This research aimed to evaluate the production performance of white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei with super-intensive culture on different rearing densities. The research was conducted at PT. Dewi Laut Aquaculture, Cikelet, Garut, West Java. As many of 8 ponds were used and divided into 2 groups based on the stock density of shrimp, 550 ind/m2 and 650 ind/m2, and reared for 99 days. The results showed that super-intensive shrimp culture at the density of 550–650 ind/m2 potentially produced shrimp with average body weight ranged from 15.91–19.31 g, survival rate 62.67–87.95%, growth 0.16 to 0.20 g/day, FCR 1.35–1.66, and productivity reach 5.55–9.19 kg/m2. There were no significant differences between the two stocking densities in body weight, growth, and feed conversion performance, while ponds with higher rearing density had better survival and productivity than ponds with lower rearing density. L. vannamei cultured at a density of 650 ind/m2 produces the best performance and most feasible to be applied in super-intensive white shrimp cultivation. Keywords: Litopenaeus vannamei, super-intensive, high-density, production performance   ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kinerja produksi udang vaname pada sistem super- intensif dengan padat penebaran berbeda. Penelitian dilaksanakan di tambak PT. Dewi Laut Aquaculture, Cikelet, Garut, Jawa Barat, menggunakan 8 petak tambak. Tambak dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok, masing-masing 4 petak tambak dengan padat tebar udang 550 ekor/m2 dan 4 petak tambak lainnya dengan padat tebar 650 ekor/m2 dengan masa pemeliharaan 99 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa budidaya udang vaname pada sistem super-intensif dengan padat tebar 550–650 ekor/m2 dapat menghasilkan udang dengan bobot rata-rata berkisar antara 15.91–19.31 g, sintasan 62.67–87.95%, pertumbuhan 0.16–0.20 g/hari, konversi pakan (FCR) 1.35–1.66, dan produktivitas mencapai 5.55–9.19 kg/m2. Tidak ada perbedaan nyata antara kedua padat penebaran pada kinerja bobot, pertumbuhan harian, dan FCR; sementara tambak dengan kepadatan tinggi memiliki nilai sintasan dan produktivitas yang lebih tinggi dari tambak dengan kepadatan rendah. Padat penebaran 650 ekor/m2 menghasilkan kinerja produksi terbaik dan paling layak untuk diaplikasikan dalam budidaya udang vaname super-intensif. This experimental study aims to evaluate the use of Indigofera leaves that have undergone cocktail enzyme treatment in male Mojosari duck feed. The research treatment was using Indigofera leaves due to enzyme cocktail treatment on male Mojosari duck feed with four levels: 0, 5, 10 and 15% of total feed, with six replications (@ five ducks) using 120 ducks in a completely randomized design. The variables measured and observed in this study were the production performance of male ducks, which included feed consumption, body weight growth, feed conversion. The research results were processed by analysis of variance (ANCOVA) because the coefficient of variation in initial body weight was 17.7%. The results showed that the addition of Indigofera leaf meal to the feed of male Mojosari ducks tended to reduce feed consumption (P<0.01) and body weight gain (P<0.05) but did not increase the FCR value (P>0.05). Indigofera flour needs to be processed first with a cocktail enzyme treatment to improve its nutritional quality so that it can be used as feed for ducks in larger quantities. Male Mojosari ducks that are kept need to be harvested at more than seven weeks to get a higher harvest weight.

