<p>The issue of identity has attracted interest from many researchers in different fields. In contemporary practice in the visual arts, identity is a unique subject. Artists in Oman are fortunate to be able to rely on a rich cultural heritage, which enables them to produce work that is based on the unique Omani identity. In addition, there are concerns that the effects of globalization and the removal of geographical borders between nations will lead to the importation of Western styles and symbolism into Omani art. Where this has happened in other parts of the Arab world, some of the unique features of Arab principles and cultural beliefs have disappeared. Thus, this study aims to highlight the symbolism and significance of identity in the works of Omani painters. It investigates the role of Omani painters in preserving Omani identity by using a descriptive analysis method to examine a sample of Omani artwork. The results of this study show that Omani artists are involved in expressing their perceptions of identity in a variety of ways using a range of related symbols.</p>

Pengkalan Kuras, Langgam, Kuala Kampar, and Bunut Subdistrict, Pelalawan Regency. Petalangan tribe has various cultures in the traditions of life. A good introduction to cultural heritage by the next generation can strengthen the nation's tradition in responding to the increasingly severe challenges of the future in this era of globalization. Cultural heritage in the form of moral-spiritual inheritance, one of which is obtained and known through the tradition of belief in the traditional proverb that exists in the community. The traditional adage in the Petalangan community, among others, explains the perspective on community life. This study aims to describe the style of language in the customary proverb that is related to the perspective of life in society. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis method. The data source used was the book entitled Pepatah Adat, Istilah, dan Kosa kata Masyarakat Petalangan Kabupaten Pelalawan, Riau. There are 16 traditional proverbs used as data in this study, which then obtained 3 language styles based on sentence structure and 2 language styles based on meaning. By knowing and learning the style of language in this traditional proverb, the philosophy of life and aesthetic tastes of the people of Riau can be understood. Petalangan merupakan salah satu puak asli di Provinsi Riau yang bermukim di Kecamatan Pengkalan Kuras, Langgam, Kuala Kampar, dan Bunut, Kabupaten Pelalawan. Suku Petalangan ini memiliki beraneka kebudayaan dalam kehidupan. Pengenalan yang baik terhadap warisan kebudayaan oleh generasi penerus dapat memperteguh tradisi bangsa dalam menjawab tantangan masa depan yang semakin berat dalam era globalisasi ini. Warisan kebudayaan yang berupa warisan moral-spiritual, satu di antaranya didapatkan dan diketahui keyakinan terhadap pepatah adat yang ada pada masyarakat. Pepatah adat dalam masyarakat Petalangan antara lain menjelaskan cara pandang mengenai hidup bermasyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan gaya bahasa di dalam pepatah adat yang berhubungan dengan cara pandang dalam hidup bermasyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakanpendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis deskriptif. Sumber data yang digunakan adalah buku Pepatah Adat, Istilah, dan Kosa kata Masyarakat Petalangan Kabupaten Pelalawan, Riau. Terdapat 16 pepatah adat yang dijadikan data dalam penelitian ini, yang kemudian diperoleh 3 gaya bahasa berdasarkan struktur kalimat dan 2 gaya bahasa berdasarkan makna. Dengan mengetahui dan mempelajari gaya bahasa dalam pepatah adat ini dapat dipahami filsafat hidup dan cita rasa estetika masyarakat Riau.

Harmoni adalah suatu kondisi yang serasi dari perbedaan dan pluralitas yang kemudian dengan bentukaslinya masing-masing dapat saling menyesuaikan dan menyatu dengan seimbang. Dalam Budaya jawadisebut selaras, yaitu terciptanya kehidupan yang nyaman dan indah dalam keragaman. Salah satu wujudharmoni Jawa secara visual dapat terlihat di sebuah permukiman di Yogyakarta, yang merupakan suatuwilayah permukiman warisan budaya Jawa dari abad ke-17. Digunakan metode analisis deskriptif kualitatifyang bertujuan untuk memaparkan keterkaitan dan jalinan semua aspek pembentuk yang mencerminkanproses adaptasi sehingga terbentuk harmonisasi permukiman. Pada masa kini, permukiman ini memilikikeunikan yang khas yaitu sebuah bentuk permukiman yang merupakan perpaduan yang harmonis daritiga budaya, yaitu budaya Jawa, Islam, dan budaya modern. Kondisi yang terbangun karena masyarakatnyataat pada tradisi budaya Jawa dalam melakukan adaptasi terhadap perubahan dan perkembangan jaman. Harmony is a synchronous integration of differences and pluralities which in their respective original statessucceed in adjusting to each other thereby forming a balanced union. In the context of Javanese culturecalled selaras, namely is the creation of a comfortable and beautiful existence within a diversity. One ofthe visual forms of Javanese harmony can be observed in a residential settlement in Yogyakarta, an areaof Javanese cultural heritage from the 17th century. A qualitative descriptive analysis method was usedaimed to describe the interrelationships and interweaving of all forming aspects reflecting the adaptationprocess which enabled the creation of such harmonious condition in a residential settlement. Today, thissettlement possesses a unique characteristic, that takes the form of a residential settlement where threecultures, namely the Javanese, Islamic, and modern cultures, are blended in harmony. This conditiondeveloped as a result of the community’s adherence to Javanese cultural traditions during their adaptionto changes and developments over the course of time.

