scholarly journals THE BOOK OF JOB AS A DEPICTION OF A PERSON’S SPIRITUAL BIRTH PROCESS

The article focuses on the eternal theme of human life: suffering and its cause, deeply revealed in the biblical Book of Job. Although from ancient times this problem and its disclosure were interpreted both in philosophy and in religion, it has remained unresolved until nowadays and therefore worries a lot of people. Researchers of the Book of Job focus on two problems: the problem of suffering and the problem of theodicy, which arises from the existence of evil and injustice in the world. However, according to the author of the article, the main idea of the Book of Job is not the problem of God’s justice, but the problem of a person’s spiritual birth. In the text of the article, the author, scrupulously analyzing every image and symbol of the Book of Job, shows and proves that the suffering sent by God to Job through Satan is an initiation through which the transformation of the Job psyche and his spiritual birth takes place. To prove this, the author analyzes the spiritual world-attitude and God-attitude of Job before the trials (God-fearing and law-abiding, life near God) and after the trial (deep vision and feeling of God’s wisdom and all His deeds, life in God and with God). The main author’s method is searching for images and symbols’ disclosure in the Book of Job, not only verbal, but also numerical ones. The article researches the main symbols of the Book of Job and their significance for understanding of this text. The author focuses on the ideas of numbers 3, 7, 10 and especially on the significance of number 10 as some kind of completeness. The author also analyzes the symbolic meaning of the ashes, images of the Leviathan and the Hippopotamus, and Satan as the messenger of God for human trials. The author reveales some key features of human psychology: the role of fear in the human life (Job’s fear of the fate of his sons), behaviour in an extreme situation (Job and his wife), and abandonment of the miserable man (friends and relatives of Job). Based on the disclosure of the symbolism of images and numbers, the author concludes that the problem of justice in the Book of Job is removed. God gives to everyone what he deserves, and suffering and deprivation are not a punishment, not ends in themselves, as in asceticism, but a means of spiritual and mental transformation and spiritual development of person.

"Reflections on the concept of objective art in the context of contemporary art. Objective art communicates about the human being and his/her place in the universe, about the cosmic laws and the role they play in human life and provide clues as to how man can relate to them. From literary sources attesting to the idea that art in its origin had the role of transmitting knowledge to future generations, we deduce that in ancient times all art forms could be read like a book, and those who knew how to read, fully understood the meaning of the knowledge that was incorporated in these art forms. Nevertheless, there are two forms of art, one very different from the other: objective art and subjective art. Everything that we call art today is subjective art. Objective art is the authentic work resulted from the deliberate, premeditated efforts of a conscious artist. In the act of his creation, the artist avoids or eliminates any subjective or arbitrary element and the impression that such a work evokes in others is always defined. Keywords: objective art, the art of antiquity, contemporary art "

Technological progress in Indonesia itself cannot be denied. What is feared is that the diversity of cultures and languages in Indonesia is threatened with extinction. Yann Martel’s novel Life of Pi, the winner of numerous prestigious awards, was described as“very bold and extreme with a wonderful central idea” (Irish Examiner 2002). The “central idea” of the novel has been described differently by readers and literary critics around the world. For many, it is Pi’s relationship with the tiger, Richard Parker; for some, it is the decentering of humans in favour of animals; and yet for others, the central idea of Life of Pi lies in Martel’s unusual treatment of religions and their role in human life. In this paper we argue that that the main idea of the novel is Martel’s ecocriticism of humanity in general, and especially the tendency of humans to put themselves at the center of any story, whether about animals or gods. Martel creates a tangled web of many different stories which define Pi’s life in order to prioritize the role of fiction in the development of human personality and dissect the relations between the human, the natural world, and the text. Although he favors the animal story, the final chapter reveals that the only story humans find “real” is the one in which animals are seen as anthropomorphic.

