This study aimed to determine the effect of maternal empowerment on improving fish consumption patterns to increase protein intake, calcium, zinc, and Z-score height by age when stunting children. The type of this research is Quasi-Experimental with pre and post-test control group design. The results showed an increase in maternal knowledge, increased intake of protein, calcium, and zinc as well as an increase in TB scores / After the intervention in the case group, compared to the control group, there were no differences in protein, calcium intake and Z-score TB / U, an increase in maternal empowerment increased intake of children stunting and the same as intake of children not stunting. Conclusion There is a significant difference in the average value of protein intake, calcium, zinc, and Z-score before and after providing maternal empowerment interventions to improve fish consumption patterns in children aged 13-36 months.   Keywords: Intake, Calcium, Maternal Empowerment, Protein, Zinc, Stunting, Z-Score TB / U

Mother Inadequacy of production stopping breastfeeding early, the mother feels that she does not have sufficient milk production to meet the needs of the baby and supports adequate baby weight gain due to inadequate milk production. This research was conducted using a quasi-experimental research design with a non-randomized posttest design without a control group design. The sample in this study was postpartum mothers for less than 40 days who breastfeed with a total sample of 30 people, divided into the case group of 15 respondents and in the control group as many as 15 respondents. Data collection was carried out by giving treatment, namely a combination of breast care with lavender aromatherapy, and observing milk production after treatment. Data analysis using independent sample T-test analysis. Based on the results of the treatment group, it was obtained an average value of 16.2 and an average value of the Control group of 12.4, the two groups had an average difference of 3.7 with a Sig value of 0.022 less than 0.05. It can be stated that there is a significant difference in milk production between the intervention and control groups.

ABSTRACT Toilet training is an effort to train children to be able to control and urinate (BAK) and defecate (BAB). Toilet training is one of the main tasks of children at toddler age. Toilet training is one of the main tasks of children in toddler age which is very important to be done to create independence in children in controlling BAK and BAB and children know the parts of the body and their functions. Data in 2012 shows that ± 60% of parents do not teach toilet training to children from an early age. The aim of the study was to find out the effectiveness of toilet training education on maternal behavior and toilet skills in toddler age training (18-36 months). The study was conducted in July-August 2018. This type of quantitative research used the design of the Quasy pretest and posttest experiment with non-equivalent control group design. Samples were 36 mothers and 36 children with purposive sampling technique. Data analysis used Paired t test, Wilcoxon test, Man-Whitney test an Independent t test. The results showed that toilet training education through lecture methods, modules and maze games was more effective than toilet training education through lecture and leaflet methods on children's knowledge and abilities. Conversely, for the role of mothers in supervision there is no significant difference in effectiveness. Health education is recommended in health promotion programs to increase maternal knowledge, the role of mothers and the ability of toilet training children independently. Background: Salivary pH is one of factor which involved in caries development. Decreasing of salivary pH will cause enamel demineralization. Miswak (Salvadora persica) as a toothbrush because it has mechanical and chemical effects such as essential oil and bicarbonate which can stimulate salivary secretion. Thus, it will increase the buffer capacity and salivary pH lead to enamel remineralization. Objective: This study aimed to know the effect of toothbrushing with miswak (Salvadora persica) on salivary pH. Methods: The clinical experiment study with pre-test and post-test control group design. The sample of this study is the students of Faculty of Dentistry, Andalas University, Padang. There are 34 students that divided into two groups randomly that is case and control group. Case group used miswak while control group used conventional toothbrush, respectively brushing horizontally for 2 minutes. Salivary pH was measured using digital pH meter in scale of 0.0 to 14.0 with 0.1 sensitivity from pen type pH meter. The data analyzed by Shapiro-Wilk test continued by paired t-test and Mann-Whitney test. Results: paired t-test produced significant value p=0,001 in case group and p=0,000 in control group. Mann-Whitney test produced significant value p=0.317. There was no significant difference in statistic among these groups. Conclusion: Toothbrushing with miswak has effect on salivary pH. The lack of use the writing skills method raises several obstacles experienced by students, including weaknesses in understanding the basics of Arabic writing and difficulty in answering Arabic questions. Therefore, it is necessary to improve learning as an effort to improve writing skills by applying the imla’ manzur method. This research is an experimental study with a pretest-posttest control group design model, aimed at finding out the effectiveness of the imla’ manzur method. Data collection techniques in this study used observation, tests, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Then the validity of the data is tested using the independent sample t-test. The results obtained were that in the experimental class the mastery of Arabic writing skills of students after applying the imla’ manzur method had increased the average value from 52.08 to 78.57. Then, the results of the independent sample t-test showed a significant difference in the mastery of Arabic writing skills in the experimental class and the control class 0.000 < 0.05 after treatment, so that the conclusion of this study based on the data obtained showed that the application of the imla’ manzur method was effective in improving students Arabic writing skills. Evidenced by a significant increase in learning outcomes, student enthusiasm when taking turns to write vocabulary and sentences in Arabic on the board, as well as growing sensitivity of student analysis of Arabic writing skills.

