Background:Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever is community health problem in Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta. In the last five years the case and its spread have been increasing. Many efforts have been conducted to overcome case increasing, the most important is community participation in Mosquito nest eradication (PSN). Health education through radio broadcast, leaflet, dan lecture are still failing in changing community behavior to conduct PSN continuously, because the number of larva free is still low and the spread keeps increasing. Previous studies said that Small Group Discussion (SGD) was more effective in changing community behavior. Therefore, further study is needed to be done to find out the effectiveness of small group discussion (SGD) method and lecture method towards community behavior in PSN, that was measured using larva free proportion in household.Objective: The objective of the study is to find out the effect of health education using Small Group Discussion (SGD) method and lecture method towards DHF vector larva free proportion in household.Method: The study was quasi experiment with control time series design. It was conducted in Wonosari district, Karangmojo district, and Playen district in Gunungkidul Regency. The subject of the study was 412 households divided into three groups, i.e. lecture intervension group, SGD intervention group and control group. Data analysis used paired sample t-test and Mann-Whitney test.Result:There was an effect in health education using SGD method towards DHF vector larva free proportion with p-value < α (0.05). There was a difference in DHF vector larva free proportion using lecture method but it was not statistically significant, p-value > α (0.05). There were differences between SGD with lecture method and control group in increasing DHF vector larva free proportion with p-value < α (0.05).Conclusion: There was an effect in health education using SGD method and lecture method towards DHF vector larva free proportion in household. Health education using SGD method is more effective than lecture method to increase DHF vector larva free proportion in household.

The incidence number of HIV/AIDS is the most worrying case globally, and the number keeps increasing. The highest risk factor affecting adolescents to have HIV/AIDS is lack of information. Thus, it is necessary to provide proper health education on HIV/AIDS using the small group discussion method. This study aims to determine the effect of HIV/AIDS education using the small group discussion method on teenagers' HIV/AIDS prevention knowledge. This research used a pre-experimental design, no control one-group pretest-posttest design. There were 55 respondents as samples obtained by using simple random sampling. They were divided into five small groups. Each group was provided the identical material, namely HIV and its prevention, for three hours with two sessions. The first session lasted for two hours consisted of knowledge sharing based on trigger cases. The second session lasted for one hour consisted of continuing and reviewing the material given in the first session. A questionnaire was handed out to collect adolescent knowledge about HIV/AIDS and analyzed the data using paired t-test. The result showed that adolescent knowledge scores on HIV/AIDS increased after being provided with health education on HIV/AIDS. The paired t-test value of a knowledge is p = 0.000 (p-value<0.05). The implication in this study is that providing health education on HIV/AIDS using the small group discussion method has proven to be effective in expanding adolescent knowledge on HIV/AIDS prevention.

This study investigated the significant effect of small group discussion toward students’ presentation skill of hortatory exposition text. The design of the study was quasi experiment. The researcher chose the eleventh grade of SMAN 1 Kebomas which totally consist of 46 students. The sample was divided into two groups. XI-MIPA-1 was as the experiment group and XI-MIPA-2 was as the control group. The data was collected by using tests, pretest and posttest. The research finding showed that there was difference between experiment group who were taught by small group discussion method and control group who were taught by peer discussion. It is proven by the result of sig. (2tailed) is 0.039 and 0.038. The sig. (2tailed) is lower than 0.05 but it closer to 0.05. So, the null hypothesis can be rejected. It means that small group discussion gave positive effects on students’ presentation skill. The researcher concluded that small group discussion gave positive effect on students’ presentation skill. They were better in developing paragraph and better in word choices.

<p><strong><em>Background</em></strong><em>: In Indonesia, Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a disease that is a public health problem, many areas have become endemic. This disease has become a global health problem. This disease is a recurring disease, so it needs serious handling. </em></p><p><strong><em>Objectives</em></strong><em>: The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the lecture method and small group discussions on community behavior in eradicating mosquitoes. </em></p><p><strong><em>Methods</em></strong><em>: This research is a survey method in the form of a quantitative design with a quasi-experimental type. The technique used is a time series control with a sample size of 400 people carried out in Gunungkidul Yogyakarta Regency in May-July 2020. A total of 200 subjects were given health promotion interventions with the lecture method, and 200 other subjects were given health promotion using the small group discussion method. Before being given the Health promotion, every resident's house was checked for the presence of larvae, and after being given the Health promotion, the presence of larvae was re-checked for three weeks. The data obtained were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test using the SPSS program.</em></p><p><strong><em>Results</em></strong><em>: This research shows an effect of giving health promotion with lecture method or small group discussion method on community behaviour changes in eradicating mosquito nests with p-value &lt;0.001. </em></p><strong><em>Conclussion</em></strong><em>: Health promotion using the small group discussion method is more effective than Health promotion using the lecture method. Health promotion using the small group discussion method effectively changes people's behaviour to eradicate mosquito nests.</em>

