Formative experiences: methodological findings of training processes performed during the pandemic

The pandemic has significantly impacted societies' ways of living around the world, reconfiguring everyday practices, including educational ones. Teachers had to become researchers open to experimentation with methodologies and technologies present in digital cultures and the formative experiences of the period became fertile fields of research for education. In this article, we share the methodological didactic findings found in the training process entitled "Use of Digital Interfaces for the Development of Pedagogical Practices in Times of Ubiquity", conducted by members of the Research Group on Education and Digital Cultures (E-CULT) at the Federal University of Sergipe in partnership with CESAD (UFS). It is a qualitative research with methodological approach in Research-Training in Cyberculture and dialogues with the foundations of multi-referentiality and complexity. The main methodological findings, which we analyze analytically, are: "Deconstruction of Hierarchies", "Insertion of Playfulness" and "Relay of Protagonism".

Waswas atau kecelaruan obsesif-kompulsif (OCD) merupakan antara sepuluh beban penyakit utama di seluruh dunia yang diklasifikasikan oleh World Health Organization (WHO) (Murray, 1996). Sehubungan itu, kupasan terhadap isu waswas ini dari aspek rawatan dan penyelidikan banyak dirujuk kepada psikiatri moden dan klinikal psikologi. Walaubagaimanapun pendekatan rawatan waswas menurut sarjana Islam di era ketamadunan Islam kurang diketengahkan kepada masyarakat. Justeru, objektif kajian adalah untuk mengumpul dan mengenal pasti fokus rawatan waswas oleh sarjana Islam pada abad ke 8 sehingga abad 19 Masihi di bawah pemerintahan khilafah Islam berteraskan empat domain hidup iaitu biologi, psikologi, sosial dan spiritual. Manakala dari aspek metode, kajian mengaplikasi sepenuhnya kajian kualitatif berasaskan dokumentasi. Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa terdapat sebanyak 10 terapi berasaskan biologi, 6 pendekatan psikologi, 3 pendekatan bersifat sosial dan 2 amalan beserta 8 doa sebagai pendekatan rawatan secara spiritual. Penemuan ini amat berharga kepada masyarakat Islam kerana keperluan dalam keseimbangan empat elemen ini penting bagi mengatasi masalah waswas dan tidak hanya tertumpu kepada pendekatan rawatan bersifat spiritual.Abstract: Waswas or obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is one of ten major illnesses worldwide are classified by the World Health Organization (WHO) (Murray, 1996). In this regard, the focus on this issue of treatment and research has been widely referred to modern psychiatry and clinical psychology. However, waswas treatment based on Islamic scholars in Islamic civilisation era less highlighted to the community. Thus, the objective of the study is to collect and identify the focus of waswas treatment by Islamic scholars in 8 century until 19 century under the reign of Caliph of Islam is based on four domains of life that is biological, psychological, social and spiritual. While, the methodological approach taken in this study is a qualitative research through documentation. The findings show that there are 10 biological-based therapies, 6 psychological approaches, 3 social approaches and 2 practices and 8 dua’ as a spiritual approach. These findings are very very valuable to the Muslim community because the needs in this important balance four elements to overcome waswas and not just focused on spiritual approaches.

This article makes the case for multispecies autoethnography as a methodological approach in qualitative research involving other species. Multispecies autoethnography can work to address the persistent anthropocentrism in multispecies methods and offer a richer understanding of the way humans are implicated in the lives and deaths of other animals. I use a brief sketch of the experience of raising “backyard chickens” to illustrate what multispecies autoethnography might do in the world and for more ethical practices of research. Ultimately, this article argues for an explicitly anti-anthropocentric approach to research, scholarship, and living that might expand possibilities for more just, ethical, and caring multispecies worlds.

Este artigo apresenta o resultado de um processo de pesquisa-formação em que a bordadeira de Ivoti/RS, Celita Holler, narra e borda aspectos de sua história de vida que corraboram para a sua afirmação “Bordar é minha vida, meu alimento, minha arte, meu sonho, meu alento”. A mulher, detentora do conhecimento do modo de bordar, não guarda apenas o modo de fazer os riscos (desenho), os pontos e de escolher as cores. O guardar se constitui como parte de sua práxis social, evidenciando sua visão de mundo, seus valores culturais, religiosos, sociais, políticos. Com seu conhecimento, Celita contribui na preservação cultural do Wandschoner, trazido à sua cidade por famílias imigrantes alemãs.This article presents the result of a research-training process in which Ivoti / RS embroiderer, Celita Holler, narrates and edges aspects of her life history that corroborate her statement "Embroidering is my life, my food, My art, my dream, my breath". The woman, who knows how to embroider, does not only keep the way of making the scratches (drawing), the stitches and choosing the colors. The saving is constituted as part of its social praxis, evidencing its vision of the world, its cultural, religious, social, political values. With his knowledge, Celita contributes to the cultural preservation of the Wandschoner, brought to his city by German immigrant families.

