This study aims to measure and describe students' decision-making to choose Vocational High School (SMK) in terms of their career understanding and motivation. The subjects of this study were 135 Year 9 students in five SMK throughout Southwest Aceh Regency. The total sampling method was used to choose the subjects from the entire population. Furthermore, the data were analysed using correlation analysis between variables partially and simultaneously with ANOVA (F test). The results of the partial correlation analysis show that the career understanding variable has a significant influence on students' decision-making to choose SMK with rcount = 0.411 at a significance level of 0.05. In addition, the motivation variable also has a significant influence on decision-making to choose SMK with rcount = 0.375. Simultaneously, career understanding and motivation significantly affect choosing SMK with Fcount = 19.850 and Ftable = 3.06 (Fcount > Ftable). This study results indicate that career understanding variables consist of work planning, work exploration and knowledge of the world of work. In contrast, the motivation variables consist of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, which could be the basis for students' decision making

Current learning is needed to emphasize student activities to be more constructive. However, learning emphasizes more on the target material and focuses on the final result. This study aims to improve student learning activities and outcomes in Automotive Engineering Basic Work subjects by implementing the ARCS learning model. This type of research is classroom action research, each cycle consisting of stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 40 students of tenth grade State Vocational High School in Purworejo, Indonesia. Data were collected through observation to determine the description of student activities during the learning process. Then the evaluation test was used to determine the final results of student learning after being given the ARCS learning model in the classroom. The study results indicate that the implementation of ARCS learning in the process provides progress on student learning activities and outcomes during the learning process. The results showed that the implementation of the ARCS model increased student learning activities by 74% and increased learning outcomes by 82%. Thus, it can be concluded that the ARCS learning model, in general, can have a potential effect because students are more constructive in learning so that it can be used as a learning reference in vocational high school.

The relationship between leadership behavior of principal and the organizational culture with teachers work discipline of Public Vocational High School of South Tangerang. A field research is aimed to find out the relationship between behavior leadership of principal and organizational culture with teacher’s work discipline of Public Vocational School of South Tangerang. The result of the research shows that: First, there is a positive relationship between the behavior leadership of principal with teacher’s work discipline. The result of correlation analysis between two research variables is gained that the relationship between behavior leadership of principal and teacher’s work discipline which is calculated by Pearson correlation is gained correlation coefficient value was 0.533. The value of determination coefficient in this analysis is gained 0.284, its means 28.4%. The variable of teacher’s work discipline can be explained from behavior leadership variable. The regression line is Ŷ = 75,735 + 0,670 X1. Second, there is a positive relationship between organizational cultures to teacher’s work discipline. The result of correlation analysis between to research variables is gained that the value of the relationship between organizational culture and teacher’s work discipline is calculated by Pearson correlation, and it is gained coefficient of correlation value 0.487 as many. The coefficient of determination’s value in this analysis is gained 0.238 which means 23.8 %. The variable of teacher’s work discipline can be explained by the variable of organizational culture. The regression line is Ŷ = 75,792 + 0,592 X2. Third, there is a positive relationship between behavior leadership of principal and organizational culture simultaneously to teacher’s work discipline is calculated by Pearson correlation and its gained coefficient correlation value 0.624 as many, then it is gained the determination of coefficient’s value 0.390 as many, which means 39 % the variable of organizational culture. The regression line is Ŷ = 47,812 + 0,522 X1 + 0,402 X2. Based on the result of the research we may say that behavior leadership of principal (X1), organizational culture (X2) have the relationship with teacher’s work discipline (Y). According to general criteria there is a relationship between behavior leadership of principal and organizational culture towards teacher’s work discipline at Public Vocational High School of South Tangerang. Hubungan antara perilaku kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan budaya organisasi dengan disiplin kerja guru dari SMK Tangerang Selatan. Sebuah penelitian lapangan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kepemimpinan perilaku kepala sekolah dan budaya organisasi dengan disiplin kerja guru dari SMK Tangerang Selatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: Pertama, terdapat hubungan positif antara perilaku kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dengan disiplin kerja guru. Hasil analisis korelasi antara dua variabel penelitian diperoleh bahwa hubungan antara kepemimpinan perilaku kepala sekolah dan disiplin kerja guru yang dihitung dengan korelasi Pearson diperoleh nilai koefisien korelasi adalah 0,533. Nilai koefisien determinasi dalam analisis ini diperoleh 0,284, yang berarti 28,4%. Variabel disiplin kerja guru dapat dijelaskan dari variabel perilaku kepemimpinan. Garis regresi Ŷ = 75.735 + 0.670 X1. Kedua, ada hubungan positif antara budaya organisasi dengan disiplin kerja guru. Hasil analisis korelasi antara variabel penelitian diperoleh bahwa nilai hubungan antara budaya organisasi dan disiplin kerja guru dihitung dengan korelasi Pearson, dan itu diperoleh koefisien nilai korelasi sebanyak 0,487. Koefisien determinasi dalam analisis ini diperoleh 0,238 yang berarti 23,8%. Variabel disiplin kerja guru dapat dijelaskan oleh variabel budaya organisasi. Garis regresi Ŷ = 75.792 + 0.592 X2. Ketiga, ada hubungan positif antara perilaku kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan budaya organisasi secara bersamaan dengan disiplin kerja guru dihitung dengan korelasi Pearson dan nilai koefisien korelasi yang diperoleh sebanyak 0,624, maka diperoleh penentuan nilai koefisien ini sebanyak 0.390, yang berarti 39% variabel budaya organisasi. Garis regresi Ŷ = 47.812 + 0.522 X1 + 0.402 X2. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian kita dapat dikatakan bahwa prinsip perilaku kepemimpinan (X1), budaya organisasi (X2) memiliki hubungan dengan disiplin kerja guru (Y). Menurut kriteria umum ada hubungan antara kepemimpinan perilaku kepala sekolah dan budaya organisasi terhadap disiplin kerja guru di SMK Tangerang Selatan.

