The article provides an economic and geographical analysis of the demographic processes in China, considering a set of natural and geographic factors, selected to reflect the influence of the state policy of family planning, as well as the policy for the development of separate regions in the period under study. The methodology included the use of geoinformation technologies, classification method and geographical systematization. Based on the identified spatial differences at the level of provinces, radical and previously absent spatial shifts in the demographic processes in China were established for the first time. They consist in the formation of positive and negative dynamics zones, as well as natural increase and natural decline zones. The demographic balance, for the first time calculated for the provinces of China, for 2010 and 2019, made it possible to indicate the dominance of provinces of a progressive type (53.0%) and a zone of provinces of a regressive type (8.8%). The established trend proves not only a differentiation, but also a spatial polarization at the national level and acts as a phenomenon of modern demographic development in China, in the 21st century. The results of the geographical systematization of the demographic space has practical significance as it provides the opportunity to use this methodology at the microgeographic level in other territories and serves as a scientific justification for the development of the directions of China’s regional demographic policy.

The article substantiates the theoretical provisions for improving the implementation of state demographic policy based on the development of its institutional support. It is proposed to create a single subject of organizational and economic influence on demographic development. The concept of activity of such subject on blocks is specified: the purposes and tasks, principles of activity, sources of financing, a product of activity (strategy of the state regulation of demographic development of region, the program of its realization), expected result. The main tasks of the Regional Commission for Demographic Development should be: ensuring cooperation between state executive bodies, local governments, public organizations; conducting demographic examination of regulations, socio-economic programs to identify possible demographic factors and the consequences of management decisions at the regional and local levels that may affect the demographic development of the region, or relate to those aspects of regional development that depend on demographic processes; monitoring of the demographic situation in the districts and cities of the region, analysis of the practice of implementation of demographic policy in the region, evaluation of the effectiveness of the measures taken; preparation of proposals for improving policies in the field of stimulating the birth rate, reducing mortality and regulating migration processes; organization of sociological research on the implementation of demographic policy measures; holding meetings, conferences, seminars on issues related to the development and implementation of state regulation of demographic development; interregional cooperation on the regulation of demographic processes. For the first time in 22 years, an official census of population was carried out on the territory of the Republika Srpska. This is the first time that we have data (preliminary results) based on which we can examine the demographic situation, spatial distribution of the population and certain ongoing demographic processes. Based on the analysis of preliminary results on the total number of enumerated persons and through the analysis of natural increase in migration flows, the article will present the demographic problem faced by the Republika Srpska. The analysis of first results shows that entire regions have low population densities, being affected by depopulation which is caused mainly by negative natural movements and migrations. Rural areas which represented a demographic potential are being depopulated and some of them have no inhabitants at all. The unfavourable spatial distribution, low level of natural regeneration and constant emigration seriously endanger the total number of population in the Republika Srpska, which has been steadily declining ever since 2002. Constant negative socio-economic effects in the short term could jeopardize the development of the population and the very maintenance of infrastructure in settlements in Republika Srpska.

The article describes the demographic context of the development of the digital economy in Russia, systematizes the directions of the possible impact of the digitalization of the economy on demographic processes, analyzes the prerequisites for the inequality of different demographic groups in the near future in the digital reality. Based on the analysis of statistical data and expert assessments, a systematic view on the mutual impact of the digitalization of the economy and demographic development is proposed for the first time, a number of questions are raised about the possible strengthening of inequality of individual socio-demographic groups in the process of digitalization. It is shown that the demographic context can play a significant role in the digitalization of the economy, which, in turn, affects the demographic development and digital inequality.

Based on the types of population movement model, in the paper is determined the extent of demographic processes that influenced the formation of functional urban regions in Serbia. Demographic processes expressed by immigration-emigration and the natural component of the population development in the settlements of the Republic of Serbia from 1981 to 2002, aimed to identify spatial, demographic and functional changes and determine the degree of spatial differentiation of the Republic of Serbia through respecting the specificity of its territorial parts. Especially is emphasized the period from 1991 to 2002 when Republic of Serbia had a demographic decline in its entirety, with certain differences in the spatial manifestation but also in the intensity of relationship between natural and migration component of regional areas of the country. In Vojvodina, the migration balance had high values with whom he was able to compensate the consequences of negative natural growth. In the settlements of central Serbia the low values of migration balance even more emphasized negative natural increase, which together reflected on the overall demographic decline at the national level. Functional urban regions are recognized as the instruments of balanced regional development of Serbia. Generally are given the possible directions of further functional spatial development that could perspectively influence the rational organization of the territory of the Republic of Serbia.