This paper addresses the fields of social and service design in development contexts, practice-based and constructive design research. A framework for social design for services will be explored through the survey of existing literature, specifically by drawing on eight doctoral theses that were produced by the World Design research group. The work of World Design researcher-designers was guided by a strong ethos of social and service design for development in marginalised communities. The paper also draws on a case study in Namibia and South Africa titled ‘My Dream World’. This case study presents a good example of how the social design for services framework functions in practice during experimentation and research in the field. The social design for services framework transfers the World Design group’s research results into practical action, providing a tool for the facilitation of design and research processes for sustainable development in marginal contexts.

The purpose of the article is to analyze and substantiate the development of tourism business in Ukraine as a priority component of the national economy. The methodology of this study is to use analytical, spatial, geographical, cultural and other methods. This methodological approach provided an opportunity to carry out a complete analysis of the state of the tourism industry of the state and to draw some conclusions.The scientific novelty lies in the coverage of the real and potential resource potential for the development of the recreational and tourism sphere in Ukraine, detailing the measures for the country ‘s entry into the world tourist market. Conclusions. Analyzing the state and prospects of tourism business development in Ukraine, it should be noted that this industry is one of the priority areas for improving the economy of the country. Historical, cultural – ethnographic, gastronomic, sanatorium and resort potentials of the country will lead the country into world leaders of the tourism industry when creating favorable conditions for investment and proper marketing.

Embodied Pedagogy

Through narratives and critical interrogations of classroom interactions, I sketch an argument for a co-constitutive relationship between qualitative research and pedagogy that imagines a more reflexive and socially just world. Through story, one comes to see an interplay between one's own experiences, one's own desires and one's community — I seek to focus that potential into an embodied pedagogy that highlights power and, as a result, holds all of us accountable for our own situated-ness in systems of power in ways that grant us potential places from which to enact change. Key in this discussion is a careful analytical point of view for seeing the world and a set of practices that work to imagine new ways of talking back.

Haute cuisine is emblematic in the world of tourism and is of fundamental importance in the economic and social life in most countries worldwide. Haute cuisine gastronomic experiences play with the senses, involving the diner, thus generating a unique experience for the customer. This empirical study aims to analyze the influence on the consumer of the characteristic stimuli of a high-level gastronomic experience in a restaurant with two Michelin stars. Using neuromarketing biometrics, combined with a qualitative research technique, the objective of this research was to determine the emotional impact of the presentation and tasting of dishes compared to wines and to draw conclusions about each variable in the general experience. The results indicate that the dishes have a greater influence on the level of interest than the wines, and both have a different emotional impact at different moments of the experience due to its duration.

The Journal of Applied Behavioral Science is in the enviable position of being a go-to journal for many readers seeking useable insights for solving practical problems in managing modern organizations. A perennial source of such knowledge has been case studies, but case studies have been treated as questionable sources of widely applicable knowledge because they have been assumed to be idiosyncratic and to lack adequate “scientific” rigor. In this brief article, I argue for using a methodological approach to studying single cases that addresses both these thorny problems.

The fashion industry being one of the most polluting industries in the world means that it is an industry with an immense potential for change. Consumers are central and are closely intertwined with how companies act. This research reflects consumer perspectives and practices towards the topic of sustainability implemented in the fashion industry. The relevance of sustainability in the fashion industry and the key role of consumers in its implementation are undeniable and confirmed by consumers in a representation of general awareness and concern, despite not always being translated into actual practices. A qualitative research methodology, followed by a set of interviews conducted with consumers, revealed that the great majority are implementing a variety of practices when making their buying choices towards fashion items. Barriers such as lack of education, information, knowledge and transparency were identified, and this aspect was shared by consumers as a reason why they are not motivated to make more conscious decisions. Companies should educate consumers from a general perspective and focus on the group of consumers that are not implementing sustainability in the fashion industry in their buying choices, as they represent the potential for the future.