Pendahluan.Tren kelulusan first taker ujian kompetensi bidan di Prodi D4 Kebidanan Jayapura mengalami penurunan pada tahun 2018 menjadi 42% yang sebelumnya 82% pada tahun 2017 sehingga prodi mengambil langkah untuk melakukan bimbingan ujian kompetensi dengan menggunakan metode small group discussion. Tujuan.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas bimbingan ujian kompetensi dengan metode small group discussion online dan offline terhadap kenaikan nilai try out ujian kompetensi. Metode. Metode yang digunakan yaitu penelitian eksperimen semu (Quasy Experiment) dengan rancangan pretest-posttest with control group design. Penelitian ini menggunakan 2 kelompok yaitu kelompok kontrol (offline) dan kelompok eksperimen (online) yang dipilih secara kuota sampling dengan jumlah sampel tiap kelompok masing masing 30 orang. Hasil.Uji statistik yang digunakan pada kelompok berpasangan dengan data berdistribusi normal menggunakan uji Paired Sample Test dan pada data yang berdistribusi tidak normal menggunakan uji Wilcoxon, pada kelompok tidak berpasangan dengan data berdistribusi tidak normal menggunakan uji Mann Whitney. Hasil analisis untuk efektivitas menggunakan bimbingan dengan metode small group discussion online dan offline ternyata tidak ada perbedaan dengan nilai p value (0.728) > α (0,05), artinya jika dilakukan secara online maupun offline metode small group discussion sama-sama efektif terhadap hasil nilai tryout ujian kompetensi.   Kata Kunci: Keefektifan; Small Group Discussion; Ujian Kompetensi

Dengue hemorrhagic fever is a disease that requires prompt and appropriate treatment so that the sufferer does not experience a more severe condition. This disease is spread in almost all parts of Indonesia and has become a public health problem because many areas are endemic. The purpose of this study was to compare and determine the effect of providing health promotion with the lecture and small group discussion method on community behavior changes in eradicating mosquito nests. The design of this research was a survey method with a quasi-experimental design. This study was conducted in Gunungkidul District from May to July 2020. The number of samples was 400 persons, a total of 200 subjects were given health promotion interventions with the lecture method and 200 subjects were given a small group discussion method. The presence of mosquito larvae was checked before and after the intervention. The Mann-Whitney test was used when the data are not normally distributed. The result of this study show that health promotion with the small group discussion method is more effective than the lecture method on community behavior in eradicating mosquito nests.

Efforts to improve caregiver’s knowledge on hallucination is by providing an education the caregivers. Enhancing such knowledge can be carried out by different methods, include lecture and watching video methods. The purpose of the present research was to compare the effectiveness of lecture  and watching video method in enhancing caregiver’s knowledge on hallucination.          The research used a quasi-experiment method with a pretest and posttest group design, with the research sample was 60. The sampling technique used was a total sampling. The scores of caregiver’s knowledge were determined by a questionnaire of knowledge on hallucination that was self-developed by validity test (0.707) and reliability test (0.968). The data obtained was then tested by using Independent Sample T-test, Mann-Whitney test, and Wilcoxon test.          The result of pretest of caregiver’s knowledge before the intervention showed that there was no difference between intervention and control group (p-value=0.624), while result of posttest of caregiver’s knowledge after the intervention showed that there was a significant difference between lecture group and video group (p-value=0.000). The research findings revealed that there was a significant increase in the scores of knowledge for both methods (p-value=0.000), but the increase of video group’s knowledge score was higher (4.23) than that of lecture group (2.57).          The conclusion of the research was that wathing video method was more effective than lecture method in enhancing caregiver’s knowledge so that video can be used as an alternative method for mental health education.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran kooperatif Small Group Discussion (SGD) dengan talking stick berbantuan handout terhadap hasil belajar Biologi  siswa kelas VIII di SMPN 5 Padang Panjang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode eksperimen semu dengan rancangan penelitian randomized control group posttest-only design. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik random sampling, dan sampel yang terpilih adalah kelas VIII 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data kuantitatif didapatkan hasil belajar Biologi siswa kelas VIII SMPN 5 Padang Panjang dengan menerapkan pembelajaran kooperatif  Small Group Discussion (SGD) dengan talking stick  berbantuan  handout terhadap hasil belajar Biologi siswa Kelas VIII di SMPN 5 Padang Panjang lebih baik dari hasil belajar Biologi siswa yang menggunakan diskusi face to face relationship berbantuan handout. Pembelajaran kooperatif  Small Group Discussion (SGD) dengan talking stick berbantuan  handout terhadap hasil belajar biologi siswa Kelas VIII di SMPN 5 Padang Panjang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar biologi siswa.

