AbstractThis writing is intended to review a formation model on religious student character for tahfidz at Mathali’ul Huda Boarding School, Kajen. This study is important since the implementation of character education at educational institution existing in Indonesia requires a good model, and boarding school is assessed able to become a good model in implementing the character education especially for a religious character. There are numerous schools unable to become a place to transfer knowledge and to form character of its student. This research includes type of onsite research using a verificative qualitative approach where the research is directly conducted at Mathali’ul Huda Boarding School by presenting theory to become a frame to analyze the research finding outcome. Data collection method used is carried out through interview, observation and documentation. Meanwhile, this research finds that there are five stages on the formation of the religious student of tahfidz at Mathali’ul Huda Boarding School, namely: 1. stage on religious character value knowledge; 2. stage on religious character value awareness; 3. stage on religious character implementation; 4. religious character habituation; fifth, stage on long life religious character preservation. AbstrakTulisan ini mengkaji tentang model pembentukan karakter religius santri tahfidz di Pondok Pesantren Mathali’ul Huda Pusat Kajen. Kajian ini penting, karena implementasi pendidikan karakter di lembaga pendidikan yang ada di Indonesia membutuhkan good model, dan pesantren dinilai mampu menjadi model yang baik dalam mengimplementasikan pendidikan karakter khususnya karakter religius. Selama ini banyak sekolah belum mampu menjadi tempat untuk memindahkan pengetahuan sekaligus membentuk karakter peserta didiknya. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam jenis penelitian lapangan yang menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif verifikatif, dimana peneliti terjun secara langsung di Pondok Pesantren Mathali’ul Huda dengan membawa teori yang dijadikan frame untuk menganalisa hasil temuan penelitian. Tekhnik pengambilan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Adapun hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa ada lima tahapan pembentukan karakter religius santri tahfidz  di Pondok Pesantren Mathali’ul Huda Pusat, yaitu: 1. tahapan pengetahuan nilai karakter religius; 2. tahapan kesadaran nilai karakter religius; 3. tahapan pengamalan karakter religius; 4. tahapan pembiasaan karakter religius; kelima, tahapan penjagaan karakter religius sepanjang hayat.

Character education is a positive offer in the eradication of moral crises which particularly emerged in our students. Therefore, the internalization of values of character education in the educational institution is a must. As an Islamic education institution in Indonesia, the existence of Boarding school is considered to be able to develop values of character education which may be done through formal or non-formal curriculum. This is so because since its early existence, Boarding school has delineated its distinctive feature which is different from the other common types of education. Here, the implementation of character values have been integrated (within large portion) in the religious subjects. Character education, at least in the discourse, still a potent tool in addressing the arious issues that whack this nation. Not only in Indonesia, even in developed countries such as the United States, Germany, Japan, and, still rely on character education as a mainstay of kick to overcome various moral issues at hand. Character education became very warm issue in the education scene in Indonesia due to the rampant cases of moral that afflicts this nation, ranging from scenes in high State institutions, educational nstitutions until those cases that occur in the streets. The cases allegedly due to the failure of education that has lasted until today. Criticisms of the educational world tends to be mechanical, cognitive aspects than prefer the affective and psychomotor, and a series of spicy criticism more have graced the writings of educational expert. In order to respond to these concerns, the Government now, through the Ministry of education and culture and supported by the Ministry of Religion, raised character education agenda as the national education agenda. Sayang sayang thousand, until now there has been no clear concept of philosophy as well as on the technical implementation. This paper will offer solutions to various problems in philosophy as well as the implementation of character education. The author of the theme of humanist-religious is one of spirits in character education. The reason is that to improve the character of a nation, certainly could not depart from values which do not come from the nation itself. Humanist-religious is a character that belongs to the people of Indonesia so that character education is applied in this country inevitably had to depart from this character. After discussing the philosophy of character education from the perspective of humanist-religious, the author offers some alternatives that are related to the stages of education, learning methods, as well as the position of teachers in character education

The purpose of this study was to examine the understanding character education, education of khat}t} al-‘Arabiy, and the character education that grows khat}t} al-‘Arabiy. The research used qualitative approach. The researcher came the research field as a data collector in Qur'an Calligraphy School (SAKAL) Boarding School Mamba'ul Ma'Arif Denanyar Jombang. The data collection methods used were interviews, observation, and documentation. The analysis of the data is data reduction, data description, and drawing conclusions.The results of the study reveal that the history of khat}t} al-‘Arabiyappearedin Bani Umayyah and continued to develop to the period of Bani Abbasiyah. Then there appeared a calligrapher, Mrs. Muqlah, who later found the writing styles adopted from khat}tquficalled aqlam al-syittah such as: nash}i, thuluth, diwani>, farisi, riq’ah, and qufi.Character education that growsfrom khat al-'Arabiy education are among others religious, honest, discipline, hard working, creative, independent, appreciative, communicative, responsible. The process of establishing character at SAKAL is called taqlidi, which uses sanad as in the memorization of the Koran. Key words: character education, SAKAL, khat}t} al-‘Arabiy, taqlidi

