The article highlights the methods of strategic analysis in order to define the competitive positions of oil and gas companies of Kazakhstan. The forecast of oil production in Kazakhstan in 2016-2030 in the context of land and sea production and the footage in exploration drilling in Kazakhstan in the context of the largest customers have been submitted. The main barriers for entering and functioning of the market of oil sale have been defined. Oil production by the companies subject to the share of "National Company KazMunaiGas", JSC has been analyzed. The characteristic of the market of oil production and petroservice has been given. The competitive analysis revealed that dynamics of the market share in 2015-2016 for the majority of the presented companies was stated as negative, which was the result of growing competition from the foreign companies (Chinese) and strengthening of competitive force of "JSCKazMunaiGas", JSC and its affiliates (50% and 100% societies). The strategic analysis of the leading oil and gas companies of Kazakhstan was fulfilled with application of methods of ABC analysis; it allowed to reveal groups of oil and gas companies in the Kazakhstan market which have the greatest impact on formation of significant indicators in the considered economic area. There has been built the matrix of analysis of growth rate of branch share and sales in the context of dynamics of exploration drilling, revenues from sales of oil, gas and their processing products. The market leader is "Tengizshevroil", JSC. It has been found that the external economic conditions, which were characterized by low price per oil barrel in the world market, had a great impact on the oil production sector in Kazakhstan.

In this study, a relationship between the mood of news and the response of the oil and gas industry index of the Russian Federation was revealed. The empirical base of the study included 8.5 million news from foreign sources. Research methodology: fuzzy sets, naive Bayesian classifier, Pearson correlation coefficient. As a result of the research, it was discovered that: 1) negative news affects the stronger than the positive on the stock index; 2) news on companies affect the value of the index, and news on the industry affect the volume of trading; 3) the sanctions did not significantly affect the coverage of Russian oil and gas companies.

The study compares domestic and foreign companies in the oil and gas sector for the first time and identifies the distinctive features of each group. The results of calculations showed that the profit of any large oil and gas company is affected by revenue, cost of production and the amount of tax deductions. Moreover, the refinancing rate of the country where the company is registered is important for the activities of oil and gas companies.

ABSTRACT The application of various quantitative techniques and assumptions by different authors to forecast the world’s conventional crude oil production in the 21st Century results in highly inconsistent predictions. The forecasts attempt to pinpoint the peak world oil production year (Hubbert’s Peak), peak production rate, and post-peak decline rate, based on estimates of the ultimate recoverable reserves (EURR). These techniques, pioneered by M.K. Hubbert in the mid-1950s, generally consider economic factors, such as the price of oil, as irrelevant in the long run. Some authors support a Low EURR World Scenario (about 2.0 trillion barrels, of which half has already been produced) and forecast Hubbert’s Peak in this decade. Other authors estimate the EURR at about 3.0 trillion barrels (Median EURR World Scenario), and this estimate is the mean EURR assessment of the United States Geological Survey and similar to assessments by several major oil and gas companies. An EURR of 3.0 trillion barrels implies Hubbert’s Peak will occur in 2020, or so, at a production rate of about 90–100 million barrels/day (compared to 85 million barrels/day in late 2005). A few authors support a High EURR World Scenario (4.0 trillion barrels or more) with Hubbert’s Peak in 2030 at a rate of 120 million barrels/day. Sensitivity analysis for Hubbert’s Curve suggest that Hubbert’s Peak moves by three years for every 200 billion barrels of error in the EURR.

The article analyzes the current state of the oil and gas complex in Russia. Steady trends in changes in the structure of production by major mining macro–regions and companies have been identified. Systematized conditions that contributed to the deterioration of the parameters of the oil and gas complex of Russia. Among which are a reduction in oil production in the framework of the agreements between the participating countries OPEC + transaction in April 2020, falling oil prices on the world market, in particular Urals, to $ 15–20 per barrel, reduced demand for oil and other energy carriers due to the multiplier effect on the production and other sectors of the economy from the spread of coronavirus.

