The phenomenon of students studying in Islamic boarding schools comes from various regions of Indonesia and even from foreign countries. The multicultural aspect also appears in the diversity of potentials and talents possessed by students. To minimize the friction between students leading to more significant conflict, presumably, the development of a multicultural education curriculum is a solution that can be developed at Islamic boarding schools. Evaluations are carried out to check or supervise multicultural curriculum programs that have been implemented. This research uses a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data collection techniques are in-depth interviews (in-depth interviews), participant observation, study documentation. Data analysis techniques are data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing or verification. The results showed that: Evaluation of multicultural education curriculum development at Darul Hikmah Tulungagung Islamic Boarding School was carried out by 1) Boarding school curriculum material, KMI curriculum evaluation (kuliyatul mualimin al-Islamiyah) was carried out every year, by bringing in teachers, foundations, caregivers and experts to knowing whether the curriculum is still relevant or not, needs to be added or not decided at the meeting. And 2) Madrasa curriculum material, madrasa curriculum evaluation is carried out every year to find out the shortcomings in accommodating input on the curriculum by presenting caregivers, madrasa principals, teachers and education experts who discuss curriculum objectives, curriculum material, curriculum methods and curriculum evaluation. 3) evaluating the achievement of behaviours related to multicultural issues by monitoring and observing internally and externally. Fenomena santri-santri yang belajar di pondok pesantren berasal dari berbagai daerah wilayah Indonesia bahkan dari manca negara. Fenomena multikultural juga nampak pada keragaman potensi dan talenta yang dimiliki santri. Dalam rangka meminimalkan gesekan antara santri yang mengarah pada konflik yang lebih besar kiranya adanya pengembangan kurikulum pendidikan multikultural adalah solusi yang dapat dikembangkan pada pondok pesantren. Evaluasi dilaksanakan untuk mengecek ataupun mengawasi program kurikulum multikultural yang telah dilaksanakan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menggunakan rancangan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan datanya adalah wawancara mendalam (in depth interview), observasi partisipan, studi dokumentasi. Teknik Analisis datanya adalah reduksi data (data reduction), penyajian data (data displays), dan penarikan kesimpulan atau verifikasi (conclusion drawing atau veriffication). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: Evaluasi pengembangan kurikulum pendidikan multikultural di Pondok Pesantren Darul Hikmah Tulungagung dilakukan dengan jalan: 1) materi kurikulum pondok, evaluasi kurikulum KMI (Kuliyatul Mualimin Al Islamiyah) dilakukan setiap tahun, dengan mendatangkan para guru, yayasan, Pengasuh serta pakar untuk mengetahui masih relevan atau tidak kurikulum, perlu ditambah atau tidak akan diputuskan dalam pertemuan. dan 2) materi kurikulum madrasah Evaluasi kurikulum madrasah dilakukan setiap tahun untuk mengetahui kekurangan-kekurangan dalam menampung masukan mengenai kurikulum dengan menghadirkan pengasuh, kepala madrasah, guru dan pakar pendidikan yang membahas mengenai tujuan kurikulum, materi kurikulum, metode kurikulum dan evaluasi kurikulum. 3) evaluasi pencapaian perilaku terkait isu multikultural melakukan dengan monitoring dan observasi secara internal dan eksternal.