Abstract: In its development, education and educational institutions must innovate to meet the needs of changing times, the efforts of educational institutions to create and innovate become a necessity and education must be able to keep up with the times. The innovations made by educational institutions are to achieve educational goals for example the competencies that must be mastered by students. In achieving these competencies, it is required capabilities of transmitting so that these competencies could be mastered well by students. One of the educational institution innovating in education and learning is MAN I Lamongan. This research is aimed at finding out digital-based learning media innovation in the development of character education in MAN I Lamongan. Data obtained that digital-based learning media innovation in the development of character education in MAN 1 Lamongan is reflected in three parts. First, The vision and mission of MAN 1 Lamongan; second, learning process by using slides, projected dynamic visuals, prints, games, realia, positive Internet; and third, the Islamic boarding school programs (Ma'had) for male and female students that include the Adiwiyata School Program, the ISO Program, the Prodistic Program equivalent to D1 in collaboration with the Ma'had.Keywords: Innovation, learning media, digital media, character education

The concept of mathematics learning which is integrated with Islamic character education is still limited; this is one of logical reasons why this research is conducted. The basic motivation of carrying out this research is to describe a concept of mathematics learning which is contextualized with Islamic character education. This research aims at describing concept of mathematics learning which is integrated with Islamic character education. This research uses a qualitative approach by emphasizing its analysis on the comparative inference process as well as on phenomena relationship dynamics observed by using scientific logic. Qualitative research is an approach that produces descriptive data in the form of written words from observed people that are not written in terms used in quantitative research. Research method used in this study is case study in which the researcher is trying to find out how the process of strengthening Islamic character through mathematics learning. This research was carried out at MA Nurul Ummah Kotagede Yogyakarta which has innovatively implemented mathematics learning using various methods through interactive learning multimedia which is integrated with strengthening Islamic character. Research finding showed that strengthening Islamic character through mathematics learning at MA Nurul Ummah is integrated into several aspects, namely learning methods, learning materials, and all aspect directly related to learning process in the classroom including putting statement of honesty on the answer sheet and giving reward and punishment to students.

Pondok Pesantren Darul Islah Kertek Wonosobo is a boarding school that holds the Tahfidz al-Qur'an program for students. This program aims to give birth to a young generation of Muslims who have expertise in a field of knowledge and are able to lead community life and entrepreneurship, based on the Qur'an. This research was conducted to determine how the impact of the Tahfidz al-Qur'an program was felt by the students at Darul Islah Kertek Wonosobo Islamic Boarding School. The type of research that researchers do is field research with a descriptive qualitative approach that is descriptive analysis. Data collection was carried out using the method of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of research on the impact of the Tahfidz al-Quran program carried out by the Darul Islah Kertek Wonosobo Islamic Boarding School on the values ​​of character education for students, they feel a change in themselves in their daily lives in ethics based on the spirit of carrying out Islamic teachings.

Every institution has its own way or method of applying character education where the lessons of values, ethics, morals and religious teachings are the main focus. The boarding school has a different educational pattern than the one in general. At the Alimussirry World Boarding School, students have a set of rules that are used in practice in the daily schedule of students. The daily schedule of activities was a means of implementing the practice for the students under the supervision of the lodge managers. All activities have different areas of management to assist and supervise studentsCharacter education is not just about the young budding education process that is tapping into the formation of the school, it is also about the individual within the educational institution. Basically, in order to be a responsible individual in society, each individual must develop a wide range of potentials within himself, especially promoting morals that will serve as a guide for their role models within the institution.

This research departs from the actualization of the kiai's leadership role in santri character education in Islamic boarding schools, which consists of the role of goal rationality, spirituality, and interpretation of the vision of education in Islamic boarding schools. This research aims to describe the role of the kiai in forming the character of santri in the Asy-Syifa Islamic boarding school. This research used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. data collection with interviews, observation and documentation studies, also data analysis and valid data testing. the results of research on how kiai act as pathfinding, a lightning and empowering in the process of forming the character of santri, this is illustrated by how the kiai synergizes the great vision of kiai and Islmic boarding school, with typical learning and Islamic boarding school culture and relational patterns of kiai-santri, santri-kiai and santri-community as a comprehensive process of character education patterns in the Asy-Syifa Islamic boarding school

