The article presents the results of an assessment that considers the prevalence and severity of emotional burnout among imams. The study involved 30 imams attending Advanced training courses at Russian Islamic Institute. All the participants were of a masculine gender between the ages of 32 and 55 and who have been imams for 10 up to 28 years. To identify and assess the level of a burnout syndrome in the study, we used the following questionnaires and methodologies: «Rapid assessment of burnout» by V. Capponi, T. Novak, MBI questionnaire by K. Maslach, S. Jackson in the adaptation of N.E. Vodopyanova, a methodology by V.V. Boyko for diagnosing the level of emotional burnout. Analysis of the study results revealed that the majority of imams examined revealed the signs of burnout, although not severe, closer to emotional exhaustion and depersonalization syndrome. This fact displays the need of conducting corrective and preventive measures for preventing the further development of the syndrome.

The aim of the study is to prove that the regulation of the magnitude of the risks of emotional burnout syndrome (SEV) in persons in hazardous occupations (OP) can influence the processes of the emergence and formation of SEV. Materials and methods of research. All the examined persons of hazardous occupations (296 people) who had different degrees of probability of occurrence (PVV) of burnout syndrome were divided into 2 subgroups: the 1st subgroup, in which no corrective measures were carried out – 87 people, including 12 people with PVV1, 25 people with PVV2, 25 people with PVV3, 25 people with PVV4 and the 2nd subgroup, in which complex recovery measures were carried out – 209 people, of them with PVV1-20 people, with PVV2 – 58, with PVV3 – 30, with PVV4 – 101 people, where PVV1 is the highest, and PVV4 is the lowest degree of probability of SEV occurrence. Recovery activities were of complex character and included: group classes (lectures) and individual consultations; prevention of occupational risks – a profession-related analysis of activities and recommendations for their optimization; corrective and recovery activities using the devices "Alfaria" and ASIR. Evaluation of the effectiveness of measures was carried out using the device UPFT-1/30-"Psychophysiologist", which allows to determine the parameters of the functional state of the vegetative nervous system, the nature and features of adaptive activity of the body; the effectiveness and adequacy of specific therapeutic and corrective measures, as well as-using the Giessen questionnaire – to assess the presence of psychosomatic disorders. Research results and their analysis. Carrying out comprehensive preventive measures at the early stages of the first signs of SEV in OP individuals (risk management) will help to minimize or level the risks of the occurrence and further development of this syndrome. A set of preventive measures to regulate the risks of SEV in OP individuals can be the basis for further development and improvement of methods and tools for regulating the risks of SEV in various professional contingents and groups.

The article is important because the problem of emotional burnout is particularly actual one for health professionals in Ukraine and around the world at the moment. The medical staffs of medical departments are exposed to excessive stress on a daily basis in the course of their professional activities due to constant and direct contact with patients who need urgent care or are in a critical psychological state. These circumstances in most cases cause negative emotions, excessive mental stress and physical fatigue. The article purpose was to study of the syndrome of “emotional burnout” and the peculiarities of its manifestation in health professionals depending on gender. The conducted empirical study was devoted to the psychological manifestations of medical workers’ emotional burnout among (depending on genders); it was organised in 2020. The special socio-psychological study included 60 medical workers (30 women-nurses and 30 male doctors) with 5 or more years of experience working in medical institutions in Kyiv. The following psychological techniques were used in the empirical study: V.V. Boyko’s method determining the level of "emotional burnout"; J. Greenberg’s method studying burnout; Maslach Burnout Inventory for “person – person” professions; S.A. Budassi’s method for self-assessment; Cattell 16PF Questionnaire. The study results allowed us to draw the following conclusions. Analyzing the link between gender and emotional burnout, we should say that women in a stressful situation are more prone to psychosomatic and psychovegetative disorders, and men are prone to personal alienation (depersonalization). In addition, women’s syndrome is manifested not only through “resistance” symptoms - inadequate selective emotional response and reduction of professional responsibilities, but also through experienced traumatic circumstances - a symptom of the "stress" phase, while men’s emotional burnout unfolds only via the “resistance” symptoms. Prospects for further research: to consider the problem of burnout factors appeared at medical workers’ professional path in a new perspective. Based on the obtained results, we can say that many of the studied health professionals needed specialized psychological care to overcome the emotional burnout syndrome.

