The article considers the text as the main tool in the process of learning the Ukrainian language for foreign students. The text helps not only in learning the foreign language, but also in learning the mentality and the formation of intercultural competence. That is why the initial postulate of the theory of linguistics in Ukraine is the focus on the study of Ukrainian culture in the process of learning the language through various media and sources of national and cultural information, for example, through the text. For this purpose, texts and tasks for them have been developed, which will later be included in the educational and methodological development intended for foreigners studying the Ukrainian language. The article presents a classification of tasks that accompany the texts by stages of their implementation and examples of such tasks for the rapid study of Ukrainian as a foreign language. The main task of a teacher of Ukrainian as a foreign language is to make the most of the material of the textbook for the development of grammar and language skills and abilities of students, because they need to encourage them to express themselves and prepare for natural communication. The purpose of training always determines the choice of methods. For foreigners studying the Ukrainian language, the motivation is mainly constructive communication with Ukrainian-speakers, official correspondence in the Ukrainian language, i.e. professional activity. And in this aspect, the creative approach to working with the text is an effective solution to educational problems, which is based on the analysis of the relationship between language and speech, speech and thinking, thinking and communication. Therefore, the article presents a practical part of working with the text to learn the Ukrainian language. The textbook for learning Ukrainian as a foreign language is not only a means of teaching foreign students to read in Ukrainian, but also a great opportunity to form and develop their speaking, listening and writing skills, so in the arsenal of every teacher of Ukrainian as a foreign language should be different texts which correspond to the cultural theme as well as the interests and abilities of students.

The interpretation of the concept of idiomatization and the related concept of phraseologization was performed by analyzing the process of metaphorical reinterpretation of the collocation (a phraseological unit with partial reinterpretation) resulting in the formation of an idiom (a phraseological unit with a high degree of reinterpretation). In this paper, idiomatization is regarded as the process of reinterpretation of a collocation. The interpretation of the concepts of idiomatization and phraseologization was clarified. The object of research is German idioms, which emerged from collocations that have undergone a semantic shift. Common collocations do not always undergo the reinterpretation process. Therefore, there is no direct dependence between their idiomatization and usage frequency. In addition, language unobservability does not always provide an accurate image of the diachronic changes that a particular collocation is subject to. In this regard, the question was raised about the relationship between the concepts of development and reproducibility (frequency) of a collocation. The high relevance of the research is due to the need to understand idiomatization in the light of both corpus linguistics and language philosophy. The purpose of the study is to define the role played by the development of a collocation in the process of idiomatization. To solve this problem, a diachronistic approach was used during the research. The accumulation of reproducibility changes over the collocation history was interpreted as development. The process of collocation idiomatization was considered as a qualitative-quantitative transition: the degree of development of the collocation (the result of quantitative changes) can become the basis for its transition to an idiom (qualitative change). The paper is intended for specialists in the field of diachronic phraseology of the German language, general linguistics, corpus linguistics, and philosophy of language.

This article examines the problem of teaching foreign language vocabulary in bilingual conditions. The importance of this article is due to the fact that the emphasis is placed on the study of qualitative characteristics of foreign language vocabulary in the conditions of chechen-russian bilingualism, which can affect communication in the study of native, russian and foreign languages. In the process of teaching foreign language vocabulary in the conditions of chechen-russian bilingualism, it is accompanied by additional difficulties, which are manifested due to the interaction of different lexical systems of the contacting languages. It should be noted that the difficulties of mastering the spelling features of lexical units are due to the peculiarities of german spelling, which is characterized by numerous rules for combining letters when writing and exceptions. The result of the research is the conclusion that the proposed classification of the development of lexical units of the german language, as practice shows, is an effective means for bilingual students to overcome difficulties in the process of forming a foreign language lexical competence.

This article deals with the application of corpus research methods in metaphorology. The authors evaluate the perspectives of corpus instruments in the context of cognitive linguistics and pedagogy. The authorы present the development of an algorithm for complex analysis of metaphor, including the stages of identification, interpretation and translation of metaphorical statements, as well as identifying their connection with the conceptual bases of thinking. The results of comparative analysis of the implementation of paternity metaphor in the Ancient Greek original and translations into English and Russian of John’s Corpus are presented. The authors have shown that the key words identified by the corpus analysis are representatives of conceptual metaphors determining the author's word usage. A classification of translation models by the criterion of preserving the word — concept connection is proposed. The prospects for adapting the algorithm for studying foreign language and special pedagogy are described separately.

