The article discloses the peculiarities of the nature and residential environment in the first garden cities in Galicia: “Salwator” in Krakow and “Novyi Svit” in Lviv. The topicality of the issue is predetermined by the need for supplementing and developing available scientific researches related to the study of the garden city concept as well as for analyzing profoundly and comparing the architectural and townplanning structures of the garden cities in Galicia at the early stages of their development. Both general scientific methods (historical, comparative, structural analysis), and special field observations have been used. This comprehensive approach has enabled us to point out the special features (planning, functional) of the garden cities as exemplified by Lviv and Krakow. It has been proven that the development of the architecture and town planning of the above cities in the early ХХth century corresponds to the general European trends, while the concept of garden cities was implemented in a fragmented way, that is in the form of gardens-on-the-outskirts.

The article attempts to generalize social and economic consequences of legitimation of the communist regime in Ukraine on the basis of analysis of historical and statistical data, and to confirm the fact of mass artificial famine in 1921–1923 and regular confiscation, export of grain and food products abroad from Ukraine. To ensure a comprehensive study of the main aspects of the research topic, we used historical, problem-chronological, historical-comparative, historical-psychological methods, as well as general scientific methods – systematization, analysis, generalization, modeling, etc. The new archival materials from the funds of State Archives of Zaporizhzhia Region were introduced into the scientific use that prove the facts of mass artificial famine of 1921–1923, as well as the materials from the State Archives of Khmelnytskyi Region that confirm the facts of regular and extra confiscations and export of grain, especially abroad. It is mentioned that after the legitimation of party and Soviet organizations in Ukrainian territories with the use of Cheka, the Bolsheviks conducted the policy of confiscations, product dictatorship, used already known and created new mechanisms of terror. In 1922, mass famine covered Zaporizhzhia province, and because of the lack of relief aid, people were physically exhausted, ate surrogates, died of starvation; there were cases of cannibalism. During 1922, the system of compulsory extra confiscations (of rye and wheat) for starving regions was introduced in the regions that suffered less, especially in Podillia province. Regular extra confiscations and export of grain from Podillia province had prolonged effects, which later led to the stagnation of agricultural sphere in the region, facts of starvation and hunger edema.

The article deals with the specifics and prospects of using legally relevant messages in different branches of law. Also the authors analyze the court cases in order to determine the problems of efficiency of such using. Among the significant factors preventing the application of article 165.1 of the Civil code of the Russian Federation in other branches of law, the authors draw attention to the imperfection of the norm itself, and also emphasize its public nature in some cases. The authors note that the messages as part of the procedure for the seizure of land have legal relevance for their owners. The methodological basis of the research is a set of general scientific and private scientific methods such as: system-structural, analysis, formal-legal, logical and others. Scientific novelty of the research is that the authors, on the basis of theoretical insights, legislation and court cases propose to identify the legally relevant messages in the administrative procedure for searching holders of the seizuring property as appropriate and necessary way of ensuring the rights and lawful interests of these holders.

Freedom of expression, personal integrity, respect for honor and dignity, the right to an adequate standard of living, living conditions, and health care are among the fundamental human rights in the civilized world. Ignoring these opportunities in such criminal activities as human trafficking is an unacceptable phenomenon for today's reality. Yet, it exists. It is a challenge for researchers in various humanities, for policy- and decision-makers to create a system of effective counteraction to the violation of the inviolability of state borders and the fight against human trafficking. In this study, we focused on the relationship between the illegal border crossing and the analysis of the phenomenon of trafficking in persons, as well as their comparative characteristics and legislation to combat these phenomena. The subject of the study is public relations regarding illegal border crossing and human trafficking. The subject of this research is the identification of legal views of the German philosopher and jurist Heinrich Ahrens. The source base is comprised of the scientific works of G. Ahrens and other legal scholars. The historical-legal science does not pay sufficient attention to the ideas and persona of Heinrich Ahrens. He was famous during his lifetime, but almost forgotten afterwards. The Russian legal science lacks a monographic research of the political-legal concept of H. Ahrens. Methodological framework consists of the general scientific methods: systemic, logical, historical, comparative; as well as special methods: historical-legal, comparative-legal, formal-legal, and portrait-biographical. The scientific novelty is defined by the subject and methods of research. The central idea of Heinrich Ahrens’ encyclopedia of law is the interpretation of the science of law in its organic unity. The author examines the concept of law and system of law in the scholar’s perception; as well as underlines the prominent figure of H. Ahrens who contributed to development to the science of encyclopedia of law. The scientific works of Heinrich Ahrens have not been previously subjected to systemic and comprehensive examination, while the proposed ideas and concept remain relevant until the present.

