Abstract This research based on the result of preliminary observation at MTs Nurul Huda Beringin. Documentation of supervision by headmaster who has been held in the school, data showed that the learning mathematics with scientific approach applied by teachers are still not optimal. Based on documenttion of learning outcome students the data that there are 40% of students not reached the minimum competence criteria. Humans have nine types of intelegence, seven of the nine types of intelegence are: verbal/linguistic intelegence, visual/spatial, logical/mathematical, musical, bodily/kinesthetic, interpersonal and intrapersonal. This research is a classroom action research with qualitative descriptive approach implemented in class VII MTs Nurul Hudda Beringin, Cirebon, on the material relations and function. Based on the analysis we concluded that the study of mathematics involving multiple intelegences with scientific approach by the steps: 1) preliminary activities; 2) the core activities consist of observasing, ask, gather information, associates and communicate; and 3) the cover. While multiple intelegences involved in learning is verbal/linguistic intelegence, visual/spatial intelegence, logical/mathematical intelegence, musical intelegence, the intelegence of the body/kinesthetic, interpersonal and intrapersonal intelegence. In the first cycle, the average result of observation activities of students and teachers was 70% and 76%  in the unfavorable and fairly category. In the second cycle, the average results of observation activities of students and teacher was 82% and 83%, both  in good categories. In the first cycle, the achievment of students VIII-A is a total of 18 students or 46% students take the final value more than 75. In the second cycle, the achievment of student VIII-A is of the total of 31 students or 80% students obtain the final score more than 75. So the achievment learning was increasing 34% from the first cycle to the second cycle.

All teachers at MI Ma'arif Sambiroto have attended several trainings in designing lesson plans in accordance with the 2013 curriculum. However, the school has never conducted an analysis of the appropriateness of the learning steps on the teacher's lesson plans with a scientific approach. This research aims to describe the results of analysis of the appropiateness of the learning steps with the scientific approach and the appropiateness of the lesson plan’s components according to the 2013 Curriculum. This research is a qualitative descriptive study that applies an interactive model. This research was conducted at MI Ma'arif Sambiroto, Taman, Sidoarjo. The subject in this research is the fourth grade teacher at MI Ma'arif Sambiroto and the main data is teacher’s lesson plans. The data collection technique used by researcher is the documentation technique. The research instrument that used by the researcher is checklist sheet of the learning steps on lesson plan with scientific approach. The data analysis process starts from reviewing all the data from the documentation. Next, it is followed by the stage of reducing the data and presenting the result in brief descriptions. Last, is verifying the data to draw a conclusion. The result shows that the fourth grade teacher at MI Maarif Sambiroto has compiled the lesson plan components according to the 2013 curriculum but in first learning process to the fourth learning process, the teacher has not included a scientific approach in the learning steps of the lesson plan. But in the sixth learning process the teacher has not included scientific reasoning skills.

The 2013 Curriculum emphasizes on active learning pattern. However, based on the questionnaire spread in junior high school 18 Padang, it was gotten the result that teachers still have difficulty in implementing it, especially in affective competence of confidence. The affective competence of confidence will encourage students to be active in learning process, both in asking questions and expressing opinion. In cooperative learning, students are provided a vehicle to increase their confidence through presenting their discussion result in front of the class. By considering this issue, there is an alternative solution that can be used by teacher, which is example non example method. This method is one of cooperative learning method. Besides that, it can support the implementation of scientific approach and discovery learning model in learning process. The scientific approach and discovery learning model are the approach and model recommended in the 2013 Curriculum. Purpose of the research was to know effect of example non example method in scientific approach and discovery learning model on students' affective competence. It was a quasi-experimental research. It was done in junior high school 18 Padang to grade VII students. The instrument used was written test in form of multiple-choice and essay. Technique of data analysis used Mann Whitney U test. It was done by using SPSS software. The finding shows that example non example method in scientific approach and discovery learning model has significant effect on students' affective competence, with sig. value (0.036) < 0.05.
