Abstract. This journal discusses the development of variations in teaching in increasing learning motivation. The learning process is an activity that involves an individual (physical and spiritual), learning activities are never carried out without a strong motivation or motivation from within the individual or from outside the individual who participates in learning activities. Therefore, the learning process requires the development and use of variations in teaching to generate student motivation. Variations in teaching include variations in teaching styles, variations in media and materials, and variations in teaching and learning interactions. Motivation has a very important role in learning activities, there is no learning activity without motivation, therefore motivation has a strategic role in achieving the goals or results of learning. The research conducted at the XI IPS class at SMAN 1 Luhak Nan Duo aims to determine the relationship between learning interest and the use of textbooks with learning outcomes. This type of research is quantitative research with correlational methods. The instrument used in this study was a research questionnaire. The population is 130 students with samples randomly selected for 100 students. From the results of the analysis it can be concluded that: (1) Interest in learning and the use of textbooks have a positive and significant relationship together with learning outcomes seen from the Sig. F change 0,000 <0,05. (2) There is a positive and significant relationship between interest in learning and learning outcomes seen from the value of Sig. 0,000 <0,05. (3) There is a positive and significant relationship between the use of textbooks and learning outcomes of economic subjects seen from the Sig. 0,000 <0,05.Keyword : Interest in learning, utilization of textbooks, learning outcomes

This study investigated the relationship between second language (L2) speakers’ success in learning a new morphosyntactic pattern and characteristics of one-on-one learning activities, including opportunities to comprehend and produce the target pattern, receive feedback from an interlocutor, and attend to the meaning of the pattern through self- and interlocutor-initiated eye-gaze behaviors. L2 English students (N = 48) were exposed to the transitive construction in Esperanto (e.g., filino mordas pomon [SVO] or pomon mordas filino [OVS] “girl bites apple”) through comprehension and production activities with an interlocutor, receiving feedback in the form of recasts for their Esperanto errors. The L2 speakers’ interpretation and production of Esperanto transitives were then tested using known and novel lexical items. The results indicated that OVS test performance was predicted by the duration of self-initiated eye gaze to images illustrating the OVS pattern during the comprehension learning activity and by accurate production of OVS sentences during the production learning activity. The findings suggest important roles for eye-gaze behavior and production opportunities in L2 pattern learning.

Motivation to learn is a person’s desire to take part in the learning process. Students are motivated to do an activity for their personal gain to achieve satisfaction from the lessons or the feeling that their needs are fulfilled. During the COVID-19 pandemic, students were forced to shift to learning online. The motivation to study online is related to the student’s achievement. Learning achievement is used as an indicator of the student’s competence in the teaching materials. High achievement can be reached by persistence in learning, which is formed through the learning motivation that will direct the student’s behaviour towards achieving maximum learning achievement. This study aims to determine the relationship between learning motivation and student achievement in Prosthetic Orthotic Major at the Health Polytechnic Surakarta. It employs a quantitative research method using a correlation research design. The study used the Google Form Online Questionnaire as an instrument for data collection. The sample included 447 students of the Prosthetic Orthotic Major at the Health Polytechnic Surakarta. The results of the normality test showed that the data were not normally distributed. Hypothesis testing was carried out using Spearman’s test and obtained a significant value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a relationship between online learning motivation and student learning achievement. Kata Kunci: perpustakaan, pembelajaran bahasa Inggris, belajar mandiri, Self Access Center AbstractThe ultimate goal of learning English is the ability to use the target language. Unfortunately, formal education tends to use tradisional approach which focuses more on the language form instead of language use. This is triggered not only by the large class size but also by the limited time allocated for learning process in the class. In tertiary level where students are expected to be more independent in their learning, this problem should have been able to be solved by increasing the role and service of university library which supports self-directed independent learning. Library which can fulfill its functions well will be able to create the athmosphere of independent learning that assist learning process in the class. In addition, the establishment of a Self Access Center (SAC) in the library which enable students to learn according to their own needs and abilities will significantly increase students’ interest and motivation to learn independently so that the goal of learning English can be accomplished. Keywords: library, English learning, self-directed independent learning, Self Access Center

Science learning during COVID 19 pandemic had not been optimally implemented. This research aimed to discuss a new learning strategy, called science experimental accompanied by video tutorials as a distance learning innovation. A study literature method was used in this article. The experimental method was carried out in four stages, namely initial experiment, verification, concept application, and evaluation. This makes distance learning more effective and efficient. Students can develop thoughts, imaginations, and attitudes through exploration; foster interest and motivation to learn, and assisting in learning activities to achieve learning objectives without any limitations on distance and time. Demonstrations in this learning strategy can also be repeated and all students can understand the material.
