This thesis examines whether there johar leaf extracts hypoglycemic effect in mice made diabetic by induction streptozotosin. This type of research in this thesis is the experimental research, the design used was Pretest and Posttest Control Group Design. By using Federer formula, the number of samples are 24 mice were divided into 4 treatment groups: the 1st group  as the control group was given CMC-na 0.5 %, the 2nd group  was given a dose of 0.5 g/kgBW of  johar extract / kg, the 3rd Group was given johar extract 1 g / kgBW, and the 4th group were given a dose of 2 g johar extract / kgBW. Examination of the blood glucose test was done using NESCO TEST. The results of post-treatment blood sugar outline obtained an increase in blood sugar in group 1 and group 2, while in group 3 and group 4 showed a decrease in blood sugar levels. Normality test results obtained p values> 0.05 is 1165, so it could be said to be normally distributed data. Homogeneity test results obtained p values; 0.05 is 0.106, so the data can be said to be homogeneous. Observations of blood glucose levels in all groups get  p value> 0.05 that is 0.708 so it can be said from the time of reduction in blood sugar levels are not significant, while the value obtained from the group of p ;0.05 is 0.020, Its can be significant. The conclusion of this study of johar leaf extract is not so useful when given to the type of insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus.

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disease characterized by an increase in blood sugar levels. Blood sugar levels in patients with DM are mostly challenging to control, and this will threaten the occurrence of complications. Alternative therapies used are active flavonoids in reducing blood glucose. The purpose of this study was to analyze the decrease in blood sugar levels by administering cherry leaves stew and black onions to mice (mus musculus). The design of this study was the Quasy Experimental design (pretest-posttest with control group design). The sample in this study was 32 mice, 16 in the intervention group, and 16 comparison groups. There are independent variables (Kersen Leaf Stew and Black Onion Extract) and the dependent variable (Blood Glucose Level). The data were collected using an observation sheet, then analyzed using the independent sample T-test and Kolmogorov Smirnov test. The results of this study showed that the pre and post administration of cherry leaf decoction was 36.5 mg/dl, and the difference between pre and post administration of black onion extract was 24.3 mg/dl. While the analysis showed p = value 0.98, it showed no difference in the effectiveness of the two extracts in reducing blood sugar levels in mice. Obtained comparative test results from the two extracts were equally effective in lowering blood sugar in mice. Thus further research needs to be done with more samples.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of murottal and acupressure combination therapy on anxiety levels and blood sugar levels in patients with coronary heart disease, as well as describing the level of anxiety and pre and post blood sugar levels in the administration of combination therapy and non-combination therapy, and analyze the effect and differences in therapy combination and non-combination of anxiety and blood sugar levels. This study was a paired comparative analytic study using an experimental design with a control group pretest posttest design. Significant results in the Anova repeated measurement test on anxiety levels obtained p value <0.05 which means there is a significant influence of murottal and acupressure on anxiety levels, on blood sugar levels p values> 0.05 which means there is no significant effect of murottal and acupressure on blood sugar level. Conclusion, combination therapy between murottal with acupressure for 2x15 minutes a day is more effective in reducing anxiety of coronary heart patients in measurement 1 and measurement 2. Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is metabolic disorder syndrome characterized by hyperglycemia due to deficiency of insulin secretion. Patients of diabetic patients increases each year, so it needs proper handling. Corn flour is a source of carbohydrates with a low glycemic index to help reduce the rise in blood sugar levels. In addition, supplementation with tempeh flour containing isoflavones act to protect cells from free radical thereby inhibiting damage cells. Fiber in tempeh affect blood glucose levels because it slows the absorption of glucose.Objective: To determine the effect supplementation of corn flour with tempeh flour on blood sugar levels in diabetes mellitus Wistar rats.Methods: The study was true experimental design with Pre-posttest control group design, samples were 20 male Wistar rats aged 2-3 months were then divided into 4 groups (T0, T1, T2, T3.) T0 was injected with alloxan as 30 mg / 150 grams of BB rats are subsequently treated with standard diet; T1 was dministered by standard diet 50% + 50% corn flour; T2 was administered by standard diet 50% + 30% + corn flour tempeh flour 20%; and T3 was administered by standard diet of corn flour 50% + 15% + 35% tempeh flour for 2 weeks. Blood glucose levels were measured with a glucose kit (GOD FS). Research data were analyzed by One Way ANOVA followed by Tukey's Post Hoc test p-value <0.05.Results: There were significant differences on blood sugar levels in all groups (p = 0.000): control group (only dietary standards), T1 (administered by standard diet 50% + corn flour 50%), T2 (administered by a standard diet 50% + cornstarch 30% tempeh flour + 20%) and T3 (administered by standard diet of corn flour 50% + 15% + 35% tempeh flour).Conclusion: corn flour with tempeh flour supplementation effect on decresing of blood sugar levels.