The background of this research is based on the efforts of the KPU of Karawang Regency in achieving the target of voter participation in the election of the Regional Head of Karawang Regency in 2015, where the KPU targets community participation around 72%. But from the results of the KPU recapitulation in Karawang Regency voter participation reached 67%. This indicates that the target of voter participation from the KPU of Karawang Regency was not achieved in the election of the regional head. This study uses descriptive analysis method to focus on a specific problem in detail. The focus of the research is: KPU's efforts in achieving the target of community participation in the Karawang District Election especially in Cibuaya District, Karawang Regency. The results of this study indicate that in planning achievement of voter participation target in the Karawang regency elections in 2015 Karawang Regency KPU did various things to direct voter participation, especially in terms of planning. Thus the role of the KPU in achieving the target of voter participation in the election of the Regional Head of Karawang Regency in 2015 in the District of Cibuaya has been done well.

This study aims to examine the effectiveness, contribution, local retribution on local revenue and the level of independence of Kota Pariaman. The data analysis method used in this research is quantitative descriptive analysis method. This method is a method of analysis by using the calculation of the financial data obtained to solve problems in accordance with the research objectives. The average level of regional independence in Kota Pariaman during 2014-2018 is 6.09% with a pattern of instructive relationships. It can be seen that the level of regional independence of Kota Pariaman is very low, only around 6% during 2014 to 2018 with a pattern of instructive relationships. This means that the city of Pariaman is very dependent on financial assistance from the center. the role of the central government is more dominant than the independence of the regional government.

Sejak kehadiran bangsa Eropa Khususnya Belanda di Nusantara, berbagai upaya dilakukan untuk menguasai perdagangan termasuk di Kepulauan Maluku sebagai sumber utama produksi cengkih. Latar historis ini dapat diamati melalui sebaran tinggalan arkeologi masa Kolonial yang ada di wilayah ini, salah satunya adalah Negeri Larike yang berada di pesisir barat Jazirah Leihitu. Melalui metode analisis deskriptif dan analogi sejarah, tulisan ini dimaksudkan untuk mengidentifikasi sebaran tinggalan arkeologi yang ada di Negeri Larike, serta peran wilayah Negeri Larike dalam konteks historis masa Kolonial. Hasil penelitian mengungkap bahwa terdapat beberapa tinggalan arkeologi yang ada di wilayah ini. Ragam tinggalan tersebut sekaligus memberi gambaran peran wilayah sebagai salah satu wilayah pemusatan produksi cengkih dan pusat administrasi pemerintahan Belanda untuk wilayah Pesisir Barat Jazirah Leihitu. Since the presence of Europeans Especially the Dutch in the archipelago, various attempts were made to control the trade, including in the Maluku Islands as the main source of production of cloves. This historical background can be observed through the distribution of archaeological remains of the colonial period in this region, one of which is the Larike Village located in the west coast of Leihitu Peninsula. Through descriptive analysis method and historical analogies, this paper is intended to identify the distribution  of archaeological remains exist in Larike Village, as well as the role of the territory Larike Village in historical context Colonial period. Results of the study revealed that there are several archaeological remains exist in this region. The remains variety as well as describing the role of the region as one of the area concentration clove production and administrative center of the Dutch government for the territory of the West Coast Leihitu Peninsula.

The purpose of this research is to identify and describe the shape of social capital that exist in the centers of craft bags and suitcases Tanggulangin. Identify the role of social capital in improve the effectiveness of employees in the center of bags and suitcases craft Tanggulangin. Identify the use of social capital by craftmen in their business development. Sampling method used in this study are done by purposive, decide the informant by selective informant. Data analysis method used is descriptive analysis. The result showed that social capital is formed in the industrial centers of bags and suitcases Tanggulangin started from family, relatives, neighbors and their friends, and grow together with local habit. The role of social capital to form a network, a sense of trust, social norms, leadership, and solidarity among employees and craftsmen in Tanggulangin. The benefits of social capital in the industrial centers of bags and suitcases in Tanggulangin found to form a good mutual cooperation among them, the knowledge transfer, and maintained good communication. Efforts to increase social capital is done by sharing the workload and remuneration managed transparently and in accordance with the capabilities and contributions of employees.

