The authors of the article provide an overview of relevant legal regulations in the field of mental workload and occupational health and safety in the conditions of the Slovak Republic. The article deals with the manifestations of mental workload, a risk factor in the work environment, such as stress, fatigue, monotony and mental overload. It includes recommended procedures and methods of assessing mental and sensory workload in terms of work characteristics and work environment, as well as recommended measures to reduce the level of excessive mental workload.

Introduction. Development of methodical base of information hygiene, systematization of data on levels of information loadings and degree of their influence on working conditions of workers is actual.The purpose of the study was to measure and evaluate the levels of information mental load of office workers, to study the patterns of development of adverse functional States in this professional group.Materials and methods. The pilot study included 25 employees of scientific and educational institutions aged 25 to 65 years. Measurement of information mental load of workers was carried out on the basis of a point assessment. Psychodiagnostics of performance of participants of research was carried out by means of a package of standard techniques. Heart rate telemetry was carried out in employees in the conditions of professional activity.Results. The integral indicator of information mental load of the studied professional group was 37.3±7.2 points and was in direct connection with the coefficient of comfort of the workplace (r=0.5, p=0.01). A reliable dependence of the speed of information processing on the length of work experience (r=0.71, p=0.0001) was also established. In the low-stress group, high indices of stress, fatigue, monotony were recorded in the workers, in the senior group — signs of chronic fatigue. The employees during the shift registered an increase in sympathetic activation.Conclusions. The results of the psychophysiological survey of employees indicate the need to regulate the information load, the development and implementation of preventive measures to reduce professional stress.

The aim of this paper is to analyze the primary stress factors female professors at online universities are exposed to. The technique used for the prospective and exploratory analysis was the Delphi method. Two rounds of consultations were done with fourteen judges with broad experience in health and safety at work and university teaching who reached a consensus of opinion regarding a list of nine psychosocial risk factors. Among the most important risk factors, mental overload, time pressure, the lack of a schedule, and emotional exhaustion were highlighted. These risk factors are related to the usage and expansion of information and communication technology (ICT) and to the university system itself, which requires initiating more research in the future in order to develop the intervention programs needed to fortify the health of the affected teachers and protect them from stress and other psychosocial risks.

Productivity is the ability to achieve certain tasks in accordance with predetermined standards. Companies must create safe work environment to motivate employees so that they can increase overall company productivity. Purpose of the study is to explain the effect of work discipline, occupational health and safety on the work productivity of Sariasih Garment employees with 51 people as samples, using saturated sample method. Data collected through observation, interviews and questionnaires and analyzed by multiple linear regression. Based on the results, work discipline, occupational health and work safety have  positive and significant effect on employee work productivity. It is expected that company pays attention to employees' compliance with regulations in doing their jobs and the company is able to create a safe, comfortable and clean work environment. Employees have enthusiasm and protection while working so that employees are able to increase work productivity in order to create maximum work results. In this study, an analysis of independent studies dealing with occupational safety training in different learning environments, in which various learning materials are used, was carried out. As a method, meta-analysis method was used. For this purpose, databases were used to collect national and international articles and papers suitable for the purpose of the study. Studies that did not mention the tools, equipment and environment used in education in the collected studies were excluded from the research, and 18 studies were included in the meta-analysis. The data obtained studies are categorized according to the education models, the sectors in which the education is applied and the characteristics of the participants in the education. As it is known, occupational health and safety procedures aim at a healthy and reliable working environment for its employees. However, the ultimate goal is to raise not only employees but also future generations with this awareness. The most important instrument of this is undoubtedly education. For this reason, it is necessary to develop training models suitable for the work environment, age, gender and every conceivable situation.

