The article considers the general principles and prospects of transport logistics in Ukraine, defines the directions of development and measures for its improvement. The main problems and challenges that hinder the growth and efficient operation of transport logistics are highlighted. The analysis of cargo transportation by types of transport was carried out, and the index of logistics efficiency of Ukraine was determined. It is concluded that gradual, purposeful integration of the transport complex of Ukraine into the world transport system through the development of international transport corridors can provide not only additional revenues to the budget, but also stimulate investment activity, improvement of transportation technologies, transport infrastructure of the country as a whole and economic development of the regions.

The South Caucasus region is characterized by the presence of frozen conflicts, the activation of impending threats. For security and stability problematic is the important factor that the countries in the region have adopted a diametrically different security and defense strategies, policy of joining the centers of power and allies. Continuing development of defense capabilities is a logical choice for Armenia, which follows from the aims of the state and public security, and the maintenance and, if necessary, even the world compulsion. To achieve these objectives in the Republic of Armenia is carried out the process, which called the Strategic Defense Review.

The construction of the Primorsky No. 1 and No. 2 international transport corridors is of great strategic significance to China and Russia. These corridors will solve the problem of the absence of an estuary in Northeast China by sailing from Russian ports and concurrently greatly improve Russia’s position in the world’s transport system. However, existing research studies mainly focus on the strategic significance of these corridors, while research studies on the identification, evaluation, and mitigation policies of their construction risks are rare, which inhibits the construction progress. To promote the construction of these corridors, we firstly identify the main risks in the construction of these corridors, which are economic, transport infrastructure-related, policy-related, eco-environmental, and disaster-related risks. Then, we establish a comprehensive evaluation system, and by applying the entropy method, we quantitatively evaluate the degrees of risks in regions along the transport corridors, reveal their spatial distribution patterns, and identify the key prevention and control regions for these risks. Afterwards, we propose targeted mitigation policies such as establishing innovative cooperation modes and a special foundation to mitigate economic risk and formulate further regional development policies to mitigate policy-related risk. This research will provide scientific support for risk prevention and control for the construction of these corridors.

The article discusses the development of transport infrastructure in the Republic of Kazakhstan. This topic is especially relevant to our country with the huge territory and irregular allocation of resources and population. The article analyzes the main indicators of transport infrastructure development, which made it possible to assess its current state. The state of infrastructure is also reflected to the international rankings of the country's competitiveness, so the authors analyzed the World Economic Forum's Global Competitiveness Index by the Infrastructure factor and the World Bank's Logistics Performance Index. Based on the PESTLE analysis, the key environmental factors influencing the functioning and development of the transport industry in Kazakhstan were identified. These facts indicate the need to further improve the policy of transport and infrastructure development of Kazakhstan and develop more effective mechanisms for its implementation.

: Relying on the experience of the “lost decade”, Japan emerged from the world economic crisis of 2008–2009. faster compared to other developed countries. But full-scale national anti-crisis programs, the main of which in the real sector of the economy were transport infrastructure projects, inevitably put a heavy burden on the country’s budget. Since 2010, the economy has shown signs of recovery. However, the Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011 caused huge damage to the entire Japanese economy and transport in the Tohoku region. It entailed significant costs for the restoration of transport. Since 1990, the share of transport in GDP and the structure of goods transported by individual modes of transport have remained the same: road and sea coastal transport played a major role in domestic transportation, while maritime transport played a major role in international transport. The importance of rail transport in passenger transportation has been preserved and even increased. Transport fully met the needs of the economy and was one of the means of bringing the economy out of the crisis. The ocean of economic and natural shocks that befell Japan made the inhabitants of this country look in a new way at the prospects for the development of transport. The new strategy for innovative development provides not so much an increase in speed, but rather the reliability, safety and environmental friendliness of transport. Implementation of the achievements of the 4.0 revolution has become an urgent need. The entire economy of the country and its place in the world economy to a large extent depend on the pace of transition to a new model of transport.

The article analyses Eurasian international transport corridors from three perspectives: historical patterns and contemporary geopolitical struggle in Eurasia, post-Soviet political transformations and Eurasian integration. On the one hand, the development of transport infrastructure contributes to the power of Russia as the main continental power. On the other hand, it provides access for players from outside of Eurasia and helps peoples and nations of Eurasia to engage in the world system, thus disrupting the continental power’s monopoly on the region’s resources. After the dissolution of the USSR Russia’s strategic shift to openness resonated with globalization. This gave an impetus to the development of the continental transport system. The West anticipated to underpin political sovereignty of post-Soviet states with their greater economic independence from Russia by trade diversification and avoiding transit through Russia. However, the EU was also interested in creating a transport corridor to Asian states through Russia. Post-soviet states wanted to be integrated into the world trade system, and saw close ties with Russia as an obstacle. Thus, trade system diversification became one of their foreign policy main objectives, they supported both transcontinental and transregional infrastructure projects, viewing themselves as belts, connecting Europe and Asia. The “One belt, One road” initiative was most welcomed in the post-Soviet space as another tool for increased connectivity with the outside world. Although the EAEU and China have a common goal of developing Eurasian transport infrastructure, they may have political differences in the future. The EAEU states act as transit countries, while China is the main client of the infrastructure and will be interested in lower transit fees. Russia is ultimately interested in integrating and consolidating the post-Soviet space as an economic entity. Although connected to the outside world it is also deemed as substantially autonomous in strategic terms. At the same time, other international players, the West and China alike, as well post-Soviet states themselves, are more focused on connecting to the outside as an alternative to Russia’s influence in the region. Industrial parks are one of the most widely used regional policy tools in the world, aimed at promoting investment and economic growth and reducing social exclusion. The rational layout of the parks, taking into account the accessibility of transport infrastructure and the availability of work force, helps to achieve this goal. Otherwise, the creation of the park may not produce the desired result and the investment in the project will not be justified. The authors analyse the spatial distribution of industrial parks in Lithuania, as well as their supply. In order to achieve this goal, a comprehensive review of the scientific literature was carried out, the types and features of the most common parks in the world were identified, and a map of the spatial distribution of industrial parks in Lithuania was compiled using GIS. The object of the research is limited to the territory of the Republic of Lithuania and its regions.