Abstract: The participation of women at work domain, does not only contributes in changing the mindset and economic structure of a region, but also has contributed greatly to family welfare. This research uses descriptive analysis method to analyze and describe the role of women in improving the economic welfare of the family in the perspective of maqashid syariah. Based on the results of the research, it is found that the implication is that the role of women is very positive in improving family welfare and in accordance with the objectives of Islam,; falah (prosperous in the world and the hereafter), and in accordance with the five main elements that must be maintained in Islam, namely hifz ad-din, hifz an. -nafs, hifz al-aql, hifz an-nasl, and hifz al-mall. Keywords: Islamic law, the role of women, family welfare.   Abstrak: Partisipasi peran perempuan dalam dalam dunia kerja tidak hanya berkontribusi terhadap berubahnya pola fikir dan tatanan perekonomian suatu daerah, akan tetapi juga telah memberikan kontribusi yang besar terhadap kesejahteraan keluarga. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif untuk menganalisis dan mendiskripsikan peran perempuan dalam peningkatan kesejahteraan ekonomi keluarga perspektif maqashid syariah. Berdasarkan dari hasil penelitian, ditemukan implikasi bahwa peran perempuan sangat positif dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan keluarga dan  sesuai dengan tujuan Islam yaitu falah (sejahtera dunia dan akhirat), serta sesuai dengan lima unsur pokok yang harus dijaga dalam islam, yakni hifz ad-din, hifz an-nafs, hifz al-aql, hifz an-nasl, dan hifz al-mall. Kata-kata kunci: hukum Islam, peran perempuan, kesejahteraan keluarga.

This study aims to explain the background of Darvies Rasjidin's artistic journey and the factors that influence the changes in his work. Darvies is an artist from West Sumatra who currently resides in Yogyakarta. Around the mid-70s his work was different from the current maistream that developed in West Sumatra, namely the Minang-themed surrealist. However, in the next period, he decided to move to Yogyakarta. His work changed style to a more contemporary. The research method used is qualitative descriptive analysis with a sociohistorical approach. The research data were obtained by means of interviews, browsing archives in the form of newspaper clippings, and documentation of works of art. The results showed that Darvies Rasjidin's background in his artistic journey was inseparable from his family environment, social arts institutions and the role of social actors who supported his creative process. Furthermore, the changes in Darvies Rasjidin's works in his artistic journey are influenced by factors of different economic demands, social environment, and artistic climate between West Sumatra and Yogyakarta.Keywords: sociohistorical, art painting.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplanasikan latar belakang perjalanan berkesenian Darvies Rasjidin dan faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi perubahan karyanya. Darvies merupakan seniman asal Sumatera Barat yang saat ini bermukim di Yogyakarta. Sekitar pertengahan tahun 70-an karyanya berbeda dari arus maistream yang berkembang di Sumatera Barat yaitu surealistik bertemakan Minang. Namun pada periode selanjutnya, ia memutuskan hijrah ke Yogyakarta. Karyanya mengalami perubahan dalam corak ke arah yang lebih kontemporer. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif bersifat analisis deskriptif dengan pendekatan sosiohistoris. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan cara wawancara, penjelajahan arsip berupa kliping koran, dan dokumentasi karya seni. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan latar belakang Darvies Rasjidin dalam perjalanan berkeseniannya tidak terlepas dari lingkungan keluarga, institusi sosial seni serta peran pelaku sosial yang mendukung proses kreatifnya. This article studied the creative dance model implementation in dance teaching for PGSD students, this article is formulated so that (1) PGSD Universitas Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa students know how to create children dance, (2) PGSD Universitas Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa students can create children dance by using creative dance model, (3) in the creation process, PGSD Universitas Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa students can develop their creative idea, (4) PGSD students become active, creative, and innovative students in the process of creating children dances. Additionally, this article also aims at analyzing the role of creative dance model in the creation of children dance in Dancing Art teaching. The creative dance model is often referred to as creation model. The approach used in this research is qualitative research which applied a descriptive analysis method aimed at describing, summarizing various conditions, various situations, or various social reality phenomena in the community. The data collection was conducted by means of observation, interview, and documentation. The product of this research would be a teaching model that can be used as a guide or manual in the process of construction and exploration of children dance to be used by PGSD students, especially PGSD Universitas Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa students.

This research aims to show the masculinity crisis experienced by a male character (a husband) due to the shift role of breadwinner in marriage in the short story "Huruf Terakhir" by Benny Arnas. This research is essential because it can demonstrate the impact of the wife's involvement to work in the public domain towards the husband's condition. This research is qualitative research by utilizing the concept of gender. Data collection techniques are carried out through document tracing on a short story "Huruf Terakhir" by Benny Arnas as the corpus.  The data obtained was analyzed using descriptive analysis method. The results showed that shifting role of breadwinner can cause a man (a husband) to experience a crisis of masculinity such as loss of independence, confidence, courage, assertiveness, and emotional control. The shifting role as breadwinner is also shown to open the opportunities for repression in women. Therefore, the research on the short story "Huruf Terakhir" is expected to contribute to the study of gender-sensitive literature, especially since it is able to show masculinity traits associated with the role of breadwinner can complicate men’s position and  potentially hinder women's freedom.