In adolescents, the iron not only functions as energy metabolism in the body but also helps to improve learning achievement. Iron deficiency can lead to fatigue, and the concentration, memory and learning abilities can be disrupted. It can also lead to anemia, especially in young women. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of leaf moringa capsules on the hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls in Sabbihisma Junior High School. This research used a quasi method of pretest and posttest experiment with control group design. The sample of the study were 32 people, 16 cases (moringa leaf capsule) and 16 control groups. Data collection was done through observation and laboratory examination of hemoglobin levels before and after treatment. The data were tested with paired sample t-test. The results showed that there was a significant difference in female hemoglobin levels in the case group with p = 0,000, while the control group was not significant with p = 0,091.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the package of warning signs of bleeding pregnant women (tabahanmil) on the knowledge, attitudes and skills of pregnant women in preventing bleeding in Bayan District, Purworejo Regency. The type of quantitative research with Quasi experimental research design, pretest-posttest with control group design. The results of bivariate analysis found that the intervention group after being given a tabahanmil package significantly affected compared to the control group that was not given a tabahanmil package on knowledge, attitudes, and skills, each of which has a p value = 0,000 less than 0.05. Conclusion, there is a significant difference from the average value of knowledge, attitudes, and skills of pregnant women in preventing bleeding in the intervention group and the control group.   Keywords: Pregnant Women, Skills, Preventing Bleeding, Knowledge, Attitudes

Abstract. This research is motivated by the low writing skills of poetry. This is characterized by students' poetry writing skills that are not productive, still informative, students are still difficult to express their ideas, and are less attractive to students because they only use one technique. One learning technique that can improve poetry writing skills is mind mapping techniques. Mind mapping is also a learning technique to stimulate students' imagination in generating ideas, recording and summarizing using mind mapping. This study aims to examine the effect of Mind Mapping Technique on Poetry Writing Skills of students in elementary school.This study was an experimental study of Quasi Experimental Design with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were all fifth grade students of class V. Sampling is done by saturated sample technique (total sampling), namely VB class as an experimental class and VA class as a control class. The experimental class consisted of 34 students and the control class consisted of 36 students. The instrument used to determine the effect of mind mapping techniques is observation and documentation. The experimental class was treated by using mind mapping techniques in poetry writing skills while the control class without using mind mapping techniques.Based on the results of the pretest obtained the average value of the experimental class 60 and the average value of the control class 64.2. From the results of the comparison of the two sample classes, there was a difference in value of 3.7, so it can be concluded that there is no significant difference between the two pretest grades, meaning that the two classes have the same initial ability. Next, learning was conducted using mind mapping techniques in the experimental class and learning without mind mapping techniques in the control class. After learning is given then in both classes posttest is conducted. For the experimental class obtained an average value of 82 and for the control class obtained an average value of 77.5. From the results of testing hypotheses with a significant level of 0.05 obtained a significant value of 0,000 because sig. <α, the hypothesis is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is an effect of using mind mapping techniques on students' poetry writing skills in elementary school. Keywords: Mind Mapping Techniques, Writing Skills, Poetry

