Purpose: This study analyzed the cultural and natural potentials that become tourism destinations in Gorontalo Regency, related to the attractiveness and problems of tourism, as well as the strategy to realize domestic and foreign tourism destinations. Methodology: This study used a qualitative approach with data collection methods through observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and focused group discussions. Meanwhile, researchers analyzed data by organizing data, grouping data, and analyzing normatively. Findings: Several tourism destinations in Gorontalo Regency are the Soekarno Landing Cultural Heritage House, Pentadio Resort, Limboto Lake, Embung Dumati, Bubohu Religious Tourism, Walima Emas Mosque, Dulanga Beach, and Taluhu Barakati. The tourism problems that exist are specific destinations in dirty conditions; infrastructure is minimal, the educational conditions of residents around tourism destinations are inadequate so that it affects the quality of service. Information on tourism destination objects to the public is still lacking and ineffective; access to roads and human resources managing tourism objects is inadequate. To make Gorontalo Regency a tourism destination, in addition to overcoming existing problems, the development of regional tourism potential is a necessity. Implications: This research is beneficial, both for policymakers, especially the Gorontalo Regency Government, businesses related to tourism, and the local community. The results are expected to increase synergy between local governments, businesses, and local communities. For Local Governments, the results of this study are expected to be an input for formulating policies that can encourage the attractiveness of domestic and foreign tourists. As for the business, the results of this study are expected to be taken into consideration to increase business investment in the tourism sector. Meanwhile, for local communities, the results of this study are expected to encourage local communities to love their local resources and culture more for their sustainability. Novelty: To realize a tourism destination both local and foreign, it is important to solve any problems that arise, as well as developing the existing regional tourism potential.

Tourism village is one of the tourism destinations that need to be developed. Brajan is a tourism village that has natural and cultural tourism potential. This village needs promotion in order to attract tourists. The aim of this study is to describe the basic elements of the tourism village and the marketing potential of Brajan as a tourism village. Data were collected through observation and interviews with the local communities in Brajan. After collecting the process, the data analyzed descriptively based on 6 basic elements of a tourism destination and marketing mix. The result showed that Brajan has a complete concept as a tourism destination. Moreover, this village has a lot of potential in terms of marketing. The stakeholders such as local people, manager and the Government need to developing and empowering its potential. The development of its potential is expected to have a positive impact and make the tourism village becomes a sustainable tourism destination

Purpose of the study: The empowerment of local communities is currently an interesting issue in tourism development. This study aims to examine the forms of involvement of local communities in Lake Toba and to analyze their level of participation. This research begins by identifying the tourism potential of Lake Toba through the attribute theory of tourist destinations (attraction, accessibility, amenities, accommodation, and ancillary service). Methodology: Multi-method approaches are used to examine this phenomenon. The qualitative method is conducted by non-participant observation in research locations to see the locals’ behavior in Lake Toba in terms of the acceptance of tourism activities. The quantitative method is conducted by distributing questionnaires with 90 randomly chosen respondents (local communities) regarding their perspective toward their participation in tourism development. The collected data will be processed and combined and will also be studied using Arnstein’s model as the main measuring instrument in discussing the level of local community participation in the destination. Main Findings: The result of this research is that Lake Toba has the potential to attribute tourist destinations on the 5A system. In terms of the level of local community participation, the community response to its involvement in tourism-destination attributes in Lake Toba can be categorized in the “partnership” phase. Applications of this study: The results of this study may be used as evaluation material regarding the local communities’ participation in Lake Toba on tourism destination development. The findings of this study may also be a reference for community-based tourism development in other destinations, to be oriented towards the effectiveness of active participation of local communities. The originality of the study: The paper is original, and this is the first study to examine the level of local communities’ participation in Lake Toba.

