Thirty medical eponymous terminological units named after great scientists, physicians, mythological and literary characters have been debated in the current study. The eponymous terms are presented in English, Russian and Bulgarian medical discourse. Brief medical descriptions of the particular discovery, disease or syndrome have been made. Information is given about the person after whom the eponymous term is named, as well. The basic parameters of scientific term are identified: a) Unambiguity; b) Accuracy; c) Brevity; d) Systematicity; e) Grammatical correctness; f) Stylistic neutrality; g) Word formation. Special attention is paid to the specifics of medical eponymous term, its encyclopedic informative volume and didactic aspect regarding the teaching process of specialized medical vocabulary at medical universities. Medical domain “invasion” is highlighted in a number of other domains: politics, computer technology, economics, automotive engineering, ecology, etc. (based on specific examples).

Computer technology with its complex algorithms system made for a wide range benefits to support the efficiency of time and material of human labor. Because of that reason it has given a great contribution to the problem solving of human as its user, which commonly called the brain‐ware. Learning process is a human activity which is practiced on a daily basis. Various written and auditory obstacles faced by teachers and students. In music teaching, for example, a teacher gives examples by playing a musical instrument or through vocal practice. This activity is an example of manually teaching process that of course having some limitations. The purpose of this study is to provide an alternative in learning process that has interactive values. Computer technology will be contributed to make the learning process to be easier then mconventional way, for example, arranging or composing a piece of music in a form of large or small groups without requiring a huge cost. In order to fulfill musical creativity needs, current computer technology has been developing an intelligent electronic devices that can help users to access music menu application program by easily pressing buttons. Computer technology comprises unseparated parts of hardware and software due to their interrelated functions. The first as an electronic media while the second as a system for an operator person to command the computer in order to achieve his needs. This research has resulted an alternative formula in music learning‐teaching process by using computer technology, especially for several applied subjects such as arranging music and others theoretical subjects, for example music theory, harmony, counterpoint, and composition.

The peculiarities of adaptation of anglicisms in the Chinese language are considered. It is shown that the penetration of English linguistic units into the Chinese language is a modern trend, especially in the field of computer technology. It is noted that the morphemes of borrowed words, penetrating into the Chinese language, take part in word formation in the role of classifiers, becoming a constant component of a complex word, which ensures the productivity of a certain model in the Chinese language. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the semantic scope of the term hacker. It has been established that the word hacker has developed different meanings over the past decades. It is pointed out that as the role of the hacker in life changed, the word acquired new interpretations, from neutral ‘specialist’ to negative ‘miscreant’. It is shown that the most active way of borrowing anglicisms is transliteration: the word hacker functions in the Chinese language in the form of two hieroglyphs 黑客, where the second component is included in the “X + 客” model, according to which other neologisms are created. It was revealed that the model is the most productive for the formation of words with the meaning of a person engaged in a certain activity, which is largely due to the active use of the word hacker in the Chinese language.

This article is devoted to the classification of substandard lexical units of medical orientation in English and Russian from the point of their semantic significance. The study is based on the materials of the most authoritative English-speaking and Russian-speaking substandard lexicographic sources. The classification and standardization of medical terminology is currently receiving close attention both from the professional medical community and from the point of linguistic science. The classification of medical vocabulary and, in particular, medical terminology is presented in domestic and foreign scientific from a position of the morphological and syntactic structure and according to the methods of word formation. The problems of medical terminology are discussed in detail in the works of B. Dennis, A.I. Rudova, M.N. Chernyavsky and others, however, the studies conducted did not affect the vocabulary of the substandard level. In this regard, it is advisable to expand and supplement the proposed classifications taking into account the extensive language layer of non-standard vocabulary.

In the XXI century, developments in computer technology and changes in life-style concepts require new names. Abbreviation remains to be one of the productive models to coin new words. This study investigates several modern theories of word formation in relation to abbreviations, acronyms and alphabetism. The aim of this article is to investigate the formation of newly coined abbreviations registered by the Oxford English Dictionary in the period of 2000 – 2016 and to categorize the spheres of knowledge to which they belong.

The article first defines the concept of «co-terminological field» and establishes its place and function in the medical terminological system. The factual material based on special medical literature, media texts and lexicographic sources allows us to fill in the gap in the conceptual apparatus in the French medical discourse and clarify the definition of the medical term. Word-formation analysis and word-formation synthesis in combination with component decomposition of the seminal composition formed the basis of the methodology for studying the structure and semantics of Covid terms in modern French. The allocation of the central and peripheral axes of the lexical-semantic field contributes to the codification and semantic variability of Covid terminology. Borrowed words from the English language occupy a special place in the term group under consideration, which are more easily assimilated in the French word-production system as letter abbreviations, but are replaced by French equivalents at the lexical level.

In this paper, 74 medical terms excerpted from Nowy dykcjonarz (New dictionary) by Michał Abraham Trotz were subject to semantic and formal analyses. The relevant material was presented in the context of the medical lexis being in operation in the 16th and 17th centuries and confronted with the medical vocabulary present in the study by W. Bystrzonowski titled Informacya matematyczna (Mathematical information) of 1749. The analysis of the medical terminology collected by Trotz is aimed to expand our knowledge of the medical vocabulary present in the Polish language of the fi rst half of the 18th century since, as specialists note, there are few studies discussing the medical lexis of that period, and therefore our cognition of the scientifi c sphere of the human activity in this respect is limited. The presented analyses show that the medical terminology collected in Nowy dykcjonarz is mainly old lexis, which is well-established in the Polish language, the origin of which is Polish (lexical borrowings include 13 units), and which came into existence as a result of word formation, syntactic, and semantic derivation. The presence of numerous synonymous names, which prove, among others, that the Polish medical terminology has still been in the phase of formation, has also been noticed.

AbstractThe nongravitational motion of five “erratic” short-period comets is studied on the basis of published astrometric observations. We present the precession models which successfully link all the observed apparitions of the comets: 21P/Giacobini-Zinner, 31P/Schwassmann-Wachmann 2, 32P/Comas Solá, 37P/Forbes, and 43P/Wolf-Harrington. We used the Sekanina's forced precession model of the rotating cometary nucleus to include the nongravitational terms into equations of the comet's motion. Values of six basic parameters (four connected with the rotating comet nucleus and two describing the precession of spin-axis of the nucleus) have been determined along the orbital elements from positional observations of the comets. The solutions were derived with additional assumptions which introduce instantaneous changes of modulus of reactive force,Aand of maximum of cometary activity with respect to perihelion time. The present precession models impose some contraints on sizes and rotational periods of cometary nuclei. According to our solutions the nucleus of 21P/Giacobini-Zinner with oblateness along the spin-axis of about 0.32 (equatorial to polar radius of 1.46) is the most oblate among five investigated comets.

Developement of computer technology provides much improvements on electron microscopy, such as simulation of images, reconstruction of images and automatic controll of microscopes (auto-focussing and auto-correction of astigmatism) and design of electron microscope lenses by using a finite element method (FEM). In this investigation, procedures for simulating the optical properties of objective lenses of HREM and the characteristics of the new lens for HREM at 200 kV are described. The process for designing the objective lens is divided into three stages. Stage 1 is the process for estimating the optical properties of the lens. Firstly, calculation by FEM is made for simulating the axial magnetic field distributions Bzc of the lens. Secondly, electron ray trajectory is numerically calculated by using Bzc. And lastly, using Bzc and ray trajectory, spherical and chromatic aberration coefficients Cs and Cc are numerically calculated. Above calculations are repeated by changing the shape of lens until! to find an optimum aberration coefficients.
