This research departs from the actualization of the kiai's leadership role in santri character education in Islamic boarding schools, which consists of the role of goal rationality, spirituality, and interpretation of the vision of education in Islamic boarding schools. This research aims to describe the role of the kiai in forming the character of santri in the Asy-Syifa Islamic boarding school. This research used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. data collection with interviews, observation and documentation studies, also data analysis and valid data testing. the results of research on how kiai act as pathfinding, a lightning and empowering in the process of forming the character of santri, this is illustrated by how the kiai synergizes the great vision of kiai and Islmic boarding school, with typical learning and Islamic boarding school culture and relational patterns of kiai-santri, santri-kiai and santri-community as a comprehensive process of character education patterns in the Asy-Syifa Islamic boarding school

The objective of the study was to analyze the role of islamic boarding school in preventing radicalism in Rejang Lebong regency. The study used qualitative approach with descriptive method. The data collection was done though interview, documentation and observation. The result showed that in playing the role, islamic boarding school recently became the target of people's distrust: this was the place of radicalism and terrorism. According to the analysis, there was no school found as the place of radicalism and terrorism. Some schools even actively prevent radicalism and terrorism effectively. In conclusion, the role of islamic boarding schools in Rejang Lebong to prevent radicalism and terrorism through the tight control was effective. The purpose of the study was to find out the title role of Pesantren believer Cooperative Mandiri Sidoarjo towards economic empowerment and independence employee boarding schools. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach to the case study method. Data collection was carried out by interviews and direct observation to informants, namely those in charge of pesantren, cooperative and cooperative employees (santri). And secondary data collection comes from journals, text books and other literature. The result of this study is the Mukmin Mandiri Pesantren Cooperative plays a major role in enhancing the empowerment of cooperative employees (santri) and playing an optimal role in supporting the independence of the cottage. The economic empowerment of pesantren employees conducted by the Mukmin Mandiri Pesantren Cooperative is by making the Cooperative a work field, a place to apply knowledge and a place to increase income. As for the independence of the cottage, that is to become the main source of funding for Islamic boarding schools in carrying out operations and the sustainability of Islamic boarding schools. Going forward, the Cooperative will further optimize the empowerment of union employees (santri) to print better students in the field of entrepreneurship and religion.Keywords: Cooperative Boarding School, Economic Empowerment, Independence of Islamic Boarding Schools

This paper aims to explore an Intensive Course Program in Arabic learning at one of the Islamic Boarding schools for girls in Indonesia. it is expected that Students in this Intensive Course understand two skills in Arabic, namely speaking and reading skills. Also, it aims to identify the strengths and weaknesses of Intensive Course Program. This study utilized a descriptive qualitative approach with three data collection techniques; observation, interviews, and documentation. It used Miles and Huberman’s technique in analyzing the data. This study showed that: 1) Implementation of Intensive Course Program in Arabic learning at the one of Islamic Boarding Schools for girls in Indonesia aimed to improve language skill including reading and deductive skill including speaking. 2) Pertinent to the strengths and weaknesses of the Intensive Course, the learning system is advantagous to enhance other specific skills, ranging from students’ proficiencies in reading and speaking in Arabic. However, there are also drawbacks. For example, an excellent Arabic environment has not been created due to the lack of students’ awareness of making them accustomed to speaking Arabic.

The leadership of the kiai becomes very important in Islamic boarding school because the development of the quality of pesantren education depends on the competence of the leader, the meaning of the leader here is the kiai or caretaker of the boarding school. This study aims to describe the first role of leadership in improving the quality of education, secondly the leadership of kiai that is effective in improving the quality of education in Islamic boarding schools.This research uses a qualitative method, with a case study in Bahrul Maghfiroh Islamic Boarding School in Malang. Data collection was carried out using interview, observation, and documentation and observation techniques. Data analysis uses descriptive qualitative methods and inductive thinking patterns. The purpose is to analyze the data obtained from field objects, and then to be related to relevant theories.The results showed: 1) The role of the kiai in improving quality in the Bahrul Maghfiroh Islamic boarding school in Malang is as a manager, educator, human resource empowerment, decision maker, attainee of the pesantren, motivator and supervisor. 2) Effective kiai leadership is leadership that builds cooperation with kiai or other institutions, regenerates kiai and builds good relations with the community.

