Therefore, in some community service schemes, the entrepreneurship sector or MSME sector enhancement is encouraged so that it can be developed in the community. The hope is that with the emergence of new entrepreneurs, the economic sector of society will grow and become more established, so that other sectors such as education and health can be more secure. Various parties are expected to become agents of change for improvement in the economic sector and MSMEs. Through the KKN PPM program, the University of Muhammadiyah Metro team tries to become an agent to grow new entrepreneurs with a special target, namely young people in Pujokerto Village, Trimurjo District, Central Lampung. The reason for choosing this location is because most of the youth and girls in this village are hereditary farmers, which is considered from the perspective of their entrepreneurial orientation is still quite low. The method used in this service is a personal approach, FGD, comparative studies, and the implementation of entrepreneurship. The result of this dedication was the formation of a youth-based entrepreneurship group called Usaha Muda Mudi Mandiri (UM3) and the creation of a business for the group in the form of raising and hatching catfish, as well as training in making wedding souvenirs from Tali Kur.Keywords: Youth-based entrepreneurship, youth entrepreneur groups, KKN PPM

There are 275 million tonnes of plastic waste produced worldwide based on data compiled by Jenna R. Jambeck of the University of Georgia in 2010, and about 4.8-12.7 million tonnes of them were wasted and polluted the sea. As a coastal population of 187.2 million, each year Indonesia is producing an astonishing amount of plastic waste. It is an irony when Indonesia becomes one of the fourth largest waste-producing countries in the world. This problem motivated us to provide community service about a minimal waste lifestyle and invite young people in Yogyakarta to change their mindset towards plastic waste. The method of community service is carried out by holding a mini workshop with the theme of minimal Waste Lifestyle, to provide a change in mindset for the people involved, so that they can adopt a lifestyle of minimal waste. The results of this community service shows that to implement a minimal waste lifestyle, continuous education is needed so that people can adopt this lifestyle starting from themselves and reusing existing waste.

AbstractEntrepreneurship understood as a manifestation of economic activity is an issue widely discussed in literature, especially in the field of economics. Today, a large part of society is involved in establishing and running a business, hence the shaping of entrepreneurial behaviors gains importance among all age groups, especially young people. The main objective of the conducted research was to examine the interest in starting their own business by students and to verify whether the direction of their studies or role in the group affects the students’ willingness to start a business and whether a family member runs a business influences this interest and moreover, whether capital and the idea are the two main criteria conditioning the decision.. The conclusions were based on a study, i.e. (mainly) the cross-analysis of data collected as part of a survey conducted among students of the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów.

African-Australian young people are over-represented in custody in the state of Victoria. It has been recognized in recent government and stakeholder strategic plans that African-Australian community service providers are well placed to help address the increasing complex needs of at-risk African-Australian youth. However little is known about the capacities of such providers to effectively contend with this growing social concern. In response, this study aimed to explore the perspectives and operational (service delivery and governance) experiences of African-Australian community organizations which provide services to at-risk young people in Victoria. Through a series of in-depth interviews with the leadership of eight key African-Australian service providers, we aimed to identify their perceived strengths, obstacles faced and proposed strategies to realize key objectives. Perspectives on key risk factors for young African-Australian justice system contact were also gathered. Several themes were extracted from the interviews, specifically (i) Risk factors for African-Australian youth justice-involvement (school disengagement, peer delinquency, family breakdown, intergenerational discord, perceived social rejection), (ii) The limitations of mainstream institutions to reduce African-Australian youth justice-involvement (too compliance focused, inflexible, business rather than human-centered, disconnected from communities and families), (iii) The advantages of African-Australian community service providers when working with African-Australian youth (community credibility, client trust, flexibility, culturally responsive), (iv) The challenges faced by African-Australian service providers (lack of funding/resources, professional staff shortages, infrastructural/governance limitations), and (v) “What works” in service provision for at-risk African-Australians (client involvement in program design, African staff representation, extensive structured programming matched with client aspirations, prioritizing relationship building, persistent outreach, mental health and legal literacy for clients and families). Implications for service delivery and social policy are discussed within.

The arts—and the arts and culture sector—offer fertile ground for achieving a culture of health in the United States. The arts and artists are agents of change and can help enable this vision and also address the most critical public health issues we are contending with, including COVID-19 and racism. The arts provide means for engaging dialogue, influencing behaviors, disrupting paradigms and fueling social movements. The arts uncover and illuminate issues. They engage us emotionally and intellectually. They challenge assumptions. They call out injustice. They drive collective action. They heal—making arts + public health collaboration very relevant in this historic moment. In this special Health Promotion Practice supplement on arts in public health, you’ll find powerful examples and evidence of how cross-sector collaboration between public health and the arts can advance health promotion goals and impacts, and make health promotion programs not only more accessible to diverse populations but also more equitable and effective in addressing the upstream systems, policies, and structures that create health disparities. You will see how the arts can empower health communication, support health literacy, provide direct and measurable health benefits to individuals and communities, and support coping and resilience in response to COVID-19. This issue itself exemplifies cross-sector collaboration, as it was created through partnership between Health Promotion Practice, the Society for Public Health Education, ArtPlace America, and the University of Florida Center for Arts in Medicine, and presents voices from across the public health, arts, and community development sectors.
