Character building is the most important thing to do as it is a striving system which underly behavior (Freud). Even more, good character is more to be praised than outstanding talent. Most talents are to some extent a gift. Good character, however, is not given to us. we have to build it peace by peace by thought, choice, courage, and determination. So important it is that it is said that if there is no more character every thing is lost (Mahatma Gandhi). The best way to build it is to develop the function of all individual potential, including cognitive, affective, and psychomotoric aspects simultanously in the context of socio-cultural interaction (in family, in school, and in society). Character is gained by nature and nurture. It can be done begin from the golden age to the old one through the three character building components: moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action as suggested by Lickona. They make it possible since human beings, as the best-formed creature of all, are the ones and the only creature posessing culture, and that, they can educate and be educated in terms of the model of person of character. Everybody must have character. Therefore, to apply Lickona’s, one must empower her/his language, in which she/he/ perform her/his competence in using language creativity (Chomsky) in both ordinary and literary language. In this case, Buginese language is used as the sample.

A river flows serenely accepting all the miseries and happiness that it comes across its journey. A tree releases oxygen for human beings despite its inner plights. The sun is never tired of its duty and gives sunlight without any interruption. Why are all these elements of nature so tuned to? Education is knowledge. Knowledge comes from learning. Learning happens through experience. Familiarity is the master of life that shapes the individual. Every individual learns from nature. Nature teaches how to sustain, withdraw and advocate the prevailing situations. Some dwell into the deep realities of nature and nurture as ideal human beings. Life is a puzzle. How to solve it is a million dollar question that can never be answered so easily. The perception of life changes from individual to individual making them either physically powerful or feeble. Society is not made of only individuals. Along with individuals it has nature, emotions, spiritual powers and superstitious beliefs which bind them. Among them the most crucial and alarming is the emotions which are interrelated to others. Alone the emotional intelligence is going to guide the life of an individual. For everyone there is an inner self which makes them conscious of their deeds. The guiding force should always force the individual to choose the right path. Writers are the powerful people who have rightly guided the society through their ingenious pen outs. The present article is going to focus on how the major elements bound together are dominating the individual’s self through Rabindranath Tagore’s Home and the World (1916)

Character is very important in an effort to reflect cultural values that are applied through a culture of positive habits in everyday life such as honesty, trust, tolerance and caring for fellow human beings in the community. The value of local wisdom is not a barrier to progress in the global era, but still maintains cultural values that have been embedded in the surrounding community. Therefore, fostering the values of local wisdom is a strategic step in the effort to build the character of the nation. This article proposes to discuss the cultivation of cultural values through a tolerance attitude based on local wisdom in the surrounding environment as a community character reinforcement being appropriate to the cultural values which are inspired by the film titled Tanda Tanya “?”. The film describes the life that has been acculturated, then shows the assimilation and pluralism that exist in the lives of people in Indonesia. This film has educational purpose containing knowledge and learning that occur around the lives of diverse cultural communities.

Technology is responsible for major systemic changes within the global financial sector. This sector has already developed into a comprehensive network of mutually connected people and computers. Algorithms play a crucial role within this network. An algorithm is in essence merely a set of instructions developed by one or more people with the intention of having these instructions performed by a machine such as a computer in order to realize an ideal result. As part of a development in which we as human beings have ever higher expectations of algorithms and these algorithms become more autonomous in their actions, we cannot avoid including possibilities in these algorithms that enable ethical or moral considerations. To develop this ethical or moral consideration, we need a kind of ethical framework that can be used for constructing these algorithms. With the development of such a framework we can start to think about what we as human beings consider to be a moral action executed by algorithms that support actions and decisions of interconnected and self-organizing machines. This chapter explores an ethical framework for interconnected and self-organizing moral machines.

Human beings began hunting each other after dispatching the competition – the megafauna that once roamed the planet. From prey we became the Alpha predator. War has its origins in hunting, and the other criteria which distinguishes as a species – the use of language, the capacity for sacrifice and altruism; the use of tools and the ability to bind socially with small communities from clans to tribes which also encourages us of course to separate insiders from outsiders. It owes much to the very human interplay of nature and nurture, and the way in which humans ha e gendered war from the very beginning. Above all, we are still lumbered with the brains of our Stone Age ancestors which is why evolutionary psychologists argue that we are so maladapted to the world in which we live

AbstractKant's comments `against Garve' constitute his reaction to the latter's remarks on Cicero's De Officiis . Two related criticisms of Kant's against Garve are discussed in brief in this paper. A closer look is then taken at Garve's claim that `Kantian morality destroys all incentives that can move human beings to act at all'. I argue that Kant and Garve rely on two different models of human action for their analyses of moral motivation; these models differ in what each takes to be salient for the explanation of human action. I show that Samuel Clarke's analogy of physical explanation in the framework of Newtonianism (in his Discourse concerning the Unchangeable Obligations of Natural Religion ) usefully illuminates the difference between Kant and Garve in these respects.