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: nilai-nilai karakter, proses penanaman, faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam penanaman nilai-nilai karakter siswa SMK Salafiyah Kajen. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif fenomenologi. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik interviu, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan analisis interaktif model Miles & Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) Nilai-nilai yang ditanamkan di SMK Salafiyah adalah nilai-nilai karakter Islam berbasis pondok pesantren; (2) Proses penanaman nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter di SMK Salafiyah melalui konteks mikro dan konteks makro. Konteks mikro: integrasi nilai karakter dengan setiap mata pelajaran dan muatan lokal, budaya sekolah, dan kegiatan pengembangan diri. Konteks makro: keluarga, sekolah dan masyarakat; dan (3) Faktor pendukung dan pengambat: (a) faktor pendukung: SMK Salafiyah mempunyai SDM yang memadai, siswa SMK Salafiyah mayoritas di pondok pesantren, adanya sinergitas antara lingkungan keluarga, sekolah, dan masyarakat. (b) faktor penghambat: terbatasnya sarana dan prasarana, perbedaan pemahaman, belum adanya satu pondok pesantren, apatisme masyarakat terhadap SMK berbasis pondok pesantren. INCULCATING THE CHARACTER VALUES OF THE STUDENT OF SMK SALAFIYAH OF EXPERTISE PROGRAM CTN KAJEN, MARGOYOSO, PATI, JAWA TENGAHAbstractThe objectives of this research are to find out: (1) the character education values, (2) the inculcation process of the character education values, and (3) the obstacles in inculcating the character education values at SMK Salafiyyah Kajen.This research was conducted used the fenomenological qualitative approach. The data were collected through interviu, partisipative observation, and document analysis. The data analysis was conducted by having interactive analysis of Miles and Huberman model. The results of this research are as folows. First, the values inculcated at SMK Salafiyyah are the Islamic character education based on the Islamic boarding school. Second, the inculcation process of character education values at SMK Salafiyyah is through micro-context and macro-context. The micro-context includes the integration of each subject and local content, school culture, and self-development activities. The macro-context includes family, school, and society. Third, the supporting factors and the obstacling factors. The supporting factors are SMK Salafiyah has the human resource, the student majority live in Islamic boarding school, and SMK Salafiyah has the synergy between the family, school and society. The obstacling factors are the shortage of infrastucture, the differences of understanding of character education, and unavailability of boarding school for the students, the publicapathy of SMK education based on the Islamic boarding school.

<p class="IIABSBARU">This article discussed about the experience of al-Qodir Boarding School in Sleman Yogyakarta in the effort to counter the radicalism through the approach of peace building. Applying qualitative approach, this research using the methods of observation and deep interview in collecting data. With the theoritical framework of cognitive peace building, three factors of peace building became the focus; the mechanism of internal group, among group and external group. The main research finding here was the essential role of kiai in building participative dialogue with the community out of the boarding school which was imple­mented through social actions. It resulted in the ability of al-Qodir Boarding School in formulating the strategy of radicalism counter which became a typical strategy of pesantren among so many strategies to find out new formulations in avoiding the movement of radicalism in Indonesia.</p><p class="IIABSBARU">***</p>Tulisan ini akan membahas tentang pengalaman Pondok Pesantren Al-Qodir terhadap upaya <em>counter</em>-radikalisme melalui pendekatan bina-damai di Sleman Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan melakukan peng­amat­an serta wawancara mendalam. Kerangka teoritik yang digunakan peneliti adalah teori peace building. Perdamaian menurut teori ini bisa tercipta karena tiga faktor; mekanisme internal, antar kelompok dan eksternal. Temuan dari riset ini adalah adanya peran penting kiai dalam membangun dialog partisipatif dengan masyarakat luar pesantren yang terimplementasi melalui aksi-aksi sosial. Hasilnya Pesantren Al-Qadir mampu merumuskan strategi <em>counter</em>-radikalisme yang khas pesantren ditengah upaya banyak pihak mencari formulasi baru dalam menangkal gerakan radikalisme di Indonesia.

Education-based on character and culture is urgent to be developed in Indonesia to maintain the integrity of the Indonesian nation in the future. This development must be carried out jointly by elements of educational institutions. In Indonesia, three educational institutions can develop the fundamental values of character education, namely pesantren, madrasah, and schools. This research using a qualitative approach has revealed national character education and culture in Islamic Boarding Schools, Madrasah, and Schools, namely at the Brotonegaran 2 Ponorogo State Elementary School Ibtidaiyah Madrasah Mayak Ponorogo and Darul Falah Islamic Boarding School Sukorejo Ponorogo. The research found two suggestions that need to be considered by pesantren, madrasah and schools, namely the development of character education and national culture should be carried out sustainably and does not need to be taught but developed habituation and example.