The main purpose of this study is to outline and identify the influences of employees' job and organizational engagement on their scouting behavior. The study investigates the structural mechanisms between the effectiveness of quality of organizationemployees relationship, intrinsic motivation, creative process engagement, and training effectiveness, as well as their effectiveness on employee scouting. The study was conceived and carried out using the form of Quantitative Analysis. Iraq has identified the survey community; a total of 150 respondents have received from employees of oil and gas companies. Simple and multiple regression analysis was used to analyzing the hypothesis of study. The present study builds on the connectivity parameters of employees at both personal (e.g., intrinsic motivation of creativity, innovative process involvement) and organizational or administrative levels (e.g., the quality of employees' perceived relationship with their organization, perceived training effectiveness) when developing a model that connects the scouting behaviors of employees and their context in a comprehensive measured way. Simple and multiple regression methods were demonstrated between the variables to the examinations of the hypothesis in our study, and by analyzing our data we could support the relationship between the variables and the hypotheses

The paper is devoted to the basic principles of the trend of logging, namely logging while drilling (LWD), which is new for Ukraine. The LWD technology has a number of advantages over other logging types, in particular, in supplementary exploration and production of hydrocarbons in fields that are in longterm development. In this case, the drilling of horizontal wells, which by productivity is much higher than the vertical ones, is important. For the investigations of horizontal wells, we proposed a universal compact radioactive logging tool with small diameter, which is placed in entire drill collar just before drilling. The combined radioactive logging tool LWD-КПРК-48 (48 mm in diameter) contains dual-spacing modules of neutron logging, neutron-gamma logging, density logging, as well as separately placed gamma-logging unit. Calibration works with the developed combined tool were carried out on physical models of reservoirs in the presence of drill collars and corresponding calibration dependences on porosity and density were obtained. They, together with the developed methods and other data, allow us to determine an extended set of petrophysical parameters, namely, the porosity of water-, oil- and gas-saturated reservoirs, the identification parameters of fluid: water – oil and water – gas, oil-, gas- and water saturation, volume content of oil and gas, etc. Test of a logging tool LWD-КПРК-48 when drilling a horizontal well in an oil-bearing bed showed high informativity and efficiency of product. The created apparatus and methodical complex for the investigation of horizontal oil and gas wells while drilling has several advantages over known analogues, in particular, is universal, convenient, more available to mining and well logging oil and gas companies.

Over the past decades, discovery of giant hydrocarbon fields at the depth of above 10 km in the World oceans enables the possibility of identifying oil and gas at great depths of the South Caspian depression (SCD).The main oil and gas resources in this region are associated with the Productive Series (PS) -Red Series (RS) of the Lower Pliocene. Paleogene-Miocene and Mesozoic sediments in the southern Caspian are submerged to great depths, the prospects of their oil and gas potential are associated with the most uplifted tectonic zones.The Northern Absheron, that is considered as one of the promising areas of this region, covers the uplifts zone under the same name that is the most elevated tectonic unit of the South Caspian. The zone under consideration consists of two anticlinal lines, within which about 20 structures have been identified and explored. Currently, about 10 structures are covered by prospecting and exploration drilling and 5 prospective oil and gas structures have been identified: Absheron kupesi, Western Absheron, Novkhany, Ashrafi, Garabakh.Testing of exploration wells on the structures Gilavar, Hali, Arzu, Ashrafi, Mardakan-deniz and Oguz has not been positive. It should be noted that the deep structure of these uplifts is poorly studied by seismic exploration. Detailed integrated geophysical survey at modern technological and methodological levels is necessary to examine the relation of structural plans of sediments of various ages. The prospects oil and gas field exploration are associated with the lower part of the PS, Miocene, Cretaceous and Jurassic.It should be noted that despite negative conclusions of some foreign researchers on non-productiveness of the structures above, in recent years, the data obtained from the results of new geological and geophysical methods give SOCAR the basis to resume exploration drilling without involvement of foreign companies.

This article aims to explain how and why foreign oil and gas companies carry influence over the government in the upstream oil and gas sector. It looks at the troubling issue of domination in Indonesia particularly before the Gross Split mechanism was introduced. From a transnational point of view, states and non-states continuously attempt to overpower the other to gain the most from this industry. Although the roles and obligations of foreign oil and gas companies are strictly regulated, domination is still visible in areas of cost recovery to add to the weak domestic market resulting in an asymmetric competition. Market failures have become increasingly alarming as liftings continue to fail to reach the national quota. Using the introduction of the Gross Split mechanism as a turning point, this article looks back at how transnationalism has translated into this sector. This article is of the view that the lack of effort to enrich knowledge bases, enforce the adoption of appropriate technology and prepare its domestic market for healthy competition, has brought it further away from addressing its underlying issues.

The competition aggravation in the world oil and gas markets forces the companies to realize projects not only within the country, but also abroad for ensuring competitive advantage. When elaborating of strategies of development and investment programs the oil and gas companies face the need of cost estimation related to participation in international projects. In this article the methodology developed by authors of cost estimation related to participation in international oil and gas projects is presented. Approbation was carried out on the project of Wheatstone LNG production and supply. Application of research results will allow the oil and gas companies to carry out the efficiency assessment of participation in the international projects, and also to reduce time and to increase scientific validity of development of strategy and investment programs.
