The writing of literary works by authors from Minangkabau is dominated by the theme of youth resistance to Minangkabau culture supported by the Elder. Therefore, this article tried to discuss about young people's resistance to Minangkabau culture in the Kompas Daily short story. The research data was collected from four short stories by Minangkabau authors published by Kompas daily and analyzed using the theory of sociology of literature by using mimesis approach. This type of research was qualitative descriptive. Collecting and analyzing data were done simultaneously with reading-record-analysis technique, used content analysis method and heuristic and hermeneutic reading method. The findings of the study and discussion revealed that the short story of the Kompas Daily contained the resistance of Minangkabau youth which included resistance to the tradition of money pick-ups,  to the customary provisions that prohibit boys in Minangkabau occupied communal land, to mamak policies abusing inherited property, and  to the ban on marriage in the Minangkabau culture.Penulisan karya sastra oleh pengarang yang berasal dari Minangkabau didominasi oleh tema penentangan kaum muda terhadap budaya Minangkabau yang didukung oleh kaum tua. Oleh sebab itu, artikel ini mencoba melihat penentangan kaum muda terhadap budaya Minangkabau dalam cerpen Harian Kompas. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dari empat cerpen karya pengarang Minangkabau yang diterbitkan Harian Kompas dan dianalisis menggunakan teori sosiologi sastra dengan menggunakan pendekatan mimesis. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskripstif. Pengumpulan dan penganalisisan data dilakukan secara bersamaan dengan teknik baca-catat-analisis, menggunakan metode content analysis dan metode pembacaan heuristik dan hermeneutik. Temuan penelitian dan pembahasan mengungkapkan bahwa cerpen Harian Kompas memuat penentangan kaum muda Minangkabau yang meliputi penentangan terhadap tradisi uang jemputan, penentangan terhadap ketentuan adat yang melarang anak laki-laki di Minangkabau menempati tanah ulayat, penentangan terhadap kebijakan mamak yang menyalahgunakan harta pusaka, dan penentangan terhadap larangan pernikahan sesuku dalam budaya Minangkabau.

This study discusses the positive politeness strategies in Kupang Malay on Facebook social media which are related with the politeness strategy theory  by Brown and Levinson. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with content analysis method. The research data were the status posts/comments in the Kupang Malay language on the Facebook which were selected based on the suitability of the research objectives. The selected data are then collected and analyzed according to theory. As a result, there are 12 strategies used by Facebook users in Kupang Malay namely (1) give sympathy to the interlocutor; (2) exaggerating sympathy for the interlocutor; (3) pay special attention to the interlocutor; (4) increase interest in the interlocutor; (5) use markers that show similarities; (6) seek the approval of the interlocutor; (7) avoid conflict with the interlocutor; (8) presupposes the interlocutor; (9) the strategy of making jokes; (10) strategies for making offers and promises; (11) showing a sense of optimism; and (12) trying to involve the interlocutor. Penelitian ini membahas strategi kesantunan positif dalam bahasa Melayu Kupang pada media sosial Facebook yang dikaitkan dengan teori strategi kesantunan yang dikemukakan oleh Brown dan Levinson. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode analisis isi (content analysis). Data penelitian adalah tulisan status/komentar dalam bahasa Melayu Kupang pada Facebook yang dipilih berdasarkan kesesuaian terhadap tujuan penelitian. Data yang dipilih kemudian dikumpulkan dan dianalisis sesuai teori. Hasilnya, ada 12 strategi yang digunakan oleh pengguna Facebook berbahasa Melayu Kupang, dan ada 12 strategi yang ditemukan dalam penggunaanya dalam Facebook, yaitu (1) memberikan simpati pada lawan tutur; (2) melebih-lebihkan simpati pada lawan tutur; (3) memberikan perhatian khusus pada lawan tutur; (4) meningkatkan rasa tertarik pada lawan tutur; (5) menggunakan penanda yang menunjukkan kesamaan; (6) mencari dan mengusahakan persetujuan lawan tutur; (7) menghindari pertentangan dengan lawan tutur; (8) mempresuposisikan lawan tutur; (9) strategi membuat lelucon; (10) strategi membuat penawaran dan janji; (11) menunjukkan rasa optimism; dan (12) berusaha melibatkan lawan tutur.

The upper-class dominates various social spaces in society, including children’s stories. Children’s stories as a means of socializing values also participate in socializing upper-class habitus in the storyline. This study aims to describe the children’s habitus as narrated in short stories published in Bobo magazine. The method used in this study is the quantitative content analysis method and critical discourse analysis. This study’s object is about 174 short stories published in Bobo magazine from January 2019 to August 2020, of which 110 stories were taken randomly as samples. The results show that most of the children’s habitus narrated in the stories were upper-class children’s habitus, reaching out to 87 or 79.1% of all stories. Meanwhile, lower-class children’s habitus was found in 30.9% of all stories. The habitus of upper-class children featured in the story consisting of go on an excursion, luxury living, own electronic goods, own expensive good, wearing nightgowns, reading, and writing. On the other side, the habitus of lower-class children habitus featured in the story consisting of playing traditional games, living in poverty, and doing lower-class work. In conclusion, the upper-class children’s habitus appears more dominantly within short stories in Bobo magazine. This study’s results are expected as recommend to parties related to children’s stories publication to present more balanced stories.