Objective - This study aims to determine and analyze the influence of Occupational Health and Safety, and the Working Environment on Employee Performance with Job Satisfaction as a mediating variable in PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) with sample on DAOP I Jakarta. Methodology/Technique - The study population numbered 292 employees and 75 respondents be adopted as a sample of the study. Techniques of analysis using a statistical test structural equation model-based variance (SmartPLS). Findings – The results showed that, (1) Occupational Health and Safety had no effect on Job Satisfaction and Employee Performance, (2) the Work Environment had a positive and significant effect on Job Satisfaction and Employee Performance (3) Job Satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance, (4) Occupational Health and Safety has no effect on Employee Performance even though through Job Satisfaction mediation, (5) the Work Environment has a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance through mediation of Job Satisfaction, (6) Occupational Health and Safety, and the Work Environment simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on Job Satisfaction with the coefficient of determination, which is equal to 0,533, (7) Occupational Health and Safety, Work Environment, and Job Satisfaction simultaneously have a positive effect and significant to Employee Performance with coefficient of determination, which is equal to 0,890. Novelty - The company is expected to provide adequate rest periods, maintain the nutritional intake of its employees by providing healthy food, provide educational scholarships for further levels for employees, safeguard the work environment from chemical hazards and other hazards, and give positive motivation to the employees. Noise – as a risk factor in the environment – in case it exceeds the intensity limits it becomes a biological aggression factor, a medical and social contaminant with implications of prime importance in terms of health, work capacity and comfort.This research is an objective analysis of noise level and frequency spectrum emitted by gas compressor Compressco CJ 360 in order to identify and develop solutions for noise protection required for the establishment of the environmental conditions in accordance with legal regulations in the area desired by the beneficiary. The research proposes a technical solution for closing the compressor with sound insulation prior to placing it in the desired place, in suitable environmental conditions.

Occupational health covers all aspects of health and safety in the workplace and has a strong focus on primary prevention of hazards. The objective of the study was to understand the extent of awareness about occupational health risks involved in tannery occupation and adopted preventive measures by the tannery workers of Kanpur, India. Information for the present research was strained from a cross-sectional household study of tannery workers in the Jajmau area of Kanpur. The survey was piloted through the period January–June 2015, and 284 samples were collected. The prevalence of awareness of tannery work is very hazardous in nature varies from 73–93% among the tannery workers. Tannery workers having a middle-school level of education were 3.01 times more likely to be aware of the hazards as compared to the illiterate workers. Tannery workers aged 36 and above were less likely to aware of a hazardous work environment. Further, tannery workers who belong to the younger cohort (16–24 years) reported a higher awareness of respiratory problems (38%), skin complaints (59%), and gastrointestinal issues (21%) than those aged 36 years and above. About one-third of Beam house workers (33%) and over a quarter (26%) of the wet finishing had moderate to high dermal contact with the chemicals. The study’s outcomes give a clear indication of the effect of the workstation environment on the health status of workers and require the use of adequate measures to improve the facilities and thereby the health status of tannery workers.

The concept of Occupational Health and Safety has become increasingly important as a result of increased industrialization and the development of new technologies all over the world. The basic philosophy of Occupational Health and Safety is to reduce the number of work accidents and to provide a healthier work environment for employees. The most risky sectors in the world are designated as mining, agriculture, forestry and construction. Markets are classified as "Dangerous Classes of Occupational Health and Safety" issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (ILO, 2004). When the risks are taken into consideration, marketing companies should perform risk analysis to ensure that hazards and problems will ocur. In this context, it is needed to provide and implement training on occupational health and safety regularly in order to protect against the identified risks. Periodic evaluations are performed at regular intervals that decrease in loss of life and property at marketing companies, both tangible as well as intangible losses will be reduced. Abstract Background Telework satisfaction is a Public Health concern, intensified by the COVID-19 pandemic, and its determinant factors may be related with the negative health effects of teleworking. However, there is still little research exploring this issue. This study aimed to characterize telework during the first wave of the COVID-19 epidemic in Portugal and to identify the major predictors of telework satisfaction. Methods This is a cross-sectional study aimed at all teleworkers working in Portugal, during the first wave of the COVID-19 epidemic. Data were collected through a Google Forms platform online questionnaire distributed by a snowball method on social networks. Descriptive statistics included crude and relative frequency data. The associations between sociodemographic characteristics, self-perceived health, organization of working time, concentration at work, work-life balance, work disconnection, working conditions, and organizational demands (flexibility and organizational trust based on E-work Life Scale) with telework satisfaction were estimated through logistic regression. Results This study included 1004 participants. Teleworkers satisfaction levels were high (69%). Better concentration at work (OR = 1.54; 95%CI 1.01–2.34); the satisfaction with the balance between work life and extra work when teleworking (OR = 1.79; 95%CI 1.17–2.74); and higher work flexibility (OR = 2.26; 95%CI 1.46–3.49) were good predictors of greater levels of satisfaction with telework. However, its major predictors were the company’s trust in teleworkers (OR = 4.50; 95%CI 2.89–7.02) and feeling good in the workspace at home (OR = 3.72; 95%CI 1.46–9.49). Conclusions Our findings point that work environment and organizational culture play a crucial role in affecting telework satisfaction. More studies are needed to monitor telework satisfaction and its effects on physical and mental health, so that Public and Occupational Health (and Safety) can be able to identify and implement the best interventions that allow promoting individual health and foster a healthy work environment for teleworkers.