<span>One of the factors that influence the level of employability is the motivation to learn and social support. This study aims to determine the effect of motivation to learn and social support on student employability. The participants in this study were 255 students of class XII in State Vocational High School 1 Kalasan Yogyakarta, obtained through random cluster sampling. The data collection was carried out by using an employability scale, motivation to learn scale and social support scale. The data analysis used in this study was multiple linear regression analysis. Our data analysis shows that motivation to learn and social support have a very significant effect on employability, seen through the F test that obtained a score of 44.798 and a significance level (p) of 0.000 (p &lt;0.01). In other words, the level of employability could be predicted based on students' level of motivation to learn and social support.</span>

This research aimed to find out the influence of students’ interests in choosing the mechanical engineering vocational program. The research method used was descriptive quantitative. The population in this study were all Grade X students in Yogyakarta which total number were 180 respondents. The data collecting technique was using questionnaires which then was analyzed using descriptive analysis and regression. The results of this study were (1) Students’ interests in choosing mechanical engineering vocational program was high. (2) There was a positive and significant influence from students’ own understanding, family, school, and society towards students’ interests in choosing the mechanical engineering vocational program, (3) The four variables, together, have positive and significant influences towards vocational high school students’ interests in choosing the mechanical engineering vocational program in Yogyakarta..

Low mathematical representation skill causes the inability of vocational students solving problems creatively as demanded by industries. Researches showed that blended problem-based learning (BL-PBL) combining online and offline learning to train students to independently solve problems was proven to increase mathematical skills in education levels other than vocational school. Therefore, this research aimed to evaluate BL-PBL effect to mathematical representation skill escalation in vocational high school. Quantitative study with pre-test and post-test control group design was performed to two randomly-chosen classes over vocational schools in Kabupaten Bandung Barat, West Java, Indonesia. Samples were divided into two groups: experimental (BL-PBL method) and control (lecture method). Initial skill was determined by pre-test while learning outcome was determined using post-test. Data was analysed by t-test and two-way ANOVA with 0.05 significance level using IBM SPSS. Result showed the initial skill of two groups was similar. After treatment, N-gain data uncovered a significant increase of representative skill in experimental group. While, two-way ANOVA test showed no interaction between learning model used and student grouping based on initial skill to representation skill. Finally, BL-PBL was proven to increase mathematical representation skill in vocational students and, hence, is suggested to be implemented in vocational high school

A decision-making process in an organization is more effective if it is supported by reliable and valid information systems. Management Information System (MIS) and Decision Support System (DSS) are two systems commonly used by organizational leaders to collect information for making the Quality of Decision (QD). This study aimed to empirically investigate MIS influences on vocational high school principals’ QD. Besides, this study examined the moderation effect of the DSS on the decision-making processes. This quantitative research employed the survey method and purposive sampling technique. As many as 60 vocational high school principals and vice-principals in Yogyakarta, Indonesia were the participants of this study. They filled in questionnaires consisting of 19 items that were developed using the Likert scale. The quantitative data obtained were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling. The research findings show that MIS has a significant effect on the quality of the decision-making process by vocational high school principals. However, for improving the decision quality, the model must be assisted by DSS as the moderator variable. MIS carries information required for principals while DSS provides data, model, and analysis instruments used for special cases in vocational high schools.

