This article discusses some of the Sufism concepts, al-walayah, al-khalwah, al-dhikr, al-tafakkur and al-tawakkal according to Al-Tha'alibi, Muslim scholar from Algeria in the 8th and 9th centuries in Tafsi>r Al-Jawa>hir al-H{isa>n fi> Tafsi>r al-Qur'a>n. Using the descriptive-analytic method, this literature study found that Al-Tha'alibi in his tafsir in interpreting the verses was influenced by Sufi scholars who supported the Sunni Sufi concept, namely the Sufi way of life guided by al- Qur`an, Hadith, and the journey of life of the Companions and Salaf al-Ummah. As a Sufi and 'a>lim fi> al-di>n, Al-Tha'alibi certainly practiced the Sufi life patterns according to what he believed, namely the Sunni Sufi which was different from the Sufi understanding practiced by the majority of the Algerian population at that time which was considered to have come out of many demands Islam. It is caused by political, economic, and social conditions that are unstable and have a significant impact on the religious life of the Algerian population, especially in the understanding and practice of Sufism.

Malene Molding: Back to the Street: Young People Living in the Streets of Nairobi The article deals with people who live and work on the streets of Nairobi, Kenya. It is based on fieldwork conducted in 1995-1996 by the author, who at that time was working at a rehabilitation centre for Street giris. The article aims to identify pull-factors, i.e. factors which, to young people, make Street life appear as an attractive alternative to other apparently desirable lifestyles. Thus, it differs in focus from other studies aiming to identify and explain so-called push factors, i.e. factors such as political, economic or social conditions that initially cause young people to choose to leave home and take to the streets. Inspired by sociologist Pierre Bourdieu, the author regards Street life as a lifestyle that unfolds in a social field characterised by specific codes of conduct and competitive social positions of symbolic Capital. By introducing the concept of “Street life expertise” and discussing its linkage to motivation and identification, the author argues that Street life appears attractive to people who have established social com- children’s bodily experiences, are shown to be in conflict with the children’s perspectives.

The pastor cannot be separated from his ministry life. In the church, the pastor is a leader, the attitudes and actions of pastors are often imitated by their congregation. Therefore, the pastor must maintain the attitudes and actions of his congregation as well as possible, the most important thing is that he must be able to set an example for others. For this reason, this article describes Paul's life teaching in serving as the goal in this writing which is beneficial for the implementation of the shepherd in serving God and others. Using descriptive qualitative method with literature study and analysis approach. So it can be concluded that the implementation of teaching about the life of the Apostle Paul in serving is based on 2 Timothy 3:10-17, among others: The Apostle Paul's Way of Life (Verse 10a). The Patience of the Apostle Paul (Verse 10b). The love of the Apostle Paul (Verse 10c). Perseverance of the Apostle Paul (Verse 10d). Live Hold on to the truth (Verse 14). Seek to know the Scriptures (Verse 15a). Wisdom (Verse 15b). Faith in Jesus (Verse 15). Living in the Word (Verse 16) Willing to Teach God's Word (Verse 16a). Willing to admit mistakes (Verse 16b). Willing to correct behavior (Verse 16c). Willing to be educated in the truth (Verse 16d). Willing to do good (Verse 17). All of this can be a guide for pastors in implementing Paul's teachings for the church and its ministry entrusted by God.

This paper described the formulation of Yūsuf al-Qarḍāwī's isntinbāṭ method towards moderate fiqh. The choice of this theme was based on the existence of two demeanours in religion, between permissive and inclusive. Two main questions in this research were, first, how did Yūsuf al-Qarḍāwī formulate the istinbāṭ method for moderate fiqh? Second, how is the implementation of this method in formulating Islamic law? This paper concluded two things through a literature study with the descriptive-analytic method. First, there were six formulations of the istinbāṭ method for the moderation of Islamic law. a. Examining the maqāṣid contained in the text before determining Islamic law, b. Linking texts and Islamic law with texts and other Islamic laws. c. Understanding texts in the frame of asbāb (al-nuzūl or al-wurūd), both micro and macro. d. Distinguishing between constant maqāṣids and changing instruments. e. Adjusting between al-thawābit and al-mutaghayyirāt. f. Observing the difference between worship and mu’āmalah in terms of wisdom, ‘illah and maqāṣid. Second, this method of istinbāṭ could produce fiqh with a flexible, elastic, dynamic, adaptive, and easy-to-practice.