The purpose of the research is to describe code mixing or billingualisme in communication among students of Al Hikmah Sukoharjo Islamic Boarding School. Daily conversation among students was analyzed as data of the research. This is descriptive qualitative study which use participant observation technique. technique of analysis was used by the researcher before, during, and after research in the field. This technique emphasize several stages namely data collection, data reduction, display data and conclusion. Data collection was obtained in two weeks then classified  into sub category then drawn conclusion. The findings showed that some code mixings were used by students frequently were Javannese, Indonesia and arabic. The findings showed that billingualism wudu consists of  1) word insertion, 2) phrases insertion, 3) clauses insertion, and 4) idiom insertion.The main factor in using billingualism in communication among students is multicultural, education level of speaker and purpose of speech. The development and sustainability of Islamic Boarding School are strongly influenced by the regeneration of the leadership of kiai as a successor of the vision and mission, depending upon their disciplines. Regeneration of the leadership of kiai often occurs on the basis of lineage to maintain and respond the developmental and institutional dynamics in the boarding school. The research is intended to analyze and discover the leadership patterns of kiai, the shifting patterns of the leadership, and the impact of the shift towards the development of the institutions. This study is phenomenological. The data collection techniques employed were observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data analysis procedures were data reduction, data display, and conclusion. Tringualation was used to check the data validity, credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability.The findings of the research reveal the following results. Firstly, the pattern of the leadership of kiai is preserving and maintaining lineage or dzurriyyah (leader is born). The characteristics of the leadership of kiai are paternalistic, charismatic, pseudo-democratic, and transcendent-transformative. Secondly, the shifting patterns of the leadership of kiai are maintaining direct dzurriyah, direct and closest dzurriyyah, and indirect and closest dzurriyyah. The patterns are based on the following principles: a) capable to maintain knowledge and the characteristics of the boarding school, b) able to maintain the values of the ​​boarding schools and families (dzurriyyah), c) able to maintain the values ​​and patterns of leadership characteristics which are paternalistic, charismatic, pseudo-democratic, and transcendent-transformative, and d) finally, able to maintain the institutional characteristics of the boarding schools which are salafiyah, salafiyah-khalafiyah, and khalafiyah. Thirdly,  the impacts of the leadership shift of kiai are as follows. a) the leadership pattern is more open and accepts value changes. b) Diversity of institutional models occurs from salafiyah, salafiyah-khalafiyah, and khalafiyah. c) the models of institutional buildings are from wood and bamboo to modern buildings. d) the quality of human resources is in the forms of expertises religious knowledge and science. e) the management of santri is from traditional to classical management models, and f) the outputs or graduates involve in the works for the religious instution and community services in his environment.

Multicultural education has an important role in shaping the character of students to respect others and to foster a social spirit. Madrasas and Islamic boarding schools are Islamic educational institutions that have a major influence in shaping the character of students. This study aims to determine the differences in the implementation of multicultural education in MAN 3 Sleman and the Nurul Ummah Kotagede Islamic boarding school in Yogyakarta.The research method used is a comparative qualitative method, namely research that compares two or more entities. This study focuses on the similarities and differences between these two schools by comparing them with the same variables. Multicultural values include: diversity, humanity, pluralism, democracy, curriculum, culture, public relations, and comfort. From the results of the study it can be seen that in implementing multicultural education in both institutions, there are similar methods in its implementation.[Pendidikan multikultural mempunyai peran penting dalam membentuk karakter siswa untuk menghargai sesama serta untuk menumbuhkan jiwa sosial terhadap peserta didik. Madrasah dan pondok pesantren merupakan lembaga pendidikan islam yang mempunyai pengaruh besar dlama membentuk karakter siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan implementasi pendidikan multikultural di MAN 3 Sleman dan pondok pesantren Nurul Ummah Kotagede Yogyakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif komparatif, yaitu penelitian yang membandingkan dua gejala atau lebih. Penelitian ini berfokus pada persamaan dan perbedaan antar unit dengan membandingkan variabel yang sama untuk sampel yang berbeda. Nilai-nilai multikultural antara lain: keragaman, humanis, pluralis, demokrasi, kurikulum, budaya, hubungan masyarakat dan kenyamanan. Dari hasil penelitian, dapat diketahui bahwa dalam pengimplementasian pendidikan multikultural di kedua lembaga tersebut terdapat metode yang sama dalam pengimplementasiannya.]

Islamic boarding schools are traditional Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia that have grown and developed several centuries ago. Islamic boarding schools, in fact, are potential institutions to move towards a people-based economy, as well as the strength they have. If the Ponpes are only spectators in the coming era, other micro-economic institutions may move towards progress. Therefore, a careful analysis is needed to strengthen this economic institution, so that it does not go wrong. This study aims to develop the independence of santri through the santriprenenur program. The study was conducted at the Miftahul Mubtadiin Krempyang Nganjuk Islamic Boarding School. In-depth interviews and non-participating observations were used in data collection. in an effort to ensure the validity of the research data. The results of the study indicate that the santripreneurship program can develop well, so that it can become one of the vital economic supports of Islamic boarding schools, which have an impact on society.

