In accordance with WHO’s motto: “my health in my hands”, contemporary approach to health issues concentrates on promoting active lifestyle of an individual. An individual’s lifestyle determines one’s health in 50—60%, (which makes it the most significant factor). Other determinants of an individual’s health – according to Marc Lalonde’s health fieldconcept – are: environment (21%), biomedical (16%), and healthcare services (10%). Physical activity is an essential element of healthy lifestyle. Polish society is characterized by a low level of physical activity. Therefore, it is necessary to take social and educational actions in order to shape attitudes, habits or skills within this range. Currently, particular expectations are directed towards physical education teachers, who are propagating health education in Polish schools. It is essential to instruct teachers, who should not only possess didactic skills, but also (or even primarily) — they should set an example by their own behaviour. Resulting from the above mentioned issue, the aimof this work was to characterize physical activity of female students at the University School of Physical Education in Poznań from the perspective of pro-health influence they might have as future PE teachers. The characteristics ofthe respondents are presented with reference to their place of residence and type of sports discipline they train. The research was based on the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ). IPAQ is currently considered to be one of the best questionnaires used to analyse physical activity of people aged 15—69 years. For the analysis presented in this paper the shorter version of the questionnaire was used. It included seven questions concerning all types of physical activity (related to everyday life, work and leisure time). IPAQ is a method which makes use of metabolic equivalent — 1 MET. The research was carried on among female students of the full-time programme, specialization: physical education teacher. The calendar age of the students was 19.8 years. The results based on the analysis revealed that the examined students represented high and sufficient level of physical activity. Students training individual sports, as well as those living in cities with more than 100 000 inhabitants, reached higher values of MET coefficient than other respondentsKeywords: lifestyle, health behaviour, physical activity, IPAQ.

AbstractThe objective of the study was to examine the level of perceived stress among the final year students in the full-time Master’s programme at the Department of Physiotherapy of the University School of Physical Education in Wroclaw, and to identify the factors correlating with stress. The study involved 54 students. The participants were 23 to 28 years of age, 44 of them were women, and 10 men. The level of stress and related factors were evaluated using the Perceived Stress Questionnaire (KPS - Kwestionariusz Poczucia Stresu) created by Mieczysław Plopa and Ryszard Makarowski, and a short questionnaire prepared by the authors of the study, containing questions about the students’ age, gender, physical activity, financial situation, gainful employment, mode of studies, hometown, having a close friend or relative, plans for the future and satisfaction with the studies.Regular physical activity is a factor that positively affects the level of students’ perceived stress. A lower level of perceived stress was also associated with the respondents’ rating of their financial situation as good. The overall mean stress score obtained by the surveyed students is indicative of low stress severity. In the majority of cases, the respondents reported an average level of emotional strain and a low level of external and internal stress. The mean values of overall scores on the stress scale and its subscales were higher for women than for men. However, due to the size of the sample group, the differences cannot be seen as statistically significant.Regular physical activity and good financial situation impact on reducing the level of perceived stress.

Purpose: on the basis of a review of modern special literature, develop a questionnaire and analyze the attitude of students to physical education. Material and Methods: the study was conducted on the basis of the Department of Physical Education, Sports and Human Health, Mariupol State University. The study involved 78 students of the 1st year of study, of which 38 students (Gr. 1) and 40 students (Gr. 2). Everyone was asked to answer the question of the developed questionnaire. Results: despite the fact that only 39% of girls and 52% of boys tolerate physical activity, according to the answers, only 21% of female students and 30% of students attend sports sections 2-3 times a week, the rest consider it sufficient to attend physical education classes at the University. At the same time, 44% of female students and 35% of students suffer from colds 3-4 times a year, which in the future, against the background of a decrease in immunity, can lead to chronic diseases. There is also a tendency towards the abuse of low alcohol drinks. Only 31% of female students and 25% of students are fully satisfied with physical culture at the University. According to many students, physical culture should take into account the interests of the students themselves in the form of sectional classes. According to our survey, 63% of girls want to go in for fitness, 37% - power sports, 2 times a week instead of physical education lessons. Conclusions: there is a problem in the current system of physical education, it is necessary to develop and implement innovative directions for improving the process of physical education.