The article is devoted to the image of childhood as one of the most complex aesthetic elements in Charlotte Brontë’s novel Jane Eyre. The paper argues that there are two primarily important characteristics of the image in the novel: polyphony – that is, the presence of different points of view on the child and the adult – and thirst for happiness. Special attention is paid to the polyphony of voices describing the heroinenarrator. The paper also focuses on the role of the motifs of orphanhood, rejection and loneliness, on the one hand, and of search for happiness, on the other, in developing the image of childhood. The authors argue that the heroine-narrator not only overcomes ordeals but also accomplishes a multi-stage way of growing up – from vague impressions and sensations to a clear awareness, the development of principles and understanding of the structure of the world; from complete alienation from the world to the ability to empathize and open her heart to another; from creative inclinations and instinctiveness to enterprise, spiritual development, upholding her ‘naturalness’ and her own way. The paper researches Brontë’s technique of accuracy in details as applied to depict the development of the heroine-narrator’s spiritual world and her outer image and type of behavior. At the same time, it focuses on two versions (synchronic and in retrospect) of depicting Jane’s vision of her own behavior and character. There are also analyzed the ways of comparing and contrasting different child images in the novel: the one based on certain religious-didactic signals (Jane vs. Mrs. Reed’s children) and the one based on the religious system of values (Jane and Helen). The paper particularly emphasizes the role of natural tenacity (and naturalness in general) and the Protestant at its core model of responsible and natural behavior based on the feeling of love in leading the heroine-narrator to matrimonial happiness.

The scientific problem of economics “Managing the quality of human life” is formulated on the basis of artificial intelligence, algebra of logic and logical-probabilistic calculus. Managing the quality of human life is represented by managing the processes of his treatment, training and decision making. Events in these processes and the corresponding logical variables relate to the behavior of a person, other persons and infrastructure. The processes of the quality of human life are modeled, analyzed and managed with the participation of the person himself. Scenarios and structural, logical and probabilistic models of managing the quality of human life are given. Special software for quality management is described. The relationship of human quality of life and the digital economy is examined. We consider the role of public opinion in the management of the “bottom” based on the synthesis of many studies on the management of the economics and the state. The bottom management is also feedback from the top management.

Human beings are deeply related to land. Human beings take birth on land, live on land, die on land and mixes with land ultimately. As stated in the holy Quran: ‘We (Allah) created you (human beings) from the soil, we shall make you return to the soil and We shall call you back again from the soil’ (20:55). Human life is surrounded by soil i.e. land. So, land is a highly completed issue of human life involving economic, social, political, cultural and often religious systems. Land administration is thus a critical element and often a pre-condition for peaceful society and sustainable development. In administrating land, Khatian or record of rights plays a vital role to determine the rights and interests of the respective parties as supportive evidence. In this article, discussion is mainly made on the fact that Khatian or record of rights is not a document of title solely but it may be an evidence of title as well as possession. The article examines the philosophy of Henri Bergson and William James as independent doctrines aimed at rational comprehension of spiritual reality. The doctrines imply the paramount importance of consciousness, the need for continuous spiritual development, the expansion of experience and perception. The study highlights the fundamental role of spiritual energy for individual and universal evolution, which likens these doctrines to the ancient Eastern teaching as well as to Platonism in Western philosophy. The term “spiritual energy” is used by Bergson and James all the way through their creative career, and therefore this concept should considered in the examination of their solution to the most important philosophical and scientific issues, such as the relationship of matter and spirit, consciousness and brain, cognition, free will, etc. The “radical empiricism” of William James and the “creative evolution” of Henry Bergson should be viewed as conceptions that based on peacemaking goals, because they are aimed at reconciling faith and facts, science and religion through the organic synthesis of sensory and spiritual levels of experience. Although there is a number of modern scientific discoveries that were foreseen by philosophical ideas of Bergson and James, both philosophers advocate for the artificial limitation of the sphere of experimental methods in science. They call not to limit ourselves to the usual intellectual schemes of reality comprehension, but attempt to touch the “living” reality, which presupposes an increase in the intensity of attention and will, but finally brings us closer to freedom.
