This book is an introduction to quantitative research design and data analysis presented in the context of music education scholarship. The book aims for readers to come away with a familiarity of prototypical research design possibilities as well as a fundamental understanding of data analysis techniques necessary for carrying out scientific inquiry. The book includes examples that demonstrate how the methodological and statistical concepts presented throughout can be applied to pertinent issues in music education. For the majority of Part I, the strategy is to present traditional design categories side by side with explanations of general analytical approaches for dealing with data yielded from each respective design type. Part II consists of chapters devoted to methodological and analytical approaches that have become common in related fields (e.g., psychology, sociology, general education research, educational policy) but are as yet not frequently exploited by music education researchers. Ultimately, this work is motivated by a desire to help scholars acquire the means to actualize their research curiosities and to contribute to the advancement of rigor in music education research throughout the profession at large.

The purpose of the study was to explore and analyse the journey of recovery which is undertaken by women who have been sexually assaulted, with the aim of discovering the grounded theory of recovery from sexual assault within the first six months following the event of rape. The main research question was: ‘What is the journey o f recovery that is undertaken by women within the first six months following sexual assault?’ Another question that developed during data collection and data analysis was ‘What is the meaning that women attach to recovery?’ The findings are discussed under the eight concepts or categories and the context and the intervening conditions that influence the journey of recovery from sexual assault trauma. Refer to part 1 article. These are complemented with abstracts of data from the participants’ voices and the related discussions. The developed theory highlights the process and the interconnectedness of the different stages of what the women experience in their journey of recovery from sexual assault trauma.

The electron density distribution in the unit cell is calculated at intervals of approximately 2Å and plotted in a series of sections parallel to (010). The contour maps show that haemoglobin consists of four subunits in a tetrahedral array. The subunits are identical in pairs in accordance with the twofold symmetry of the molecule. The two pairs are very similar in structure, and the members of each pair closely resemble the molecule of sperm-whale myoglobin. The four haem groups lie in separate pockets at the surface of the molecule. The positions of the iron atoms are confirmed by comparison of observed and calculated anomalous scattering effects, which also serve to determine the absolute configuration of the molecule. The four subunits found by X-ray analysis correspond to the four polypeptide chains into which haemoglobin can be divided by chemical methods. In horse haemoglobin the amino acid sequence within these chains is still partly unknown, but in human haemoglobin it has already been determined. Comparison of this sequence with the tertiary structure of the chains as now revealed in horse haemoglobin and with the atomic model of sperm-whale myoglobin recently obtained by Kendrew and his collaborators shows many interesting relations. Prolines appear to come where the chains turn corners or where their configuration is known to be non-helical. On the other hand, the chains also have corners which contain no proline. Certain residues appear to be structurally vital, because they appear in identical positions in myoglobin and in the two chains of haemoglobin, while in other parts of the molecule a wide variety of different side-chains appears to be allowed.

This research was motivated by the low participation of mothers under five to come to the posyandu, presumably because mothers of toddlers were less interested in the activities of the Bunga Tanjung Gasan Gadang Posyandu, Padang Pariaman Regency. This study aims to see a description of the interests of mothers of children under five, to see the description of the participation of mothers of children under five, and to see the relationship between interest and the participation of mothers of children under five. This type of research is quantitative with a correlational approach. The population of this study were all parents/participants in the posyandu as many as 29 people. While the sample was taken using a purposive technique as much as 75% of the population of 21 people. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. Meanwhile, for the data analysis technique, the percentage formula and the rho sperm formula were used. The results of this study indicate that a) the interest of mothers of children under five in posyandu activities is still low; b) the participation of mothers under five in posyandu activities is still low; and c) there is a significant relationship between interest and participation of mothers under five in posyandu activities. It is recommended to posyandu cadres to carry out various creativity that can develop the interest of mothers of toddlers so that they participate in participating in every activity in posyandu and mothers of toddlers to participate in posyandu activities.