<p><em>Psychoeducation is one form of intervention, both for families and clients who are part of the psychosocial therapy. Psychoeducation aims to increase knowledge about schizophrenia patients and families and to improve treatment compliance</em><em>. </em><em>This study aims to determine the effectiveness of psychoeducation intervention </em><em>for </em><em>treatment compliance</em><em> of </em><em>schizophrenia patient. </em><em>The kind of this research is q</em><em>uasiexperimen</em><em>tal</em><em>with control group design with </em><em>16 samples that was</em><em> selected by pusposive sampling</em><em>,</em><em> consist of </em><em>8</em><em> people</em><em> was the </em><em>experimental group </em><em>that was given </em><em>psychoeducation intervention and </em><em>8 people was the </em><em>control group </em><em>that was </em><em>given health education. </em><em>The d</em><em>ata</em><em>was </em><em>collected by </em><em>filled the </em><em>observation sheet as much as 12 statement</em><em>s</em><em>. </em><em> The </em><em>Test </em><em>that </em><em>used was T-Test Independent with p </em><em>value </em><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">&lt;</span></em><em>0.05. </em><em>The result of this research is the mean of treatment compliance on experimental group is 11,00 and control group 6,88. In statistic test showed that there is the significant difference between treatment compliance of schizopheria patient on experimental group and control group with p value 0,0005 (p &lt; 0,05).Based of the result above can be concluded than psychoeducation intervention more effective to increase the treatment compliance of schizophrenia patients than health education. In 2013, the graduate competence of the midwifery department that fit current job demand was only 15%. Knowledge is one of the aspects of midwifery education quality. Small-Group Discussion (SGD) is one of the forms of students centered learning (SCL) where students are demanded to solve problems through a small group discussion. The object of this study is to figure out a comparison of knowledge improvement through the use of SGD or conventional methods. The method used in the study is quantitative of experimental pre-posttest design. The researcher divides the sample into two groups, the experimental group (19) is given an SGD approach and the control group (19) is given a conventional course approach. Based on the Independent Sample T-test, the value of Sig. (2-tailed) is 0.006 (0.05). Hence, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the average score of students’ knowledge level in the SGD group and the conventional group. The SGD group appears to have a higher improvement of average score, which is from 6.3 to 8.1 while the average score of the conventional group is from 6.1 to 6.8. Hence, it is considered that the SGD learning method can improve knowledge of midwifery students and can be used as an effective alternative method to achieve a student-centered learning system for other midwifery institutions.

Menarche and menstruation is a physiological process that can cause physical discomfort, emotional and anxiety. SDN in Cluster 3 and 4 Districts Nanggulan there were 10 grade 5 and 6 are not yet menarche say not know about menarche and menstruation and not knowing what to do when menstruation occurs. This happens because there is no health education about menstruation health in the scope of elementary school. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of health education with group discussion and lecture method to the knowledge, attitudes pre teens to face of menarche. Methods: This study is quasy-experiment with approaches pre test-post test control group design. Subjects were 5th and 6th grade students of elementary school at Cluster 3 and 4 Districts Nanggulan Kulon Progo with as many as 111 (discussion method,n = 55 and lecture method,n = 56) who met the inclusion criteria. The instrument used questionnaire. The sampling technique purposive sampling. Statistical test using Friedman test, Wilcoxon test and Mann-Whitney Test. Results: Scores of knowledge and attitudes before and after treatment there were significant differences in group discussions and lectures with the p=0,00 (p <0.05). Increased knowledge and attitude scores in both groups were significantly different at p=0,00 dan p=0,02 (p <0.05). The increase in effective knowledge and attitude scores on the method of discussion on the first day, the third and fourteenth after health education. Conclusion: Health education with discussion method is more effective than lecture group in increasing knowledge and changing attitudes in the pra-puberty facing menarche.
