The initial evaluation of the patient's condition with pneumonia is a very important assistance action. The objective was evaluate the relationship between the frequency and quality of the stratification process of the patient with pneumonia, and the execution of suggestions of intrahospitalary location and the initial antimicrobial treatment of stratification instrument. A descriptive study was done on a population of 1,809 patients hospitalized during 10 years. The indexes of intrahospitalary location and of antimicrobian initial treatment were analized according to the suggestions of the instrument; in the statistical analysis it was used the odds ratio and the statistician X2, with a significant level of 95%. The intrahospitalary location was in agreement with the suggestion of the instrument in 96% of the cases, with the lowest value in patients with serious pneumonia and high recovery probabilities (82%, p <,05). The frequency of intrahospitalary location was bigger and veryfied with the suggestion of the instrument in the termed well stratified patients (p <,05), fundamentally in the patients with serious pneumonia and high recovery probabilities. The correspondence of the initial antimicrobial treatment with the proposal of the instrument was of 61%; the stratum IIIA showed the highest value (80%, p <,05). As conclusions, a high performance in the execution of the suggestion of the intrahospitalary location has been one of the characteristics of the process, although as a negative element it stands out the frequent non-fulfillment of the suggestion of the initial antimicrobial treatment. There was a relationship between the stratification process and the execution of the suggestion of the intrahospitalary location.

SummaryA number of studies evaluating deep venous thrombosis (DVT) have demonstrated that plasma levels of thrombotic and fibrinolytic parameters change during treatment, but the relationship between thrombus regression and evolution of these markers remains unknown. The objective of the present study was to correlate levels of D-Dimer (DD) with thrombus regression as assessed by duplex scanning. From 44 patients treated for acute DVT, DD were determined at diagnosis and at the end of initial heparin therapy of at least 5 days. Thrombus regression was measured by repeated duplex scanning at diagnosis and after 1 and 3 months.DD significantly decreased during heparin treatment as compared with values at presentation. DD levels were significantly higher in the group of patients without normalization of the DVT after 3 months (p = 0.003). A ninefold excess tendency was seen for DD levels > 1200 ng/ml at the end of initial treatment to be associated with poor resolution of the DVT [odds ratio 9.0, 0.95 confidence interval (CI) 2.3-35.4]. When the patients with an established malignancy were excluded, the differences were even more significant (p = 0.0004 for DD levels after initial treatment and an odds ratio of 17.5, 0.95 CI 3.3-92.5).These results suggest that increased DD levels after the initial phase of treatment are related to poor resolution of DVT after 3 months. These findings contribute to further insight into the process of thrombus regression. Furthermore high DD levels might help to identify the patients with a poor prognosis and could be useful to judge the efficacy of anticoagulant treatment.

Fusarium oxysporum (F. oxysporum) is the pathogen that caused fusarium wilt diseases on the tomatoes. The rise of the symptom was caused by secondary metabolic produced by F. oxysporum. The associated with the level of secondary metabolic pathogenesis that cause symptoms of wilt on tomatoes, but secondary metabolic excreted by F. oxysporum was not necessarily wilt in a plant. The phenomenon caused F. oxysporum producing secondary metabolic in the different concentration, either its quantity or quality. The nature of physiology being tested, observed by growing 4 isolates using a medium PDA on the temperature of 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 °C. The content of secondary metabolic measured on the four isolates using the Notz et al., (2002) and analyzed by using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The results of the analysis of the nature of the physiological (colour colonies) were that every isolate planted for 8 days shows the variation of white, white redness, white yellowness until purpleness. Based on Methuen Handbook of Colour (Kornerup & Wanscher, 1978), generally isolates tested shows a bright colour, signaled with A letter at every code. Analysis HPLC on the results of secondary metabolic, either quantity or quality, sequentially were: isolates BAR (3; 1,997 ppm); ENR (3; 5,105 ppm); SID (4; 2,135 ppm) and MAL (5; 2,065 rpm). If it was seen by the relationship between the colour of colonies with the production of the secondary metabolic compound, it seemed that the older or darker colonies’ colour the more secondary compounds formed, but dark or old colonies’ colour does not determine a high quality of acid fusaric produced. Keywords: Colonies colour, F. oxysporum, secondary metabolic .

