact on AOD and on temperature and radiation from the COVID-19 lockdowns was simulated. These simulations also provided information on how the aerosol speciation was altered by the COVID-19 lockdowns: over Europe and the U.S., most of the decrease in surface aerosols was simulated to come from nitrate aerosols. Over the U.S., this matched well with observations of speciated aerosols at surface.</p>

In this article the authors set themselves a task to analyze the terrorism impact on the world tourism development. Description of terrorist attacks affecting the hospitality industry, mass media and Internet sources on mentioned problems over the past few years are the objects of analysis. The article deals with the theories explaining the impact of terrorism on tourism. The authors attempt to determine the motives of terrorists, as well as measures to ensure the safety of tourists. The authors conclude that the negative impact of terrorism on tourism development is reflected primarily at the micro-level, because exactly here there is a gradual development of the tourist industry, members of which are adapting to the new conditions. The hypothesis of the paramount importance of international tourism and intercultural dialogue in the fight against terrorism is advanced in the article. After reviewing the available information the authors have concluded that the resources for intercultural dialogue are actually scarce and inaccessible to most nations. These conclusions will find practical application in the work of tour operators, and the hypotheses advanced by the authors could be useful for both parties - the participants of tourism industry.

Introduction. The impact of globalization and convergence on the rapprochement of nations leads to an increase in the tourism role through strengthening human needs for socialization in today's information society. The underutilization of the domestic potential of the tourism industry necessitates its exploration to formulate directions for further development and growth. The purpose of the study is further development of the theoretical basis and conditions for the sustainable develop-ment of the tourism sector in the region. Results. The key issues of constant coordination and harmonization of human relations and environment are identi-fied in the context of sustainable tourism development by vectors of time and space. The alternative absence of sustainable tourism development paradigm has been proved. The concept of «sustainable development» is given. It is suggested to un-derstand the sustainable development of tourism as a development that can fully meet the needs of tourists in the present time, taking into account the interests of the tourist destination in expanding the reproduction of their own resource potential in the future. The determinants, criteria and general principles of the sustainable tourism development concept are defined. The interrelation of the criterion with the following components is justified: «availability – quality – safety» – their essence is disclosed. The role of tourism as a component of sustainable regional development is revealed. The types of sustainability that are inherent in tourism scenarios have been described. The basis of urgent problems of tourist development and recreational sphere of the region is monitored. The changes to tourism legislation developed by the Ministry of Economic Development has been considered. The re-sults of the tourist industry analysis of Ukraine by individual types are given. The low attractiveness of Ukraine as a tourist center has been proved, where the main reason is underdeveloped infrastructure, which requires considerable investment. The directions of development of individual segments of tourism are determined. The ways of brand developing of Ukraine as a tourist destination are considered.
