This paper deals with The Effect of Stress Control and Expectation on Satisfaction with Teacher Colleagues in MTsN (Islamic Junior High School) Stabat, Langkat Regency, Indonesia. The conditions that are not conducive where among the teachers there are still those who do not agree to carry out work on the decisions that have been determined are always pros and cons. This research is quantitative research, a type of correlation research using descriptive and inferential approaches and by classifying independent variables and dependent variables. The result shows that there is a moderate tendency in stress control variables, expectation variables and satisfaction variables with teacher colleagues tend to be less. In other words, stress control and expectation together can increase satisfaction with teacher colleagues.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan rintisan bank soal Bahasa Inggris SMP kelas VIII pada tingkat provinsi dengan memperhatikan (1) karakteristik soal Ulangan Kenaikan Kelas (UKK); (2) karakteristik butir-butir soal; (3) jumlah butir soal yang memenuhi standar. Metode yang digunakan adalah pengembangan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif. Sam-pel sebanyak 6554 respon siswa (lembar jawab). Perangkat tes dianalisis kesesuaian indikatornya dengan Standar Kompetensi (SK) dan Kompetensi Dasar (KD) yang telah ditentukan, serta ditelaah secara kualitatif oleh ahli berdasarkan kriteria kons-truksi, bahasa dan materi. Respons siswa dianalisis secara kuantitatif dengan Iteman 3.00, dan Bilog MG 3.0 3 PL untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang tingkat kesulitan, daya beda, pseudoguessing, serta informasi butir. Bank soal yang dihasilkan masuk kategori baik dilihat dari (1) Hasil analisis kualitatif dari 150 butir soal, sebanyak 105 butir soal (70%) dinyatakan baik. (2) Hasil analisis kuantitatif dengan program Iteman 3.00 diperoleh 115 butir soal tergolong baik. (3) Analisis dengan Bilog MG 3 PL 77 butir soal (66,96%) masuk kategori baik.Kata kunci: bank soal, tingkat kesulitan, daya beda, pseudo guessing, expert judgment, informasi butir dan tes______________________________________________________________ THE ITEM CHARACTERISTICS OF THE FINAL SEMESTER TEST AS A PREPARATION FOR ENGLISH ITEM BANKAbstract This research aims at developing a pilot english test item bank of the 2nd grade junior high school based on: (1) the characterisctics of test items for final semester test; (2) the total number of test items for the 2nd grade junior high school in Yogyakarta Special Province. This descriptive quantitative research used 6554 samples of students’ answer sheets in 2009 and also employs expert judgment to review the construct, language, as well as the materials of the questions. Students’ responses were also analyzed by using Iteman 3.00, Bilog MG 3.0 3 PL. The result of qualitative analysis with expert judgment which shows that 105 out of the 150 test items are categorized as “good”, and the other are “bad”. The quantitative analysis with Iteman 3.00 shows that 115 out of the 150 test items are categorized as “good” and the quantitative analysis with Bilog MG 3.00 3 PL shows that 67% test items are categorized as good. To prepare a community that is ready and alert to natural disasters needs to be instilled and introduced early to the students in the context of education how Islam sees disaster. During this time, students are of the view that Islamic values, have not touched on disaster and disaster mitigation because of their ignorance about the teachings of Islam itself. Usually they also know superficially, without going through an in-depth study of the Islamic view of the damage to the environment and the disaster itself. For that, it needs to be introduced in more depth about the Islamic view of disaster. The approach of this research is quantitative research with comparative design. The subject of this research is the students of State Junior High School located in Bangkalan District, with stratification of city, middle, and periphery schools. In this study used questionnaire method to know the initial description of students' knowledge about disaster theology approach in Islamic perspective and to know the competence of disaster mitigation attitude and skill aspects. Data analysis in this research is used T Test Indenpendent Samples Test with SPSS 20. The result of this research shows that most students have good knowledge about disaster and disaster mitigation in Islamic perspective. There is a difference in disaster mitigation competencies in attitude and skill aspects between the implementation of disaster theology approach in Islamic perspective with material-based approach to students of State Junior High School (SMPN) in Bangkalan District.