Abstract: The main capital that causes a Kiai to succeed indeveloping education in Islamic boarding schools is, in essence,extraordinary knowledge in his leadership in developing education inhis Islamic boarding school. So that education in Islamic boardingschools that are developing at this time is solely dependent on theleadership of the Kiai in developing his education. Based on thedescription of the problem, the researcher raised the title "KiaiLeadership in developing educational curriculum in Islamic boardingschools (case study: Pondok Pesantren al-Rifaie 2 Gondanglegi,Islamic Boarding School Miftahul Ulum Putri Ganjaran, and IslamicBoarding Schools of the People of al-Amin Malang). background of theproblem that has been explained above, then the problem formulationcan be taken, namely: 1. How is the leadership of the Kiai indeveloping the education curriculum at Pondok Pesantren al-Rifaie 2Gondanglegi Malang? 2. How is Kiai's leadership in developing theeducation curriculum at Miftahul Ulum Islamic Boarding School inGanjaran Gondanglegi Malang? 3. How is Kiai's leadership indeveloping an educational curriculum at Pondok Pesantren Rakyat alAmin Malang? In order to obtain truly valid data in this study, theresearcher needs to determine the appropriate data collectiontechniques. Therefore, researchers use the following techniques: 1.Interview techniques, 2. Observation techniques, 3. Documentationtechniques. From the results of research conducted by researchers todescribe the leadership of Kiai in developing an educationalcurriculum in Islamic boarding schools (case study: Pondok Pesantren al-Rifaie 2 Gondanglegi, Islamic Boarding School Miftahul Ulum PutriGanjaran, and Islamic Boarding Schools of al-Amin Malang), it can beconcluded the results of the data namely three Kiai in developingeducational curricula in their respective Islamic boarding schools, bysubmitting to heads of fields or units in developing educationalcurricula, and using responsive leadership models

Introduction/Main Objectives: This research examined the synergy of transformational and servant leadership character, which was suitable for Islamic boarding schools' perspective as an Islamic typology. Background Problems: The study of transformational and servant leadership has only focused on the business sector from a western perspective, which tends to be productivity-oriented. Meanwhile, the spirit of the two leadership characters is on morals and human, which have never been reviewed in empirical studies, especially in the perspective of Islam and in the context of Islamic boarding schools. Novelty: The synergy of transformational and servant leadership formed a new model which was inclusive perspective leadership of Islamic boarding school. Research Methods: This research used single case study approach with an exploratory descriptive design. Data collection was done by in-depth interviews with several informants who were selected purposively and through snowball sampling. The data were analyzed by using interactive models. Finding/Results: The results showed that the conformity of transformational and servant leadership could be implemented in the leadership in Islamic boarding schools. The leader of the Islamic boarding school can be a transformational leader as well as a serving leader. Islamic boarding school as an organization has a mission of change in the context of transformational leadership with modes of serving in the context of servant leadership. The synergy of these characters could potentially be an inclusive leadership model. Conclusion: The two models of leadership must be used simultaneously in leadership in Islamic boarding schools. The resulting combination will manifest the message of the mercy of Islamic leadership.

This study aims to describe the implementation of Law Number 18 of 2019 concerning Islamic Boarding Schools on the management of pesantren in Kebumen Regency in 2020-2021; describe the problems of education management, availability of infrastructure and financing in Islamic boarding schools; and describe strategies for solving problems of education management, availability of infrastructure and financing in Islamic boarding schools in terms of Law Number 18 of 2019 in Kebumen Regency in 2020-2021. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The place of research is Islamic boarding school in Kebumen district, Central Java province. The sample criteria in this study was to use purposive sampling. The sample taken in this study was from 2 salafiyah Islamic boarding schools consisting of one advanced salafiyah cottage and one undeveloped salafiyah cottage. The participants of this research are the leaders of Islamic boarding schools. Informants in this study were students, ustadz/ustadzah, managers, and guardians of students. Data collection techniques in this study using documents, in-depth interviews, and observation. The method used to check the validity of the data is the credibility test (triangulation, discussion with colleagues, and member check), transferability test, dependability test, and confirmability test. The data analysis technique used in this research is through the field process. The stages in analyzing the data in this study are analysis before in the field, analysis while in the field (data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions). The results showed that: 1). implementation of Law Number 18 of 2019 concerning Islamic boarding schools for the management of Islamic boarding schools in Kebumen Regency in 2020-2021 has been carried out well, especially in advanced Salafiah Islamic Boarding Schools; 2). problems of education management, availability of infrastructure and financing in Islamic boarding schools in terms of Law Number 18 of 2019 in Kebumen Regency in 2020-2021 for salafiah Islamic boarding schools that have developed almost none, but salafiah Islamic boarding schools that have not advanced in all three aspects experiencing problems; 3). problem solving strategies, especially for salafiah Islamic boarding schools that have not developed yet, by conducting comparative studies to Islamic boarding schools that have good governance, recruiting human resources who understand information systems and technology, submitting infrastructure budgets to related parties, collaborating with Lazis and Baznas in particular. related to the completion of education financing in Islamic boarding schools, as well as developing a network of general donors and networks through alumni.