Male infertility has occurred rapidly in the last few decades, primarily in developing countries. An antioxidant, hesperetin is a flavonoid that is found in abundance in orange peels. The aims of this research were to determine the effect of hesperetin on blood sugar levels, spermatozoaquality, and spermatozoa quantity. The research structure included induction of diabetes mellitus and treatment for 8 weeks, followed bydetermination of blood sugar levels, spermatozoa quality, and spermatozoa quantity. Hesperetin has the ability to restore blood sugar levels, spermatozoa quantity, seminiferous tubules diameter, and testicular weight, volume, and germinal epithelial layer thickness with significant difference from the normal control group. Hesperetin did not fully restore spermatozoa motility, viability, and morphology with significant difference from the normal control group, nor from the positive control group. However, overall, hesperetin decreased blood glucose levels, increased spermatozoa quantity, and improved the spermatozoa quality in alloxan-induced diabetes mellitus mice. Dose-dependent activity was observed with the optimum dose at 200 mg/kg body weight.

Coronary arteries are blood vessels that carry oxygen and nutrients to the heart muscle. These vessels can experience constriction due to the accumulation of plaque which causes atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis is characterized by reduced coronary artery elasticity. Blood glucose levels are one of the factors that cause atherosclerosis. The aims of this study was to determine whether there was a correlation of blood sugar levels with the elasticity of coronary arteries. This study is an analytical study with cross sectional design. The population in this study were all patients who visited the Gipateda Tulungagung treatment clinic that was more than 30 years old and female. Through accidental sampling technique, 30 respondents were obtained. The study was conducted from March 1, 2016 to May 1, 2016. Data was collected using a quantum resonance magnetic analyzer (QMRA) to determine the value of blood sugar levels and the value of elasticity of coronary arteries. The data obtained were analyzed statistically by bivariate linear regression tests to determine whether there was a significant correlation of blood sugar levels with the elasticity of coronary arteries. The results showed that the p value is 0.000 < 0.05, which means that there was a significant correlation between blood sugar levels and the elasticity of the coronary arteries. High blood glucose levels can damage the vascular endothelium and also increasing platelet agegrat, so that can resulting atherosclerosis. Every individual should be able to control blood sugar levels with a healthy lifestyle and early detection regularly to prevent the decrease of coronary arteries elasticity because that can lead to coronary heart disease (CHD).

Background: Diabetes Militus is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by hyperglycemia or an increase in blood sugar that occurs due to abnormal insulin secretion. Diabetes Mellitus in the world is one of the health problems that cause death. IDF data (2013) says Indonesia is the seventh largest country in the case of Diabetes Militus. Diabetes Militus in West Kalimantan Province increased from 0.6% in 2007 to 0.8% in 2013, this number increased compared to 2012, which was 4866 cases (Pontianak City Service 2014 in Salim, I.O, 2016). Based on 30 samples taken from the Purnama Public Health Center, 15 men and 15 women were found to suffer from Diabetes Militus type 2. With a poor lifestyle so that when carrying out research many were found with more weight. Purpose: Effectiveness of Types of Honey (Forest Honey, Kelulut Honey and Livestock Honey) Against Blood Sugar Levels Research Methods: Descriptive Quantitative with a sample of 30 respondents using a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test nonequivalent control group design. Research Results: The results showed that all honey can reduce blood sugar levels, especially forest honey. The results of data analysis using Anova statistical test obtained p value Pre test 0.52> α: 0.05 and Post test 0.113> α: 0.05 showed that there were no significant values ​​of the three types of honey on the decrease in blood sugar levels. Diabetes Mellitus di dunia adalah salah satu masalah kesehatan yang menyebabkan kematian. Data IDF (2013) mengatakan Indonesia adalah Negara terbesar ketujuh dalam kasus Diabetes Militus. Diabetes Militus di Provinsi Kalimantan Barat meningkat dari 0,6% pada tahun 2007 menjadi 0,8% pada tahun 2013, jumlah ini meningkat dibandingkan tahun 2012, yaitu 4866 kasus (Layanan Kota Pontianak 2014 di Salim, I.O, 2016). Berdasarkan 30 sampel yang diambil dari Pusat Kesehatan Masyarakat Purnama, 15 priadan 15 wanita ditemukan menderita Diabetes Militus tipe 2. Dengan gaya hidup yang buruk sehingga ketika melakukan penelitian banyak ditemukan yang lebih berat. Tujuan: Efektivitas Jenis-jenis Madu (Madu Hutan, Madu Kelulut dan Madu Ternak) Terhadap Kadar Gula Darah Metode Penelitian: Deskriptif Kuantitatif dengan sampel 30 responden menggunakan desain kuasi eksperimen dengan pre-test dan post-test nonequivalent control group design. Hasil Penelitian: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semua madu dapat mengurangi kadar gula darah, terutama madu hutan. Hasil analisis data menggunakan uji statistic Anova diperoleh nilai p Pre test 0,52> α: 0,05 dan Post test 0,113> α: 0,05 menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada nilai signifikan ketiga jenis madu terhadap penurunan kadar gula darah. Kesimpulan: Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa tidak ada efektifitas jenis-jenis madu (madu hutan, madu kelulut dan madu ternak) untuk menurunkan kadar gula darah di Puskesmas Purnama