This study aims at analyzing the tendency and change in the research on construction grammar from 2010 to 2020. Descriptively, this study includes the publication year, research topic, research direction, research content, and the research methods. Twenty-four CSSCI journals were selected as the research samples using the keyword – “Construction Grammar.” The research topics mainly include Chinese construction research, foreign language construction research, and comparative studies on Chinese and other language constructions. The results showed that there are many Chinese construction research, but the other two research topics still require improvement. Ontology research was the main focus; acquisition research and teaching research are worthy for further exploration. Case studies and theoretical studies were the most concerned contents, whereas studies on language acquisition, pedagogy, and corpus construction were feeble. Qualitative description and theoretical review were the most popular methods, while empirical, quantitative, and diachronic analyses were less frequently used. After analyzing the trends, it has been predicted that the research on construction grammar would continue to heat up in the future, and there would be more research directions and contents along with diversified research methods.

Nowadays, individual features of functional brain asymmetry are rarely taken into account in teaching a foreign language. The purpose of this article is to theoretically prove the need to consider these features in teaching Spanish grammar. The article reviews the main theoretical framework of the functional brain asymmetry and its relation to teaching a foreign language, types of perception, and special aspects of teaching Spanish grammar to Russian-speaking students. Research methods include analysis of scientific literature and classification of obtained data. As a result, this study provides evidence for the due account of individual brain asymmetry and suggests classification of exercises for left-dominant and right-dominant students.

In this article, fostering the German language using digital learning games plays the central role. The endless possibilities of digital media and tools for language acquisition offer teachers and learners the opportunity to learn a foreign language creatively, playfully, in a fascinating way and with a certain degree of facilitation in teaching. Through our research we tried to prove the priority of digital media in the field of education and formation. We selected as the target group of the research the pupils of two fifth grades, who learn German as a foreign language in a Romanian school. The use of the chosen learning game led to a considerable increase in the participation of the students in German lessons, created a suitable learning atmosphere in the room and increased the motivation of the participants. The results of this research prove what we expected for the relationship between German lessons and the use of digital learning games in the classroom.

The article is dedicated to the study of semantics and functioning of compound nouns with a somatic component (CNSC) in the German language, in particular, the CNSC in German political discourse within the period from 2016 to 2020. Main semantic and functional features of CNSC are being determined. The article is focused on the role of CNSC in creating a pragmatic effect of publications within the political topics, looks into a powerful manipulative influence on the reader during the formation of a positive image of the politician or his deliberate discrediting, including the possibility of using individual compound nouns with a somatic component in order to ridiculize and undermine his image. The study explores metaphorical and metonymic transfers, on the basis of which the semantics of such compound nous with a somatic component in German political discourse is developing. The investigation presents the classification of a compound nouns with a somatic component into thematic subgroups within the thematic block “Politics”, the relationship of these groups in German-language mass media texts with political items, the semantic evolution of such compound nouns with a somatic component. Compound nouns with a somatic component with positive, negative, and ambivalent connotations which are actualized within the German political discourse, are also being explored. The studied lexical units belong to the dynamic and innovative part of the German lexicon, they represent the creativity of speakers, as well as their aspiration for their speech individualization and its emotional richness.

The article raises the problem of classification of the concepts of computer science and informatics studied at secondary school. The efficiency of creation of techniques of training of pupils in these concepts depends on its solution. The author proposes to consider classifications of the concepts of school informatics from four positions: on the cross-subject basis, the content lines of the educational subject "Informatics", the logical and structural interrelations and interactions of the studied concepts, the etymology of foreign-language and translated words in the definition of the concepts of informatics. As a result of the first classification general and special concepts are allocated; the second classification — inter-content and intra-content concepts; the third classification — stable (steady), expanding, key and auxiliary concepts; the fourth classification — concepts-nouns, conceptsverbs, concepts-adjectives and concepts — combinations of parts of speech.

Soil fertility determines a plant's development process that guarantees food sufficiency and the security of lives and properties through bumper harvests. The fertility of soil varies according to regions, thereby determining the type of crops to be planted. However, there is no repository or any source of information about the fertility of the soil in any region in Nigeria especially the Northwest of the country. The only available information is soil samples with their attributes which gives little or no information to the average farmer. This has affected crop yield in all the regions, more particularly the Northwest region, thus resulting in lower food production.  Therefore, this study is aimed at classifying soil data based on their fertility in the Northwest region of Nigeria using R programming. Data were obtained from the department of soil science from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. The data contain 400 soil samples containing 13 attributes. The relationship between soil attributes was observed based on the data. K-means clustering algorithm was employed in analyzing soil fertility clusters. Four clusters were identified with cluster 1 having the highest fertility, followed by 2 and the fertility decreases with an increasing number of clusters. The identification of the most fertile clusters will guide farmers on where best to concentrate on when planting their crops in order to improve productivity and crop yield.
