The goal of the thesis is to highlight the main uses and impacts of artificial intelligence to consumers’ life in high-tech cities such as Singapore. The different ways to exploit artificial intelligence in consumers daily life is explored and the overall impact to society as a whole. Current technology development is substantially rapid which affects various aspects of societies. The article considers advantages and disadvantages of the artificial intelligence to consumers, especially the ethical consideration of artificialintelligence which is becoming increasingly powerful issue. However, artificial intelligence’s development has started with momentum that is challenging to halt, thus, the question is whether we are able to maintain superior control over artificial intelligence. The importance of in-depth understanding of high-tech societies such as Singapore under the impact of artificial intelligence. This type of exploration can suggest various different changes in close future, for instance, concerning economy, transportation, healthcare and communication. Globally, these are issues that are intensely linked to the people’s daily lives affecting substantially to societies, for instance, economical algorithms are carried out already by the artificial intelligence which creates opportunities and threats. Artificial intelligence’s opportunities and threats are still under control, but great number of scholars have been arguing the moment the artificial intelligence is able to begin thinking about its strengths and weaknesses itself. Also, multiple societies and countries have been considering heavily investing into artificial intelligence which can provide substantial advantages to different aspects of society. In addition, greater and growing dependency on artificial intelligence will create vacuum of real human power in societies. Nevertheless, artificial intelligence carries disadvantages for societies too which needs to be scrutinized.

The value of play has mainly stayed consistent throughout time. Playing is, without a doubt, one of the essential things we can do. Playing in addition to supporting motor, neurological, and social development improves adaptation by encouraging people to explore diverse perspectives on the world and assisting them in developing methods for dealing with problems in a safe setting. The way we play and what we play with have been heavily affected by the quickly evolving technology shaping our daily lives. Artificial intelligence (A.I.) is now found in many products, including vehicles, phones, and vacuum cleaners. This extends to children's items, with the creation of an "Internet of Toys." Many learning, remote control, and app-integrated toys include innovative playthings that employ speech recognition and machine learning to communicate with users. This study examines the impact of technology adoption on the success and failure of two toys industry – Hasbro, Inc and Toys R Us, Inc. The research methodology of this study is based on case studies where the comparison of the two industries was made from a few areas. The finding of the study determines that corporations that evolved consistently with the change of technology will continue to grow in the market. In contrast, the corporation that failed to adopt digital transformation will be a force out of the market.

Abstract Background At the moment we have more than 177 million cases and 3.8 million deaths (as of June 2021) around the world and vaccination represents the only hope to control the pandemic. Imperfections in planning vaccine acquisition and difficulties in implementing distribution among the population, however, have hampered the control of the virus so far. Methods We propose a new mathematical model to estimate the impact of vaccination delay against the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on the number of cases and deaths due to the disease in Brazil. We apply the model to Brazil as a whole and to the State of Sao Paulo, the most affected by COVID-19 in Brazil. We simulated the model for the populations of the State of Sao Paulo and Brazil as a whole, varying the scenarios related to vaccine efficacy and compliance from the populations. Results The model projects that, in the absence of vaccination, almost 170 thousand deaths and more than 350 thousand deaths will occur by the end of 2021 for Sao Paulo and Brazil, respectively. If in contrast, Sao Paulo and Brazil had enough vaccine supply and so started a vaccination campaign in January with the maximum vaccination rate, compliance and efficacy, they could have averted more than 112 thousand deaths and 127 thousand deaths, respectively. In addition, for each month of delay the number of deaths increases monotonically in a logarithmic fashion, for both the State of Sao Paulo and Brazil as a whole. Conclusions Our model shows that the current delay in the vaccination schedules that is observed in many countries has serious consequences in terms of mortality by the disease and should serve as an alert to health authorities to speed the process up such that the highest number of people to be immunized is reached in the shortest period of time.

Scientists and clinicians must become familiar with the factors that affect the emotional, physical, and spiritual health of their patients that are outside the ken of the traditionally dominant value systems. Although many researchers have addressed the cultural and ethnical factors, very few have considered the impact of religion. Islam, as the largest and fastestgrowing religion in the world, has adherents throughout the world, presents a complete moral, ethical, and medical framework, while it sometimes concurs conflicts with the conventional and secular ethical framework. This paper introduces to the Islamic principles of ethics in organ transplantation involving human subject to address issues of religion and religious ethics. Historical reflections are discussed as to why Muslim thinkers were late to consider contemporary medical issues such as organ donation. Islam respects life and values need of the living over the dead, thus allowing organ donation to be considered in certain circumstances. The sources of Islamic law are discussed in brief to see how the parameters of organ transplantation are derived. The Islamic perception, both Shiite and Sunni, is examined in relation to organ donation and its various sources. The advantages and disadvantages of brain dead and cadaveric donation are reviewed with technical and ethical considerations. The Islamic concept of brain death, informed and proxy consent are also discussed. The concept of rewarded donation as a way to alleviate the shortage of organs available for transplantation is assessed.    doi: 10.3329/taj.v21i1.3230 TAJ 2008; 21(1): 97-103