BACKGROUND: High incidence rate of diabetes mellitus (DM) and increased incidence of complications from DM as well as the use of less effective antidiabetic drugs and high financing to treat demands alternative therapy. AIM: This study was conducted to determine the difference in the effect of Arabica coffee gayo bean and leaf extract on blood sugar levels in healthy mice before and after the intervention of extract and fasting and postprandial blood glucose level after consumption of glucose. METHODS: This research is an experimental research study. The study used experimental animals which were divided into 8 groups which are the control group (Aquadest), group given Acarbose, the group given the Arabica coffee gayo bean extract with dosage of 50 mg, 100 mg and 200 mg in healthy mice, the group given the Arabica coffee gayo leaf extract with dosage of 30 mg, 60 mg and 120 mg in healthy mice. RESULTS: The results of the study obtained are before and after the intervention of extract showed the difference of p= 0.523 and after consumption of glucose the fasting and postprandial result showed the difference of p = 0.005. CONCLUSION: The use of Arabica coffee gayo bean and leaf extract showed a high decrease in blood glucose levels (BGL) compared to the control group.

Background: DM (Diabetes Mellitus) is a chronic/chronic metabolic disorder characterized by an increase in blood glucose levels (hyperglycemia) caused by insufficient amounts of insulin or insufficient amounts of insulin, sometimes even more effective, this condition is called insulin resistence. Objective: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of ma’tsurat dhikr therapy in reducing blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at dr. Dradjat Prawiranegara Hospital Serang in 2018. Methods: The number of samples of this study was 34 respondents and the method was quasi-experimental. The data was analyzed by independent T-Test. The respondents of experimental group received DM exercise and morning-evening dhikr intervention, while the control group only received DM exercise intervention. Results:The results of the study showed that ma’tsurat dhikr affects significantly on the decrease of bloods ugarlevelsinpatienntswithtype2DMatdr.DradjatPrawiranegara Hospital Serang with p value<0.005. Conclusion: Intervention of ma’tsurat dhikr can be recommended for type 2 DM patients with elevated blood sugar levels in patients.

