This article presents the results of a research study aimed to explore and analyze the configuration process and current situation of educational policies for foreign students in Chile and the Autonomous Community of Catalonia. From a qualitative approach, and based on a comparative documentary study, an integral vision of the scenario of policies and instruments of public action for the schooling of foreign students was built in both contexts. The results show more contrasts than similarities. Among the differences, the different configuration processes of these actions are highlighted, where the evolution of the migratory phenomenon and the characteristics of their political and educational systems influence. They also contrast the areas addressed by these actions and the ways in which inclusive education for foreign students is materialized. The most relevant similarity is the incorporation of inclusive education and intercultural education as central approaches of both educational systems and of the actions in favor of the schooling of these students. The value of the comparative study lies in the extensive and in-depth look at the development of educational policies and public action instruments to address the accelerated flow of migrants in school systems.

Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) is a recently developed qualitative approach, not only in psychology but also in pedagogy. It turns out that not all IPA studies meet the indicated criteria of acceptability developed by Jonathan A. Smith (2011). The aim of this article is to present a set of criteria to evaluate IPA papers and to provide high-quality future research. The article is divided into three parts: first, I am going to focus on indicating limitations of pedagogical research in which IPA was used, later I shall go on to give examples of good practice. In the last section, I have correlated particular stages of research with the criteria of validity to show what makes IPA study excellent. I also formulate two main requisites for making high-quality IPA study.

The main task at the present stage is the formation of mediation as a type of professional activity.  That is why, the study of the views of domestic and foreign scientists regarding the features of the professional activity of a mediator is an integral part of the qualitative implementation of the institution of mediation in Ukraine as a whole, and provides an opportunity to improve the level of professional training of future mediation specialists in accordance with the requirements of the present. Due to the tendency to use private legal mechanisms for resolving private disputes in private disputes, we consider it necessary to develop a doctrinal non-jurisdictional way of resolving private disputes, namely mediation.  The mediation procedure is an organized procedure with the participation of a mediator, assists the parties in resolving a dispute and making a decision for both parties. The main difference between family mediation and other types of dispute resolution, in the context of the development of the education system, is its non-directiveness.  Mediation only uses the law, in contrast to the traditional methods based on legal regulation.  A flexible and democratic way of resolving disputes based on the voluntary participation of the parties creates conditions for the parties to control not only the development and decision-making process, but also the quality of this decision, guaranteeing them complete confidentiality, ensuring the preservation of their reputation and the possibility of constructive interaction in the future. Now in Ukraine, a stage of formation of a professional community of mediators and a consumer niche is underway, which indicates that Ukrainian mediation is currently at the initial stage of its institutionalization.

EXPERIENCE OF MEDIATORS IN THE FAMILY MEDIATION PROCESS IN THE CASES OF VIOLENCE IN PARTNER RELATIONSHIPS ABSTRACT The paper presents the experience of mediators in the family mediation process in the cases of violence in partner relationships based on the results of a research conducted in seven social welfare centres in which twelve experts adequately trained for the implementation of family mediation participated. The aim of the research was to describe and analyse the experience of the mediators in the family mediation process with the partners who had experienced violence and to determine the possibility of its application in such cases. The qualitative approach was used, and the procedure of topic analysis was used. The research results show that the mediators point out some specific features of the management of the mediation process with the partners who have experienced violence with regard to the safety of the process, establishment of the balance of power and a constructive dialogue of the parties in mediation, which demands the mediators to apply certain techniques and skills. Additionally, the results of the research indicate that the mediators perceive the possibility to implement family mediation with the partners who have experienced violence and that, apart from the basic prerequisites for the implementation of mediation, they emphasise the necessity to recognise the specific prerequisites, such as the time distance from violence, the influence of violence on the victim, creation of safe conditions, good level of the mediators’ education and the application of some procedures which should be conducted in terms of the assessment of violence, safety and selection of the mediation model. Key words: family mediation, violence in partner relationships, experience of mediators, description of the mediation process, possibility to conduct family mediation.