This research aimed to obtain a deep depiction of personality type on the main character in the film series: Nobuta wo Produce by Izumi Kizara.  Film series Nobuta wo Produce is a television drama series adapted from novel with the same title by Gen Shiraiwa. This research was conducted using content analysis method. This research data was analyzed through psychoanalytic by Carl Gustav Jung approach. The data were collected through documents, and data observations about the main character personality in film series: Nobuta wo Produce by Izumi Kizara. The result showed that Kiritani Shuuji as the main character of film series: Nobuta wo Produce by Izumi Kizara has two tendencies of the dominant personality type, thinking introvert type and feeling ekstravert type. The result lead to recommendation to Japanese literature educator, literature researcher, film review, and parents.

This research was based on the view that literature is basically a reflection of society. So in this study, researchers used the approach to the sociology of literature. This paper aimed to describe (1) short story becomes one of the literary works that are used as teaching material in schools, (2) the aspect of characrter education based on the collection of short stories entitled Mata Yang Enak Dipandang by Ahmad Tohari, and (3) social problems collection of short stories entitled Mata Yang Enak Dipandang. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive explaining the data that has been found in research. The main data sources in this study the quotations contained in the novel and the results of interviews with literary experts and learning experts. The results of this study is the main characters in this short story are varied and its can be utilized in the study of literary appreciation for Class XI in Senior high school semester with the standard literary discourse understanding competence through reading poetry and short stories in the aspects of reading and basic competence that is analyzing the intrinsic elements of a short story linkages with everyday life

Colonial Era Education in Siedjah Novel Written by Nico Vink (Literarure Sociology Study) ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan potret pendidikan, fakta sejarah, latar belakang sosial budaya masyarakat, dan nilai-nilai pendidikan yang terkandung dalam novel Siedjah karya Nico Vink. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode content analysis atau analisis isi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Metode ini menghasilkan data deskriptif berupa data tertulis maupun lisan tentang nilai-nilai pendidikan dalam unsur sosiologi. Metode ini digunakan untuk menelaah isi dari suatu dokumen. Dokumen dalam penelitian ini adalah novel Siedjah karya Nico Vink. Dalam hal ini peneliti mendeskripsikan data yang berkaitan dengan nilai-nilai pendidikan dalam lingkup sosiologi sastra. Hasil temuan dalam penelitian ini meliputi nilai-nilai pendidikan pada era kolonialisme yang berangkat dari fakta sejarah yang diceritakan ulang oleh tokoh utama Siedjah. Tokoh utama memandang sistem kolonialisme merupakan sistem terpadu yang dilakukan untuk kepentingan tertentu demi menaikkan citra sosial yaitu sebagai kaum pendidik.Kata kunci: Siedjah, Nico Vink, nilai pendidikan, sosiologi sastra, kolonialismeABSTRACTThis study aims to describe the portrait of education, historical facts, the socio-cultural background of the community, and the educational values contained in the novel Siedjah written by Nico Vink. This method produces descriptive data in the form of written and oral data about the values of education in sociological elements. This method is used to examine the contents of document. The document in this research is the novel Siedjah by Nico Vink. In this case, the researcher describes the data related to the values of education in the sociology of literature. The findings in this study include the values of education in the colonialism era, which begin from historical facts that are retold by the main character Siedjah. NILAI MORAL DALAM ANTOLOGI CERPEN FILOSOFI KOPIDAN IMPLIKASINYA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN SASTRAAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menemukan nilai-nilai moral yang terkandung dalam antologi cerpen Filosofi Kopi melalui kajian hermeneutik serta implikasinya dalam pembelajaran sastra di SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik analisis isi. Nilai moral yang diteliti dibatasi pada nilai positif dalam antologi cerpen Filosofi Kopi. Sumber data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yakni antologi cerpen Filosofi Kopi karya Dewi Lestari yang berisi 18 cerita yang terdiri 8 cerita pendek dan 10 prosa liris, tetapi yang diteliti hanya 8 cerita pendek. Berdasarkan hasil analisis yang telah dilakukan terhadap delapan cerpen, dapat disimpulkan bahwa cerpen-cerpen karya Dewi Lestari mengandung nilai-nilai moral positif yang meliputi kejujuran, bertanggung jawab, kesetiaan, sopan santun, hati nurani, rendah hati, dan konsekuen. Implikasi hasil penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran sastra di sekolah dengan menggunakan beberapa judul cerpen dalam antologi cerpen Filosofi Kopi karya Dewi Lestari sebagai sumber pembelajaran berpotensi menghasilkan siswa yang mempunyai nilai-nilai moral yang baik. Kata kunci: nilai moral, cerpen, pembelajaran sastraAbstractThis study was aimed at identifying the moral values contained in Filosofi Kopi short story anthology through hermeneutic studies and its implications in the study of literature in thesenior high school. The study used a descriptive qualitative method with a content-analysis technique. The moral values under study were limited to positive values. The data source used in this study was written by Dewi Lestari. This short story contained 18 stories consisting of 8 short stories and 10 lyrical proses. The samples of this study were 8 short stories. Results show that the short stories of Dewi Lestari's work contain positive moral values that include honesty, responsibility, loyalty, courtesy, conscience, humility, and consequence. The implications of the study include the fact that literature learning using this anthology is able to improve the students’ moral values.Keywords: moral value, short-story, literature education