ABSTRACTSesewanua leaves contain flavonoids which can be potentially as antidiabetic. Flavonoids reduce blood sugar levels by capturing free radicals that cause damage to pancreatic beta cells and inhibit pancreatic beta cell damage. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of antidiabetic activity on the administration of Sesewanua (Clerodendron squamatum Vahl.) Leaf extracts in wistar white rats (Rattus norvegicus) induced by Aloxan. This type of research is a laboratory experiment using a completely randomized design. Test animals are grouped into 5 groups each consisting of 3 test animals. The negative control group (K-) was not treated, the positive control group (K +) was given metformin, groups 2, 3, and 4 were treated with different extract concentration of 200, 400, and 800 mg. Before the treatment was done the rats were examined the initial blood sugar level, then induced alloxan monohydrate 120 mg / kg BW intraperitonially (ip), and checked the blood sugar level on the 3rd day and continued with the administration of the leaf extracts of the animal every two days until the 14th day. The results showed that sesewanua leaf extracts with a concentration of 200, 400, and 800mg had a decreased activity in blood sugar levels from day 4 to day 14 with a decrease of 13.66 mg / dL in the concentration group 1, 43 mg / dL in the dose concentration 2, and 103 mg / dL in the concentration group 3. Keywords: Blood Glucose, Clerodendron squamatum Vahl., Flavonoids,  Rattus norvegicus ABSTRAKDaun sesewanua mengandung flavonoid yang dapat berpotensi sebagai antidiabetes. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen laboratorium menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap. Hewan uji dikelompokan dalam 5 kelompok masing-masing terdiri dari 3 ekor hewan uji. Kelompok kontrol negatif (K-) tidak diberi perlakuan, kelompok kontrol positif (K+) diberikan metformin, Kelompok 2, 3, dan 4 diberi perlakuan dengan konsentras ekstrak yang berbeda-beda yaitu 200, 400, dan 800 mg. Sebelum perlakuan dilakukan tikus diperiksa kadar gula darah awal, kemudian diinduksi aloksan monohidrat 120 mg/kgBB secara intraperitonial (ip), dan diperiksa kadar gula darah pada hari ke-3 dan dilanjutkan dengan pemberian ekstrak daun sesewanua setiap dua hari sekali sampai hari ke-14. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun sesewanua dengan konsentrasi 200, 400 , dan 800mg memiliki aktivitas penurunan kadar gula darah dari hari ke-4 sampai hari ke-14 dengan penurunan sebesar 13.66 mg/dL pada kelompok konsentrasi 1, 43 mg/dL pada kelompok konsentrasi 2, dan 103 mg/dL pada kelompok konsentrasi 3. Kata Kunci: Clerodendron squamatum Vahl., Flavonoid, Glukosa Darah, Rattus norvegicus

ABSTRACT: THE EFFECT OF PROGRESIVE MUSCLE RELAXATION (PMR) ON REDUCING BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVELS IN PEOPLE WITH DIABETES MELLITUS IN THE WORK AREA OF OGAN LIMA HEALTH CENTER, WEST ABUNG DISTRICT, NORTH LAMPUNG Introduction: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a non-communicable disease that often suffers. Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a non-communicable disease that often suffers.Purpose: To determine the effect of progresive muscle relaxation (PMR) on reducing blood glucose levels in people with diabetes mellitus.Method: This type of research is quantitative, quasi-experimental design using non equivalent control groups. The population in this study were all DM patients in the Work Area of Ogan Lima Health Center, West Abung District, North Lampung, with a total sample of 34 respondents. Data analysis used T test analysis (dependent and independent sample t-test).Results: The results of univariate analysis showed that the average blood glucose level of respondents in the pretest group was 247.29 ± 28.431 mg / dL and posttest 210.29 ± 28.711 mg / dL. The average level of respondent's blood glucose at pretest was 255.94 ± 30.738 mg / dL and posttest 230.76 ± 25.69 mg / dL. T-dependent test results obtained by the treatment group p-value = 0,000, and the control group p-value = 0.006. T-independent test results obtained p-value = 0.035.Conclusion: There was a significant difference between the blood glucose levels of diabetics in the treatment group and the control group. Suggestions are expected that health workers can apply PMR training as an alternative therapy for DM patients. Keywords :progresive muscle relaxation, blood glucose level, diabetes mellitus  Latar Belakang: Diabetes Melitus (DM) merupakan penyakit tidak menular yang sering diderita. Data di dunia sebanyak 422 juta orang dewasa hidup dengan diabetes, di Indonesia tahun 2018 prevalensi  diabetes meningkat dari 1,1% menjadi 2,0%, di Provinsi Lampung meningkat dari 0,8% menjadi1,6%, di Kabupaten Lampung Utara meningkat dari 0,9menjadi 1,07 %. Terapi komplementer untuk mengontrol kadar glukosa darah salah satunya dengan relaksasi otot progresif (Progresive Muscle Relaxation (PMR).Tujuan:Diketahui Pengaruh Progresive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) terhadap penurunan kadar glukosa  darah pada penderita diabetes melitus.Metode Penelitian:Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif, rancangan quasi eksperiment menggunakan non equivalent control group. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh pasien DM di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Ogan Lima Kecamatan Abung Barat Lampung Utara, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 34 responden.Analisis data menggunakan analisis uji T (dependent dan independent sample t-test).Hasil Penelitian: Hasil analisis univariat bahwa rata-rata kadar glukosa darah responden kelompok perlakuan saat pretest yaitu 247,29 ± 28,431 mg/dL dan posttest 210,29 ± 28,711 mg/dL. Rata-rata kadar glukosa darah responden saat pretest yaitu 255,94 ± 30,738 mg/dL dan posttest 230,76 ± 25,69mg/dL.