At the beginning of the observed period, the population dynamics in Eastern Herzegovina was characterized by stagnation, followed by the decrease of the total population, primarily due to traditionally present emigration, but also due to negative natural population growth. Birth rates decreasing processes, population ageing, and some other predominantly negative demographic processes have been reported for decades. This area has a low population density, while spatial distribution of the population is characterized by concentration in settlements which have the function of a municipal centre. Contemporary demographic indicators (of natural increase of population and migration) indicate further decrease in population of this region, especially of its rural parts. This is also shown by the previous 2013 Census data. Keeping in mind the current demographic indicators and characteristics of the population, side by side with weak economic development of this region, it may be expected that negative trends in population development will continue.

The article discusses the theoretical and practical aspects of the migration policy of the Russian Federation in the context of the demographic crisis in 2021-2025, in the coordinates of the implementation of the activities of the plan for the second period of stage III of the Concept of the demographic policy of the Russian Federation until 2025, approved by the Order of September 16, 2021 No. 2580-r .2 The features of the demographic development of individual subjects of the Russian Federation in 2020 are discussed. The article deals with the issues of the methodology for analyzing migration processes as complex simultaneously social, economic, and demographic processes with the smallest inertial lag. The issue of legitimacy in these extraordinary objective and subjective conditions — raised in September 2021, is brought up for discussion. By the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin, the task of reaching positive dynamics of the population already by the end of 2024, the choice of priority constituent entities of the Russian Federation, in order to activate in the conditions of the demographic crisis, at the regional level, the peculiar "points of growth" and specific situational measures of migration policy in the Russian Federation are not at the federal level, but at the level of individual constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Especially those who, in the emergency sanitary and epidemiological conditions of 2020, despite the pandemic, came with a positive contribution of migration to their demographic development. The proposal of S.V. Ryazantsev on the priorities of migration policy for the countries of Central Asia is being considered.

Subject. This study focuses on the Finno-Ugric peoples carrying unique cultural customs and traditions. Objectives. I evaluate how various factors influence the demographic development of the Finno-Ugric peoples. Methods. Analyzing the current situation, I refer to official statistics and the Health for All database of the World Health Organization, statistical yearbooks of the Russian State Statistics Service. All data were organized as a special information system including several related blocks, such as economic development of locations, demographic situation, health and healthcare. Research was based on the comparative analysis of key medical-demographic and socio-economic indicators, and economic-mathematical apparatus. Results. I comprehensively evaluated the current situation macro- and mesoeconomically by gradually shifting from the comparison of countries to regional trends. I traced patterns of medical and demographic processes in the Finno-Ugric countries, such as Hungary, Finland and Estonia, and national autonomies across Russia. Conclusions and Relevance. I discovered that there is a certain relationship between a man and environment that translate into physical and physical health of people. They should be taken into consideration when outlining demographic development programs. The findings can be used to prepare regional medical and demographic documents, including the prevention of suicidal behavior and alcoholism and general medical services.

Since 1994, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has funded the National Immunization Survey (NIS), a large telephone survey used to estimate vaccination coverage of U.S. children aged 19–35 months. The NIS is a two-phase survey that obtains vaccination receipt information from a random-digit-dialed survey, designed to identify households with eligible children, followed by a provider record check, which obtains provider-reported vaccination histories for eligible children. In 2006, the survey was expanded for the first time to include a national sample of adolescents aged 13–17 years, called the NIS-Teen. This article summarizes the methodology used in the NIS-Teen. In 2008, the NIS-Teen was expanded to collect state-specific and national-level data to determine vaccination coverage estimates. This survey provides valuable information to guide immunization programs for adolescents.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to elucidate the role that visual measures of attention to product and information and price display signage have on purchase intention. The authors assessed the effect of visual attention to the product, information or price sign on purchase intention, as measured by likelihood to buy. Design/methodology/approach – The authors used eye-tracking technology to collect data from Australian and US garden centre customers, who viewed eight plant displays in which the signs had been altered to show either price or supplemental information (16 images total). The authors compared the role of visual attention to price and information sign, and the role of visual attention to the product when either sign was present on likelihood to buy. Findings – Overall, providing product information on a sign without price elicited higher likelihood to buy than providing a sign with price. The authors found a positive relationship between visual attention to price on the display sign and likelihood to buy, but an inverse relationship between visual attention to information and likelihood to buy. Research limitations/implications – An understanding of the attention-capturing power of merchandise display elements, especially signs, has practical significance. The findings will assist retailers in creating more effective and efficient display signage content, for example, featuring the product information more prominently than the price. The study was conducted on a minimally packaged product, live plants, which may reduce the ability to generalize findings to other product types. Practical implications – The findings will assist retailers in creating more effective and efficient display signage content. The study used only one product category (plants) which may reduce the ability to generalize findings to other product types. Originality/value – The study is one of the first to use eye-tracking in a macro-level, holistic investigation of the attention-capturing value of display signage information and its relationship to likelihood to buy. Researchers, for the first time, now have the ability to empirically test the degree to which attention and decision-making are linked.