This research is motivated by the lack of students in poetry writing skills. This study aims to determine the effect ofmedia Big Book on poetry writing skills as well as differences in poetry writing skills between groups of students who take thelearning media Big Book and groups of students who take conventional learning. This research is a quasi-experimental design with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample in this study were students in class IVA with a total of 20 students and students in class IVB with a total of 20 students, students of SD Negeri Kalapadua I, Lemahsugih Sub-district, Majalengka Regency, who were determined by simple random sampling technique by lottery. Data collection techniques through written tests using the Process Worksheet (LKP), observation sheets and documentation. Analysis of the data used is qualitative data and quantitative data. Qualitative data were obtained from teacher and student observation sheets and quantitative data were analyzed through statistical description tests, normality tests and Mann-Whitney tests or U tests. Based on the results of data analysis, it showed that: 1) there were significant differences in the initial ability of poetry writing skills between experimental classes and control class. But it can be seen from the results of the average value that the experimental class data of 34.00 lower than the average value of the overall control class of 42.00 can be said that the initial ability of the control class is better than the experimental class before the treatment is given. 2) there is a significant difference in poetry writing skills between classes using big book media and those applying conventional learning that is Sig. (2-tailed) 0,000 <0.05.   Abstrak Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya siswa dalam keterampilan menulis puisi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh media Big Book terhadap keterampilan menulis puisi  serta perbedaan keterampilan menulis puisi antara kelompok siswa yang mengikuti media pembelajaran Big Book dengan kelompok siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian ini merupakan kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Desain. Sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas IVA dengan jumlah 20 siswa dan siswa kelas IVB dengan jumlah siswa 20, siswa SD Negeri Kalapadua I Kecamatan Lemahsugih Kabupaten Majalengka yang ditentukan dengan teknik simple random sampling dengan cara undian. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui tes tertulis menggunakan Lembar Kerja Proses (LKP), lembar observasi dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu data kualitatif dan data kuantitatif. Data kualitatif diperoleh dari lembar observasi guru dan siswa dan data kuantitaif dianalisis melalui uji deskripsi statistik, uji normalitas dan uji Mann-Whitney atau uji U. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa : 1) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan kemampuan awal keterampilan menulis puisi antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Tetapi dapat dilihat dari hasil nilai rata-rata bahwa data kelas eksperimen sebesar 34,00 lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan nilai rata – rata kelas kontrol secara keseluruhan sebesar 42,00 dapat dikatakan bahwa kemampuan awal kelas kontrol lebih baik dibandingkan dengan kelas eksperimen sebelum diberikannya perlakuan. 2) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap keterampilan menulis puisi antara kelas yang menggunakan media big book dengan yang menerapkan pembelajaran konvensional yaitu nilai Sig. The objective of the research is to find out the effectiveness of the application of guided inquiry learning models to student learning outcomes. The research method used quasi-experimental with a nonequivalent control group design type. The population covered 34 students with saturated sampling technique with a sample of 34 students. The research instrument used test questions and documentation studies as well as data analysis techniques using the independent t-test and effect size test. The results of the study showed that the application of guided inquiry-based learning models with scientific-based worksheets on the learning outcomes of Class VI natural science at SDI Bakunase Kupang was effective, in which the average test score of the control class was smaller than the experimental class at 68.24 <79.41 and based on the value of sig. (2-tailed)> α that is 0.001 <0.05, then there was a significant difference in the average value between the control class and the experimental class and the effect size test results was 0.85. Therefore, it can be concluded that the application of the guided inquiry learning model based on LKS based Scientific is effective towards the learning outcomes of Class VI Natural Sciences at SDI Bakunase Kupang.