A feature of the first decade of the XXI century was the shift of the EU from the second to the third position in the competition of global geographical centers of power; the beginning of the third decade was marked by the withdrawal of the UK from the EU. Despite many external and internal challenges, the EU remains committed to its chosen economic model and its unique asset, the Single internal market. The article focuses on the following questions. Why did the neoliberal ideas embodied in the creation of a model for the integration of national markets receive support in Europe in the middle of the XX century? How has neoliberalism strengthened over time? Does the process of developing a common economic policy and expanding the EU's powers run counter to the development of a neoliberal idea? What alternative models compete with the European neoliberal model? How stable is the neoliberal idea in the EU? The subject of the study is the growth of supranational economic regulation in the EU. Using general scientific methods, historical, comparative analysis and abstraction, a schematic representation of the classical market model and the EU model (European model) is given, with the designation of common and special reference elements that ensure economic efficiency. The author describes the three stages of the formation of the European model. It is concluded that the EU's regulatory activities are neoliberal in nature. It is aimed at using market leverage, and the model itself retains a margin of stability. The author argues that the current stage started in 2000 is a stage of a smart neoliberal model formation.

The article aims to study the information context of the body signs and the perception of this information by Inner Asian nomads in terms of man and nature interaction. Methods. The research is based on general scientific methods and particular methods of historical science, such as the historical-comparative research method and the method of cultural-historical reconstruction. Materials. In terms of studies of humans as social and biological beings, it is relevant to examine the human body in the system of traditional somatic representations of the Turkic-Mongolian peoples of Inner Asia. In their worldview, the human body represents a specialized “map” of messages of a physiological nature, where organs and body parts were seen as symmetrical and their messages were perceived as negative or positive, depending on location on the left or on the right. Of relevance was also whether the sign came from the upper or lower part of a particular organ. Special attention was paid to the “movements” of the liver and the heart. Conclusions. The study shows that the world that surrounds a person appeared as a complex multidimensional information space, with sensory information playing an important part in its perception. This information was not limited to images created by the senses. In fact, the entire body, including internal organs, was perceived as such a conductor, with various manifestations of a physiological nature, such as trembling, noises, itching, and pains serving as “messages”. Individuals that had special body sensitivity were described as those of “open flesh” or of “light bones”; these were usually the only child in the family or one of the twins.

To identify the things-meaning role of the icon in modern housing interior as an object of cult and religious purpose, a work of art, a cultural artifact. General scientific methods of research have been applied, including chronographic, historical-comparative as well as those relating to art studies – figurative-stylistic, semantic, iconographic. Theoretical and art terminological constructions have been used for determining the conceptual apparatus of design. There have been analysed the peculiarities of the location of the icon in the living interior as a cult object, a work of art,a symbolic object,a household object according to its purpose as: a) a subject of religious worship, b) a collector's item, c) a cultural object that embodies religious, national-historical , myth ‒ poetic, figurative ‒ artistic meanings and reveals the possibilities of their implementation in design practice;the icon as a cult object and a work of art embodies the property of an object as a phenomenon, process, action, state, practical or theoretical human activity. It was studied out that the use of the icon in the interior takes into account that the imagery of the icon as an "internal form" of art highlights the place of the image in the overall structure of artistic reproduction of spiritual content and material external form, the point of embodiment of one in another – materialization of spiritual and spiritualization of material. It is concluded that the use of the icon in the interior involves understanding its objective meaning as two aspects of existence – material and spiritual. The scientific novelty consists in determining the place and meaning of the icon as a household item in terms of content, compositional and aesthetic filling of the residential environment. The proposed materials expand the understanding of the possibility of forming a modern residential interior; the results can be used in residential design practice.