This article studies realisms in a short story entitled “Bulan Gendut di Tepi Gangsal” written by Wa Ode Wulan Ratna. The aim of this study is to know and to describe the characteristics in short story “Bulan Gendut di Tepi Gangsal” written by Wa Ode Wulan Ratna. The use of content analysis method focusing on the text of the short story explains the meaning of the content of symbolic interaction taking place during the communication in the story so that the content could be well understood. The research findings show that there are 8 characteristics of realism in a short story entitled “Bulan Gendut di Tepi Gangsal”.AbstrakTulisan ini mengkaji realisme dalam cerita pendek “Bulan Gendut di Tepi Gangsal” karya Wa Ode Wulan Ratna. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan ciri-ciri aliran realisme yang terdapat dalam karya sastra Indonesia bergenre cerita pendek berjudul BGTG karya Wa Ode Wulan Ratna. Penggunaan metode analisis isi yang memberikan perhatian pada teks karya sastra menjelaskan makna isi interaksi simbolik yang terjadi dalam peristiwa komunikasi, sehingga dapat dipahami isi cerpen itu secara tepat. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada tujuh karakteristik realisme dalam cerita pendek “Bulan Gendut di Tepi Gangsal”.

Abstract Background The exponential spread of COVID-19 has caused a huge threat to public health worldwide. Providing care for patients with COVID-19 is a stressful experience for ICU nurses, which can affect their protective reactions. The present study was conducted to explore the protective reactions of ICU nurses providing care for patients with COVID-19. Methods This qualitative descriptive study was conducted to discover the protective reactions of nurses providing care for patients with COVID-19. A total of 14 ICU nurses were selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected using individual semi-structured face-to-face interviews. All interviews were recorded, and then codes and themes were extracted using content analysis method. Finding Seventeen subcategories, six categories and two themes were extracted from the analysis of data. These themes include “Unbalanced self-protective reactions” and “Responsible self-protective reactions”. Conclusion During the COVID-19 epidemic and crisis, ICU nurses exhibit different self-protective reactions when providing care for patients with COVID-19, which include unbalanced and responsible reactions. Nursing managers can mitigate these unbalanced reactions by identifying them and their roots. Identifying the protective reactions of ICU nurses in providing care for patients with COVID-19 could assist in developing the necessary interventions to promote positive reactions and reduce unbalanced reactions by finding their root causes.

The purpose of this study is to analyses the studies about science, technol-ogy, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education in the world by using the content analysis method and to reveal the trend in the field. In this study, which was carried out in a survey design to analyses the articles pub-lished in the Institute for Scientific Information web of science database be-tween 2010 and May 2020 and to determine the research trends of the arti-cles published in this direction, 100 articles selected by criterion sampling method were examined. In the selection of articles, attention was paid to in-clude studies on ‘STEM Education’ with respect to perspective of emerging technologies in learning. After examining the articles, the articles were analyses by content analysis method. The articles were examined in terms of descriptive information about the identity of the article, cate-gory field, article subject area, method, sample, data collection tools, data analysis methods and discussion size. The research data were interpreted based on the percentage and frequency findings, and data were presented as tables and graphs. According to the research data, it was determined that the highest number of publications was published be-tween 2016 and 2018, mostly studies with 2 authors were conducted, and almost all of them were written in English. In addition, it was determined that the number of hypotheses was mostly 2 or 3, and STEM education as a subject area was mostly han-dled covering all its dimensions, whereas mathematics and science educa-tion took second place. It was also observed that the experimental model and the mixed method were used extensively in the studies, and the written sources were frequently used as data collection tools. It was concluded that one-third of the sample level was primary education level studies, the sam-ple selection method was purposeful sampling, and the discussion size was 3 or 4. Based on the current research analysis, the pro-file and trends of the articles were monitored and important recommendations were made in the framework contributing to scientific research.

Objects become one of the discussions in both Indonesian and Arabic grammar which serves to form basic sentences in sentences that are transitive predicated, clarify the meaning of sentences, and form a unity or completeness of mind. Therefore, the author will examine the differences and similarities about objects or maf'ulbih in Arabic and Indonesian so that a learner will easily understand the structure of the sentence in texts with different themes. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach with content analysis method. The research data are in the form of Arabic object structures in the Al-Jazirah Online newspaper and the structure of Indonesian objects in the Tempo kora. The results of this study are the equations of the structure of objects in Arabic and Indonesian, the equations concerning the type of words used, namely both nouns both in Indonesian and Arabic. The differences in the structure of the objects of the two languages ​​can be seen from the order of placement of objects, in Arabic the object may overtake the subject and the predicate does not have to be after the predicate, but in Indonesian it is not like that.