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has made the world to come to a standstill. What started as on 16th March 2020, as 114 confirmed cases of COVID‑19 in the country has now reached worrisome figures. The latest world scenario as per WHO as on 30th November, 2020 is as under-World data: 62,509,444 cases, deaths: 1,458,782; USA: 13,082,877 cases, deaths: 263,946; India: 9,431,691 cases, deaths 137, 139. It is evident that worldwide India is number two in case load and there’s no reason to prevent India from becoming number one unless appropriate corrective steps are taken. Methods: The present study has looked into various data sources available in public domain. The study covered a period of almost nine months i.e., from March 2020 to November 2020. The study revealed a steady increase in the number of COVID-19 cases from March 2020 with peak of pandemic occurring in the mid of September and then a steady decline of cases from October. Results: The data analysis shows that after peaking of cases in September, the epidemic will decline in a phased manner by the end of March 2021. Even though there is a decline seen from the month of October, spike of COVID-19 cases was seen in November in some of the states of India. Therefore, we can’t deny the possibility of a second wave of pandemic to occur in the month of December 2020 and January 2021.Conclusions: Hence appropriate and strict control measures have to be put in place for effective control of the Pandemic and its resurgence.

The work culture of civil servants in this decentralization era tends to come fromthe working culture of each ethnic. The difference of culture applied causes thedifference of civil servants’ way, behavior, and action when performing their work. Thisresearch article aims to discuss one of the working cultures of the civil servants fromMinangkabau ethnic group named galie. This research was conducted by usingdescriptive-qualitative approach, and the data was collected trough observation, interview, and documentation study. Data is validated by triangulation and sourcetriangulation methods.Tthe data analysis is based on Miles and Huberman (2000). Theresult of the research shows that the galie work culture has usually been inherited in thefamily and society for a period time; hence the galie work culture is also implementedwhile working in the local government organization of Pasaman Barat regency. Theresearch concluded that the galie work culture does not cause work culture that canharm others, but whenever the work culture exists, the civil servants would be annoyed.Civil servants who have this work culture tend to avoid risks and prefer simpler workthan their colleagues.Key words: work ethnict culture, galie, civil servant, Minangkabau ethict

This article discusses the use of PowerPoint animation in learning with the aim of knowing the differences in learning outcomes of students whose learning uses power points and without using power points in three-dimensional topics. The method used is an experimental design with a True Experimental Design, namely Posttest-Only Design. The sampling technique used cluster random sampling. Student learning outcomes data were obtained through the learning outcome test instrument in the form of essays. Data analysis using descriptive analysis techniques and inferential data analysis. Hypothesis testing using a parametric analysis t-test. The results of the analysis show that the average learning outcomes of students who are taught using power points are higher than those of students taught conventionally. One of the factors that support the improvement of student learning outcomes is a learning approach to geometric shapes that involves interesting visualization. Interesting visualization makes students not just imagine something abstract but can directly observe the object being studied.

LOCAL WISDOM IN THE LEXICON OF RITUAL BLESSING NGAJI RASAABSTRACTThe research was distributed by the pros and cons of the Dayak community to the existence of Hindu-Buddhist Earth Segandu Indramayu (SDHBBSI) in Indramayu neighborhoods deemed heretical. The existence of a SDHBBSI community overview considered one eye turned out to have a culture that values the sublime. These values are reflected in the array-array Ngaji Rasa the rites of blessing a sense held each night Friday Kliwon as one form of prayer. As for the problems of the staple in this research are (1) the structure of the text, (2) a reference lexicon, and (3) local wisdom values contained in the Ngaji Rasa of ritual blessing. In doing research in the field, this research is limited to three text praises the ritual of Ngaji Rasa. This research was used to support the anthropolinguistic approach with a model ethnography of communication. The technique of data collection in this research is the observation and interviews, participants are not structured. The technique of data analysis is performed by doing a text structure analysis based on the praises, analyzes the reference lexicon, and uncover local wisdom values contained in the Ngaji Rasa of ritual blessing. In this study, obtained five repetitions of the lexicon, 10 isotopes are divided into three themes in the analysis of the motives of the structure of the text. Lexicon reference retrieved as many as seven, namely application, Godhead, natural, kinship, places, activities, and advice. Lexicon containing wisdom in accordance with Javanese view of life, namely the microcosm and macrocosm showed a value of harmony in the praise.
