The purpose of this study was to explore the competence and understand the principal's strategy in improving the quality of teacher competence at SMA Islam As Sakinah Sidoarjo, the obstacles faced by the principal in improving the quality of teachers, as well as the principal's strategy in overcoming the obstacles which appear in efforts to improve the quality of teachers at SMA Islam As Sakinah Sidoarjo. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The research subjects were determined purposively, they are the principal and teachers of SMA Islam As Sakinah Sidoarjo. Observation, interview and documentation are data collection techniques. Reduction data, display data, and conclusion are the steps of data analysis. To check the validity of the data using source triangulation and discussion with the supervising lecturer. The results of the study prove that the principal's strategies in improving the quality of teacher competence at SMA Islam As Sakinah Sidoarjo are: (1) further study of the S.2 professional degree, (2) activating teachers in increasing competence, (3) providing motivation, (4) maximizing the function of the school library, (5) conducting periodic supervision and (6) providing welfare benefits. The obstacles faced by principals in implementing strategies to improve the quality of teacher competence at SMA Islam As Sakinah Sidoarjo are the lack of interest and awareness of teachers, insight into thinking which still tends to be exclusive, lack of teacher supervision activities and several other external factors. While the solutions to overcome the obstacles which appear include providing motivation and good treatment, involving teachers in scientific activities and increasing the implementation of teacher supervision.

This research is based on the establishment of MAN Insan Cendekia in 2017, with all the achievements that Madrasahs have as a measure of quality. The purpose of this research is to find out how the leadership strategy of Insan Cendekia Halmahera Barat madrasah in realizing the quality of madrasah. This research is a descriptive qualitative research, with a phenomenological approach that occurs in the field. Collecting data using observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used three lines of analysis, namely data reduction, data presentation and ferification. The results of this study indicate that: The strategy of implementing and evaluating the quality of education in the West Halmahera Intellectuals is carried out in three ways: first: provision of adequate facilities and infrastructure, second: increasing teacher competence and third: developing student potential in the field of science and technology and IMTAQ as a program flagship madrasa. The full support of the central government and local governments for the development of madrasah is a supporting factor in realizing quality. The results obtained from improving the quality of education are the increase in the construction of madrasa facilities, and student achievements obtained from competitions in the field of Science and technology and and MAN Insan Cendekia West Halmahera accredited A in 2018 with a total score of 92.

This study examines the optimization of teacher performance by measuring the effect of teacher competence and principal leadership on economic teacher performance. The method used is survey method and total sampling. The research subjects consisted of 55 high school economics teachers in the city of Tasikmalaya. Conclusion, teacher competence and principal leadership have a positive influence on teacher performance where the higher the teacher competence and the more effective the principal's leadership, it will improve the quality of teacher performance. This study aims to determine the quality of prospective PE teachers (PPET) in implementing learning management program (LMP) in a partner school of Universitas Negeri Surabaya. Descriptive qualitative approach wa applied. The research subjects were ten PPET who conducted LMP. There were three criteria that would be assessed by the supervising teacher: (1) students’ feasibility to become a PE teachers; (2) need of teacher competence; and (3) competence in student teaching. Research findings showed that the average of students’ feasibility score as student teachers 80.5 (very feasible). Based on the supervising teacher’s perception, the school needs quality teachers who have good academic skills, master the latest curriculum and teaching materials, have good classroom management skills and problem solving, and are creative and inovative. The quality of PPET was sufficient because they were able to manage the class, develop a lesson plan based on the 2013 curriculum, master teaching techniques, know the latest information of the 2013 curriculum, have high self-development ability, dedication, and discipline. In conclusion, the results of this study were able to describe the quality of PPET in conducting LMP, but this study only had few subjects, the findings might not be able to generalize the whole population.

One that influences human resource indicators is education. The teacher is a profession as a job of academic specialization in a relatively long time in college. Understanding related to teacher competence is very important to have by a prospective teacher because it can affect the quality of performance as a professional teacher. The teacher's competence is known as pedagogic, professional, social and personality competencies. The issue in this study is how the competency of the teacher of the Department of Geography Education FKIP Unsyiah as a prospective teacher of geography? The purpose of this study was to determine the competence of teachers in the Department of Geography Education FKIP Unsyiah as prospective geography teachers. Quantitative description approach is used in this study to find answers to the issue. The population in this study were students of the Department of Geography Education FKIP Unsyiah class of 2015 and 2016 who had been declared to have passed the Micro Teaching and Magang Kependidikan 3 course totaling 50 people. Because the population is small and can be reached, the determination of the sample using total sampling techniques so that the sample in this study is the whole population. Data collection is done by distributing test questions to respondents. The data was analyzed using the descriptive statistics percentage formula. The results of the study indicate that the level of teacher competence of Geography Education Department students as prospective teachers is in the moderate category, namely as many as 22 respondents (44%). A total of 12 respondents (24%) were in the high category, 15 respondents (30%) were in the low category and 1 respondent (2%) were in the very low category.