The article revises the issue of studying foreign experience in improving the professional development of teaching staff. Remarks are made on the need to modernise the system of advanced training of pedagogical and research-pedagogical staff. Updating the system of advanced training, the creation of new structures is one of the priority directions of state policy in any country; it is aimed at ensuring the professional growth of a specialist. The achievement of a new quality of education is associated with the reorientation of education for preparing people for life, for solving the issues related to guaranteed employment, for the requirements of a fleeting society and technological changes. Education is viewed as a lifelong process that needs not only to be corrected, but also changed and transformed. The main features of advanced training have been analysed; the peculiarities of advanced training intended for research-pedagogical staff in such foreign countries as the USA, Great Britain and Germany have been investigated. The author emphasises that postgraduate pedagogical education in these countries is distinguished by a structural diversity, a variety of content, forms and methods of education, which is grounded by the specific features of the countries’ historical development, national traditions and priorities of educational needs of research-pedagogical staff (RPS). At the same time, external factors significantly influence the systems that have formed in modern Ukraine: the processes of globalisation of society, the internationalisation of education, the activities of international organisations that accumulate progressive pedagogical ideas and put forward urgent requirements for its improvement. As the author notes, in Ukraine, the work to improve the system of advanced training of domestic RPS, as well as in other countries, is carried out in all directions, using modern forms and methods. However, the author singles out two problems: 1) unsatisfactory technical support; 2) some resistance to innovation due to the human factor. The author sees the further development of the subject in expanding the range of studied countries, studying the content of advanced training courses and in analysing advanced training programs intended for research-pedagogical staff.

Objective: To gauge the prevalence of burnout among postgraduate trainees and consultants working in psychiatry department, Services Hospital Lahore, Pakistan. Methods: 31 trainee and consultant psychiatrists in Services Hospital Lahore, Pakistan participated in this cross-sectional study. Abbreviated Maslach Burnout Inventory (aMBI) measured burnout. It consisted of 9 items, relating to emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal accomplishment. Each item is scored on a seven-point Likert scale. For Emotional Exhaustion and Depersonalization, higher scores predicted greater burnout; Personal Accomplishment demonstrated the opposite, hence its scores were inverted. Participants with moderate scores in 2 or more dimensions were identified as suffering from burnout syndrome. Data was analyzed by SPSS 25.0. Result: Mean age of participants was 34.87 ± 8.06 years. 52% were female. 58% were consultants, with average experience of 7 years; 61% practiced in more than one place. 32.3% of participants had burnout syndrome. Emotional Exhaustion subscale showed the highest scores i.e. 7.06 ± 3.43. 71% of participants demonstrated moderate or high burnout in this scale. Average Depersonalization score was 2.94 ± 2.42, while that for Personal Accomplishment was 3.29 ± 2.25. Conclusion: A significant portion of the sample reported moderate and high level of emotional exhaustion. On the contrary, we found low levels of depersonalization in the sample. Most psychiatrists reported adequate levels of personal achievement. These results are reassuring because, despite the presence of emotional burnout, psychiatrists still have capacity to empathize and provide adequate patient care. Summary Objective: To determine the prevalence of burnout syndrome among resident physicians of various specialties and to evaluate associated factors. Method: The Maslach Burnout Inventory questionnaire and a sociodemographic questionnaire were used to evaluate factors associated with the syndrome. Burnout was defined as the association of high emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and low professional achievement. Multivariate analysis was performed after adjustment of the Poisson model with the identification of risk factors and calculation of prevalence ratios (PR). Of the 250 resident physicians registered with Hospital das Clínicas of Pernambuco, 129 participated in the study. Results: In the three domains that characterize burnout syndrome, we found a low level of professional achievement in 94.6% of resident physicians interviewed, a high level of depersonalization in 31.8%, and 59.7% with a high level of emotional exhaustion. The prevalence of burnout was 27.9%. Having suffered a stressful event in the last six months (PR: 8.10; 95CI 1.2-57.2) and being a student of surgical specialty (PR: 1.99; 95CI 1.2-3.3) were independently associated with burnout. Conclusion: The prevalence of burnout found in resident physicians is in accordance with previous Brazilian studies. Residents of surgical specialties and those who suffered some stressful event were identified as susceptible in this study. The early identification of risk factors is fundamental for the implementation of preventive measures against burnout syndrome.

This article touches on the problem of burnout, which is caused by stress in every job, and is manifested in physical and mental exhaustion, a tendency to irritation and boredom. Occurrence of burnout in a working person will be associated with individual personality traits and functioning in the workplace. The purpose of the work is to determine to what extent the studied group was affected by occupational burnout. The study was conducted on 23 female nurses working in the Psychiatric Department of the Specialist Hospital in Częstochowa. Christina Maslach's occupational burnout questionnaire was used for the purpose of the study. The questionnaire consists of 22 closed questions and two yes or no answers. Subjects completed the anonymous survey questionnaire. The entire group of respondents was examined in three aspects of burnout: emotional burnout, depersonalization and job satisfaction. The rate of emotional exhaustion was 80%, depersonalization 64%, professional satisfaction 68%. The index of occupational burnout syndrome among nurses of the Psychiatric Ward of the Specialist Hospital in Częstochowa is high. It is difficult to assess how much it threatens the functioning of individuals. There is no doubt that remedial and preventive measures should be taken as soon as possible, not only by the individual but also by the employer. Burnout can affect anyone who over-exploits their strength at work for the benefit of others, without caring for their own mental health.
