Author(s):
Inna V. Boeva

In the article, the author discusses andragogic features in the system of teaching foreign languages in conditions of continuing education, based on the practice of teaching Spanish to adult learners on courses based on the North-Ossetian State University named after K.L. Khetagurov, in the framework of additional education. In order to eliminate the “incompatibility” which arises in adults after receiving their basic education, many adults are enrolled in various retraining or advanced-level courses to meet the demands of the developing modern world. In addition, the article speaks of the growing popularity of the Spanish language. This is due to changes in political, economic and social life. The article points out some difficulties that arise in the teaching of a foreign language, such as previous experience in the study of a foreign language, social duties, a material component, professional experience and others. The basic requirements for a foreign language course for adults are considered. To maximize the effectiveness of the course, it is recommended to work with such a programme, which takes into account the peculiarities of adult learners. The programme should aim at the quickest possible use of the speaking skills of learners. Also in the work the peculiarities of application of andragogical principles in adult education are indicated. The principle of “cooperation” of the teacher with adult students in the classes affects the quality of the educational process. However, the role of the teacher is important in this context, since he is the head of the training process. Despite the above mentioned difficulties in the adult learning process, motivation can significantly affect the final positive result of mastering the language.

The transmission of information is one of the most accessible common phenomena in the modern world. For the convenient dissemination of scientific knowledge, it is enough to use the virtual environment of the Internet. Technologies of the present time make it possible to freely use the computer and the web space for learning at any level, either at a school or university. Open access to learning is essential for today's society, which strives to meet the growing demand for education, regardless of location of educational process. Distance learning technologies make it possible to reach large groups of people in remote areas of the country, people with different forms of disabilities and those who, for whatever reason, are not able to study in person. Teaching foreign languages, in particular Russian as a foreign language, today takes place with the help of modern programs that facilitate classes in direct interaction with the teacher or independently. Therefore, when building a model of teaching Russian as a foreign language using distance technologies, it is very important to create an educational language environment that includes teaching materials, a set of tasks, the organization of student communication not only in asynchronous, but also in synchronous, including voice, modes. The article discusses the use of distance platforms for learning foreign languages, highlights the functions of a teacher in organizing the process of teaching Russian as a foreign language using distance technologies. The article proposed by the author reflects the work of the founders of the theory of distance learning in Russian as a foreign language E.G. Azimova, L.A. Dunaeva, O.I. Rudenko-Morgun, A.N. Bogomolov. The author of the article defines the criteria for the selection of linguodidactic materials using distance technologies and the specifics of the task system. The research carried out within the framework of this article allows us to conclude that distance learning should not and cannot replace traditional education. The use of distance technologies can increase the motivation of students to learn, their responsibility, the level of self-realization, as well as form communication skills and cultural competence.

Violence and aggression has become common phenomena in modern world, they include almost all fields of social life. The reflection of problems the society copes with, is visible in the way of perceiving the educational values by pupils and their behaviour at school. The nature of the educational process organised by school is mainly the interactions among teachers and pupils and pupils themselves. They are not always the best. The anxiety among guidance counsellors and psychologists raises the fact that the cooperation rule and mutual help are replaced by the rule of dominance, extortion and force. The cases of ignoring the teacher's orders are more and more common, lack of respect towards the teaching staff, humiliating adults and vandalism. Pupils battle against teachers and peers too. The school hall is a kind of arena of undesirable behaviours. Therefore, the school as an institution in which children and young people spend 1/3 of their time during the day, should not only deal with teaching but take an active part in the implementation of activities in the field of broadly understood prevention and upbringing. Therefore there are challenges in front of the school aiming at stopping, limiting or even eliminating negative behaviours from children's and teenagers' lives.

The article analyzes modern methods of teaching a foreign language and justifies the expediency of their use in technical institutions of higher education. The process of teaching English in non-linguistic higher educational institutions has certain features related to the different initial level of language training of first-year students; the number of academic hours allocated to the study of this discipline; the quantitative composition of groups; low motivation to learn a foreign language. It is noted that motivation plays an important role in the educational process, the formation of which among students of technical universities should be one of the main tasks of the educational process. It is established that it is possible to significantly increase the effectiveness of the lesson provided that the content of the discipline "foreign language" is professionally oriented in technical universities. It is found that the use of interactive learning technologies involves the use of communicative, in particular cognitive-communicative, and constructivist methods of teaching a foreign language. It is proved that the use of innovative approaches to teaching English and multimedia teaching tools allows students to increase motivation to learn foreign languages, provide access to new, alternative sources of information, develop independent mental activity, form communication skills, cultural and professional competence.