Introduction: Physical and psychological alteration are commonly happen in adolescents. Some of them will feel over estimate, egocentric, peevish, and aggressive. This is influenced by society and family. Some of researches said that a child which is growth in verbal abusing, they will have psychological disorder such as anxiety, Post Trauma Distress Syndrome, depression, and personality disorder. Aim: The aim of this research was to know the association of parental verbal abuse and adolescent personality types in 2 Gamping Junior High School. Method: The method was a quantitative research which used cross sectional design. The sample was 89 person which lived with parents at home and they were 12 – 14 years old. The questioners were verbal abuse questioner and Myers Briggs Type Indicator Personality. Finally, it used coefficient contingency test. Result: Based on the result, the p was 0, 192 (sign. p <0,05). It was shown that there was unrelated between parental verbal abuse and adolescent personality types in 2 Gamping Junior High School. There were many factors which influencing the personality type in individual, such as genetic, social, and perceptions.

<span>Competence in research is an attractive feature that should be established for all practitioners because specialists with training and expertise in research will recognize strategic thinking, interpretation, and synthesizing more easily. Hence, this study aimed to describe the knowledge competency among junior high school mathematics teachers on the research processes applied on the contents of the various sections of a quantitative research paper. The descriptive method of research has been used to characterize the knowledge competence of 108 junior high school teachers on the research processes. The study used the research skill test, which was a researcher-made instrument, consisting of 50 multiple choice items with four choices each. The instrument went through the process of validity and reliability analysis obtaining a good result of 0.81. This study revealed that they were “novice” or had achieved the learning level of competency on the research processes applied on the contents of the different parts of a quantitative research paper. More so, they identified that interpretation of statistical results was a challenging part of doing a research paper.</span>

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis pengaruh pola asuh orang tua, pergaulan teman sebaya, media televisi terhadap karakter siswa SMP Negeri 25 Purworejo tahun 2014/2015. Penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini digolongkan dalam penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian korelasional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa SMP Negeri 25 Purworejo. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik simplerandom sampling. Sampel berjumlah 100 yang diambil dari kelas VII dan VIII dan dipilih dengan cara acak. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan teknik angket atau questioner dan observasi. Teknik analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan analisis statistik inferensial dengan bantuan program SPSS versi 16.0 for windows. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) Pola asuh orang tua memberikan pengaruh sebesar 16,30 % terhadap karakter siswa SMP Negeri 25 Purworejo. (2) Pergaulan teman sebaya memberikan pengaruh sebesar 70,04 % terhadap karakter siswa SMP Negeri 25 Purworejo. (3) Media televisi memberikan pengaruh sebesar 24,60 % terhadap karakter siswa SMP Negeri 25 Purworejo. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh pergaulan teman sebaya lebih dominan dalam karakter siswa SMP Negeri 25 Purworejo dibandingan pengaruh pola asuh orang tua dan media televisi.THE EFFECTS OF PARENTING STYLE, SOCIAL PEERS, AND TELEVISION ON STUDENTS’ CHARACTEROF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOLAbstractThis research aims to know and analize the effect of parenting, social peers, television on students’ character of Junior High School 25 in Purworejo in the Academic Year of 2014-2015.This is a quantitative research with correlation study. The population of this study is all students of State Junior High School 25 in Purworejo. The sample of this study was taken using simple random sampling. The sample was 100 students from VII (second year) and VIII (third year) classes and was taken at random. The data collection used questionnaires and observation. The data analysis of this study used inferensial statistic analysis using SPSS 16.0 version.The result of this study shows (1) parenting style gives great influence (16.3%%) on students’s character of State Junior High School 25 in Purworejo. (2) social peers give influence 70.04% on students’s character of State Junior High School 25 in Purworejo. (3) Television gives influence 24.60% on students’s character of State Junior High School 25 in Purworejo. This result shows that social peers influence more dominantly in students’s character of State Junior High School 25 in Purworejo than parenting style and television.

