The river has a substantial contribution in our life. But in reality the quality of rivers in Indonesia is in a heavily polluted condition. Various river structuring efforts have been carried out such as maintaining cleanliness, managing the smooth running of water, and educating people not to throw garbage into the river. This article aims to identify potential and determine the design in developing the Badung River basin to support the development of cultural tourism in Denpasar City. The technique of collecting data uses non-participant observation, document study, and in-depth interviews. This article concludes that Sungai Badung has a variety of tourism potential that can be developed as a new tourist attraction. The concept of development by designing eco-culinary tourism parks combines the concepts of ‘eco-tourism’ and ‘culinary tourism’ in an effort to create sustainable tourism without damaging the river ecosystem.

Title: The Religious Architecture of Tiwah Feast among Dayak Ngaju as Cultural Tourism Attractions in Central Kalimantan The belief to a transcendent space among Dayak Ngaju people, especially for Kaharingan believers in Central Kalimantan, leads to the Tiwah Feast, a secondary funeral ceremony to transmit the soul of the dead to a celestial realm called The Lewu Tatau. The Tiwah Feast manifests in many meaningfulness of sacred symbols. There are certain rules in the implementation, particularly on the physical symbols and its religious architectures. This article emphasize the uniqueness of the symbols on the religious architecture of Tiwah Feast, which has the potential to become tourist attraction in the development of cultural tourism products. Using qualitative methods, data obtained through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, in two different locations, in Tumbang Koling and Ramang Village. Sacred symbols on its religious architecture include Sapundu and Sandong. A sapundu manifests in the form of a human or animal figure, regarding to the personification of the ancestral spirit. It shows the way for the soul towards Lewu Tatau. Meanwhile, Sandong is a secondary burial coffin to put the ancestral bones. The construction and architecture should concern on foundation, size, height, carvings, and ornaments. This local wisdom is potential to be developed as a cultural tourism attraction. However, the sacredness of the Tiwah Feast must be maintained and preserved from cultural commercialization and commodification issues.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is identifying and mapping to select pre-existing potential and the management of tourist attraction which have been developed both from attraction and supporting facility on all tourist attraction in Denpasar city. Research methods: This research used qualitative method with technique of participant observation collecting data, comprehensive interviews and documentation. Results and discussions: The results of this research are recommendation of tourist destinations equally considered for development using Integrated Model of the destination competitiveness model created by Dwyer and Kim (2003). The final results of development strategies are based on the analysis of SWOT. Conclusion: In order to be able to focus on the competitiveness of a destination, a macro business perspective is required for the entire tourism industry, meaning that all stakeholders should work with each other by focusing on the common benefits of destination rather than on opportunistic objectives

The development of rural tourism requires the participation of local communities in the entire development phase starting from the planning, implementation and supervision stages. However, in reality there is Often neglect of community participation. This study aims to examine the strategy of developing Taro Rural Tourism and the involvement of local communities in development. The research in this paper was conducted in the tourist village of Taro, Gianyar Regency, Bali. Data collection is done by literature study, in-depth interviews and non-participant observation. The analytical method used is descriptive analysis. This paper shows that the development of tourist villages in Taro can still be developed considering that Taro still has tourism potential that is very possible to be developed.

Denpasar city has a variety of tourist potential, namely the potential of cultural tourism such as historical buildings, art attractions, a traditional market with a wide variety of traditional dishes as well as community activities related to culture. Given these potentials can be developed into a tourist city tour packages in Denpasar. In connection with the travel package packing city tour, then the formulation of issues to be discussed are (1) What is the potential of the city of Denpasar as a cultural tourist attraction ?, (2) How packaging travel packages culture-based city tour in Denpasar? This study aims to determine the potential of the city of Denpasar as cultural charms, knowing the way of packaging travel packages culture-based city tour in the city of Denpasar. Data collection techniques in this study was done by observation, interview, and literature study. The results of this study indicate that the city of Denpasar has tourism potential which comprise the majority of the potential of cultural tourism, the potential that made travel packages in this study is the charm of the castle and temple, traditional market and museum in the city of Denpasar The potential is then packaged in three forms, namely, in narrative form, tabular and graphical form four- travel packages including: Melali ke Puri, Heritage Denpasar City Tour, Beautiful Cultural of Denpasar City Tour, Historic Denpasar City Tour.

This research aims to determine the potential of tourism based on supporting and inhibiting factors of rural tourism development in Desa Kemetul and analyzing the strategy of community-based tourism in Desa Kemetul. The research was conducted in Desa Kemetul Kecamatan Susukan Kabupaten Semarang. This study uses qualitative method which the data obtained through depth interviews with Kepala Desa Kemetul, Chairman of POKDARWIS Sekar Kanthil, Local Communities, and Dinas Pariwisata Kabupaten Semarang, and then the data were analyzed using SWOT analysis. The study concluded that Desa Kemetul has a lot of tourism potential to become tourist attraction. Desa Kemetul needs to consider strengthening flagship product, the strategy of sustainable development of a tourist attraction, and strategies for institutional development and human resources.