Abstract  In recent times, there have been significant changes in the lifestyle of individuals, which reflect in the process of aging, work, daily life and retirement. The aging process is multifactorial and happens to all individuals, and they vary according to the life habits of each human being. The main objective of the research was to analyze the impacts of retirement on the daily routine of the federal public servant. Thus, the qualitative approach was used, using the BOAS questionnaire and a semi-structured interview. From these instruments, the analysis and identification of retirement issues was carried out, which can influence the rupture of daily life. Thus, three categories relevant to research were identified: retirement planning, impact on daily life and re-signification of daily life. Old age is surrounded by change and one of them is retirement. In order to talk about retirement, we need to understand the meaning of work in individuals' lives, which can be a form of social belonging and / or part of the construction of social identity. The impact on daily life due to absence of work led to positive and negative changes, and it is important to note that the first impact perceived with retirement was the absence of a routine that was previously provided by work, each individual sought alternatives in order to reestablish and to recognize in its new reality that it is retirement.  Keywords: Retirement; Aging; Work.

Information technology is taking the world by storm. The technological world is changing rapidly and drastically. Human activities are taken over by robots and computers. The usage of computers and robots has increased productivity in various sectors. The emergence of artificial intelligence has stirred up many debates on both its importance and limitations. Artificial intelligence is directed to the usage of Information Technology in conducting tasks that normally require human intelligence. The expectation of artificial intelligence is high, nevertheless, artificial intelligence has its shortcomings namely the impact of artificial intelligence on the concept of a legal personality. The problem with artificial Intelligence is the debate on whether does it have a legal personality? And another problem is under what situation does the law treat artificial intelligence as an entity with its own rights and obligations. The objective of this article is to examine the various definitions of legal personality and whether artificial intelligence can become a legal person. The article will also examine the criminal liability of artificial intelligence when a crime has been committed. The methodology adopted is qualitative namely Doctrinal Legal Research by analyzing the relevant legal views from various journals on artificial intelligence. The study found out that artificial intelligence has its limitations in defining its legal personality and also in examining the criminal liability when a crime has been committed by robots.

The advent of "world economic transition" and the formation of a multipolar world is closely linked, according to experts, with loss of globalization advances, which strengthens regionalism, increases diversification and fragmentation of the modern world, creating risks and threats to the world development. In this light studying the spatial organization of the global economy becomes more important, and at the same time that complicates the choice of priorities in the research activities of the Department of geography of the world economy, Faculty of Geography, Moscow State Lomonosov University in 2016-20, requiring a new research “ideology”. The article summarizes some ideas expressed by the department staff. It specifies that concept of territorial division of labor, as well as the defined set of key actors in the world economy and common assumptions regarding their contributions to its development needs a significant revision. The above firstly concerns giant developing countries, in particular rapidly growing China – a kind of locomotive entraining other developing states. Further, the impact of multinationals on the overall architecture and the territorial organization of the global economy becomes more and more tangible. This phenomenon requires the creation of a new scientific area of concern – the corporate geography as a tool to thoroughly investigate the transnational division of labor. Changes in the balance of acting forces are closely related to changes in industry composition and spatial organization of the global economy. The article raises the issues of development of such processes as tertiarization of the economy, reindustrialization and neoindustrialization, the latter being understood as an evolutionary transition to a knowledge-intensive, high-tech, mass labor-replacing and environmentally efficient industrial production. Basing on preliminary research from the standpoint of a relatively new methodological approach – formation of value chains – the vector of "geographical transition" " in their creation from developed to developing countries was designated. This means increasing complexity of the territorial structure of the world economy and an increase in the importance of semi-periphery. A spatial projection of globalization processes in the form of emerging “archipelago of cities”, which consolidates the international network of TNCs as the supporting node frame of the global economy requires close attention and analysis. The need of comprehending the study scope in the field of geography of the world economy in medium Atlas Information Systems (AIS), which in terms of functionality belong to the upper class of electronic atlases, is noted.
