Phonological awareness is a skill which is crucial in learning to read. In this paper, we report on the challenges encountered while developing a digital application (app) for teaching phonological awareness and early literacy skills in Dhuwaya. Dhuwaya is a Yolŋu language variety spoken in Yirrkala and surrounding areas in East Arnhem Land. Dhuwaya is the first language of the children who attend a bilingual school in which Dhuwaya and English are the languages of instruction. Dhuwaya and English have different phonemic inventories and different alphabets. The Dhuwaya alphabet is based on Roman alphabet symbols and has 31 graphemes (compared to 26 in English). The app was designed to teach children how to segment and blend syllables and phonemes and to identify common words as well as suffixes used in the language. However, the development was not straightforward, and the impact of the linguistic, cultural and educational challenges could not have been predicted. Amongst these was the inherent variation in the language, including glottal stops, the pronunciation of stops, the focus on syllables as a decoding strategy for literacy development and challenges of finding one-syllable words such as those initially used with English-speaking children. Another challenge was identifying culturally appropriate images which the children could relate to and which were not copyrighted. In this paper, we discuss these plus a range of other issues that emerged, identifying how these problems were addressed and resolved by the interdisciplinary and intercultural team.

Since 2003, the term "consultative democracy" has received more and more attention from Chinese scholars, and more research results have been formed. In general, these documents lack the analysis of the research stage and research hotspots in this field. Therefore, this article uses the Chinese Academic Journals Network Publishing Library (CNKI) as the data source, and uses the common word analysis and cluster analysis methods in the CiteSpace software to analyze 500 Chinese core journals in the field of grassroots deliberative democracy in my country from 2004 to June 2020. The literature conducts a text quantitative analysis. The study found that the research hotspots of grassroots deliberative democracy in our country focused on Chinese characteristics, party leadership, national governance and political consultation. Compared with capitalist democracy, socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics is a comprehensive, extensive and true democracy, and the realization of democratization at the grassroots level is the unity of electoral democracy and deliberative democracy. Based on the above research results, the following suggestions are proposed: focus on improving the ability of grassroots masses to consult democracy; in the context of the new era, broaden the development path of grassroots consultative democracy.

Accounting research, like many other social science disciplines, has gradually moved from qualitative to quantitative research with an emphasis on the use of multiple evidence or methods in the conduct of research. This chapter explores the concerns and implications of triangulation in the conduct of research in the social sciences, particularly in the field of accounting. Based on evidence from existing literature, the chapter submits that triangulation is an important strategy for enhancing the quality of accounting research. Accounting researchers, like those from other social science disciplines, often adopt triangulation when investigating a complex phenomenon whereby using a single data source or method may not allow an exhaustive investigation to fully understand it, hence the inability to reach a dependable conclusion. Despite the concerns and implications of use of triangulation in accounting and social science research, the chapter concluded it is a relevant approach especially at a time when adequate evidence and analytical rigor is required to substantiate research findings.

The effectiveness of zakat management in Indonesia can be seen from how far the zakat funds can be collected and properly distributed to the right people (mustahiq) by the zakat management agencies. This study aims to determine the extent of the collection, management, and distribution of zakat and its effect on the efficiency of zakat distribution by the National Zakat Agency in the 2008-2019 periods. This research uses the combination of qualitative and quantitative research, which the data source refers to the annual financial report of the National Zakat Management Agency in the 2008-2019 periods. Analysis of the Data uses the descriptive-qualitative and statistical-quantitative through correlation and linear regression tests. The results of this study show: first, the regulation of zakat has not been fully implemented in practice, so that the distribution of zakat has no positive and significant effect on the efficiency of zakat distribution; second, the role of zakat management institutions has no significant effect on the efficiency of zakat distribution in Indonesia; and third, the distribution of zakat and the role of zakat management institutions have no simultaneously positive and significant effect on the efficiency of zakat distribution in Indonesia, which is shown through the results of the significance test (F test) and the coefficient of determination test, as evidenced by the calculation results of the determination test only 19.1%, while the remaining 80.9% are other factors that are not studied. The implication of the results of this study is the management of zakat management must be improved so that its distribution becomes more effective and efficient.

This study aims to determine the effect of the area of Forest Fire and Deforestation Figures on Green House Gas Emission Level. This study uses descriptive quantitative research, with statistical analytical methods. The data source is processed with the Importance-Performance Analysis, so that the area can be used as a reference in reducing the level of greenhouse gas emissions. The provinces of South Kalimantan, South Sumatra and Papua are areas prone to fires which are suspected not to be affected by the high level of Indonesia's deforestation within and outside the Forest Zone, but there may be other factors that play a role in the emergence of the forest fires. It is suspected that among the factors that can be a trigger factor for high levels of forest fires that are directly related to the increase in the number of greenhouse gas emissions, namely the distribution of the peat deposits.

The rate of growth population (LPP) becomes the main problem that is being faced by Indonesia today, one of them was East Java Province which increased 0.06 in 2000–2010 from 1990–2000 period. One effort to control LPP was family planning program by using contraception, especially Intra Uterine Device (IUD) to regulate the distance of pregnancy and to regulate birth spacing. Achievements of new Long Term Contraception Method (MKJP) acceptors especially IUD tend to decrease from 2013 to 2015 in Surabaya. The achievement of the proportion of new IUD acceptors in 2016 in Pusyan Gatra decreased by 6% became 34% from 2015 which is 40%. This study aimed to know and analyze the variables associated with the use of IUD in Pusyan Gatra in 2016 by using chi-square test. This research was an analytic quantitative research with cross-sectional design. This research data source were a new acceptor secondary data of MKJP in 2016. Population in this research were 270 new acceptors of MKJP from January to December 2016. The independent variables were age, educational level, employment status, and parity. The results from chi – square test were age (p = 0.002) and parity (p = 0.001) which related to IUD. Level of education and employment status of acceptors had no significant relationship with IUD in Pusyan Gatra. Therefore, the couple of reproductive (PUS) were >35 years old who had parity >2 and not using long–term contraception method yet, the counseling about using MKJP such as IUD must be improved.