The results of the study and the data of Ukrainian and foreign scientists showed that children are passively involved in physical activity. School lessons of physical culture lose their priority among the preferences of students. The interests of younger students in physical education contradict with the curriculum. Physical development has a declarative and situational nature, since only about 20% of children engage in motor activity in the morning. In view of this, the author developed a method of forming a sustainable interest in physical education and sports during the extracurricular institution, which has been introduced from 2017 to the present at the University of Gifted Child (UGC), which operates at the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University (Ukraine). Here, they have created a special educational, development and leisure environment of health-conscious content. The study confirmed the hypothesis that the effectiveness of this process is provided by a number of conditions: students have knowledge of physical culture and sports, health, well-known fellow countrymen; practical activity of children; valuable attitude of younger students to physical education, motivation for healthy lifestyle, emotional satisfaction from exercise, physical activity, sports, active rest; highly professional teaching staff who are well-known athletes, creative students; innovative methods and forms of learning, etc. It is proved that if significant attention is paid to the cognitive and value components, then it is possible to generate more intense interest in physical culture in children

Purpose : to analyze the influence of physical qualities of foreign female students on their adaptation to physical activity. It is suggested to apply an individually-differentiated training program for this purpose. Material and methods : the comparative analysis of foreign female students from Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan (n = 60) - an experimental group and females from Russian regions (n = 119) - a control group. It was applied the standards of the All-Russian sports complex "Ready for Labour and Defence" by levels (bronze, silver and gold badges) to determine the physical development level. It was applied the system of intragroup rating, which includes monitoring of students' activity at each practical class of physical education. Mathematical and statistical data processing was performed applying Chi-square (c2) at p<0.001, p<0.01 and p<0.05. Results : the speed and flexibility qualities are not sufficiently developed in students from Near Abroad. Comparative monitoring statistically proved the positive impact of the experiment on the implementation of the author's individually-differentiated program. The study significantly revealed that foreign female students statistically improved performance indicators of individual physical development. Female students adapted to the implementation of the educational process of physical education in the multicultural environment of the university. Conclusions : the application of the coordination qualities development program allowed to statistically prove its more significant effect in comparison with the program of speed qualities improving. The students' dexterity development program could be applied in the process of adaptation to the physical activity at the university.

Abstract: This article analyzes the evolution of the syllabi in physical education and physical activity sciences at the University of León since its introduction in 1987. The objective of this study is self-recorded BMI among 20-year-old female students in the context of their physical activity, weight, body height, parent’s education and the time factor. Statistical analysis of the data was based on anthropometric measurements and a survey conducted among female students (N = 1,394) from the first year of full-time studies at the Gdansk University of Physical Education and Sport (AWFiS) in the years 2003–2010. The relationship between variables and logistic models was analyzed (Student’s test, Duncan’s test, analysis of variance, logistic regression). Statistical analysis was conducted using Statistica 6.0 software. At the background of the research results it may be claimed that incorrect self-reported BMI favors sport (OR = 0.71), father’s elementary or basic vocational education (OR = 1.44), higher weight (OR = 0.90) and BMI (OR = 0.76) and lower height (OR = 1.07). 29.77% women did not evaluate their BMI correctly during the whole 8-year research process. The correct BMI was reported by 70.23% of the students; 26.76% overestimated their BMI and 3.01% underestimated it. A high percentage of women who practice sport and who incorrectly determined their own BMI (31.25%) is disquieting, including 8.82% of the students who underestimated their BMI, and 91.18% who overestimated it. Failure to correctly evaluate BMI may lead to nutrition disorders, low self-esteem and serious health consequences. It is reasonable to develop regular and skillful evaluation of BMI among young people by institutions and people involved in health promotion.