Indonesia Manajemen hubungan masyarakat adalah sebuah fungsi manajemen yang didalamnya meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengorganisasian dan evaluasi terhadap hubungan masyarakat. Hubungan masyarakat sangat penting keberadaannya didalam suatu organisasi. Dengan adanya manajemen yang baik maka humas di perguruan tinggi akan terlaksana secara efektif dan efisien. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini menfokuskan pada dua hal yaitu; 1) Bagaimana fungsi manajemen humas dalam menarik minat masyarakat di IAIN Madura, 2) Bagaimana pola komunikasi humas di IAIN Madura, 3) Bagaimana respon stakeholders terhadap humas di IAIN Madura. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yang dilakukan di Institut Agama Islam Negeri Madura. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi. Tahapan analisis data dilakukan dengan penyajian data, redusi data, dan menarik kesimpulan. Pengecekan keabsahan data melalui meningkatkan ketekunan dan Member check. Hasil penelitian ini; 1. Fungsi manajemen hubungan masyarakat dalam menarik minat masyarakat. (a) perencanaan meliputi, perencanaan fisik, perencanaan fungsional, perencanaan secara luas, dan perencanaan dikombinasikan, (b) pengorganisasian humas dibagi sesuai dengan tupoksi, (c) pelaksanaan hubungan masyarakat, melakukan kerjasama dengan pihak internal dan eksternal kampus, malakukan promosi melalui media massa dan menggunakan peran alumni, (d) evaluasi hubungan masyarakat dilakukan disetiap akhir kegiatan. 2. Pola komunikasi humas, a) internal, melakukan rapat dan musyawarah, b) eksternal, melalui kerjasama, media massa (cetak dan online). 3. Respon stakeholders terhadap humas IAIN Madura, a) respon dosen, b) respon mahasiswa, c) respon tokoh masyarakat. Kata kunci: Manajemen Humas, Minat Masyarakat.   Inggris Public relations management is a management function which includes planning, implementing, organizing and evaluating public relations.  Public relations is very important presence in an organization.  With good management, public relations at universities will be carried out effectively and efficiently. The purpose of this study focuses on two things namely;  1) How is the function of public relations management in attracting public interest in IAIN Madura, 2) How is the pattern of public relations communicationIAIN Madura, 3) How is the response of stakeholders to public relations IAIN Madura. This study uses a qualitative approach conducted at the Madura State Islamic Institute.  Data collection techniques using interview, observation, documentation.  Stages of data analysis are performed by presenting data, data reduction, and drawing conclusions.  Checking the validity of the data through increasing perseverance and member checking. The results of this study;  1. The function of public relations management in attracting public interest.  (a) planning includes, physical planning, functional planning, broad planning, and combined planning, (b) organizing public relations is divided according to the main tasks and functions, (c) implementing public relations, collaborating with internal and external campus, conducting promotion through media  mass and using the role of alumni, (d) evaluation of public relations is done at the end of each activity.  2. Public relations communication patterns, a) internal, conducting meetings and deliberations, b) external, through cooperation, mass media (print and online).  3. This study aims to elaborate the strengthening of Islamic moderateism through Aswaja An-Nahdliyyah character education. The researcher describes the behavior of Aswaja An-Nahdliyyah character education practiced by Islamic educational institutions as a basis for strengthening religious moderatism. The role of Islamic education institutions in applying moderate Islamic understanding in this disruption era is necessary. Because, students are faced with conditions of changing the order of values ​​and traditions that are very fast and unexpected. Through a descriptive-qualitative approach, data collection is done by interview, observation, and documentation. Through the frame of character education theory, the data analyzed using the stages of reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. Apparently, Aswaja An-Nahdliyyah's character education at MTs. Miftahul Huda Bulungan Pakis Aji Jepara was developed through teaching the value of tawassuth, tawazun, tasamuh and i'tidal. The implementation as culture of madrasa, such as the obligation to pray before starting the lesson, orderly running pickets, praying dzuhur in congregation, wearing school uniforms, preserving ancestral culture, familiarizing greetings, sympathetic care routinely for yatama and dhuafa, maintaining the cleanliness of the madrasa environment, and a ban on littering the classroom walls. The limitation of this study has specific scope. That is the focus on strengthening religious moderateism in Islamic educational institutions which are under the shelter of the LP. Maarif NU Jepara Regency. There are still gaps for other researchers to conduct development research outside of that scope.

Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini untuk memahami secara komprehensif nilai-nilai humaniora dalam antologi puisi "Blues untuk Bonnie" karya WS Rendra. Metode penelitian yang digunakan deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan studi pustaka, dan teknik analisis data dengan analisis isi melalui kajian struktural semiotik. Hasil penelitian yakni antologi puisi Blues untuk Bonnie karya WS Rendra mengandung nilai-nilai humaniora yang terlihat melalui tanda-tanda semiotik berupa moralitas, simpati, empati, kasih sayang, kepedulian, kerjasama, dan toleransi. Temuan penelitian ini merekomendasikan bahwa masih banyak jenis-jenis karya sastra yang dapat dijadikan objek kajian dengan menggunakan pendekatan-pendekatan yang berbeda untuk mengungkap nilai-nilai pendidikan terutama pendidikan karakter bagi siswa dan mahasiswa. Temuan penelitian ini memberikan implikasi terhadap pengajaran sastra di sekolah lanjutan sampai perguruan tinggi dalam bentuk penyusunan bahan ajar atau pengembangan model pembelajaran apresiasi sastra sebagai alternatif pemecahan masalah pendidikan karater bangsa. Kata Kunci: Nilai-nilai humaniora, antologi puisi, kajian struktural semiotik Abstract The objective of this research is to understand comprehensively the humanities values in antology of poetry "Blues for Bonnie" by WS Rendra. The research used content analysis method with qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are used library study and data analysis techniques with content analysis through the study of structuralism semiotic. The result was the antology of poetry 'Blues for Bonnie" by WS Rendra contains humanities values seen through semiotic signs are morality, symphaty, empbaty, love, care, togetherness, and tolerant. The findings lead to the recomendation that there are still many kinds of literary works which can be the object of research by using different approaches for investigating education characters! values for students. This finding implicates to literary instruction in schools to universities in forms of teaching materials or literary appreciation instruction as one of the alternative problem solving of the nation character education. This study aims to describe the values of the Tandhang dance, explain the role of the Tarara Studio, obstacles, and solutions to obstacles in the preservation of the Tandhang dance in Bangkalan Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach to the type of descriptive research. Data collection was carried out by means of interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis used interactive analysis by Miles and Huberman. Tandhang dance has good values which are used as life guidelines for the Madurese, the role of the Tarara Studio is very good in preserving the Tandhang dance with training and staging, the obstacles faced are, delays, differences in ability, laziness, outside culture, differences in public opinion. The solutions taken were reminding, dividing groups, motivating oneself, attracting interest, and accepting differences of opinion. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai tari Tandhang, menjelaskan peranan Sanggar Tarara, hambatan, dan solusi dari hambatan dalam pelestarian tari Tandhang di Kabupaten Bangkalan. Kajian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan analisis interaktif milik Miles dan Huberman. Tari Tandhang memiliki nilai-nilai baik yang dijadikan sebagai pedoman hidup orang Madura, peranan Sanggar Tarara sangat baik dalam pelestarian tari Tandhang dengan pelatihan dan pementasan, hambatan yang dihadapi yaitu, keterlambatan, perbedaan kemanpuan, malas, budaya luar, perbedaan pendapat masyarakat. Solusi yang diambil yaitu, mengingatkan, membagi kelompok, memotivasi diri, menarik minat, dan menerima perbedaan pendapat.

The background of this research stems from the interest of researchers about the importance of the role of principal leadership in strengthening character education. This study aims to determine the type, role, and implementation of the character education strengthening program at SMAN 1 Yogyakarta. This research is a qualitative research taking place at SMAN 1 Yogyakarta. Methods of data collection are done by means of observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques by transcript, coding, comparing and contrasting. Checking the validity of the data by means of triangulation of sources, triangulation of techniques, and triangulation of time. The results showed that: (1) the type of leadership applied by the principal is a type of democratic leadership where the principal always provides encouragement, motivation and innovation for teachers, employees and students to continue to excel and continue working. (2) The implementation of the character education strengthening program using the habituation and culture methods of 5S (Greetings, Smiles, Greetings, Polite, and Polite) character education strengthening programs are supported by school members so that the program has been implemented optimally. (3) the principal acts as an educator, manager, administrator, supervisor, leader, innovator and as a motivator.

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana metode yang digunakan pimpinan pesantren, untuk mengetahui program-program dan bentuk peran pimpinan pesantren dalam pengembangan dakwah di Pesantren. Penelitian ini berlandaskan pada sebuah teori hasibuan bahwa kepemimpinan merupakan intisari manajemen. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan metode deskriftip karena metode ini dipandang relevan untuk menggali dan menganalisis fenomena empiris yang terjadi dijaman sekarang. Teknik penelitian yang digunakan adalan dengan observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dalam analisis datanya menggunakan jenis analisis data kualitatif. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukan bahwa dalam mengembangkan dakwah di Pondok Pesantren KH Muhammad Ridwan mengambil keputusan dengan metode yang tidak lepas dari standar dakwah, memperhatikan lingkungan dan kemampuan dewan kiai atau dewan guru, menjalankan program-program yang telah direncanakan dengan objek yang menyeluruh.  Bentuk peran yang di gunakan sebagai pimpinan semuanya sesuai dengan kondisi para santri guru dan masyarakat. Hal demikian di pandang mampu dalam pengembangan dakwah dipesantren dengan peran pemimpin sebagai individu terbaik bagi kelompoknya, sebagai tauladan bagi anggota dalam oraganisasinya dan sebagai pemimpin imformal di Pesantren dan di lingkungan masyarakat. Kata Kunci: Peran; Kepemimpinan; Pesantren ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to determine how the methods used by leaders of pesantren, to find out the programs and forms of role of leaders of pesantren in developing da'wah in Pesantren. This research is based on a theory of fate that leadership is the essence of management. The method used in this study is to use a descriptive method because this method is considered relevant to explore and analyze empirical phenomena that occur today. The research technique used is observations, interviews, documentation, in the analysis of data using qualitative data analysis types. The results of research conducted show that in developing da'wah at the Islamic Boarding School KH Muhammad Ridwan took decisions with methods that can not be separated from the standards of preaching, pay attention to the environment and the ability of the kiai council or teacher council, run programs that have been planned with a comprehensive object. The forms of roles used as leaders are all in accordance with the conditions of the students, teachers and the community. This is seen as being able to develop da'wah in the pesantren with the role of the leader as the best individual for the group, as a role model for members in their organizations and as an informal leader in the pesantren and in the community.