ABSTRACT This article has written the contribution of appreciative reading skills in fairy tale texts to the skills of producing short story text in class VII students of SMP 26 Padang. This research is quantitative research using descriptive methods and contribution research designs. The research data is a score of appreciative short story text reading skills and short story text test scores. Data is obtained through two types of tests, namely objective tests that use short story texts that write. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, the researcher concluded the following three things; first, the average score of appreciative reading skills reads short story texts of students in class VII Padang 26 Junior High School in good qualification (82.01). Second, the average score of short story text students who write students in class VII of Padang 26 Junior High School is in good qualification (79.17). Third, there is a significant contribution between the ability to read short story texts that are appreciative of students who write short story text students in class VII of Padang 26 Junior High School as much as 84.82%. Kata Kunci: kontribusi, kemampuan, membaca apresiatif, menulis, teks cerpen

This research aimed to see if learning by teaching (LBT) could really be implemented in classrooms. This case study intended to discover if LBT was applicable to teach tenses. This quantitative research involved 50 students from the two of 8th grade classes in one junior high school in Jakarta, one of which acted as the control group and the other one as the experimental group. This research focused on the learning of five tenses, namely the simple present tense, the simple past tense, the simple future tense, the simple present continuous tense, and the simple present perfect tense. A pre-test was employed before the research started and after the treatment had been given to the experimental group, a post-test was given a week after, and another post-test was given three months later. The results show that LBT helps the subjects learn better. Moreover, they also remember their materials longer. Therefore, LBT can be a good student-centered activity which has been proven successful.

This research aimed to find out the students’ perception about the school zoning system and the students’ learning interests from the seventh grade junior high school in Buleleng regency, as well as the effect of it. This research used correlation-quantitative research. The subject of this research was the students of seventh grade junior high school in Buleleng regency. The object of this research was the students’ learning interests affected by the students’ perception about the school zoning enrolment system for the new students. The data were taken by spreading the questionnaires, doing the observation and interviewing. The respondent in this research were 318 students of seventh grade junior high school in Buleleng regency who chosen randomly from each school. There were two variables in this research, the students’ perception about the school zoning system (X) and the students’ learning interests (Y). This research was analysed by using one sample t-Test, linier test and simple linear regression test. The results showed that: (1) students' perception of school zoning system for junior high students in Buleleng regency have been carried out so well. Also, the facilities and the infrastructures already supported the policy properly. The results showed an average number on 38,317 and the t-Test showed 29,196. (2) The students' learning interests in junior high school Buleleng regency showed a quite good result. This statement was supported by the average number on 2.7758 and the T-test was 29,20. (3) There was a significant result between the students’ perception about the school zoning system and the student’s learning interest. This result was supported by doing an analysis of independent sample t-Test analysis with a t-count showed 1,848 > 1,655 with percentage 56%.

ABSTRACT   Parents are the most influential figure in the life of every child. Parental involvement in the learning process can also affect the process of life is huge in children. In addition, the teachers and the learning environment in schools can also influence the motivation to learn so that students can master the student's mastery of concepts in science lessons in schools, especially physics known as a difficult subject among junior high school students. Therefore teachers and learning environments should be supportive atmosphere so that students more motivated to follow the lessons of Natural Sciences. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in student motivation by using STEM-based science learning. This study uses a quantitative research with the participation of as many as 28 students of class VIII-5 on one of the Junior High School in Bandung. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire on aspects of learning motivation Need for Achievement, Need for Power aspects, and aspects of the Need for Affiliation. The results showed that the students' motivation to learn the most improved there on aspects Need for Power showed an increase by a margin of 3.53 and an average pretest and posttest of 0.89. It can be concluded that the application of STEM-based science learning can increase students' motivation. Solutions to increase learning motivation towards science subjects can use based learning Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).  Keywords: Motivation; STEM.