This study aims to determine the development of the Napangga Lake tourist attraction in Kepenghuluan Tanjung Medan, Rokan Hilir Regency, which greatly contributes to village-owned enterprises in empowering the community’s economy. Lake Napangga is a new destination located in the Rokan Hilir area and has very promising tourism potential, so it must be managed professionally and have an economic impact on the local community. Therefore, village-owned enterprises must be able to become a spirit in developing this lake tourism object in order to empower the economy of the village community. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, where data collection is done by observation and interviews. After the data and information are obtained, it will be analyzed in depth with data triangulation validity test. The results of this study found that the development of the Lake Napangga tourist attraction has not run optimally by the Bumdes in empowering the community’s economy. This is due to the inconsistency in the number of tourists visiting Lake Napangga, because this tour is still seasonal. Strategies are needed to make economic empowerment for the community in order to increase income and improve the quality of life of the surrounding community.


The diversity of Balinese culinary possesses great potential as a supporting element in developing culinary tourism in Bali. Culinary-based tourism is an alternative for tourists besides other tourism choices, such as cultural tourism, nature tourism, and marine tourism which have been known by all visitors coming to Bali. One of the Balinese culinary specialties is Ayam Be Keren which is originated from Bangli Regency. The purpose of this research is to find out the attempts to develop the Balinese culinary specialty, Ayam Be Keren and also to find out the obstacles faced in the development process. The method of data analysis used is descriptive qualitative analysis using several informants that selected purposively. Data collection techniques were carried out by doing observation, in-depth interviews and documentation by using developed theories, such as the theory of product development and gastronomic theory. The results showed that the traditional dish from Bangli, Ayam Be Keren is needed to develop to be a tourist attraction. The attempts that can be done are preparing well trained human resources to fulfill the production capacity existing nowadays. The sufficient human resources will be able to increase production leading to the development of facilities which then will be followed by the development of more professional management. Culinary has become its attraction that captivates the hearts of tourists. This is realized by the Bukittinggi City Government which will develop its tourist attraction through the culinary tourism potential of Nasi Kapau. Culinary Tourism started from additional facilities in the distribution of tourist activities but now the position of Nasi Kapau has turned into a tourist attraction that can be side by side with other attractions. To find out the position of Nasi Kapau to be used as a tourist promotion tool of Bukittinggi City, it needs to be started with an analysis of strengths, opportunities, weaknesses, and threats internally and externally, research seeks information by interviews by all Nasi swords that sell in bukittinggi slope market and spread angket to tourists who eat Nasi Kapau in bukittinggi slope market. The data obtained is analyzed descriptively about the marketing mix and the next data from the questionnaire is given weight and entered in the SWOT matrix so that it can answer the appropriate strategy for the promotion of Bukittinggi City through Nasi Kapau culinary tour. The results obtained are strategies that are suitable for the promotion of the city of Bukittinggi through Nasi Kapau Culinary tour is an aggressive strategy. Continuous promotion can also be done by mouth-to-mouth method or make Nasi Kapau as a talking point so as to attract other tourists to visit Bukittinggi out of curiosity about the taste of Nasi Kapau. In addition, Nasi Kapau costomers has been classified as a royal costomers so that it can dream up its review with pleasure.

This study aims to find out how the concerned parties understand and interpret such phenomenon. In order to explore the understanding of related parties, phenomenology is used as a methodology, with interpretive paradigm as a study umbrella. The focus of the study taking place at the Regional Secretariat of Gianyar regency of three informants who deal directly with the Regional Accounts Payable process. Qualitative data were collected by conducting in-depth interviews and participant observation. The findings indicate that the leadership has an important role in the process of local cash outlay. The key problem faced is the quality of leadership that ultimately affeects the non-optimal financial planning, competence apparatus and bureaucratic. This study advises that it is required some efforts such as: arranging financial management training, regular meetings to evaluate the performance and implementing shorten bureaucracy policy.

The management is one of the supporting activities in tourism. Management is the key of how an expanded appeal or not. Labuan Sait Beach has the potential of nature in the form of a white-sand beach and good waves for surfing. The assumption behind this is based on the dipilhnya coast of Labuan Sait as a research topic in order to find out the components of a tourist attraction and how it managed.      The research methodology used in this study is a qualitative research, with observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and research studies as well as using the concept of tourist attraction,  tourism potentital and management.      The results of this research shows that the tourist attraction of the Labuan Sait Beach  was established as a new tourist attraction on March 1, 2016 and the enforcement of admission for tourists. Attraction of the Labuan Sait Beach is managed by the Pecatu Village goverment and Uluwatu attraction management.  Keywords: management, tourism potential, tourist attraction, Labuan Sait Beach
