Gas pollutants that accumulate in the room with restricted air circulation may cause respiratory system disorders. A pregnane glycoside compound from Sansevieria can reduce the pollutants. This study aims at producing gels from Sansevieria extract to neutralize indoor gas pollutants. Sansevieria extract is produced by the maceration process with composition 8 g simplicia and 100 ml ethanol 96%. The extract was processed into the gel with a 20% concentration. The gel was applied to rats (Rattus norvegicus) Wistar strain induced by cigarette, coal, and mosquito smoke with positive control and treatment groups. After 8 days, the Gross examination and histopathology of lungs and liver were observed quantitatively. MDA levels were measured with the TBARS method. Data were analyzed by independent sample T-test and Mann-Whitney test with p-value considered significant if <0,05. Gross examination of lungs showed a significant difference between the treatment and control group that was induced by coal smoke (p=0.031), and mosquito smoke (p=0.006), and the liver’s gross of cigarette smoke (p=0.040). Histopathology of lungs showed a significant difference in mosquito smoke (p=0.032) and no significant difference in histopathology of the liver. MDA levels showed significant difference in coal smoke (p=0.020) and mosquito smoke (p=0.000). In conclusion, anti pollutant gel reduces MDA levels and damage of the lungs induced by pollutants.

Contaminated water often affects the occurrence of periodontitis in the coastal area. The diabetic hypercholesterolemia-induced periodontitis in Indonesia is very high. The use of coenzyme Q10 to treat this disease has never been investigated yet. Therefore, this study aimedto analyze the effect of coenzyme Q10 on the lipid profile of diabetic hypercholesterolemia-induced periodontitis.Twenty four rats were randomized into 6 groups (G1-G6). The groups (G1-G3) are healthy, negative and positive control group respectively. The treatment groups (G4-G6) are diabetic hypercholesterolemia-induced rats given coenzyme q10 dose of 13,5; 27 and 54 mg/kg respectively. Rats were induced by periodontitis, hypercholesterolemia and diabetes mellitus. Coenzyme Q10 was administered orally using 2 mL gastric tube once a day for 14 days. Lipid profile including triglycerides, HDL, and atherogenic index (IA) was measured enzymatically by the CHOD-PAP method. Data were analyzed by one-way ANOVA test and followed by the Least Significant Difference (LSD) post hoc test.Coenzyme Q10 with a dose of 54 mg/kgis effective in lowering triglyceride, and atherogenic index and increasing HDL level in diabetic hyperlipidemia-induced periodontitis rats model. This research supports the potential effects of coenzyme Q10 supplementation to improve lipid profile in diabetic hypercholesterolemia-induced periodontitis in the coastal area.

The aim of this randomised, double blind controlled trial was to verify the efficacy of a herbal dentifrice on the reduction of plaque and gingivitis. Forty eight volunteers with established gingivitis were randomly assigned to either a test group (herbal dentifrice) or positive control group (dentifrice with triclosan and fluoride). The dentifrices were distributed in plain white tubes by an independent pharmacy, which revealed the contents of each tube only after the experimental period. Plaque and gingivitis assessments were carried out on baseline and after 28 days of product use. All examinations were conducted by the same calibrated investigator. Subjects were instructed to brush their teeth three times daily using their assigned dentifrice for 28 days. There was a significant reduction in plaque levels in both the test and control groups. However, there was no significant difference between the groups. A significant reduction in gingivitis was observed in both groups, although there was no significant difference between them. No adverse reactions were reported. The authors concluded that both dentifrices were effective in reducing plaque and gingivitis in subjects with established gingivitis.

The activities of children more involve the foot. One of the common problems in the foot is flexible flatfoot. A disturbance in the process of the formation of the arch foot could result in a deformation of the foot and increases the risk of an injury due to postural balance change. Normally, the arch of the foot formed the first five years for the age range of 2-6 years. The right choices of the intrinsic muscle exercises of the foot can prevent deformation and improve postural balance. This study aimed to discuss the effectiveness of foot strengthening exercise to improving postural balance and functional ability of foot on a flexible flatfoot 6-10 years old. This study was pre-experimental research with two groups of pre-post test design. The subjects of this research were 30 students that had been divided into two groups, case, and control. Each group consists of 15 students selected used purposive sampling method based on the criteria of inclusion that had been set. There was a significant difference after foot strengthening exercise between the case and control group, p-value = 0,000. The foot strengthening exercise could improve the postural balance and functional ability of the foot on a flexible flatfoot 6-10 years old.

This study determined the effect of Mango mistletoe Methanolic Extract (MMME) on the cardiac's histopathological profile of hypertensive rats (DOCA-Salt) treated. The MMME was treated on fifty rats for 14 days, divided into five treatments: negative control, positive control, doses 50, 100, and 200 mg/kg BW with five replications. One-way ANOVA analysis was used, namely JAMOVI with version 1.1.9.0, and for cell calculation, diameter using the IMAGE J application. Results showed that there were no significant differences in the histopathological profile of the cardiac in hypertensive rats (DOCA-Salt) treated with MMME for 14 days on the diameter of the heart muscle cells between the control (+) and control groups (-), treatments 1, 2, and 3. This is evidenced by the analysis of p-value> 0.05, namely 0.187 millimeters. Therefore, we concluded that MMME does not affect the diameter of heart/cardiac organ muscle cells. However, there was a significant difference in the amount of necrosis in the cardiac of hypertensive rats between control (+) and control (-) groups, treatments 1, 2, and 3. Based on the results, MMME reduces the number of necrosis in the heart/cardiac organ.