Objective: The use of high-performance sports technology to describe the physiological load of stress and the quality of recovery in a population of executives during the workday. Methodology: Heart rate variability values were recorded during 48 h from which the relationship between stress/recovery quality (stress balance) was obtained for three differentiated time slots: work, after work, and night in a workday. Results: We observed a negative stress balance during the 24 h of measurement in the course of a workday, being negative at work and after work, and positive at night. The stress generated or maintained outside working hours correlates significantly with a lower quality of recovery during the 24 h workday. Conclusions: It is necessary to prioritize strategies that help improve stress management in executives through the improvement of tools and strategies that mainly promote greater relaxation outside working hours.

The present study deals with the statistical analysis of physico-chemical parameters and cyanophycean members of two pond water quality of Chidambaram, Cuddalore district (Tamil Nadu). The qualities of pond water were analyzed for six months. Eleven important parameters were included in statistical analysis. The qualities of pond water have been assessed by calculating mean, standard deviation and correlation coefficient. Correlation studies of hydrobiology with physico-chemical parameters revealed that the relationship between phytoplankton density in general and that of the specific groups are highly complex and often controlled by interactions of different factors. In the both pond water the correlation coefficient test revealed that cyanophycean members positively correlated with temperature, pH, CO2, alkalinity, hardness, nitrate, BOD and COD at 1 % and 5 % level significant, where as it is negatively correlated with acidity and dissolved oxygen. In the present study it can be concluded that the cyanophycean members are highly tolerant organisms. They prefer to grow at higher temperatures and in highly alkaline, BOD and COD waters. Hence they can with stand high levels of contaminated waters of Thillai Kali Kovil pond, when compared to Ilamiyakkinar Kovil pond.

ABSTRACTObjectives: To investigate the quality of root fillings and coronal restorations and their association with periapical status in an adult Turkish subpopulation. Methods: A total of 400 subjects were examined. Panoramic radiographs of all participants and additional periapical radiographs of affected teeth were processed. The frequency of root canal treatment and the periapical status of all root filled teeth were evaluated. The relationship between the radiographic quality of root fillings and coronal restorations was examined by chi-squared statistical analysis. Results: A total of 9460 teeth were examined. The total number of root filled teeth was 890 (9.39%), and 658 (73.9%) had apical periodontitis (AP). There was a significant correlation between the presence of periapical pathology and inadequate root canal fillings (P <.05). Presence of AP in root filled teeth was associated with inadequate adaptation of the filling (OR=1.097; P=0.54), and with poor radiographic quality of the coronal restoration (OR=0.91; P=0.70), and with poor radiographic quality of the filling restoration (OR=0.97; P=0.92). Only 24.5% of the root fillings were adequate. The highest percentage of root fillings was found in maxillary right first molars (6.9%).Conclusions: The results demonstrate a low prevalence of root-filled teeth and poor quality of coronal restorations and root fillings consistent with a high prevalence of apical periodontitis in a Turkish subpopulation. Introduction. Loneliness is a universal phenomenon; timeless, supra-cultural, ahistorical, present in the life of every human being and it has become one of the signs of present times. According to the theory of withdrawals, the elderlies slowly retreat from social life and social roles hitherto performed, making themselves vulnerable to loneliness and isolation. Aim. Assessment of loneliness and selected determinants concerning loneliness and the evaluation of the relationship between a sense of loneliness and the quality of life among people over 65 years of age. Material and methods. The study was conducted in a group of 100 people over 65 years of age living in the Lublin province. The questionnaire consisted of two standardized research tools: De Jong Gierveld Loneliness Scale and instruments assessing quality of life WHOQOL-AGE. Results. The average result on the loneliness scale in the study group of people over 65 was 27.62 points out of 55 possible to obtain. The sociodemographic variables determining the level of loneliness in the study group were: age, marital status and the number of people living in the household (p < 0.05). The average value of the quality of life of the respondents was 64.45 points. (SD = 13.47). Statistical analysis of the relationship between quality of life and sense of loneliness showed significant strong negative correlations at the level of p < 0.001. Conclusions. The sense of loneliness is a strong determinant of the quality of life assessment in people over 65.