<p class="BasicParagraph" align="center"><strong>ABSTRACT</strong></p><p class="BasicParagraph" align="center"><strong> </strong></p><p class="BasicParagraph">The increasing demand of white shrimp <em>Litopenaeus vannamei</em> requires the application of intensive culture system. However, intensive culture system of white shrimp could increase the risk of disease outbreak. The application of sinbiotic may provide solution to the problem. This study was aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the use of technical sinbiotic on the survival and growth of white shrimp in ponds. This study consisted of four treatments; treatment K (control), treatment A (probiotic 0.5% and prebiotic 1%), treatment B (probiotic 1% and prebiotic 2%), and treatment C (probiotic 2% and prebiotic 4%). The results showed that administration of sinbiotic had no significant differences on survival rate, growth rate, feed conversion ratio, size, and biomass of shrimp (P&gt;0.05). Namun demikian sistem intensif pada budidaya udang vaname dapat meningkatkan risiko timbulnya penyakit. Penggunaan sinbiotik diharapkan dapat memberikan solusi dalam mengatasi masalah tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas penggunaan sinbiotik teknis terhadap sintasan, pertumbuhan, dan keuntungan usaha udang vaname yang dipelihara di tambak. Penelitian ini terdiri atas empat perlakuan, yaitu perlakuan K (kontrol), perlakuan A (probiotik 0,5% dan prebiotik 1%), perlakuan B (probiotik 1% dan prebiotik 2%), dan perlakuan C (probiotik 2% dan prebiotik 4%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian sinbiotik tidak berbeda nyata dalam nilai sintasan, laju pertumbuhan, rasio konversi pakan, <em>size</em>, dan biomassa udang (P&gt;0,05). The present study proposes to examine the effect of dietary levels of metabolizable energy, under a fixed nutrient:calorie ratio, on the production performance; body fat and protein deposition; and carcass characteristics of free-range broilers from 1 to 84 days of age. Nine hundred unsexed chicks were allocated to six treatments in a completely randomized design with six replicates of 25 birds each. Treatments consisted of diets with varying levels of metabolizable energy (2700, 2800, 2900, 3000, 3100 and 3200 Kcal ME/kg of diet) and a fixed proportion of nutrients relative to the energy level according to the nutritional requirements for each rearing phase. Body weight, weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion, production viability, metabolizable energy intake, protein intake, lysine intake, body fat deposition, body protein deposition and carcass characteristics were evaluated. Data were subjected to analysis of variance and, later, to regression analysis. Increasing levels of metabolizable energy, coupled with a fixed nutrient:calorie ratio, reduced feed intake, increased body weight and weight gain, improved feed conversion and did not affect carcass characteristics. In conclusion, adjusting the nutrient supply according to the dietary energy level improves production performance by improving feed conversion, ensuring adequate nutrient intake and preserving fat and protein deposition in the carcass when the metabolizable energy level is raised up to 3200 Kcal/kg in all rearing stages.

<em>This study aimed to determine the best dose of administration of marine fungal <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Nodulisporium</span> sp. KT29 metabolites to improve the production performance of marine culture of white shrimp. The experimental animals used were white shrimp <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Litopenaeus</span> <span style="text-decoration: underline;">vannamei</span> post larvae 12, which were reared in the sea using floating net cages with a stocking density of 700 post larvae/net. Experimental design used was a completely randomized design consisting of 3 treatments with 3 replications; control without the administration of <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Nodulisporium</span> sp. KT29 metabolites, dietary of feed containing <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Nodulisporium</span> sp. KT29 metabolites at doses of 20 mL/kg of feed and 40 mL/kg of feed. The results showed that survival rate, absolute length growth, weight gain, daily growth rate and feed conversion ratio in treatment groups were better than the control (P&lt;0.05). The administration of marine fungal <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Nodulisporium</span> sp. KT29 metabolites at a dose of 20 mL/kg of feed could improve the production performance of white shrimp cultivated in the sea with survival rate, daily growth rate and feed conversion ratio: 66.61±6.94%, 20.18±0.39 %/day and 3.20±0.22, respectively.</em>

Vannamei shrimp is a fishery commodity that has important economic value for Indonesia. This is indicated by the increasing number and value of exports of this commodity. One of the efforts to encourage the production of vaname shrimp is through the use of probiotics. sanolife-MIC is a probiotic widely used in shrimp culture. The aim of the study was to analyze the feed profile and biological performance of Vaname PL 10 shrimp fed pellets with the Sanolife MIC-S probiotic capsule at different doses. The research method used is an experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments (A: probiotic 0 gr/kg feed; B: probiotic 10 gr/kg feed; C: probiotic 12 gr/kg feed; D: probiotic 14 g/kg feed) and three replicates. What was tested in the study were probiotic profile tests, growth, feed efficiency and feed conversion. The data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA. The results showed that the feed profile that was encapsulated using sanolife MIC-S, the protein value, moisture content and ash content for the feed were shown by treatment B. The best fat content was treatment C. The best crude fiber content was treatment D. Weight growth rate, ratio The best feed conversion and feed efficiency was shown by treatment B, while the length growth and survival was indicated by treatment C.