This article aims to explore about rahat as an effort to protect property in Pasaman, West Sumatera, Indonesia. Stealing was a criminal act which threatened the perpetrator with severe punishment, imprisonment in Indonesia or hand-amputation in Islamic law. The punishment was not only to deter and punish the perpetrator but also to educate society not to make the same mistake. However, when the national and religious laws did not function efficiently, the people in Pasaman, West Sumatera, Indonesia protected their properties with rahat, the magical fence consisting of tayyibah (noble words) which prepared by the leader of Islamic traditional boarding school (pesantren). When a thief broke the fence, he may forget his initial intention to steal, feel being locked, or even sickened in to an unrecoverable illness. Rahat and its effects were announced in public, delivered mouth to mouth, and obeyed by the community. As the result, the people were prevented from taking other people’s possessions; the treasures of society were also well preserved. The type of the study was field research with a qualitative approach. The data was gathered by observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation study. The analysis was done descriptively by data reduction, display, and verification (drawing conclusion).<br /><br />

Modern Islamic boarding schools are a combination of Islamic boarding school curriculum with the national education curriculum. Therefore though the format is a boarding school, boarding education, students also acquire knowledge and graduation standards as students who attend public schools. The Entrepreneur Muhammadiyah Islamic Boarding School (PPEM) is a charity business unit managed by the Muhammadiyah Branch Leader (PCM) Gondanglegi, Malang Regency. The land used by the lodge is certified charity land. Along with the construction of housing on the side of cottage land, land boundaries have become a new problem between the border of cottage and housing developers. There is a difference in stake and land boundary, claimed by the housing developer next to the cottage. The target and output of this service program are that PPEM administrators can make an inventory of land through physical mapping. The product of this activity is the result of land mapping, which is applied directly in the form of a topographical mockup of the Islamic boarding school land that follows the mapping results and strengthens the land certificate.ABSTRAKSistem pondok pesantren yang modern adalah perpaduan antara kurikulum pendidikan nasional dengan kurikulum pesantren, sehingga walaupun bentuknya adalah sebuah pondok pesantren, santri juga memperoleh ilmu dan standar kelulusan seperti pelajar sekolah pada sekolah umum. Pondok Pesantren Entrepreneur Muhammadiyah (PPEM) adalah salah satu unit amal usaha di bawah pengelolaan Pimpinan Cabang Muhammadiyah (PCM) Gondanglegi, Kabupaten Malang. Lahan yang digunakan oleh pondok merupakan lahan wakaf bersertifikat. Seiring dengan pembangunan perumahan di sisi lahan pondok, batas lahan menjadi satu masalah baru, antara pengurus pondok, dengan pihak pengembang perumahan. Terdapat selisih patok dan batas lahan, yang diklaim oleh pengembang perumahan di sebelah pondok. Target dan luaran dari program pengabdian ini yaitu pengurus PPEM dapat menginventarisir lahan melalui pemetaan fisik. Produk kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini berupa hasil pemetaan lahan yang teraplikasikan langsung dalam bentuk maket topografi lahan pondok yang telah sesuai dengan hasil pemetaan dan memperkuat sertifikat pondok.

Management of Waqf by individual collectors dominates Waqf management in Indonesia. However, since Waqf laws stated that The individual and an institution could manage Waqf, the opportunity to develop Waqf is more open for Waqf institutions. One of the established Waqf institutions is the Daarut Tauhiid Waqf institution. This study aims to identify and analyze existing strategies and generate development strategies for Islamic Boarding School-based Waqf. The research method used was descriptive qualitative by using Business Model Canvas (BMC), Strength Weakness Opportunity Threat (SWOT), and Analytical Network Process (ANP) approaches. The researchers conducted this study in Daarut Tauhiid Islamic Boarding School Bandung from November 2020 to March 2021. The respondents were practitioners, namely the director and staff of Daarut Tauhiid Waqf institution, regulators from the Ministry of Religion, and academics from universities in Bogor and Jakarta. Data were collected from in-depth interviews and questionnaires from respondents. The most important development strategy to be implemented in the Daarut Tauhiid Waqf institution is the development of human resources competency. Therefore, competent human resources can establish a trusted, professional, and trustworthy team managing Waqf-based Islamic boarding schools.
