The national model of interaction between higher education and the labour market was formed under the influence of world processes (globalization, marketization, internationalization, Europeanization). In 2020, the national economy, having reached the frontier of its development, was struck by the COVID-19 pandemic, whose negative consequences require rigorous analysis and careful study. Since 2014, the negative trends in the interaction of higher education with the labour market have begun to grow. They manifested in a shortage of highly qualified workers, or inconsistency of qualifications with the requirements of the national labour market. These trends continue to escalate in recent years. At the legislative level, there was an attempt from the government to outline steps towards the interaction of higher education with the labour market but without defining specific mechanisms. The economic and financial crisis has required the government to transit to another form of financing higher education institutions and to restructure and even reduce their number. The current state of interaction between higher education and the labour market is defined as unbalanced. That has led to a mismatch between supply and demand in the national labour market; the high level of unemployment among graduates of higher educational institutions and professionals with higher education; increasing student and labour migration; distance learning and work remotely. Ukraine is gradually losing modern factors of economic growth – human capital. Prospective trends are considered in the transition to a circular economy; the inclusion of the “environmental” dimension of the circular economy in professionals training and education. The article analyses the interaction of higher education with the labour market in Ukraine over the past decade (2010-2020). The study focuses on an analysis of past, current and future trends in higher education, the labour market and national legislation from the perspective of sustainable economic development. The research is interdisciplinary and mixed (theoretical and empirical). For visualization of the analysed phenomena and conclusions, the surveys data conducted in 2015, 2017 and 2020 are presented.

he article deals with the multifactorial aspects of the labour market development as a special economic category: stages of development, impact of the economic crisis, trends during the pandemic, movement of employment and unemployment, etc. The analysis of the situation on the labour market, both in the whole world, and in the context of Russia and its subjects, is carried out. Trends in the development of the labour market are shown through the prism of global trends in economic development and the specifics of decision-making at the level of the Russian Federation since 1989, the period of transformation of its socio-economic development and entry into the world market. Much attention is paid to the situational response of the labour market to the global coronavirus pandemic in terms of analyzing the supply and demand of vacancies, salaries and their dynamics over the past year of the largest recruitment portal in the country. The risk sectors of the labour market development are shown for the territory of Russia as a whole, federal districts and subjects of the federation. The conclusion is made about sufficient decisions of the government of the Russian Federation in the pre-crisis period and forced anti-crisis actions during the pandemic in the conditions of long-term sanctions by key world actors. The measures necessary for the adoption of federal decisions to reduce the strain on the labour market in the long term, taking into account the reduction in the economy’s income, are outlined: closing more territories or sectors of the labor market to foreign labour, organizing jobs at real enterprises, optimizing the flow of domestic labour migration and new technological solutions in the economy

The paper analyzes the correlation between supply and demand for skilled labour on the rural labour market. The paper defines skilled workers as those having tertiary professional education. The empirical basis for the research is constituted by the Labour Force Survey data between 2005 and 2015. It has been proved that in this period the supply of the skilled labour was steadily on the increase that was determined by the growth of both the number and share of people with higher education. The demand for the skilled labour of rural workers showed slower growth rates that resulted in an increasing gap between supply and demand. The research proves that education and qualification of rural workers are being underutilized, and the scale of education-occupation mismatch has been rather big. The most obvious contradiction between education underutilization and its non-purpose use - when people do not work in accordance with their specialization - refer to the workers with technical and agricultural training.

The sphere of hotel service is unique, because the staff is apart of the hotel product. Often it is difficult to distinguish the material part of the product from its spiritual component. The stuff that supplies services is the most important component of these services. The same services can be supplied in different ways, because the personnel of the hotel serves customers differently. The stuff has to receive visitors in such way that he would become a regular customer. It constitutes the main advantage of accommodation. The staff relations must be arranged in such manner that the staff would perform labour in all levels of organization structure with the conscious that their professional activity and the service atmosphere which they create are forming the conscience of the customer. Highly qualified stuff recruitment is a very important question in any sphere of activity. The hotel sphere is not an exclusion. The owners of the hotels should recruit the stuff without overlooking highly qualified specialists. The staff of the hotel is the face of the establishment and it is very important to be sure that the employee performs his labour qualitatively and is polite enough towards the guests etc. The more competent recruitment implies that the hotel gets more favorable responses and consequently more guests. The well matched highly qualified stuff is the keystone to success. The article comprises the analysis of the labour market state in the sphere of hospitality industry.