The Chicken broiler is a type of superior race chicken that has high genetic properties, especially in growth. The use of herbs as medicines in medicine is now starting to increase, which is evident from the many traditional drugs manufacturers on the market. One of the herbs that can be used as an antibiotic for livestock is basil (Ocimum sp). Basil contains beta-carotene (provitamin A), which supports the function of vision, improves antibody function (influences immune function), protein synthesis to support growth process and as the antioxidant (Adnyana and Firmansyah, 2006). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the addition of basil leaves flour up to 12% level against broiler performance. The experiment was carried out experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD). The results of statistical analysis showed that the addition of basil meal powder into the feed did not affect to feed consumption between levels (P> 0). The result of the statistical analysis showed that the addition of basil meal powder into the feed had no effect (P> 0,05) to the increase in body weight. The result of the statistical analysis showed that the treatment with the addition of basil powder into the feed had no effect (P> 0,05) to feed conversion. The result of this research can be concluded that the addition of basil powder into feed up to 12% level did not give significantly different effect on production performance such as feed consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion of the broiler.

This research aimed to observe the interaction of methionine-cysteine amino acid supplementation to decrease the effect of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) on diet against production performance of broiler chicken. A number of 240 mixed sex broiler chickens were treated in 9 treatments by factorial design 3 x 3 with methionine-cysteine amino acid (M+C) (75,100, dan 125%) factors and AFB1 levels (0, 200, dan 400 ppb). Variables observed were: Weight gain, feed consumption, and feed conversion ratio (FCR). The results showed that increased AFB1 content in diet from 0 to 400 ppb increased chicken body weight (P <0.05) in each age group. The high body weight was balanced with high feed consumption along with increased nutrient needs, mainly sulfuric amino acid (M+C) as the precursor of glutathione to eliminate toxic through conjugation reactions. The interaction effect was firstly occurred between M + C and AFB1 treatment (P <0.05). Meanwhile increased supplementation of M + C from 75 to 125% caused decreased feed consumption in each age group of chickens, but increased AFB1 levels further increased feed consumption (P<0.05). The interaction effect between the level of M + C and AFB1 contamination in diets on feed consumption were seen in 21-day-old chickens (P<0.05). FCR was also increased (P <0.05) with the reduction of M + C content in diet at 7 days old. The effect of AFB1 on diet and interaction between M + C and AFB1 on chicken FCR in this study was not significant in all age groups. It can be concluded from the current study that supplying methionine-cystine amino acid with 75, 100 and 125% in AFB1 contaminated diet of 0, 200 and 400 ppb improves the performance of broiler chicken production.

To reduce broiler production cost, a study was carried out on utilisation of alternative, less costly feed components, namely kepok banana peel and corn hominy which were mixed and fermented using the fungus Rhizopus oryzae. The fermented substrate was added into commercial feed in order to determine its influence on the poultry’s production performance. This study employed a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments: one using 100% pure commercial feed, and the other three commercial feed mixed with the fermented feed component at the levels of 5%, 10% and 15%. All treatments were repeated four times during 25 days growth period. The results showed that supplementation of the fermented ingredient in the broiler ration at the levels of 5%, 10%, or 15% had no significant effect (P>0,05) on the feed consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion ratio, and the final body weight of the animals. Although mixing the fermented feed ingredient up to 15% in the commercial feed promoted the growth of the broilers, the results were not yet comparable to pure commercial feed.Keywords: Corn hominy, broiler, fermentation, kepok banana peel, Rhizopus oryzae AbstrakUntuk mengurangi biaya produksi ayam pedaging, dilakukan pengkajian penggunaan bahan penyusun pakan alternatif yang lebih murah, yaitu kulit pisang kepok dan ampok jagung yang dicampur dan difermentasi menggunakan jamur Rhizopus oryzae. Hasil fermentasi tersebut lalu ditambahkan pada pakan komersial ayam pedaging dengan tujuan mengetahui pengaruhnya terhadap penampilan produksi ayam pedaging. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan, yaitu satu perlakuan 100% pakan komersial murni, dan tiga perlakuan pakan komersial yang dicampur bahan pakan hasil fermentasi tersebut dengan kadar 5%, 10%, dan 15%. Seluruh perlakukan diulang empat kali selama 25 hari masa pemeliharaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan bahan pakan terfermentasi ke dalam ransum ayam pedaging pada kadar 5%, 10%, atau 15% tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan, nilai koversi pakan, dan bobot badan akhir hewan. Meskipun penambahan bahan pakan fermentasi tersebut hingga 15% dalam pakan komersial mendukung pertumbuhan ayam pedaging, namun capaian pertumbuhannya belumlah sebaik pakan komersial.Kata kunci: Ampok jagung, ayam pedaging, fermentasi, kulit pisang kepok, Rhizopus oryzae