There Improvements in the local economy, especially for the poor through open and sustainable tourism management, are believed to be achieved through the empowerment of the tourism sector. Mapping the potential of village tourism in the Triharjo village area is one of the essential things. Identification and mapping of village tourism potential needed in order to implementation community-based tourism (CBT). This research aims to identifying and mapping the potential of village tourism in order to produce a profile of village tourism potential and identify opportunities for developing village tourism potential. The object of this study is Triharjo village, Pandak District, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta. This research was conducted with a qualitative approach. Collecting data in this study used several research instruments, such as in-depth interviews, focus group discussions (FGD), observations, and document studies. Based on research finding while the communities and local governments of Triharjo village recognize that not all village tourism potentials are well managed. The results of the mapping of village tourism potential provide them that the involvement of local communities in the planning and management of a village tourism potential is needed and have a positive impact on the longterm. The empowerment of the local economy, especially the poor, is believed to be achieved through the empowerment of the tourism sector. Community-based tourism emphasizes community ownership and active participation, provides education to local communities, promotes and protection of culture and the environment.

Sayan Village is one of the villages in Ubud that has a lot of potential to be used as a tourism village. The first three great potentials are natural tourism, potential opportunities for water tubing tourism, and also the potential of Puri Sayan as a heritage tourism object in Sayan Village, which is being planned by the village government and local communities. In addition to the three great potentials, Sayan Village also has the potential for water tourism with beji spring sources which are a source of water that is purified by the local community and is usually used for melukat. In this case, the researcher focused more on discussing the development of biology natural tourism which is currently used as the center of tourism village activities in Sayan Village. This study uses collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative analysis and SWOT analysis. The technique of determining informants used purposive sampling technique. The results of this study contain the existing conditions of Desa Sayan based on tourism product components, namely attractions, amenities, accessibility, and ancilliary. And the strategy for developing SWOT-based Sayan Tourism Village. So that the strategies obtained produce the best ways to realize one of the missions of Desa Sayan as a sustainable tourism village. Tabanan Regency has a high prospect in the development of tourism and its complementary facilities. Tourism village is the alternative tourism products that can provide the development of rural areas that are certainly sustainable for the future. Timpag Village is one of the villages which located in Kerambitan District, Tabanan Regency which has several tourism potentials such as nature, cultures, and the local communities. The development of Rural Tourism in Timpag Village has a high value to be a tourist attraction but the reality this village has not been able to be a developed as a rural tourism. Based on these problems this research aims to determine “Development Strategies of Rural Tourism Based Local Community in Timpag Village, Kerambitan District, Tabanan Regency Bali.” The research method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive analysis supported by IFAS and EFAS analysis in designing a strategy for developing local community-based tourism villages used SWOT analysis. Data collection techniques are using the method of observation, interviews, library research. The result show the design of alternative strategies to develop community-based tourism villages that can be applied in the development of Rural Tourism in Timpag Village. There are six altrenative strategys that can be applied such as attractions development based on tourism potential, local communities involvement , tourism facilities development, tourism organisation development, improve the traditional security system, and improve the ability of communities about tourism development. Introduction. Assessment of the development of tourism and recreation in local communities, identifying problems associated with the formation of a favorable environment for tourists and vacationers, as well as revealing the advantages and disadvantages of the institutional and organizational environment of tourism are possible only if we consider the local community as a holistic tourist destination. The main elements of legal support for the development of tourism in the community are legal and regulatory acts of public authorities and local governments. The purpose of the article is to analyze the features and identify the problems of institutional and organizational environment for the development of tourism and recreation in local communities in modern conditions. Methods. The authors used the methods of dialectical and formal logic in the article for study the essence of the institutional and organizational environment of tourism development in territorial communities; benchmarking method for determining the effectiveness of implemented reforms in the formation of local self-government; statistical methods for data visualization and organization; structural methods for assessing the existing processes of development of the tourism sector and identifying their main problems. Results. The article examines the legal environment for the development of tourism and recreation in local communities. The normative-legal acts which have a direct and indirect relation to the researched problem are allocated. In the context of the studied territorial communities, the main problems of tourism and recreation development are grouped based on a survey of domestic and foreign tourists. The reasons for the unsuccessful implementation of public-private partnership projects in the field of tourism and recreation in territorial communities are stipulated. The process and experience of organizing tourist activities in communities on a cluster basis, in particular those that have been operating in the market for a long time and those that have just begun to form, are studied. Their features and prospects for development are defined. Typical examples include clusters with a long history of operation, as well as recently formed ones. Based on the analysis of the development and functioning of tourism clusters in Ukraine, the main directions of development of this area in territorial communities are proposed.