This study aimsat determine how the teacher creativity and interaction in learning effects on student interest in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic at State Vocational High School 2 KuripanAcademic Year 2020/2021. The research method used by the researcher was 1) the sample used in this study was 100 students, 2) the data collection method used was the questionnaire and documentation method, then 3) the data analysis technique used was descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis, conducted using SPSS 16 software. The results of data analysis shows that: 1) There was a positive influence on teacher creativity in learning on student interest in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic, based on the significance level of teacher creativity (X1) 0.000 <0.05, and the value of t-count 3.805 that is greater than t-table 1.984; 2) There is a significant effect of teacher learning interaction on student interest in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic, based on significance level of teacher interaction (X2)0.008 <0.05, and the t-count value of 2.719 greater than t-table 1.984;and 3) There is a significant effect of teacher creativity and interaction in learning on student learning interest during the Covid-19 pandemic with an F-count value of 15.213 that is higher than the value of F-table 3.09. Based on the results of the analysis, all Ha-s are accepted. Finally, it can be concluded that teacher creativity and interaction in learning have a significant effect both partially and simultaneously onstudent interest in the Covid-19 pandemic at State Vocational High School 2 Kuripan Academic Year 2020/2021. Keywords: Teacher Creativity, Student Learning Interest

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Kepemimpinan Kepala Sekolah, Komitmen Guru, Disiplin Kerja Guru, dan Budaya Sekolah terhadap Kinerja Guru di SMK Negeri Kabupaten Sleman Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian korelasional dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh guru di SMK Negeri yang berada di Kabupaten Sleman yang berjumlah 659 orang. Penentuan ukuran sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik random sampling dengan mengacu table Krejcie dan Morgan. Uji coba instrumen menggunakan uji validitas dan uji reliabilitas Alpha Cronbach’s. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji prasyarat analisis yang meliputi uji normalitas, uji linieritas dan uji multikolinieritas. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan analisis regresi dengan tingkat signifikansi ditentukan sebesar 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap kinerja guru; (2) terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan komitmen guru terhadap kinerja guru; (3) terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan disiplin guru terhadap kinerja guru sebesar; (4) terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan budaya sekolah terhadap kinerja guru; (5) terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan kinerja kepemimpinan, komitmen guru, disiplin kerja guru dan budaya sekolah secara simultan terhadap  kinerja guru.Kata Kunci: kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, komitmen, disiplin kerja, budaya sekolah, kinerja guru THE INFLUENCE OF PRINCIPAL’S LEADERSHIP, TEACHER’S COMMITMENT, TEACHER’S WORK DISCIPLINE, AND SCHOOL CULTURE ON VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER’S PERFORMANCEAbstractThis research is aimed to know the influence of  Principal’s Leadership, Teacher’s Commitment, Teacher’s Work Discipline, and School Culture on Teacher’s Performance in SMK Negeri in Sleman District. The method of analyzing the data uses analysis precondition test which covers normality test, linearity test and multicollinearity test. The hypothesis proposal uses regression analysis with significance level determined by 5%. The results of this research indicate that: (1) there is a positive and significant influence on the principal's leadership on teacher performance; (2) there is a positive and significant influence on teacher's commitment to teacher performance; (3) there is a positive and significant influence from teacher discipline on teacher performance as much; (4) there is a positive and significant influence on school culture on teacher performance; (5) there is a positive and significant influence on leadership performance, teacher commitment, teacher work discipline and school culture simultaneously on teacher performanceKeywords: principal’s leadership, commitment, teacher’s work discipline, school culture, teacher’s performance

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh budaya organisasi dan motivasi terhadap kinerja guru dengan menggunakan metode survey explanatory. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dengan skor yang terentang antara 1 sampai 5 model rating scale. Responden adalah guru Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan di Kota Bandung. Teknik analisis data menggunakan regresi. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa budaya organisasi di sekolah dan motivasi memiliki pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru, baik secara parsial maupun simultan. Oleh karena itu, kinerja guru dapat ditingkatkan melalui peningkatan budaya organisasi dan motivasi. Implikasinya adalah adanya kebutuhan untuk Kepala Sekolah atau pemimpin lainnya dalam mengambil tindakan yang berkaitan dengan peningkatan kinerja guru.Kata Kunci: kinerja guru, budaya organisasi, motivasi ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE AND MOTIVATION AS PREDICTORS OF TEACHER PERFORMANCE AT VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOLThe purpose of this study was to analyze influence organizational culture and motivation to teacher performance. Data were analyzed using regression. The result of the study revealed organizational culture and motivation both partially and simultaneously, has the positive and significant influence toward teacher performance. Thus the teacher's performance can be improved through increased organizational culture and motivation. The implication is a need for the principal or other leaders in taking actions related to the improvement of teacher performance.Keywords: teacher performance, organizational culture, motivation