This study aims to improve teacher competence in planning authentic assessments with group guidance. The research method used is classroom action research. The research subjects were 10 teachers at Mandau 011 Junior High School. The timing of the research is carried out in two cycles starting on Monday 11 February to Saturday 23 February 2019. Analysis of the data used is qualitative in the form of data reduction, data presentation, and data inference. While for quantitative data descriptive analysis is carried out by calculating the average value and percentage. The results of the study indicate an increase in the competency of 011 Mandau Junior High School teachers in planning authentic assessments with group guidance. there is a cycle I of the average teacher competence of 70,6 with sufficient categories. The average teacher competency in the second cycle is 76,3 which is included in the good category. Classically, as many as 90% of teachers have been able to plan authentic assessments properly.

Abstract: The quality of madrasah education needs to get serious attention both from process aspect and its result. The quality of madrasah education is also influenced by the family and community environment. This brings with it the need for a review and mapping of the quality management model of education in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. The Madrasah Ibtidaiyah of Purwokerto and MI Ma'arif Pageraji Purwokerto were chosen to be the subject of this study with the consideration that the school has a good quality management system. This study aims to find the typology of quality management education in MI that is effective so that it can be replicated. Based on the findings of the data, it can be concluded as follows: (1) Quality planning conducted in MIN and MI Ma’arif pageraji Purwokerto through (a) improvement of teacher competence, through OJT activity (on the job trainning), (b) teacher. (c) Development of natural competence matrix. (d) Parent and community cooperation in establishing some madrasah programs. (2) Quality control system conducted in MIN and MI Ma’arif pageraji Purwokerto done through supervision activities. (3) Quality assurance conducted in MIN and MI Ma’arif pageraji Purwokerto done internally by madrasah and audited through accreditation activities run by the accreditation bodies of madrasah or other institutions externally. Abstrak: Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan meningkatkan kompetensi guru di SDN Tlambah 2, Kabupaten Karangpenang Sampang. Perencanaan pembelajaran tematik dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran tematik. Subjek penelitian dalam penelitian tindakan kelas ini adalah guru kelas di Sekolah Dasar Negeri Tlambah 2, Kabupaten Karangpenang Sampang. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, menggunakan tahapan perencanaan, tindakan, observasi dan refleksi dalam setiap siklus. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Dari penelitian tindakan kelas ini disimpulkan bahwa supervisi kelompok dengan pendekatan kolaboratif dapat meningkatkan kompetensi guru kelas di SDN Tlambah 2 Kabupaten Karangpenang Sampang.   Kata kunci: kolaboratif, kompetensi, tematik     Abstract: This research was conducted with the aim of increasing the competency of teachers in SDN Tlambah 2, Karangpenang Sampang District, Spreading thematic learning planning in improving the quality of thematic learning. This study aims to determine the appropriate steps in carrying out academic supervision so as to be able to improve the pedagogical competence of teachers, especially in the learning process which in turn will affect the improvement of the quality of education.The study was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle has different planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Research subjects of the principal and teacher. The school principal with his academic supervision measures, while the Kunto Darussalam Elementary School 017 teacher as an object as well as the subject in providing academic supervision treatment. Data collection techniques through class supervision with stages of supervising teachers in the learning process and observation of classroom learning, to record important events related to research, especially at the time of the processlearning takes place.Data analysis techniques that guide data processing using a percentage (%) of achievement with 100 constants. And to see the interpertation using score interpertation criteria to strengthen the interpretation in conclusions as follows: 80% - 100% (Very Good), 66% - 79 % (Good), 56% - 65% (Enough), and 40% - 55% (Less).The results showed that the ability of teachers in the implementation of the learning process experienced an increase in the percentage at each stage, from the first cycle reached an average of 63% (sufficient) and in the second cycle reached an average of 68% (good). There is an increase in teacher's ability by 5% from cycle I. In detail there is a significant increase in the initial condition of the school when compared to the final condition in the second cycle. The accuracy of teachers entering the class increased by 48%, the use of learning media increased by 32%, varied methods increased by 31%, and learning strategies increased by 36%.

This paper deals with the results of sociological survey focused on identification of the attitudes of elderly people to further education. The research was carried out in September 2010. Experience of elderly people with further education, their readiness (determination) for further education as well as their motivation and barriers in further education were also subjects of this research. Detecting elderly population’s awareness of universities of the third age and finding out their further education preferences were an integral part of the research. Research sample consisted of citizens over 55 years living in the South Moravian region. The survey results are structured by socio-demographic features e.g.: age, sex, educational attainment etc. and provide an interesting insight into the attitudes of the target group to one of the activities that contributes to improvement of their quality of life.