Implementation of tourism destination development policy in Gresik Dsitrict in 2017. This study aims to determine the implementation of development policy of tourist destinations in Gresik regency. The reason this research is conducted is the potential of tourism destinations that support to be used as a place of tourism. The purpose of this study was conducted to find out how the implementation of tourism destination development in Gresik regency as well as to know what factors that drive and hinder the implementation of tourism destinations development in Gresik regency. This research uses descriptive research method using qualitative approach. Data collection using observation techniques, interviews, documentation and literature study. The results of this study indicate the existence of existing tourist destinations in Gresik regency management has not been perfected by Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaanbecause of the status of land that still belongs to the village. The driving factor for the development of tourist destinations is tourism potential in Gresik regency proper to be developed into tourism area. While the inhibiting factor is the problem of management that is constrained by the status of land still belongs to the community. Keywords: Implementation, tourist destination, Gresik regency

This study aims to explain the local government's strategy in tourism development in East Nusa Tenggara Province, with a focus on: identifying tourism potential; leading tourism areas and destinations; identification of tourism problems; and local government strategies to achieve successful tourism development. This research uses descriptive analysis method. Data were collected through literature studies and documentation studies. Data obtained from secondary data through internet footprints based on the website of the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Government and other related institutions. The results of the study concluded that first, West Nusa Tenggara Province was able to achieve the success of tourism development through a tourism potential identification strategy; determination of leading tourism destinations; stipulation of regional tourism strategy areas; and formulation of Regional Tourism Development Master Plans; The Tourism Office's Strategic Plan and the Tourism Office's Performance Plan, second, the tourism development planning system is formulated in stages, synergies and involves multi-stakeholders; third, sustainable tourism development through changing poor villages into tourist villages; fourth, developing tourism infrastructure and supporting facilities; marketing through tourism promotion; establish partnerships; improving the quality of tourism human resources; increasing the number and quality of tourism attractions. This study aims to identify tourism potential and a set of strategies for a competitive rural tourism development using a case study in Sukajadi Tourism Village, Bogor Regency, West Java. This study is a descriptive qualitative type with an exploratory case study approach. Primary data were obtained from deep field observation and interview with key informants, while secondary data was obtained from the results of literature studies and documentation. This research used identification analysis techniques of 11 tourism components modified from several experts, CHSE analysis, work program government (PROKER), market preferences, and SWOT analysis as well as SWOT Matrix. The result of this study was obtained great potential and 15 main strategies for the development of the Sukajadi Tourism Village which is currently starting to grow, namely making serious and aggressive efforts on the internal aspects of village tourism destination, as well as collaboration with tourism industry and local governments to create a competitive rural tourism destination. An active and aggressive strategy is needed for the development of Sukajadi village as a competitive rural tourism destination, based on micro and macro perspectives.

The tourism potential of Klayar Beach in Pacitan Regency is increasing along with the development of tourism programs in Indonesia which include the development of coastal areas as natural tourism destinations. The development of the coastal area for the development of the potential of local tourism based on nature requires a handling strategy that takes into account a number of considerations that are in harmony with the environment so that disaster-prone constraints can be minimized, including covering aspects of nature conservation. The strategy for developing Klayar Beach can be done through the application of the principles of Ecological Architecture. The research location in the Klayar Beach area is one of the 9 (nine) priority tourism destinations in the Regency of Pacitan. This study aims to find a regional structuring strategy with the application of the principles of ecological architecture, namely optimizing the value of regional potential and still considering the sustainability of nature. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method by conducting surveys through observation, interviews and comparing theories with relevant regulations. The results of the study are regional structuring strategies to develop the potential of Klayar Beach through structuring tourism areas in accordance with local elements and local culture as well as integrated nature conservation so that it becomes a sustainable tourism destination.
