The Malaysian cosmetic industry is currently operating in a competitive market. For brands to stand out and gain a competitive advantage over others, marketers are turning towards the use of celebrity endorsement in advertisements. Therefore, it is important for advertisers of cosmetic brands to be aware of the properties in celebrity endorsement that can influence their customer’s buying behavior. The objective of this study is to investigate the significant effects of celebrity credibility, attractiveness and popularity on female youth’s cosmetic buying behavior. This quantitative cross sectional study utilizes data obtained from a personally administered questionnaire. A sample of 253 female youths from a university was chosen using the convenience sampling method. Various statistical analyses were conducted via the SPSS statistical package. The findings indicate that the properties of celebrity attractiveness and popularity had positive and significant effects on consumer buying behavior, however, celebrity credibility did not. This suggests that female youths are more concerned about the physical attractiveness and likeability of the endorsers when making decisions, whilst not concerned about the credibility of the endorser such as expertise and trustworthiness. The study concludes with the discussion and implications as well as limitations and suggestions for future re-search.

Introduction: Sagittal jaw relationship is an important parameter for orthodontic treatment planning. Angular and linear measurements both have been proposed and used in orthodontic cephalometrics to assess the sagittal jaw relationships. However, angular measurement has been questioned over the years for its reliability as a result of changes in facial height, jaw inclination and the variable positions of Nasion. So, the objective of our study was to assess the linear anteroposterior jaw relation in a sample of Nepali population using occlusal (Wits appraisal) and palatal planes as reference lines. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted using the lateral cephalogram of 101 individuals visiting the Department of Orthodontics, Kantipur Dental College, Kathmandu, Nepal. Individuals with Class I skeletal relation were selected using convenience sampling method. Radiographs were standardised and traced. Occlusal and palatal planes were drawn that were bisected by the perpendicular lines from Point A and Point B. The linear distances between the intersections were measured to determine sagittal jaw relations. Results: In Nepali individuals with normal ANB angle (3.05°±2.511°), the sagittal jaw relation with reference to occlusal (Wits appraisal) and palatal planes were found to be 0.203±3.343mm and 3.574±4.074mm respectively. Conclusions: Various methods has been proposed and used to assess the sagittal jaw relation and each method has its own strength and limitations. So, it is well advised to use additional cephalometric analysis whenever possible before arriving at any diagnosis and treatment plans. Keywords: ANB angle; Nepal; palatal plane; Wits appraisal.

Therefore, this study was intended to characterize and compare concerns about a childfree lifestyle and the need for parenthood and their relationship with marital satisfaction in infertile couples. Method: A total of 200 men and 200 women who referred to fertility centers in Tehran participated in this cross-sectional study. Convenience sampling method was used for sampling. Demographic survey, ENRICH Marital Satisfaction Scale, and Fertility Problem Inventory were used for data collection. The resulting data were analyzed using descriptive and analytical statistical tests (Pearson Correlation Coefficient and Stepwise Regression). Results: The mean scores for concern about a childfree lifestyle and the need for parenthood in women were significantly higher than in men. The variables rejection of a childfree lifestyle and the need for parenthood were respectively predictors of marital satisfaction in women and men. Conclusion: Since marital satisfaction in infertile couples is affected by their feelings about having a child and becoming a parent, it is therefore suggested that appropriate counseling be provided in supportive healthcare programs for infertile couples to promote their marital satisfaction.