The results provide evidence that COVID-19 is a significant factor influenced the consumption of two leading media in Russia - television and the Internet. Since the pandemic is a global phenomenon, the study of the Russian media usage is conducted taking into account international media trends. The research indicates that the pandemic reinforced existing media consumption patterns or reversed them. Authors argued that technological communication innovations of the last decade have played an important role in this regard. It is shown that the trend of reducing the duration of audience viewership, which was previously inherent in television, was reversed during the 2020 pandemic. The results reported that the long term trend  of increasing the duration of Internet use continued. This is especially true for online video segment. The significant increase in media consumption was observed during the first wave of morbidity and the introduction of quarantine measures. The pandemic has changed the socio-psychological atmosphere in society, influenced people’s way of life, which has led to the intensification of information processes in society. Media convergence processes gained additional momentum in the year of the pandemic. Mentioned above leads to deepening of mediatization. User screens of TVs, smartphones and other devices now form a unified space of struggle for the attention of the audience. This increases competition between traditional TV companies and global technological platforms, and has significant political, economic, and socio-cultural consequences.

Abstract The subject of this article points beyond a purely literary or literary-historical approach. The question is, whether and how a human being is able to change the (social) conditions of their life by changing himself through transition into another form of existence. In order to overcome established (social) conditions and one’s self, it is necessary to begin with a vision, a utopian dream. Those who pursue the utopian dream of overcoming their current (social) conditions must acknowledge their own good and evil, that is, their position vis-à-vis equality and justice, law and morality. The person itself, and its personality, is revealed in the relation between the utopia of changing its current way of life and its social reality. The ultimate question is: what is the essence of humanity, the ecce homo? Both the transition into a new form of being and the utopian dream differ decisively in Don Quixote and Zarathustra. It is not my concern to compare them as literary figures.

Following their foundation in the thirteenth century, the mendicant Orders came to occupy an increasingly important role in the religious life of the medieval city. The mendicant spiritual mission and way of life was arduous, and the prayer and preaching which filled (or ought to have filled) a friar’s working and waking hours demanded both strength and stamina. As a result of these demands, the leaders of the Orders had to ensure that those men whom they admitted as their brothers were physically capable of undertaking their intended duties. This paper accordingly considers the idea of the ‘use and abuse of time’ by approaching some of the questions concerning health and fitness as requirements for the friars of the Franciscan and Dominican Orders.

To our daughter Immena whom we give to God and to be clothed as a nun (sanctimonialis)… for the fear of God, and so that souls fighting for Christ can receive a remedy for their sins through our intermission …’. An aristocratic couple decide to give two of their children (a boy, as well as this girl) to the religious life, and their intention is recorded in a private charter. Lands which have been set aside for the economic support of Immena and her brother are listed at length; then the document concludes with the statement that the two donors, Count Rodulf and Aiga, his wife, ‘requested this concession to be made in the month of November in the tenth year of the reign of our most serene lord Louis, Emperor Augustus’ (that is, the Emperor Louis the Pious, AD 823). A girl is being given to God. Her entry into this new way of life is solemnized by a ceremony in which she will be dressed in clothes appropriate for her withdrawal from the ‘profane’ world: she will almost certainly be veiled in black or purple—although at this time that was a matter for debate in ecclesiastical legislation. The charter may also be interpreted as recording a ‘rite of passage’ which seems to signal Immena’s ‘aggregation’ into a new sacred community, and her separation from the social world of her kin.

In the past 20-30 years, industrialization and informatization made the society more complicated and social conflicts more difficult to deal with; citizens and their demands diversified, and we are now in urgent need of a new public administration model that suits the changed political, economic, and social conditions. Governance thus emerged worldwide, promoting government reforms and public participation, and urging the government to delegate and empower, and quit the fields that they are not good at managing. Scholars discuss the reasons for the emergence of governance from the perspectives of managerialism, the rise of civil society, and administrative reforms. But these are not the only reasons for governance to rise to prominence. It emerged, in a way, in response to the “legitimation crisis” described by Jurgen Habermas. As society develops, citizens require more legitimacy from the government on the basis of what it already provides, and this may involve performance, participation, responsiveness, law-based administration, etc. We hereby analyze the legitimation crisis in a postmodern society and point out that the paradigm of social co-governance is a response to these legitimacy demands and that multiple parties integrate their demands using governance tools such as participation, consultation, empowerment, etc.
